hi guys....im trying to upgrade to the a02 rtm wm6 rom on here....my pda is currently running one of the previously released ones.......when i get into the sd loader.....it reads for alittle...but the i get this error:
"image update fail ( 10 ) "
can anyone pls help me, thxs, shawn
fix this by replacing sd card...works great now..

I'm a usual reader of your great forums. But, for today, I have a real question to ask to community ...
I'm trying to upgrade 2 pre-production products. Artemis and StarTrek.
For both, I receive an error message at 2% of the upgrade :
ERROR [228] : INVALID FILE SIZE
The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility.

I'm tested on 3 computers, with latests releases of Activesync.
I assume the trouble is because I have a pre-prod ROM, with bootloader 0.78.
What should I do ?

All the ROM’s from the Orginal service providers are older versions (AKU 2.X)
Currently all the available ROMS here are Aku 3.X
For the Rom’s that gives you country error you would need to use “MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe” for the upgrade. For my knowledge, most of the available ROM’s here have this folder “Country_ID_Error “ in which you will find the above mentioned file. You simply copy the “nk.nbf” in to this folder and start you upgrade.
In the rom in which you receiving “sddaemon” error just go to windows/startup folder and delete the sddaemon file. For my understanding, this file is for voice commander that is not installed in Ivan’s rom.
I personally like Helmis 3.5 and Ivans AKU 3,5

As a TOTALLY new user this month - I have used an 'official' upgrade 1.30.162 to upgrade my device as I thought this would be 'safest'
(it took two 'heart in the mouth' attempts and I had to use backlight/power/reset to get it loaded)
Should I stick with 1.30.162 until I know what I am doing or is there a better ROM that work with stability ??

I have wince 2003 a05 installed in my x50v. I can't see any BIS, although it say s 128M ROM in the system information. Someone said this can be solved by changing the language. But I can't find any wince 2003 ROM (nb0 files) available online. Can anyone tell me how to solve my problem and upload required ROMs? Thanks!

To be honest, I have tried two ways two upgrade my x50v from 2k3 A05 to WM5 which is a pre-requirement for WM60:
1) use Dell's upgrade program (failed at the last step, formatting rom 30%)
2) use SD image loader with WM50 A01 Eng ROM files (failed at "erasing storage 30%)
I was just wondering if there is any hardware problem of my ROM. Maybe that's why I can't see the ROM in 2k3 A05 system.
I also tried using language change (Japanese <-> English). But it didn't work. I still can't see ROM in my system.
I even tried writing WM60 ROM directly, but also failed at "erasing storage".
Is there any software that can diagnose the ROM?

who knows from all the playing around you have done that you "muddy" up your device and causes conflicts ...etc ???
I would suggest:
hard reset your device ---That should revert it back to factory settings.
and now you can start FRESH upgrade/downgrade ...etc !!!

WM6.5 Update for Symbol MC50 does not exist. Last available update was to WM5.

I feel like I'm going crazy...anyone have any ideas on what I'm missing here?
I cannot browse to my SD card with the File Manager OR with a third party file manager.
In Memory, the only "Removable Device"s I see are "Application" and "Plantform"
When booting into IPL, I can view the files on the SD card...
I've tried FAT32 and FAT16, no difference (except oddly, FAT16 could not be read from IPL)
What could I be missing to be able to view the SD card within Windows Mobile? I know I could just manually run the .hex files in IPL...but I trust doing that.
Also, anyone with experience doing this upgrade; will I loose the Symbol Demo Applications?

I need the procedure to update the ROM from WM6.1 to Ultimate7. I have carried out Hard SPL and tried to unsert ultimate7 but the UpgradeROM Utility fails updating saying that file is currupted.
