I have some quetion to ask.. since i'm going to purhcase this phone very soon.
1. How is the sound quality.. Ring volume.. good?, Loud?
2. Is their any lack or slow or bug errors ... in opening standard programs..
3. How is the GPS works? is this work well and fast?
4. Any other problems for this Artemis lately??
Thank you very much for your answer..
The reason is PPC, when is first launch always has some problem.. with normally can be fix by the next firmward, so i just want to make sure that this work well... (Not like ATOM when is first launched)

1. Sound quality: I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. Reception is very good. Ring volume: excellent! Too loud for my taste in fact. I NEVER use the maximum setting because it is, well, too loud!!
2. Nothing significant regarding bugs. Speed is more than acceptable. I still cannot believe that it's using "only" a 200MHz CPU. It simply doesn't show. I guess this is due to excellent implementation on their part (AKU and all). Also it is VERY easy to overclock and get significant improvement (if you so desire...) but I haven't found this to be necessary.
3. The best GPS implementation I have ever seen. State of the art in my book.
4. I was looking to get Nokia N95 but I'm glad I didn't. HTC has hit the jackpot with this one I think.
I agree I hardly notice the difference between my shiny new XDA Orbit and my 2 yo XDA IIs, apart from not having to carry around a brick!
This was my biggest concern, top marks to HTC!
I have to say this thing blows the Exec out of the water. I got crashes when messaging, freezes while looking at pics, and a whole host of other little niggles with my Exec. The O2 XDA Orbit which I picked up yesterday has been an absolute beauty. It's a lovely size, really light, and the controls are very easy to use. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is my battery has gone from 56% down to 6% in about 10min, which is a little bad but aparently is just my battery so changing that tonight.

Excellent
I have had the MDA compact III for a week now and I think its great, if you want a brick then its not for you... ok it could have done with 3g and wifi (I have had it confirmed through a friend who works for HTC that the wifi Chip (hardware) was removed on the MDA) but at the end of the day who turns on there wifi? I havent on any other device...
All in all you choose the device for your needs, I had a M3100 and got rid of that for this... my main needs are tomtom, e-mail and phone in the smallest form factor I can get.... this device does it!....I have two and my partner has one also ... got them from the t-mobile shop £20 for each phone then £15 a month and 6.99 for the Web and Walk .... Bargain!.
Mouse - I prefer the roller on the M3100 but I do like the inovation and have played a bit with it but I do like it.
It's awesome. I have the the HTC with Wifi, but also without Wifi it's an excellent device
All the points that you ask have a 5 stars for me, compared with my old HTC Himalaya
Nothing is perfect anyway, a cradle available is my desire
I am also seriously considering getting this phone. My only concern is reception and voice quality. Anyone who has used HTC Magician please compare phone function of these two phones?
Also, does this have a2dp?

Reception is good gps faar out and voice quality better than the magician (s100)
Good Device (still trying to get rid of the t-mobile ****) using mda compact III with wifi. by the way the device supports RDS (many people where asking this on the forum so here's your anwser
When is the free unlock available and htc roms (tmobile roms are fully branded and hardreset softreset doesn't affect this much....
Just about perfect...
This phone is the best I have owned. I upgraded from a PDA2k and see no appreciable lag between that device's 400mhz and the 200 in this little beauty - other than Voice Command taking just a little longer to beep after button press. It plays video like a champ (although converted to divx) - but who uses non-converted video anyway? Too much space on the mem card!
My only desire is that the memory card would be easier to get to. Sending large files to the card via Usb or Bluetooth takes forever. I hate the fact that I have a card reader built right into my laptop and I can't make use of this functionality with my PDA without taking out the battery and lifting the sim card holder. I guess since it uses MicroSD and those cards are easily damaged, HTC figured that hiding it away would protect us from ourselves!!! Hey, deeper in the device means less dust, right!? Just get a 2 gig and forget about it.
I have noticed that the battery is a little weak; I had an extended battery on my 2k and it lasted forever - but talk about bricks!!! I see that they are making an extended for the Artemis too, but I am hesitant to bulk up such a remarkably perfect form factor.
By the way - I concur that the wifi is solid and the GPS is fantastic (and well managed by the OS). I can walk around INSIDE my house and not loose my fix!! As far as Rollr is concerned, it takes some getting used to, but after a while I now don't think I could live without it! Read on:
If anyone wants to try a great configuration, try this: Use Double Launcher 2.11 and you go from having 6 hardware buttons and 2 softkeys to having 16 functions available via button! DL doesn't see the start menu button or the OK button on the Artemis, but it will give you 4 options on each of the other four keys. I had Vito Buttonmapper on my 2k, but it didn't seem to function well on the Artemis. DL is much nicer on this device. Then I used the registry hack by travegliaesogno posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281487&page=2&highlight=mousemode to get the mouse mode to turn on using a button rather than the HTC icon on the Today screen. I used 40c2 (as this is the startmenu key which I never use for that function). The best thing is that the hack survives soft reset! Now I can get the mouse to appear within applications when I need it and make it disappear when I don't without having to minimize and go to the Today screen to activate/deactivate it!!! The mouse takes a little practice, and I wouldn't be surprised if the ROM updates for this device will make it run even more smoothly as time goes on.
I was really considering the Trinity when it became more and more likely that it would eventually have GPS, but now that I know the Artemis is as zippy as it is and my new love affair with Rollr, I'm glad I took the plunge with this lovely gadget! High marks, HTC!!!
Oh yeah,

