Thank you rajivshahi for your answer and attention.
I had try all the methods that I find in hole of internet!!
also I tried your suggstted method. I was connect my phone with ans without SIM and memory to each USB port of my (and another) PCs, I changed my USB cable for several times, I also tried Uni_bootloader program and MTTY but they didn't work (because there is no USB connetion with my UNI and my PC)
I just keep crying!!!!!!
Have you tested doing Doc format?
Hope it helps,
If the device is not recognised by PC at the same time as Serial not changing to USB, I would think your USB port is no longer attached as it should and can cause the problem you described. From time to time USB port might still feel and look secure on mainboard, it will even charge the device, however, when it comes to AS and USB connection to PC, it will not connect properly.
That, or your PC USB or motherboard are malfunctioning. Try other USB devices in the same ports.
My PC's USB ports are work properly because as you told enigma1nz, I had test them with another devices
For the DOC format method: there is no USB port for connecting with MTTY!
Soooooo amazing!
(thanks for all your answers)
So, it means there is no way for me
hey,
have you disabled (unckeck) USB connection for ActiveSync/WMDC at PC?
do it now or USB port will not be available for mtty.
also please make sure that you installed XP sync driver under vista incase you're trying from vista.
follow the same -
1. unckeck USB connection for as/wmdc at pc
2. reset the device by pressing reset button
3. set bl mode (if not there already)
4. connect usb cable
5. start mtty ...
Hi Tomal, first I have to say: Thank you for your amazing roms. they are so fast, nice and stable. I'm one of the biiiig fan of your roms.
seconed: yes I was disabled the USB connection and also kill ir from task manager. but my Uni is still deeaaaaaaad
somehow I have a feeling that something is wrong with the usb port in device. may be connection is broken or something...
Hi everyone,
finally I had to send my Universal to doctor! , he says that I can load your device from SD card, and boot up it, (flashing card)
!!
I was wondered! what is flashing card! (load from SD card without any PC!)
Do any one have some information about this method!!!!

Yep, it does look like your device's USB being a culprit.

or i just have to change my universal mainboard!!!!?
Finally I beleve that my Uni is dead and I have to say goodbye to it
I'm going to buy HTC Advantage X7510, but there is one question:
Can I upgrade its WM 6.1 to 6.5 ?
I hard-SPLled my device and unpreded ROM Miri v3.0 on it. After the upgrade the device could not connect to my PC via ActiveSync or Mobile Center.
I tried with several PCs, laptops and many cables.
It should be 'soft'ware, since the problem started after ROM upgrade.
So, I figured it was because of the ROM, so downgraded to official 6.1 ROM, but connecting is still not possible. The official ROM included bootloader, radio and OS, btw.
Now I am stuck with a device that cannot connect to any PC! I always get a message of an unknown device that connects, later on followed by a message of an unknown USB device.
And yes, tried to remove the speed-up of ActiveSync. Also tried as USB storage, but I get the unknown USB device all the time...
Please help, I don't know what to try now!
Try a different USB cable. Might be a good idea to buy a brand new one. They tend to go corrupt easily.

Have you tried using a differant usb port? I had to do that with a miri rom on my "old" Blackstone. I did have trouble with miri roms doing that on my Touch HD,for some strange reason.
You could also go to the threads in that forum and read what people have done to remedy that problem on the HD, as it should also work on our Tilt 2.
Later..............

try rebooting your pc, also try a different usb port on your comptuer and then try another usb cable. i have read somewere that some computers do not put out enough voltage on the usb ports, so this said, after you try the previous suggestions grab your cable and try another computer, after you install activesynce of course .
Thanks for thinking with me!
I tried several PCs, so, yes, different USB ports.
Also tried several cables that proved to be ok with other devices, including one ExtUSB cable.
Of cause resetted PCs before connecting and first installing ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center (depending on OS: WinXP or Vista)
When connecting to USB connections that worked before now sometimes the Touch tells me there is insufficient power... That's strange too! It would mean the device needs more than 500mA in some cases (because it's the only device connection to the USB) - but this is on more USB ports of different computers!
So I tried everything qua hardware... Don't know what to do now.

