Three question that i cant seem to find the answer by searching.
Can I use AdvancedConfig on the Excalibur, or is there a program similar to it that is compatible with the Excalibur?
and...
After installing Kavana's ROM, i have red info text on my HTC Boot screen. Is there any way or setting to remove that red text so I have a clean HTC Logo on boot?
and finally...
Is there a way to disable the flashing green "network" light on the ear piece?

1) If AdvancedConfig is anything like CHome Config, then the answer is yes. I don't know exactly what kind of program AdvancedConfig is. CHome Config allows you to edit the sliding panel order and the separate slides in the CWelcome Center panel.
2) I have no clue... If you haven't made too many customizations, you might consider reflashing the ROM. There's a thread around somewhere in which a user had this same problem (it may have been you). I can't remember the name of the thread though...
3) Yes, there is. In fact, there's a hack that'll let you make the service light blink as a result of different actions (i.e. new voicemail message) Just get on Google and type in "T-Mobile Dash+registry hacks" or "T-Mobile Dash+registry tweaks". Something should come up.
Thanks for the help, ill see if i can find some of that stuff.
BTW, AdvancedConfig is a tweaking app for the TyTN II. Kinda like KaiserTweak.

Hi folks,
My device is off being repaired to cure the screen alignment issue but while I am waiting for it to return I was wondering if there was a way to stop the HTC green theme being applied to the device after I do a hard reset?
I would like just the plain WM6 default theme.
I have read about this thing called ExtROM, which is where the operator install files are hidden? So this is where the evil green theme lives until it gets installed?
Can anyone tell me if this is possible?
FYI I have a generic HTC, sim-unlocked TyTN.
Thanks,
gambcl
Um well you can do a search on google and find millions of PPC themes the green theme is just the default one set by the Preconfig.txt WM6 also comes installed with a blue theme and a red theme BTW they are called .tsk files
Umm, yes I know about .tsk files, but they do not get rid of the HTC green skin on the dialer, pin screen, etc. do they?
I was thinking the cleanest solution was to just stop the HTC green from ever being applied in the first place by maybe deleting the relevant install files from the ExtRom and then doing a hard reset.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I've never touched the ExtRom before, I know I have to unlock it and I can read about that, but what exactly would I do after I have unlocked it?
Thanks,
gambcl.

For the screen commmanager try disable this file in extended: Green_Commger.CAB.
For the dialer take a look at ZombieNexus dialpad. I use one 3G dialer to subst the green one in HTC.
For the pin pad, try one of the CABs in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321733 Youll have a black touch pinpad after install one of them, and of course the battery icon with detailed info
Hopes this helps.
This is exactly what I would like to know too. How to disable the green theme to load after hard reset.
I like the base blue theme, but that green theme changes the dialers etc.
Don't want other themes to replace them. Just to disable it not to load after hardreset.
I see that it loads a xml file that was named based on the theme, I just don't remember it atm. maybe I'll just have to fiddle with the extrom.
If anyone already has a working solution, please post it

Sorry, but the gree colors in pinpad is caused by a DLL in the ROM, not by some CAB installed after the HR. So you can only chage this changing this DLL.
About the DialPad, well, seemed as before, but with a lot of graphics files. You need a theme to change the green color and bottons (graphics files). Can't disable after HR. Only you can disable the default skin in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin making Enabled parameter to "0"
but you loos the 3G dial and SmartDialing. If you have 0 by default in this parameter, then you can't do more.
The only one i could disable is Green Commanager in the extended.
The other way to customize all this is, of course, cooking your own ROM
Regards.
I posted this awhile back in the russian rom thread but i didn't get much of a response.
with tmobile wm6 you can type in letters and the dialer will convert it to numbers for you. htc unfortunately did not include this in their version. if anyone still running tmo wm6 can figure out the registry entrys for this and post them here that would be great!
also does anyone know how to change the text in the call screen to black? I want to get rid of that god awful green screen but i need darker text to be able to read it.
Bummer about the alpha-dialing, didn't realize that wasn't there until reading your post. That was a slick feature.
The green screens are awful (what were they thinking?), would be great if someone came up with a cab file that got rid of them all. The call status screen is butt-ugly, but the CommManager screen is worse.
Ideally, HTC should've created an application/configuration program that let the user choose their own color of branding... or... just made it blue.