Voice quality is excellent - no "sweet spot". Sounds good everywhere on your ear. Reception has been fantastic on Cingular in Virginia, USA. Sorry, can't comment on A2DP since I don't have bluetooth earphones yet. Okay, I'm done.
psargent, thanks for your mini-review, it was very helpful and removed my doubts about the device.
Thank you very much
Thank you very much for your coment on this Artemis..
So.. should say that this is the most perfect phone HTC ever build..
one more question, is this phone capable of 2g microsd?
Anyway i'll buy it.. wait until it release in THailand...
Yep, its a fine phone/pda. Ringer is loud, im glad to say, nice ringtones too, none of the normal crap tunes they put on all the phones these days. Tomtom seems slow to get the sats up but once it gets going its great. Its amazing what you can get on a 1gb card. I have 2 full length films and tomtom with space to spare. Unreal picture quality too. Well happy
I have the 2gig sandisk card from www.mobymemory.com and it works fine.
2 Gig Sandisk ULTRA also works well

I havn't looked at this in detail but dont forget you can only compare the clock speeds of CPU's with similar architecture. Intel XScale chips usually have sky high CPU clocks (500MHz) but their architecture means a different CPU at 200MHz could potentially have more number crunching ability. One thing is for sure though more MHz = more battery juice.
Checkout the current crop of PC CPU's, Pentium 4's have clocked upto 3.8GHz but the new Core 2 Duo's running at 2.6GHz are way more powerful because of their architecture.
Its good to know that HTC's 3300 at 200MHz matches older 400MHz designs though so thanks for your input, I had been reading lots of posts about "BUT ONLY 200MHz - WHY!!?" etc etc I thought they were talking boll**ks now I know they were.
Network lock
Does anybody know if the O2 Orbit is actually locked to O2. I'm so tempted to go and get one right now, phone shop is only 10 minutes away, but i need to put a Vodafone sim in it.
Thanks for your help.
Paul
mine wasn't locked at all. orange sim worked with no probs...
FANTASTIC!!!!!! I'm off to get one right now ;-)
Got one tues without copilot but can't get gps to work, if you get one can you let me now if yours works vlad69uk? 02 say it only works with copilot!
Let's face it people. When the TP2 was announced it was looking like a great device and a possible Xperia replacement. Now, after it is out, I can safely say that it has both bad hardware and software. I will hang tight to my Xperia for the time being.
Here is why I do not like the TP2:
No 3.5 m headphone jack - LOL. In 2009...............
No flash/LED on the camera - Again, it is 2009 and this is a high end device.....
No D-pad or other directional buttons on the front - They say the software is optimized for that kind of use. Well, what about the 10k apps I want to install, that require a d-pad?
No FM radio/disabled by firmware - Why??? That is the stupidest decision by a phone manufactirer ever.
Same processor as the TP. 520mhz qualcom, although the TP2 has an older version !!!!!!!!! - Older version on a model that is supposed to be a successor???
TP - MSM 7201 A
TP2 - MSM 7200 A
Same storage space as the TP.
Same ammount of RAM, although the TP2 has 20mb LESS RAM available to it. I repeat, the newer version has less RAM available!!!
TP2 has a better battery than the TP, BUT worse battery life! How about that huh???
Good things:
Nice screen. (tilting)
5 row keyboard. (awesome)
Noise cancelation.
How is the Touch Pro 2 an upgrade?? It has ther same or LOWER specs than the Touch Pro. I feel cheated by HTC . My advice is - Keep your Touch Pro or Xperia and wait for the TP3 or X2.......
I haven´t tested myself
But I must agree with you!
How possible is no 3.5mm jack??
My Universal from 2005 has it and is extremelñy usefull!, of course an adapter can be found but....
Don´t want to repat all your points but thank you very much for pointing it here
Not a real replacemet for my beloved Universal not even for Xperia
Let´s hear what users have to say about this
Some good points but I disagree with:
1. No 3.5 m headphone jack - LOL. In 2009 - I never understood why anyone would want an extra hole in their device. the adapter works perfect for me and yes, its 2009, i have wireless headphones lol.
2. No FM radio/disabled by firmware - Why??? That is the stupidest decision by a phone manufactirer ever - i installed the cab and it works perfect. who cares how it comes if you can simply install a cab file to change it. All part of customizing your device IMHO
3. Same processor as the TP. 520mhz qualcom, although the TP2 has an older version !!!!!!!!! - Older version on a model that is supposed to be a successor??? - do you actually know this proc is worse or are you just saying this due to the model #?
4. Same storage space as the TP. - who cares about internal storage when you have an expansion card?
5. TP2 has a better battery than the TP, BUT worse battery life! How about that huh??? - not sure where you got that lol. my tp2 has much better battery life then the tp1
not really feeling you advice not to buy it. I had an HD and this phone blows it away in every way. just my 2 cents

