I have a Diamond running the Asian ROM (1.34.831.1 WWE) and noticed the European ROM Image (1.35.401.3) was available. What is the difference between these two images, and is the European image "newer" than the Asian or just a different version since it's a different locale?

its not really newer, just some minor HTC changes, nothing to write home about.
Thanks for the response. I was hoping some of the tweaks, like the screen turning off during a phone call (tried every mod in the forums...none worked) might work if I was running the European version instead of Asian. As I understand it though...I can't flash to this image since HardSPL does not work on my ROM image just yet.

i tested RUU_Diamond_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.93.707.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe
Is very fast but with band 1900 + 800 only
The 3 digits don't mean a thing...
It serves only to distinguish between countries...
What matters is the 1.93, and then the last digit.
Example:1.93 = version of the rom; XXX= country; 1 = revision of this version.
This means that 1.93.401.1 is equal to 1.93.405.1. However, 1.93.401.2 is newer than 1.93.405.1
Summary: onlt the first 3 digits and the last digit matter...the other 3 are only country reference.

have you not found the perfect rom yet???
which one are you using at the moment?

I'm using oficial european 1.93.401.1 WWE.
I try all cooked roms, but in the end, the performance is almost the same as the originals, and the bugs on the cooked ones don't compensate the slight diference on performance...

Funny ERROR CODE when updating ROM 1.37 to 1.93
I just downloaded the new ROM image from HTC's Asian website as my Diamond Touch was bought in Hong Kong. Much to my surprise, right after showing that the procedure had started and was at 1%, I got the following error message:
HDa4-DJCP5567-HUEbc58:-DJCP55670
Has anyone seen this error message, so far? Any clue if there is a work around?
My Phone has the following Info
Touch Diamond P3700 Qualcomm (R) 7201A
ROM: 1.37.456.2 WWE
ROM DATE: 06/19/08
RADIO VERSION: 1.00.25.03
PROTOCOL VERSION: 52.26a.25.09H
The hong kong one is actually different from the usual Asian version. 1.93.831.1 WWE for hong kong i believe.
The asian one you have is 1.93.707.1 right? Some how you have a Europe/middle eastern set. You can either replace it with a corresponding ROM for that region, or hardspl it, then flash to whatever region you want.
Side note though, anyone experiencing a much shorter battery life with the 1.93? Mine went from borderline 2 days usage with 1.37 to about 24 hrs..
I've not messed with it too much. Just disabled the threaded sms and enabled wake on sms. Others are just settings for gsm etc.. Shouldn't be that much of a battery drain
I did not know that - cheers

Indeed deadsea! You nailed it. Although I downloaded it from HTC's HK English site, some how I wound up with the 1.93.707.1 ROM. I tried to find the 831 ROM but didn't find at HTC web site. Any clue where I could download it from?
Thanks

All the stuff you need are there. You'll probably need to Hardspl it first to flash to a non-europe rom. I don't think you can flash a rom from another region, regardless of it being an official RUU or not.
In case you need instructions on hardspl and stuff

Hi everyone,
I am living in Israel and bought my Diamond from US via network supplier.
I just upgrade RUU from 1.37.707.1 WWE to 1.93.401.2 WWE.
How can I know what is the best Performance RUU for my Diamond?
It seems that there are several RUU that could be suitable (ASIA-WWE, EUROPE, WWE, WWE-ME).
Are the RUU numbers (i.e 1.93.xxx.x) indicates RUU ver? meaning the higher is the most update?
Thanks in advance.
somebody? why is nobody replying?
Hi, look at this link : here or here

I think your confused. RUU (ROM Update Utility) is software used to flash your device from a PC. I don't see how it's performance would effect your Diamond. BUT ROMs on the other hand have everything to do with performance and are the version numbers you mention. Its up to the user to determine which preforms the best for them, on their device. also 1.93 is a current ROM version and is obviously newer then 1.34 or 1.37. I also recommend reading and searching. its not up to us to find what is right for you!
RUU = Rom Upgrade Utility
What you are talking about is ROM.
The higher number in a rom version usualy means newer.
You can have a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406640
But since performance is somehow subjective, the best way to find the fastest rom is to test them and choose your favorite.