Hi there
Running Meschles Vanilla 2.0 (EXCELLENT)- just wondering if anyone out there knows of a way to change the colours in the HTC Comm Manager? Not just the black background, but also the blue and the red colours. Would like to change it more to fit into the rest of my theme.
Incidentally- if I LOVE the colours in the original Microsoft Guava theme- how could I fine out the "colour codes" (for want of a better term) to then apply to a re-coloured comm manager.
Would like to make it eg black on (guava) red!
Thanks all......
Any ideas anyone......?
Please!!...

afaik does it only change htc-home-related things...to change comm-manager icons you'll have to edit every single file.
correct me if i'm wrong with that, but i can't imagine another way to do this.
maybe you can download a comm-manager-cab (this one ? - it's the ten-button comm-manager from kaiser), extract all files and then you can try do change the pictures...
btw: there are about 90 pictures included.....happy editing

Yea, I've downloaded a 10 button Comm manager (can't remember which one), but it was screwing up my system. Slowed everything down. It would take almost 20 seconds to open the the Windows folder. The only way I could get rid of it was to hard reset. So please backup your device some kind of way before you download it just incase. Even after uninstalling it, my device was still slow.
The same problem with other app

Seems to be impossible what you would like to do. Since CommManager is 'burnt' onto the ROM, you can
a, overwrite it with your new coloured files - causing slowdown, or
b, leave it as is.
There is no third possibility.
And yes, after uninstalling or manually deleting the files with which you overwrote the original ones, the system still remains slow! (don't know why).
I'm struggling with a similar problem for a while. My ROM doesn't have HTC AudioManager built-in, so I installed it separately into Storage Card, to avoid slowndown. Then I installed Music plug-in for starting AudioManager directly from Today screen. And, althought the plug-in is selectable (WMP/AudioMan.), I can't use it for AudioManager because it can't find the prog.
The only solution would be a new or hacked plug-in version, capable of locating AudioManager, even if it's not in Wondows folder. If anybody knows such a version, please, warn me!
cheers
Never mind...Nice thought.
Thanks anyway guys

The Guava theme is my favorite as well. It looks really good the the grey icons instead of the colored ones. The B&B Comm Mgr would be perfect for this ROM but the only way to get it is to cook your own ROM. I just avoid going to the Comm Manager so I don't have to look at it much. You can change the icons and tabs on the home screen with the HTC Home Customizer software.
Hey everyone,
I hope I have posted this thread in the correct part of the forum, if not, don't be shy to tell me! ;-)
Here is my problem:
I have an HTC P3300, running under the official Windows Mobile 6 upgrade from HTC, and I installed the "Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2". But I have noticed something:
The "call status"-display has some buttons at the bottom like Speakerphone, mute, hold, etc.
Those buttons have a black background (like it should be) and the letters are dark green. The problem is, the dark green is impossible to see on the black background.
I always need the speakerphone button while driving, but I have to guess where the button is approximatly.
Is here somewhere a possibility to change the colour of the letter? Because when the call ends, there are three buttons where the letters change to clear green, while the others are staying dark green (I have no idea why this change happens, and I don't mind, it just proves me that it is possible to have a better coulour). It would be easier to use if they were all clear green.
Thanks a lot in adance for your help.
Nobody has any idea?
no but i have the same problem! i re-installed so many tims, no jou ;( i just settled with another phone pad in the end
So I am not alone having problem with this "design"! So there is still hope that someone outthere has a solutio,...
Solution
1. Just install the attached 'HTC_Dialer.cab'.
2. With a registry editor which capable of importing '.reg' files, import the content of the attached 'dialer-reg.zip'.
3. (optional) If you want to search within names with accented letters (non-english names) install the attached 'Smartdialing_2_5_27526_CZ-SLO-HU.CAB'.
4. soft reset.
Enjoy!
where do you import the contents of reg to?
Thanks for the help, but when I am trying to import the file, my RegEditor (= CeRegistryEditor) is telling me that some of the places where the file has to be imported, the access is not granted...
Forget what I have just written! ;-)
For those who have trouble with the 2. part of ctibors solution:
In the RegEditor "unlock the registry" the go to "import", select the file "DialerSkin_White_Text" and just click "ok". The rest will work without you. ;-)
Thanks again ctibor
Hey guys,
I'm trying to make my home screen as "clean" as possible, and I'm wondering if there is a way to remove Call history and/or Calender beneath the clock?
Cheers
I'm searching for this for a while too. I still didn't find anything yet. Hope someone can help us
This could be handy

@Chef Ben
Ok, at the weekend I made a cab for me so I can install the "clean hometab" at my german diamond in one step, it also ereases the dotted line and the arrwos. So before you install my custom cab, you have to uninstall the single cab first.
(Note: with this cab you will also get a transparent clock background)

In the file '7e640092_manila' (xml language file) you can edit/delete the text for the different entries on the hometab. Just open this file with a normal editor and edit/delete the entries (for example Date, text for "blank" callhistory- or calendar-row, not active alarm, ...).
Only the next entry in the calendar-row and the display of an active alarm cannot be changed with this methode.
You also have to know, that this mod only changes the visual appearance and not the "function" of the row, for example if you tab on the now blanked callhistory-row you will still get to the callhistory.

However, I don't know if it's compatible with Blackstone.
ok i've tried it,
all that happens is it removes the dotted lines....
if i get time i'll look at the 7e640092_manila
