THE LASTEST IS E1. YOU HAVE C3 THEN THERE IS IN ORDER C4, D1 AND E1

look at the last 2 digits. i know it is by month. something like a1, b..., c3,c4, d1, e1... dont know the exact month assignment system but i read about it before.
anyone have any new updates on this rom?
or we are just stuck at the moment...

To dump the i780 rom you have to do just few steps.
1) Change the security policies to install the needed utility
With a regedit sw change the value in the following key
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001
from 2 to 1
2) Download the utilities from here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom
3) open a prompt on the PC, Chdir to the directory where the utlities are previuously unpacked and type the following command
pdocread.exe –l
The output will be something like

The files are a backup of the rom but arent ready to be flashed back again with the mirage tool, you have to use other tools to obtain someting useful.

There's no need for the whole firmware since we already have the russian E1 firmware.. E1 PDA part (english..) would be plenty enough right now

Select the optional packages you would like to include to the ROM and start the build using the green button
4. Run CreateROM.bat
it is important that you see "Checked ... sectors successfully!":

Yes, you just have to replace SYS and OEM... Notice that the tools inside .\TOOLS\ and the CreateROM.bat are special Hermes things

The number changes with the size of the ROM, which in turn changes with the packages you select/deselect. The important part to watch out for the the word "successfully".

There is a base ROM, yes. It can be exchanged, although a) this is a bit more difficult, and b) the shipped ROM is the only German version existing. I also don't see much point exchanging it, as it's the same that all other ROMs are based upon, just peppered with German resource files.

i am using the HTC TyTN daily for my work, so i have no time and possibility for playing around with a lot of Firmwareupdates. As HTC is not able to deliver a real stable WM5 (where is the Aku 3.3? they promised since months!) i am thinking of helping myself.
So the "easy" question is: How stable and supporting all standardfunctions like, UMTS, SMS, MMS, Exchange, Powermanagement... is this WM6 ROM Kitchen Kit? So can you recomend it, or is it something for experimental use only?

it should be stable and it is supporting all standardfunctions... I dont have a hermes, so I can only tell what I've got as response from other users.
Just one thing, it is important that you add the OEM package for your operator.

I tried dumping the Dash rom, but can't get this way to work (in the thread about the carousel someone said this would work) http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=1203197
well, I can't get it to work cause I can't get cmd.exe to change from c:\users\username to c:\ I even tried moving the files to c:\users\username but still doesn't work. I'm using vista so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I used to use cdm.exe no problem in XP. Instead of fiddling with this though, has anyone dumped it before? Cause then I can maybe jsut get the files I want?

By the way the dash rom is available to download. You only need to dump when its a new device which hasn't had a ROM update released.

Then extract the exe and continue the viewimgfs steps in that thread using the 64mb file you extracted. I think you might need to use prepare_imgfs first actually, since the nbf is different from a raw dump, erm sorry can't remember exactly. But I have extracted XIP ROM files this way so I know it works.

I have a german O2 XDA Cosmo and there is no original ROM to find but I want to have a way back - and of course I could upload (to a secret place of course ) for all of you to try it out.
I don't know anything about the XDA so I dunno if it still works for it or not.. but this is what Hannip wrote in his post...
I'm afraid it might be too much for a newbie. First you have to make a registry change using your favorite registry editor such as Resco.
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
Then you have to download and install the itsutils package from

1. Unzip the contents of itsutils.zip on c:\itsutils
2. Connect your Treo 750 to PC using USB cable, and make sure ActiveSync is running and connected.
3. Open a command prompt on your PC (Start->Run enter cmd.exe)
4. At the command prompt cd c:\itsutils\build
5. List the rom partitions using the following command.
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread.exe -l
You should see a result such as:
Part00 0x31fc00 3199KB
Part01 0x2e0000 2944KB
Part02 0x2a80000 43520KB
Part03 0x4360000
You will be extracting Part00, Part01 and Part02.
6. Extract the parts
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part00 0 0x31fc00 Part00.raw
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part01 0 0x2e0000 Part01.raw
C:\itsutils\build>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part02 0 0x2a8000 Part02.raw
Make sure the hex starting addresses in the above commands match what was listed from step 5 for each partition before executing the commands.
If successful you should have 3 files. Part00.raw, Part01.raw and Part02.raw. Now would be a good time to zip this up and upload to the xda ftp server if you wish to make this available for others to help you.
Ftp it to ftp.xda-developers.com using USERNAME: xdaupload / PASSWORD: xda. If you've never used ftp before let me know and I'll give step by step.
7. The key partition you will be interested in is Part02.raw. It is the imgfs that contains most of the rom files. To extract the files from it you will need to download some more tools.
Dowload imgfs_tools_182.rar from this url and extract to the folder where your Part02.raw file is in.

