Hi,
I have imate jasjam and using schap's WM6 4.31 ROM. Recently from last few days appointments keep on advancing by few hours randomly and sometimes they recorrect automatically. I have tried the following things with no luck:
1. Stopped activesync with pc for few days to see if that was the problem
2. Stopped data connection for few days
3. did not add any appointment for 2 days
4. tried with / without spb mobile shell 2
5. Reflashed jasjam original rom / Hard reset
6. Reflashed schap's rom / Hard reset
Yet the problem persists. During all these the time of the pocketpc never changes, and i never click on the visiting timezone in the clock settings.
Has anyone faced this situation or anyone knows what the problem is??
Thanks,
Stok Guru
PS I have already tried going to Dialer->Menu->Option->TimeZone->Automatic TimeZone box is unchecked.

Weird... I used Schap's 4.31 ROM for quite some time heavily using calendar, apoitments, etc... and I never had such problem...
I am sorry but I can't help you... I wish I could.
Cheers.
try using your device with another SIM card or without a SIM card for some time and watch the results.
could you please make a list of the application installed on your device?
have you applied the MS Daylight Savings Patch to your device? DST has been changed in certain timezones so the appointments that fall into the period between the old DST and new DST tend to shift by an hour.
If you want to try it, search for WMDST2008-1.CAB
Seems SIM is creating the problem
I did try without the SIM and it has stopped the problem. So I guess my carrier is sending me some thing that screws things.
Will have to sort this out with the carrier.
Thanx anyways to all u guys who have tried to help especially farres.

Have you unchecked the Automatic change time zones option in the dialler options? Go to dialler / options / time zones tab.
Oops...just realised that you tried that. Thats a tough one you have there....

Hey guys,
I recently upgraded my T-Mobile UK MDA Compact III to WM6.
I now have an intermittent problem with the GPRS/Internet. Basically, if fails to connect.
From what I've read, I think I need to delete my current connection settings, and then run the CAB from the WM5 Rom.
Has anyone on T-Mobile UK, done this with success? If so, can you point me in the direction of the CAB file you used?
Cheers,
Tim
I just set mine up manually.
Go to T-Mobile Website, click on phone support
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/phone-support/
enter your phone number and follow instructions for setting up MMS and you get a .pdf with instructions to set up both GPRS and MMS.
Delete any current settings and follow the above instructions.
I too am getting these issues. I have recently upgraded to the WWE dopod WM 6 rom (official HTC release) 3.7.707.1. I started to notice that if my phone was out of reception for any amount of time GPRS would fail to reconnect until a soft reset was performed. I have added the radio 02.94.90 to try and resolve this but no joy. I have added the GPRS settings exactly as per the TMob site again no joy. GPRS Auth is set to PAP which I think is correct.
One point to note is that I have not installed any items from the Dopod ext rom.
Once I have soft reset the connection will be fine until I lose reception again.
Hi,
Same issue here with all WM6 ROMs I've tried so far (to at least some extend). Most noticable is irritating behavior in Google Maps with WM6. In WM5 when the connection is unavailable the GPS tracking just continues till data comes in again. In WM6 the result is an error message. It's one of the reasons that makes me consider going back to WM5 for quite a while now. New features are nice but if old ones aren't at least as solid as before it makes no sense when you need them.
Recently I bumped into the every same issue you describe (requiring a soft reset) with B&B 3.7.. Which is a step worse in terms of stability then what I experienced before. At the same time there have been periods that I don't bumb into the issue. So I'm not sure what the cause is. My guess is that it's triggered when you've been in a bad reception area for some time.. But I don't have any hard facts to confirm the exact trigger of the problem.