1 - Yes, having an adapter is so cool......... I want to plug my headphones not look for the stupid adapter EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
Wireless headphones are used by a very small percent of people. Most people (like me) prefer NOT to have two devices to charge when you want to take your music with you.
2 - That is not customizing. Installing programs and tweaking is customizing. This is poor care for the customer on HTC's part and smells of an unfinished device. How would you feel if they had left out TouchFlo 3D? Or part of it?
3 - That is what I know from doing my research. If my info is correct.
4 - I do. Many apps don't work if you install them on the SD card. They auto install in the main storage.
5 - All the reviews I have seen mention it, plus a friend of mine has both phones and has confirmed that for me.
Agreed on the part that TP2 is better than the HD. HD sucks even more. You should definitely make the upgrade to TP2.
I have the following phones:
Kaiser
Diamond
Touch HD
Xperia
Touch Pro 2
and have bought them in that order - never sold any of these
I agree with Mallman: can't see the point in saying that it sucks.
I have been using my TP2 today with the following usage:
140' phone calls (onehundred forty)
20' Opera browsing
Exchange mail push always on
2 POP3 mail account syncing with 10' time frame.
Received and read over 50 mails.
Still have 10% battery left after 14 hours of THAT kind of use - just out of the box, haven't had the time to work on energy consumption parameters under Advanced Config.
Can't really see any difference with my Xperia. Touch HD has performed less.
Radio is ok.
Have a 8 GB SDHC card, with extreme satisfaction.
And believe me, I have tried all the keyboards of these phones, nothing compares to this one. Screen is superb, speed also.
IT has BETTER battery life (don't listen to pocketnow.com, they are the onlyones who are saying that. FM radio has been left out. Reason unknown, so hard to say if it is a bad decision. Does the processor id number mean it's older? Has it been released before? It's not always so that a higher number means newer.
The TP2 is actually faster (not only touch flo 3D) then the touch pro.
Maybe they should make also a HDMI and firewire connection...... That would make sense. There are really small usb mini to 3,5 minijack converters. ANd the mini usb is multi functional.
Please stop talking about the flash, there have been real flash phones, but only very little. This is because after 3 flashes, the battery is empty. That LED light, was fun, but never really used it. keyboard has been improved. Original wm 6.5 upgrade.
Looks are much better. I almost never used my dpad, only when something was to small to select. But the bigger screen and better resolution solves that. I have to admit that a jogdial (like on the hermes) would be a good thing.
So in your oppinion every device has to have a mini jack? So I think you get that I don't agree with you

I was at a club last night with some friends and it was kinda dim. My Xperia was the only phone with any kind of flash and I was the only one that could take pics. I really can't imagine anyone arguing in favour of not having a flash. That is hilarious. Same goes for 3.5mm jacks.
I had a couple of devices without D-pads (including HD for a while). I have to say that many of the apps require a D-pad or are easier to work with, if you have one.
Agreed on the screen, keyboard and looks (as mentioned in the OP).
For the lack of flash, you are completely right.
I see no point in selling phones without a flash - even a sucking one would be better than nothing.
As for me, I use these phones for my job, so usually in daylight.
Wish I had more spare time to spend in clubs during the night: would have certainly a different phone