I managed to backup my ROM with it, but I still cannot find anything how to get the ROM back to the phone...

I figured out that it wouldn't work last night, and have been trying to extract files from the exe for the WM5 upgrade. But I get to the last step and can't get it to work. I have the raw file but it won't dump it into a folder...

It works exactly as described in oplitics post - I did it recently.
Important thing is the "-nosplit" Option for prepare_imgfs and that you replace FLASHDR with DSK1: and the hex values correctly as given by pdocread -l
Although I had no luck with the files created by bkondisk

SSPL has an hermes or trinity IPL embedded, that won't work on excalibur. The hermes SSPL works on breeze because breeze & hermes IPLs are quite the same, but compare them with an excalibur IPL and you'll see what i mean.
You can probably replace the resource on the exe with an excalibur IPL, or try to contact Des for help with SSPL.

2. Flash HK ROM version 6.1.6 HK by using the official tools, download from Asus Official site or
here. This for making your boot loader to be 6.1.6 HK version. (It's the important step, unless you'll brick the device).
3. Flash my new WM6.1 Rom using the new tools. Double click the flashrom.bat and follow the instructions.
4. Wait until 100% completed and your device will reboot to new OS.
5. Copy the network configuration files back to \Windows and you can setup your GPRS, MMS configuration.
Recommended: You should not restore PIM from WM6.0 backup file. This will bring your device to unstable state.

i've been monitoring this thread for some time now...
waiting some feedback before trying flashing myself,saw few people bricked their set by flashing to 6.1, so a little bit scared

By the way, the genius that is Somphon_r has now done another 4-5 versions since this one, I am currently using Version P526_WM61_26_Clean, and radio ROM P526_Radio_445 with out any issues. Waiting for a mirror to dl wm61_27_clean as well. ( From the Thai sites)
Obviously, I may have been lucky, but Somphon, has been more than helpful, for all kind of issues. Good friend to have on your side. But you still have to flash at your own risk.

I have the official rom, but everytime i tried to flash, always give a wrong ext error.
Used to be able to fix this by editing .ini files, but its somehow not working now.
btw, also tried to remove thai initial from startup, before, threaded sms stopped working. Its working fine after i put back thai initial into startup. Something to do with font service ?

you can try d/l-ing the newer rom version (2.81) from the link i posted few days ago (pdamobiz). There are few mirrors for this version. Rapidshare for sure is working.
currently using this version, so far so good.
Unfortunately I can't get this one to work for me, every time I try to update, it errors with 'FUU has stopped working' and thats that. I might try again at the weekend.

What i did last time is: I flashed HK ROM version 6.1.6 HK, and then replaced the file in the extracted HK ROM folder with one from somphon, and then flash for second time.
Since I already edited the .ini file when flashing with HK rom, the second time did not complain anything.
Thats it. hope it works for you !

if u have raw file pls use prepare_imgfs & viewimgfs to extract the rom

yup it is possible to create those file in a RUU
I flashed RUU_Cavalier_SoftBank_1.20.761.4_1.46.50.10_182_Test.exe.
But, As for this ROM, "Use Test Only Not for Sale" is displayed by startup.
I want to return my X02HT to the original farm.
Please teach me, the details of the method of creating RUU file from the backed up raw file.

