My O2 XDA Orbit has a habit of slowing down as the day passes (and I open and close various items). I don't know why WM leaves "closed" stuff in memory, but no doubt there's a good reason.
Right now, when it gets too bad, I go to the "Memory" utility and stop stuff from there, but a "stop all" button on the main screen would be useful.
Is there such an app available?
HTC Taskmanager automatically closes apps when you tap the X, either that or SPB Pocket plus gives you a menu if you tap and hold in the top right corner, allowing you to minimize, close, or close all.

HI,
I know there are tons of toolbar close button replacement out there to perform 'Close' action instead of minimize. However, I am wondering whether there is a little program which can assigned to a hardware button to perform the 'Close' action.
...try to use SEARCH in forum... :x
SPB Pocket plus is doing a good job for me!

Hi,
The first time I used my XDA Orbit I found a way of accessing "running programs" by tapping somewhere on the "today" screen..........but I can't remember how!!!
I know you can go settings-systems-memory-running programs however, there must be a short cut (without having to install other software).
Can you help??
Rob.
tap the little O2 icon in the botom RHS of the screen. this will show you the programs running and allow you to close them down
...........some how I have managed to move/delete the icon you are talking about.
Any ideas how to get it back?
Rob.
Well either go to programs and tap the O2 customise icon and see if that launches the app or else download the O2 plus App from the forum which is much better than the one installed in the Orbit.Go to search option and type O2 plus for all devices.
Missing "Running App", "Desktop Shortcuts" and "Profile" on the new WM6?
Missing "Running App", "Desktop Shortcuts" and "Profile" on the new WM6?
Downloaded and flashed the latest WM6 from HTC onto my O2 ORBIT. It works fine.
But I am missing a couple of software that originally come with my phone.
1 is the Running App on the desktop, I found it very useful to keep tracking what software is running on the background, and convenient to switch from one to another.
2: is the "Profile", where I can set the volume.
3: is the Desktop "Shortcuts".
These three software/plugins are more simple to me, I noticed that the HTC Home software can do the same task, but it takes more memory from my phone, and there are some unnecessary functions like "weather" keeps bothering me.
(I don't need it to tell me that it's "raining" outside, I can just look out the window, or just feel the drops on my shoulders. -_-!)
Any advices are very welcome. Thanks.
Hi Guys, I'd like to have the HTC task manager in the top right of every program (except full screen obviously) in place of the "X". If I want to exit a program, I usually press the hardware "ok" button and keep it running in the background for fast loading later and keep an eye on memory usage with the top right menu. Is it possible to have the task manager always on in place of the cross?
Yes, that would be great. I did not find anything to get what we want, so far.
As a workaround, I used WkTask (http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html) which works well, and allows to switch easily from one running program to the other.
Waiting for a better solution, hope that this helps.

Best program iv found by a long way is Showcase. Works like a charm and looks pretty!
SPB Pocket Plus and SBSH both do as you ask... but the come at a premium
pbar works for me. "pBar is able to override the behaviour of the "X" button just like other task managers. In addition, there are a couple of handy shortcuts found on the popup menu. You can even add shortcuts of a couple ..."
Hi perhaps one of your gurus can help me. I recently installed pocket informant on my TP2. To launch it, I need to go start, then select all applications, and scroll to find it. Pocket informant seems to have added close to 20 or more "apps" now. so the "all applications" list just doubled or tripled in length. Is there a way to have that "all applications" list be folder based? its not fun using about 5 or 6 finger scrolls to get to the bottom of the list for the other apps I want to launch.
help..
thanks

Sure. Go to \Windows\Startmenu\Programs\WebIS (may also be called "PocketInformant") and delete the shortcuts you donĀ“t need. The exact path may differ slightly, depending on the language version you are using.