Don't think I'd be laughing out TOO loudly at the lack of a 3.5 jack. In 2009 people are still using the things? Good heavens, get up to date!
No camera flash? Yeah it would be nice, but hardly a show stopper not having one.
No D-PAD? Erm...that's kinda the point, isn't it? If you want a D-PAD that badly, then of course you don't want this phone. I have over 40 application on my Vogue and I almost never use the D-PAD. I can't wait to get a phone that gets rid of the space-waster.
FM Radio disabled? There may be a good reason - too early to tell. Same was true of my Vogue's GPS chip. Took awhile to get a firmware update, but disabling it by default was the best option they had at the time.
Old Qualcomm Chip - Well, they didn't need to update the chip, did they? They saved a boatload of money by not manufacturing it with a new chip, and spent far less money instead optimizing the speed of the firmware. Pretty good deal, I'd say.
Same storage space - There's a handful of apps that require storage on board, but it's not likely you're going to run into so many of those that you run out of space when you have even a modest sized storage card.
20 MB less RAM - ok, so you have less excess than before. It's still excess.
Worse battery - Umm...no, I don't think so. You're not gonna get that one to fly. Everyone who has the device knows better.

Yes most of the people still use them..... You better read my previous posts about the wireless headphones.
I have 300+ apps on my X1 and many of them require a D-pad.
I am curious about the Vogue's GPS chip. Why was it necessary to be disabled?
The part about using saved money from the processor to update the interface is pure conjecture on your part .
Again, the size of the SD doesn't matter if you have many apps that by DEFAULT install on the main memory.
Excess??? Excsue me, but less RAM means less multitasking and although the TP was good at this, it wasn't VERY good. The TP2 is worse and it is supposed to be an upgrade....
I can't argue about the battery, because I don't have that much hands on time with the device. I trust my friend and the online reviews though. Unless both my friend's battery and the ones of the reviewers were faulty in the first palce

Do you (current owners of desire) recommend us (potential owners) to buy HTC Desire?

Find me the phone with no problems and I'll buy 10.
Best phone I have ever had. I tried out Iphone 3gs and HD2 ON o2 for two weeks on both sets under their returns policy, sent them back. Got the Desire with T Mobile, brilliant, great phone, great price plan. Have had no issues with it. Some issues on this forum have been sparodic and not the norm, most have been dealt with. Compare the issues with other handsets on other forums including Iphone there are shed loads of issues out there.

1) If you are going to switch from iphone to Andorid...then initially you may feel that you have missed lots of apps that iPhone has... yes, thatz true.. you cannot not compare the iphone apps with android apps...
2) with respect to the phone.. i would say its a 100% buy... screen is excellent 100times better than iphone.. The touch screen is brilliantly done…no issues till now I am using it for past 27days... below are the few things I found it difficult...
a) I could not setup my office exchange server email on HTC desire.. but, it used to work fine on the my iphone.
b) i got the phone thru T-mobile UK.. The problem is when I browse the internet I cannot receive incoming calls.. (This problem is only when your are browsing the internet in 'G'.. no problem when browsing in 'H'). Not sure if the same problem exists with other networks.
c) Battery life is not good.. i have to carry the usb cable all the time with me (just in case..)
3) I tried to play few .mp4 files that i downloaded from youtube.. image quality is excellent but the sound output was not good (i am using the inbuilt video player).
4) Music player is not as good as iPhone... very low volume compared to iphone... supplied ear phones are very big in size for my ears..
thanks!! am planning to change sometime in a weeks time,
with so many threads on problem with HTC desire, that was making me doubt my decision!!
please also tell any one feature u like most about it
I've been wondering the same thing. Lots of posts about issues etc.
Can anyone advise on these:
1. Low speaker / ringer volume
2. Poor Image quality on browser
(I download and view images in my job so high quality is vital)
3. Screen colour issues - pink hue
4. Battery Life !
I'm sure I'll think of some more..
Thanks
1. Never had that issue, but I don't use the loudspeaker
2. You'll get this as it's a mobile browser - stick to a PC/Mac for big images
3. Only the HTC website is noticeable IMO
4. nearly 48hrs without a charge at the mo