Have you considered -- or tried -- flashing to a different ROM via the sd-card method? The method where you put the RHODIMG.nbh file in the root of your sd card (by removing card and using a card reader attached to PC), then put the TP2 in bootloader and it flashes the new ROM from the sd card...something like that?
I probably didn't describe this quite right -- I haven't done it myself -- but lots of people prefer this rom-flashing method. Find/check-out the procedure elsewhere on this forum.
If it works then maybe you'd get away from the problem-rom...if the rom is really the problem.
Hey there.
Ok I have a problem. I have had my touch pro 2 for about 6 months now and i am really happy with it, but recently i have ran into a problem.
My phone won't connect to my computer anymore! Not just my computer... no computer at all. Not just activesync, no, it doesn't recognise it at all, not even as a disk drive.
I doubt its the cable because it does charge, and i have tried another cable (not a htc cable but its a cable with the same plug, its from my external harddrive) and it still didn't work.
I also tried a hard-reset on my phone, but still... nothing.
Ive read somewhere that you should push the usb connector a bit up, i did that, but nothing (now the usb connector seems wiggly... glad it still charges though) i have no idea what it could be and i thought i'd post here first before going back to the dealer with it. Because without usb connection i can't install costum roms and that we wouldn't want that, do we?
Well, hope one of you guys can help!
That's very strange I have had it once, but that was due to the rom I used. I flashed another rom and it worked again.
What you could try is to download a new rom and put it on your sd car using this:
http://www.julien-manici.com/windows_mobile_wifi_remote_access/
This let's you put stuff on your mobile using wifi. It's worth a try.
But you have to install roms directly from your pc to your phone, while being connected to USB right? The standards htc roms for example can only be installed that way i think... or can you also copy the .exe to your device and run that?
i'll give it a go when i get home. Thanks =]
I am having the same issue here. All of a sudden my PC or Laptop doesn't see the phone at all but it does charge with no issues. When I plug it in I don't even get the sound that the PC knows something was jut plugged into it.
go to settings - connection - usb to pc - untick the enable faster synchronization box
that should do it
As long as you have Hard SPLed your Rhodium you should be able to use the sd card method to install a rom instead of using the PC and usb connection.
You copy the rhodium.nbh file to the root directory of an sd card formatted FAT32 and then boot into bootloader - volume down and power button when off.
Follow the onscreen prompts...
Cheers...

What's interesting with my Tilt2 (not the OP) was that I wanted to flash my ROM with the new AT&T "unofficial" ROM and that's when I found out I couldn't tether. I basically just wanted to tether my phone so I could put that new ROM onto the phone to see if I could make it more reliable and faster. Sigh.
it actually might be the cord...
The same exact thing happened to me... my phone charged with the cord but no computer recognized it...
I bought a new usb cable from radio shack and viola it worked again... so I advise u just trying a new one and if it doesn't work take it back... but try the unchecking the "check for faster sync" box first like someone said bc that do stop it from being recognized sometimes...

Yes, this has (almost) always fixed the issue for me. Somehow WDC becomes blind to new device inserts after you plug-unplug them several times.
Slow but stable is better.
I was trying to put the hum/hiss sound fix on my sd card and I cannot get my pc to connect via USB...
My wife has a TP2 and it connects fine...
I have tried with/without the sd card in, rebooted the pc and phone, rebooted the phone while connected to the pc.... nothing...
wtf...
anyone else with this problem?
PS... NRGZ28 had posted a very basic rom for booting to android back in Feb and it is now gone from hotfile. Anyone know of a quick boot into android?
- Try a different computer
- Try a hard reset
That are the first thing you should do.
Tried hard reset...
Dif PC is not an option at the moment... I have rebooted...
Just flashed the ROM (NRGZ newest, thank goodness I had it on my SD card) and I still cant get it to sync...
I have attached the USB error I am getting... (Win7, new install)
The phone is not asking if I want to active sync or use as storage???? wtf...

Reboot your PC? lol bet your tried that already...
Try this:
settings > connections > usb to pc > and disable Faster Data Sync then try. This way uses the generic usb drivers and maybe it will connect.
That did not work...
How do I get my Win7 laptop to see the phone with Android on it?

dont think thats working yet
Ya I don't think that works yet, it's tied to Android software drivers and the use of the USB port, since there is no drivers to control the port only to charge battery. Windows thinks there is something there, but the phones USB can't communicate back....I think this is the issue or at lease after playing around with it on my phone anyway
Not that it's a huge amount of help but might troubleshoot down to the hardware level...if you go into bootloader mode on the phone and connect to USB does it connect?
I don't think you should go that deep and dirty. My touch pro 2 works only with only 1 (non-HTC) cable of the 10 i have at home, all are the "standard" mini-USB but only one works flawlessly for communicating/flashing/syncing, the other cables either do the same error - device not recognized - or windows says that the device could communicate faster - and only copies files slowly.
All in all: you should simply check with another USB cable or if you have the factory HTC cable try it with that. I noticed that the cable i am using other than the HTC one is a very good quality thick (low-resistance and double-shielded) USB cable and it never failed on me.
One other thing you should definitely watch for: plug the USB cable into the motherboard USB port directly (on the back of the PC where you plug the keyboard, mouse etc.), sometimes PC cases with front panel USB outputs simply die, or are wrongly attached to the motherboard USB header and it can cause the aforementioned problems too, not to mention if it is wrongly attached it could harm your phone too.
I have an old Rhodium100 recent days and i found it could only charged when connect to usb.
I have tried to enter bootloader, but only see serial not usb.
Also i tried the usb settings in the phone and nothing helps.
I search in the forum and see many similar problems and many solution is to repair the usb jack by HTC. Someone point out that use a canned air may help..
But the phone is so old that i'm sure it's out of warrant...
What's the best solution?
Thx~
What's more, usb is not that important for me since i could have the data transfer by wifi & google exchanges, have sd card to flash new roms.
But what i care is one day the nand android success and must i use usb to connect my phone to flash it?
