I must say that you will be missed if you do decide to retire from Hermes ROM Cooking.

Im not retiring from HTC hermes, only from xda-developers soon,.

Will you still create your great roms on some other site ???

Please consider this my request to try your future new ROM. Hope it works out. If not, I understand and will continue to on Black 2.0 which has been been more than what I have expected, turning my Hermes to a productive machine. I tried black, so I can't go back.

Why not create a rom you like best yourself, ignore the things people say here and post it.
If they want it different, then they have to make it themselves or stop complaining.
Really like your roms and hope there will be lots more

Not so traumatic, i think.
JJ, like any cocker, need one site with his rules to work fine for all, so i understood the way he will take.
But don't worry, other cockers, LVSW for instance, make his work outside XDA, and the results for his work arrives to all

The long awaited return of a Custel Rom?

Folks,
Custel asked me to post here to gauge interest in a new Rom. For those that've used his previous builds we know they are rock solid and have just the right amount of stuff in them.
I understand that he has been very busy at work, etc so I guess he wants to see if the effort he puts into a new Rom would be worth it.
Chime it, and let the f##ker know that we WANT one, we NEED one and we await his triumphant return!
Remember -- as in Florida elections: Vote Early, and Vote Often!

i used in the past Custel rom and i liked it
if Custel want to make another rom i will be glad (i like this dud and his roms)
but i dont see any point asking him and making this type of thread
if he want to make new rom pleas welcome. but to ask and beg for new rom seams to me un appropriate

He has been away for a while, some chefs are already abandoning Hermes for Kaiser.
I asked what his plans are, and he said he'd like to see IF there's still interest here.

One MAY ask. Lack of activity if Custel wasn't around, so he decided to let it die. I'm not sure if new rom means he'll revive tri-syn or just manage it on here.

theres no such thing as too many roms!
and a lot of chefs have moved on to newer devices.

His beta is a bit slow and old compared to the newer work by CRC and abusalza..

Well if you are new to this i recmmend you go slowly...
You can star by flashing one of the best ROMs i've ever found... It's a WM 1.0 ROM from the late eghties...
Start with this one and the keep flasig your device with different ROMs untill you reach the laters ROMs with the laters WM6.1 Cores... 20275 for instance.
You will have to flash something like 500 ROMs or more...
Good luck and le tthe flashing begin.
Before you flash read the Wiki form top to bottom, before you trash your device.
That question you just posted is similar to finishing high school, adressing a college teacher and asking him which ater shuold you get so you can be a boss...

didn't the provious skins come from the dev and hac section? You might want to check there, 'cause I remember reading a while back that the person that made those would make others upon request. Maybe he'll make some for you.!

(REQ) New Ozzy Telstra Rom

Can someone with a valid serial number either post it here, or pm me, or upload the new Telstra rom (ROM Version:1.93.841.0) from HTC Australia? My TP2 is unbranded and I am on Telstra - so my official serial wont work.

I'm hoping they release a Swedish version of the ROM soon... Or... what exactly is Telstra? Is just an update for a specific supplier?
But... Whats new in this ROM and why the hell doesn't the write it on their site?

Telstra is a service provider so its a bloated rom. I just needed it for work. Haven't had a chance to flash it yet - I'll let you know just how "bloated" it is when I get a chance.

A blaoted rom is one that has a lot of service provider CRAP. For instance, I am on TmoUS, and my rom came with at least 5 apps that I never used in the past, am not using now, and will never use in the future...Most of this crap appeals to someone who isn't very techie and isn't aware of the amazing abilities of these devices. Sometimes said bloatware runs in the background whether you want it to or not.
Think of it like this...
A Shelby AC Cobra 427 is automobile perfection...then someone get the bright idea to add crap to it. Maybe a crappy muffler, perhaps changes to the struts and suspension. It slows down the beast of a motor, maybe even makes it sputter and backfire a bit, it doesn't handle a curve as well...
This is bloatware...they take a device that is really good, then they add their own crap to it which slows it down, lags it out, and makes it run inefficiently.

Yep. The previous post is about right. It's full of crap that you never use. Someone will probably strip it soon enough if its worth it. I only need it for work/warranty reasons.

Actually yes full of Telstra advertising... now with telstra some links are useful (most are not foxtel etc) but must say nowhere near locked down as their 6.1 effort... working fine so far and to my surprise after 6.1 slowness not much if any slower than the HTC 6.5 had on device before flashing... will look for reg edits to clean up further.... so likely to keep if GPS works as good as 6.1 (really fast locks) as GPS was slow to lock on HTC 6.5