Has anyone tried the Official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM Upgrade for the i780? It is found at thi link:
http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/i780/index.jsp
You can use "BVHF1" as the SGH-i780 Version. It also has a link for the samsung drivers for windows vista. Down below there is a button "View In Detail" beside [ Upgrade Instructions ], if you try to look at the screenshots, it says SHG-i780 6.1 OS Updater on the title bar.
According to some forums and reputable websites it is the official 6.1 upgrade for the i780 but the problem is it is only for Italy, Nordic and UK. I'm wondering if it is compatible with the asian versions of the i780. Is there a difference with the physical keyboard?
I guess it's not that important anymore since Windows Mobile 6.5 will be released sometime Q3/Q4 of this year. There are phones already manufactured for WM6.5 and pictures are already out in the internet. I'm not sure if it's legit but looks like they are. At least there's an official WM6.1 update for i780.
Wm6.1 upgrade
Hi
I tried this, but my version is DXHA1, its unbranded.
When io downloaded the software using your instrcution, and I ran it, it said incorrect version
Help
any idea when comes german version ?
Samsung i780 Official WM6.1 ROM
Ok, I called Samsung, its only for orange customers no one else
It is possible to flash Orange Rom
You have to Hex edit official rom with the country/operator specific code of your current rom. That way, when you are flashing Orange rom it will think that you have the future version of you current rom and it will not complaint.
Search forum. You may use Hxd (use this as a keyword for search) editor or another hex editor.
I used Orange rom for a while. It has improved battery life over V5X HH5 (EFN Rom) however no messenger and other preloaded goodies of v5x hh5.
BTW there is a newer (official) version than the orange rom. Just peek at newer threads.
alpusm
This is so lame
I bought mine unlocked off of expansys, and therefore the stupid update download tells me it's the wrong version. If I flash it with the Orange rom, will I have problems with sim locking or anything? I hope the installer doesn't have the same restrictions.
I can't believe I pay full price for a phone and get this sort of service.
No problem
You may flash with the Orange rom or never HL1 or HL2 rom. Updater is available here on forum for these roms. Like I said before you will need to hex edit rom files to be able to flash. Or, as an alternative, you may flash one of the "modded" versions of those roms (bin files) with mirage updater (mirage does not check any code), then update with the original updater because updater will think that you are upgrading from the same operatoır/country code.
BTW you wont have any problems with sim or device lock. Mine was a generic unbranded WWE rom and updated/tried all these roms and did now have any lock problems.
what version do i have
what does one mean by version? i have an unbranded one. are versions things like suppliers? tmobile o2 and stuff
cheers

I know this is old as heck but does this upgrade works for any Samsung i780? Or is it just for the Asian-Pacific i780? Thanks!
Hi all,
my version is i780jchb1 (south africa). Can I install the UK rom on it please??
My OS is in Danish so i tried the link and chose Nordic, then it wants me to put in the phone model, so i do that and then it takes me to the official samsung page (samsungmobile.com) where the only thing i can download is the manual and activesync for windows 2k/xp.
I have essentially bad luck buying these phones. On my blackstone, i was able to work around it using USPL. Now, the rhodium i have, it's S/N doesn't work on any of the HTC download pages
i need help with diffusing the bootloader screen. What should i use to upgrade this phone to WM 6.5? I got the official rom from HTC in the end but can't use that cause i get "invalid vendor id".
Bootloader screen details:
Code:
RHOD100 32M SS-BC
SPL-0.79.0000
MicroP-Rhodium (LED) vA
MicroP-Rhodium (KEY) v4
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA
509,527 807,841
815,194 207,200
212,840 Calibrated
Why don't you just HardSPL and skip the s/n number hassle? You can still flash official ROMs with HardSPL, but you don't have to worry about which variant of the Rhodium the official ROM was made for (with the exception of the Russian ROM because of the region locking used). You can flash the stock HTC 6.5 ROM when you're HardSPLed or use one of the many excellent cooked ROMs this forum has to offer.

not actually my phone to hardspl cause it's my stepdad's. it's also the reason i need to use the offical
note: the phone is the 3g version
Where did you buy it from? try the HTC site from where you bought it from not where you are now, if no luck than you have to HARDSpl it, .. and BTW .. if you HARDSpl and installed an official ROM, the phone will be relocked to my knowledge (i.e. it is like you never HARDSpl after you install the official ROM)

Can you do something for us? Pull out the battery and look closely under where the battery was for the text RHODXXX, where XXX is a number like 100. Post that number here, and we can figure out what model of Rhodium you have, since there is no "3G Rhodium" model. It only really depends whether you have a CDMA-GSM hybrid or GSM only device, since HardSPL (if you want to use it) differs in versions based on that alone. The link I provided earlier in this thread holds all the information you'll need to know about HardSPLing your device (once again, only if you choose to do so). At least knowing your model number will let you know which HTC official ROM to download.
has this line under the BT symbol: HTC Touch Pro2 T7373 RHOD100
the phone connects to the optus 3G network. it has the HSPDA icon when your browsing on the net
Nice to see a fellow Aussie around. As far as I now there are two versions of the Rhodium floating around in Oz. Only one of which has an official WM 6.5 rom on the HTC website. The NextG 850mHz compatible model is still waiting for an official 6.5 rom to be released but Telstra and HTC are apparently working on it.
From the HTC website:
An updated ROM is now available for HTC Touch Pro2 users to download. As always, HTC is committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience. Please note that there are two versions of Touch Pro2 in Australia, and this ROM update is suitable for phones operating on the 900/2100 MHz network. ROM update for phones on the Next G network will be available soon.

Well, I would like to know if there are differences in the different radios of firmware versions.
See, my device originally came with O2 firmware. Now It's S-Off and I don't have any O2 software on it.
Now would it result in better calling quality, sound etc. when flashing the o2 radio over some custom variant ?
