new rom - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Hi i have t-mobile mda compact 3. I would like to know which wm 6.1 rom with touch flow, cube and very few if any extra bundled software will be most appropriate considering stability and performance along with memory. I know it sounds too much to ask for but a practical compromise. I will be greatful!

wait for tom's oOps black final release
oOps beta s available but it have some bug
otherwise it s stable and fast.

Artemis is outdated

there is no update for artemis scence laste 4 month. No great rom or any update, the latest rom is just change in colour and graphic for touch 4.02
so i think Atremis is outdated.
The rom builders might abandone ship beucouse its lack in "power" if ur doing a job that takes alot of time i guess u want to make it as cool as u can and i have to say even thoug i like my p3300 i wish it had more built in memory faster cpu but for most a better lcd with higher resolution.
and why HTC dosent make updates isn´t that hard to figure out they gave us wm 6 but now they want us to buy new devices and i can say that i am probblebly buy one later becouse i really like my p3300 and hope that the newer modells will be as nice (but more powerfull)

nah i think it's probably cause they have other devices they are tinkering with at the same time.
as far as power, i got one i traded fro my MDA pro ( yea i know it's not vga but it's fun to play with when i'm not messing with my Ameo ) and it seems to be just fine
Battery status plugin ( look in the Prophet forum) works great on it and allows overclocking to the respect that it speeds up the device greatly. don't overclock too far or will cause crash's but find that sweet spot above the orig cpu clock speed and it does make a diffrence
what are you talking about.
This here came out at the beginning of this month.

Whether you want to face up to it or not, the Artemis is getting out of date. Its been available for at least 18 months possibly even more, and the new version was released a few months back so that can't make it much clearer! (HTC Polaris\Touch Cruise\whatever you want to call it.) They are constantly coming up with more powerful phones which are able to run better software so its obvious things are going to be out of support eventually. Get a decent 'Vanilla' rom, load what software you want on there and just be happy with it because I've had mine nearly 18 months now and its had the same rom on there for the past 5 or so. Once its setup how you need it why bother flashing other roms because they look a bit nicer.
well the cooking rate did fall a bit,but that's because meschle retired...now is time when new cookers learn and gain experience
so be patient
and comparing to other devices artemis roms are the best for me,i have a hermes, atom, magician and himalaya and no rom can match artemis's especially meschle's roms (apps, tweaks, functionality, balance between speed and memory)

TouchFlo V Samsung's TouchWiz

Has anyone used the newer TouchWiz? -I played around on a Samsung S5230 and it is REALLY good. It's very fast and very user customisable, although a litlle Androidy looking. Not a hint of WinMo to be seen, An SDK is being released. I don't know how it would be for business users though.
-Sorry if it's a bit OT, but the TP2 has the latest version of TF, so I thought this the best place to ask

I'm thinking if possible to porting android 2.0 to Acer s200,
I know it's a bit difficult but exciting..
I heard that some guys have been working on porting it to HTC devices
here's a link http://www.androidonhtc.com/port_status

Me and hdubli might work on this were still deciding what to do and when to start...
Will be great to have rom with m2d but without notification manager (bulls**t) and most standart apps for it. And WM without dumb MS software and with NET CF 3.5 or 3.7.
I vote for "More features less eye candy". We have a real ferrari (F1) here and we are talking about the color of the wheels.
A fast stable version with best internet, multimedia, system apps (can be found free, around XDA) would be great for me. I bought this phone because I do not care about HTC eye candy manilla. Otherwise I would buy a HD2 to have full XDA support and flash different roms every day (like I did in the past with Artemis and Touch Pro).
But that's my opinion.
Guys, maybe u should open separate S200 forum?
Many thanks you guys,
also, a separate s200 forum, its a great idea!!!

That is what i say: i want my F1 stay F1 : no stuff, which take the phone speed...maybe some tweaks, that it runs more fast(and stable).
It need to be fast in the everyday use: internet browsing, multimedia, office, maybe games etc...
The problem on my Touch Pro was the same like frecos: everyday a new rom update and the speed wasn't so good....
And i dont need manila..i have my Mobile Shell( less RAM, more Speed, better looking)
greetz from Germany
So tune up the speed please

Touch Pro 2 or Diamond

Hello all -
I would like to know your option about the Touch Pro 2. Actually I've a Diamond and I really like it, but I'll replace it by Touch Pro 2.
What do you think about it? Is a good change? Have you did it before?
Thank you.
I went from the Diamond to the Touch Pro2. No regrets. The screensize, hardware keyboard, and performance destroys the Diamond.
But at this moment, you really have to consider the HD2. Also, with Windows Mobile 7 right around the corner, should people even still buy Windows Phones right now?
Tks ohyeahar!
When the WM7 will be ready? Will be possible to use the WM7 on the TP2.
I'll take a look the HD2.
Just another quick question:
How about the baterie performance using 3G all time?
Tks.
Go for Rhodium definitely! it´s a great device!
Of course if you are looking for a hardware keyboard upgrade, if not better to go for Diamond 2...
Orb, I'm not even sure the Diamond II is a good option... My dad has got one while I have the Rhodium. I upgraded from the original Diamond, & as someone already mentionned it, both the Diamond II & TP II blow the Diamond away.
Now, having played with the HD2 already, and being impressed by its speed, I would recommend that on too. But only if you got a pocket large enough for tht 4.3' screen, and if no keyboard suites you well.
If you want a keyboard, TP II, hands down. Hell, I wouldn't hesitate bying it full price again if god forbid, it was stolen. If you don't want a keyboard, HD2. Don't even bother with the Diamond II.

Nobody outside of Microsoft or HTC knows the answers to your questions. Target date according to leaked info points to sometime in 2010.

Battery performance is better than the Diamond. It's probably on bar with the official extended battery of the Diamond.

Android or Linux on HTC Hermes please HELP!!!

Please HELP!!!
I need a download link for htc hermes android or linux
my friend there is none, and there will never be, hermes hardware is not enough for this upgrade. best for you to stay in wm 6.1! not even 6.5!!!
Indeed, android can be run starting with the TyTN II, not with TyTN I/Hermes. Too low in memory and cpu.
I have the TYTN/Hermes. Tried wm6.5. It's nice but very memory consuming. Eventually ended up using wm6.1 roms.

never say never.. here it is running on the apache.. cdma brother of the hermes
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-apache/43753-android-release-htc-apache-cdma-works.html
I agree w/Spardorp, Hermes resources would barely run Android.
Best to use a fast wm6.1 ROM then emulate the Android look with the use of skins/themes.
Reading the link that you provided re:Apache/Android you'll note that hardly anything useful yet works.
IOW, don't hold your breath. Until there's a "working" linux kernel for the Hermes, even a sluggish Android won't happen.
I correct myself: Android may not be sluggish on Hermes, just that it IS older ARM processor for which the original Android sourcecode would have to be recompiled.

Just thought I'd say that I heard Android is a Linux distribution, or something like that. What I really heard was that Android is based on a Linux kernel. You can check for yourself here. Maybe if you got a really stripped down version of Linux you could put it on a Hermes somehow. What would be cool to is if you could modify a Hermes and install a high speed Micro SD card in side it, that can be used as RAM or something. I think they have that on a phone Called Omnia. I think it's called NAND. But anyway excuse any mistakes I have made, because I am only 11 years old.