I thought i'd try hard resetting my phone today to see if it would help but still no joy. the problem appears to affect voice as well as data and only occurs after at least 15 - 20 mins out of reception.
any ideas folks? I would go back to wm5 but the tmobile rom isn't available.
Hi All,
I have thesame problem previously with my Wizard. Found out that one my today plug-in is the culprit. The plug-in is "Battery Status Today ......" the one that shows the , Operator's name, speed, temp, V, A etc of your PPC on the today screen.
I dunno whether this is true and working for anyobe but in my case, my GPRS back to normal after after disable the plug-in. You can try the same too.
Other way, is to disable all non-standard today plug-in, test your Egde/GPRS with connect and disconnect(pressing the red button for more than 3seconds).
Activate one plug-in at a time and do the same test. Hopefully, you can indentify the problem and solve it.
regards,
morisa
Downloading the O2 ROM to see if that helps.. I have a feeling it might resolve this issue (fingers crossed!). I will post back here if it does.
Cheers
Alex
Once off the tube this morning my phone connected straight up and downloaded my emails. I hope I'm not speaking too soon but I think the O2 ROM has resolved the issue which would suggest it is a bug in the Dopod SEA ROM.
I will probably get the radio upgraded to 02.94.90 at some today and test that too.
Cheers
Alex
02.95.90 is now available
HI Guys!
I want to know if is there any WM6 rom that don't have the 'no wake up from sleep' problem. I rely a lot on my TyTN and is annoying some times to try to turn it on and realize it's hang and i missed a lot of important calls.
I tested two WM6 roms, and they got lot of issues. One got the "lost SD" problem and now I'm using Faria Superclean 3. Very good rom, but sometimes it dont wake up right. (the fix out there dosn't help)
I haven't had a SOD incident since going to my latest ROM which is based on the "official" build (CE 5.2.1437 build 17944.0.3.1). While cooking this ROM, I took great pains to leave the production power management software intact (including the "older style" battery status cpanel plugin).
I'm guessing that M$ fixed this issue and that all ROMs directly derived from the official build that haven't had the power management software modified either won't experience SOD at all or will exhibit greatly reduced SOD frequencies.
Never had that problem on vp3G 3.0

How much time do you tested it? I got weeks without this problem and suddenly it happens twice in a day
shagratt any luck? have you found a fix?
from my understanding the problem was if you had your pop mail setting to automatically check for new mail, and it did it while the hermes was sleeping, it wouldn't wake up. when i put my settings to manual i stopped having the problem. what we need is for someone to confirm with the official wm6 rom or att wm6 rom if this problem still exist. if it doesn't then i'll think about switching from black 3.0.1. to something newer.
No issue with Dopod official ROM
Haven't had any SOD since running the official Dopod WM 6.0 since about a month ago. My ActiveSync settings are "As items arrive" always.
I did have it on a number of xda-forum builds previously on the same hardware and same microSD card ... so the official WM 6.0 seems to have fixed it.

I dont use mail on the hermes
But my Weather home plugin perhaps is trying to update its data. Now I'm testing the settings to update it manually. (no hangs since I write this post)
What's annoy me is that I can be months without this and then it begin to happens frequently : o /
Since moving to the Dopod and official HTC rom I've had zero SOD's. I was getting them every hour at one point on black and on LSVW.
Neil.
SOD issues
Strangely enough, I didnt start experiencing SOD issues UNTIL I switched to the newer roms based on the "official" WM6 Rom...I had it with VP3G and eventually loaded Satin and the problems continued. Most of my problems seemed to be centered around shortcuts I had on my today screen for programs loaded on my sd card. After "waking" and trying to run some of the shortcuts it would take several tries or it would cause lockups or SODs. Boz pointed me to the following patch which has seemed to fix all the sd card shortcuts problems as well as the SODs I was experiencing. The only thing that seems to still cause SODs for me is if I am trying to download a large file directly to the sd card via the internet and the phone goes into standby it will still cause the SOD. But realistically I wouldnt be downloading large files like that very often, and if I have to I can just connect my usb charger or ac charger to make sure it doesnt go into standby.

I use 3g's WM6 and never had the SOD until I installed a podcast collector (smart-rss). Then, every morning when I woke up I had to play the game to get the phone working. Finally found it was easier to just hard reset and reload from the nightly backup that seems to still work. About a week ago I uninstalled SmartRSS and it hasn't had the SOD since. Certinly seems like the common thread here is for the phone to be doing data transferes while it is asleep.
Had a SOD once with Schaps 3.57a and it turned out that it was a
corrupted cemail.vol file which caused the trouble. After SR it started
first fine and than hung everytime when accessed the Messagin file
cemail.vol. After I created a new one on storage card and pointed
to it in registry and SR, deleted the old corrupted one the problem
did never occur since today. Puuuhhh...
I am absolutely sure that all SODs come from any corrupted databases
or incompatible programs which cause wakeup issues. The trick is to
find out what application is the culprit