yes that rom is a test rom but it work just fine according to other ppl who is using it.
but then maybe u will loose ur radio since u dont have the ori radio file
to return back to ori u need to cook ur rom,
1. download the kitchen
2. then download the necessary files HERE
3. replace all files OEM, SYS, ROM in the kitchen
4. Click on no 1_makeOSNB.bat
When buildos+package_tools appear,
a. Go to the BuildOS Tab, select ur rom folder (choose OS.nb.dump)
b. Check on Make os-new.nb
c. Click the play (go) button.
d. When done, close buildos+package_tools
5. Click 2_makeRUU.bat

ok the thing is all the folders OEM,SYS & ROM have to be copy to os.nb.dump folder.
os.nb have to be copied into the ROM folder.
u can extract the os.nb from the test softbank rom ... extract the *.exe with winrar etc.
Then use nbhextract.exe to get the os.nb from ruu_signed.nbh
hope this will help

When using XIPPort.exe, it went well.
But, what can be created is only OS file.
Please teach me the creation method of IPL, SPL, ExtROM, GSM, SubSplash, and MainSplash.

I think u dont need ori SPL, IPL ....
to extract radio (GSM) u have to extract ruu_signed.nbh with nbextract.exe
just take the GSM.nb portion & use nbmerge to merge it back to ruu_signed.nbh
splash u can use any nb img tool
can u repost cavalier kitchen please, it's remove from hosting.
but if u let me think... i need 2 files from cavalier rom - peripheral.dll & wavedev.dll

I noticed that a P750 Kitchen was released at asusmobile.ru, problem is that it is Russian base.
Using the following steps I was able to compile a rom that worked, abliet one I could not understand
1) grab your preferred kitchen from http://asusmobile.ru/board/viewtopic.php?t=14829 ( I used Manila Version)
2) extract
3) Copy your OEM files to the OEM folder
4) Run Build_ROM.cmd from root
5) When BuildOS comes up select your packages, press play, close when done
6) When prompted to select "B" or "X" to backup or delete dump folder
7) When NB0 Kitchen starts enter password: mrtoto
8) Load ROM and select PegasusP.nb0
9) Fill in and Select ROM version ,ROM date , CPU speed or pagepool size you want and click [Pack Image].
10) Select [XPR Compression] or [LZX Compression] and click [Build NB0]
11) Wait until you see the words "ROM.NB0 complete" in the message box, Exit the nb0 Kitchen and wait until you see its done
12) Open PegasusP.nb0 in a hex editor and change the bytes at offset 00001c5c from 00 10 85 05 to 20 00 00 0a, save.
13) Extract the attached ASUS_P525_NB0_Kitchen ENG.rar, open ASUS_P525_NB0_Kitchen.exe, load your nb0 and choose fix crc.
Flash by copying to root of SD card, hold power up, voice record in, joystick down while pressing reset and the bootloader will initiate a flash.
Next step is to convert to english, I have seen a tut at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312704 on how to translate, just wondering if there is an easier way that someone here may know of as with my limited knowledge I am likely to have missed something.

My plan is to make a 'clean' rom soon. All the basics should be working. When this works I'll focus on porting some applications. Feedback and ideas of which it should contain besides the Camera, Urtime, Multihome, let me know.

Yes, I will, when I finished translating the OEM files, they are still Russian now. Just to make clear, it's not my kitchen, I'm modifying the work of Barin, Vivi etc etc.

How to upgrade:
- Place the PegasusP.nb0 file on a non-sdhc storage card (128 megs or more)
- Plug in power
- Press and hold the following keys when softresetting:

Known issues:
- When clicking on softkey to open a menu e.g. contactsmenu, the size is bigger than normal.
- Core systems settings as Power, Device info, Brightness still in Russian.
- Some ASUS apps still in Russian like Asus switcher, CPU mode, Asus profiles, Wakeupsource
- Sometimes after first boot "unknown usb driver" message appears. Reflash the rom to resolve.

Anyone else experienced the same? I've flashed mine more than 50 times and never had this kind of error. There is a lang unlock tool available. Perhaps it has got to do with that?
I've upgraded from an Extreme Ultralite Rom VGA WWE 3.1.0.7. Perhaps you can flash this one too and check if the same error occurs?
The bootloader of my device is exactly the same. This is a radio/bootloader/gps/free ROM update, just the OS.