I tried a couple WM6 ROMS on my unlocked M700 (inc. Bepe and standard DOPOD) and both had the same major issue - most nights, and after most (but not all) soft resets, the M700 would lose some of settings, most importantly the user/password entries for the GPRS connection and for the Exchange mail server. Other details, like the APN and Exchange server names, stayed intact.
Obviously it got a little annoying having to reconfigure these every morning before I could do some work, so went back to WM5 using the "Orange Backup" ROM. It's been fine since (4 days so far).
Anyone seen this before, and know of a cure?
Hi,
we are many to have this problem on TRINITY (Any ROMS) , you'll find a long THREAD about this in last month , whith differents solutions explained.
concerning me, as suggested in the thread,
- I disabled the taskManager inculded in the ROM (so X button works normal)
-i set up all my accounts/parms (mails,wifi,3G..) then I SWITCH OFF the phone (not reset)
When doing these 2 two things i don't have the prob anymore, but i guess just one is usefull in fact .
So i Still wait for someone finding really what the probleme and best FIX.
SP
Thanks. I'll try that when I'm brave enough to switch again. Found the thread you mention so I'll keep future feedback in there

I posted this in the TNT thread but thought I would start a general thread to get some ideas with this.
Anyone else having active sync problems?
I got a new handheld through warranty replacement and went through the whole process: SIM unlocking the phone, Hard SPL, flashing to factory ROM, then flashing TNT, then upgrading radio...
Worked flawlessly for 3 days...Now all of a sudden AS will not connect. You can here the connection sound and the battery will charge but AS will not kick in or attempt to connect.
I've tried it on 3 different computers...and still nothing.
My questions are:
1) Is there a registry hack or a place that I look in the registry or possibly a missing ROM file???
2) I started using a non-ATT and non-HTC wall charger...could this have caused it?
There are the programs I have installed:
SPB Mobile Shell 2; SPB Pocket Plus 4.0.1; SPB Phone Suite; SPB Insight; Battery Status with Clock Skin; Today Agenda; PocketWeather 2.0.7; IM +; ePoctrates (with auto-update enabled); a few paramedic programs; and google search.
Has anyone seen compatibility issues with these programs and WM 6.1?
I have done the tick and untick in the USB to PC connection setting tab and that was a NO GO....also tried completely uninstalling and then re-installing AS 4.5 and soft resets...
I've never had this issue.
If I can't get it figured out, I guess I'll re-flash....again...
Thanks in Advance,
Jim
FIXED IT!!!
Had to use MemMaid to "recreate activesync".
Jim
im having this problem too but i cannot install anything on this phone because my phone(8525) stopped recognizing memory cards =( even after upgrading my rom.
Hello,
I've got a bit of a problem here. Few weeks ago we changed time because of the Daylight Saving, my mobile didn't do it automatically because every time I restart it changes the timezone to (GMT+2) Windhoek, and not the Sofia timezone (it seems they don't change time there. I've fixed that, but the problem is that, with the time change, the device changed the time of my appointments. When I edit them, it still says 9:30, but it sets the appointment for 10:30. Any suggestion how to repair that? I'm using Schap's 4.30 ROM, and I'll update to 4.31 now (I've done it some time ago, but had problems, that's why I dongraded to 4.30).
I've had similar problem.
Key issue was the Automatic Time Zone change on mobile phone settings, because it seems that not all mobile provider use a good setting. So I unchecked it, and change it myself.
Moreover, in fact you have TWO parameters; first one is your timze zone and second one is the time by itself.
As soon as you will upgrade to the very good Schap's 4.31, first adjust your TimeZone and then you time and when you will synchronise with Outlook erything will be OK.
Regards
Yep, I've done some experimenting and done that, it works now, thanks.
Yes, even though its a real PIA, I always turn off Auto Time Zone from my provider and manually set it. I even manually change to a different time zone and back if it originally got it's info from the carrier before I setup my ActiveSync.
I posted this a while back regarding this.
So, where do I find the setting to disable my Imate JASJAM to get time zone info from my carrier?

Settings\Personal\Phone\Time Zones. If you don't see that tab it's most likely not enabled....