I would recommend it if you don't mind carrying a spare battery or buying an external one if you're going to use it heavily day to day. (assuming you don't have access to somewhere to charge it) As the battery life can be very temperamental although it will last at least 8 to 10 hours of light use. This may be fixed in the future to give longer battery life but you're not going to get more than a day out of this phone if you are using it for more than a few hours a day.
Other than that it's generally a very good, powerful phone. There are the odd complaints here and there but most of them should get solved eventually or can be worked around or are minor things you don't really think about / notice from day to day. Things that need to be sorted out or improved can be found in one of the threads but I've had no major problems.
The only thing I would say is as I like to have a huge amount of apps on my device so more program memory would have helped. I get around this by storing the apps I don't regularly use on my sd card using app monster I think and then reinstalling them and installing something else. It doesn't take long to do and I haven't needed to do it yet in the month I've had it so it's a minor problem for me.
So to sum up even though what I've said about the phone above doesn't seem to positive I really love this phone. The phone is good enough to do nearly anything the other smart phones specialize in and do it well. I've used it to briefly edit and access large office documents, browse the internet (including most flash sites I use even worked with a few audio streaming sites and even quite a few videos, for ones that didnt work I found apps like engadget and bbc iplayer beebplayer.), listen to last fm, record as well as download videos and upload straight from the phone, get the tube status, next train times, search, stocks, my notes, use for car navigation, listen to music, IM and play games (3d applications and games are improving and look good). All these feature I've used so far have worked perfectly for me. This is only the tip of the iceberg for me and I'll use more features as I need them. The android app market is great and still growing at a fast rate, Google apps can be very useful and are free too.
SorryI couldn't just mention one feature I use when I use so many!!!
i would be fair with you. The phone has issues like any other phones. none is perfect. HTC sucks big time in their updates ..... everybody knows it but what makes ppl still buy htc is the xda forum and the ability to install custom roms.
i am 100% sure all the minor issues you have read about till now will be solved with custom roms. but until then, we should be able to get root.
so my advice, wait and see if the htc desire gets rooted properly with new recovery image . once this is achieved, just go and grab yourself a desire as it is one of the best out there.
if not , then consider your other options. the samsung galaxy s will be out soon

8-10 hours on light use? Seriously?
I'm about to plug it in after 17 hours of what I'd consider medium to heavy use. Wi-fi on constantly, push email, replied to and sent 20-30 mails, FriendStream and weather set to sync every hour, couple of phonecalls, hour or two of browsing, some messing with Google Sky and a live wallpaper running!
I come from wimo. Traditionally feature rich but sluggish and unstable at times. Desire is my first Android. Not as feature rich as wimo, but lightning fast with the Snapdragon. When travelling home this evening, was watching a movie on the nicely colored screen (800x480), got a call, answered it with sound on the headphone and talk handsfree via the mic, and resumed watching video again, all without any hickup or problem. That's impressive. Of course, this is only a very small aspect of a phone, but it still impresses me after 2 weeks of ownership. Can't wait until arrival of 720p recording, divx support and some work on the Bluetooth stack.

Has it been confirmed by HTC??
I'm curious about that too. I don't think I've heard any direct confirmation that it will actually record in 720p, but I've seen a few places say 720p playback.
The Snapdragon is supposedly capable of both, though.

1. Very loud - maybe a bit tinny, but like every other smartphone I've heard, the speaker must be tiny. Anyway after hearing the startup jingle, almost fainting, and then reading 'quietly brilliant' I reconsidered HTC sense of humor
2. Excellent quality, images are compressed only in 3G and I'm not sure if this happens regardless of the handset or the browser
3. This is very personal and varies between handsets-you can always have it replaced if its really bad. Personally I notice it only under 40% brightness
4. Like every other smartphone it depends on your usage. I can go very well through a day/day and half of light-medium use, but you surely can waste the battery in 6 hours of continuous heavy usage. Spare batteries are always a good idea and cheap nowadays. After a week of usage:
- very light usage: 2+ days
- normal usage: 1.5 days
- heavy usage: 1 day, barely
- worst I've done: 5 hours (heavy GPS and 3G, high brightness, installing lots of stuff)
Like in every other handset I had, I think what kills the battery is (in order): GPS - 3G - High Brightness - Calls - Sensors - File Access - etc
With regards the pink hue, I notice in the big sticky that HTC have replied to one of the posters and said they're working on it.
Personally, I didn't even notice it until I read about it here
Well i have had my desire for a week now, and i'm very satisfied with it. the pinkish tint don't annoy me, and i actually never noticed until i read it here. Other than that i don't understand people complaining about poor batterylife, as my phone is still at 20% after 12 hours of heavy use the first days, and that is with around 5-6 hours of awake time. With normal use it last at least 2 days.
720p recording has been mentioned by some HTC official back in February/March but I would not consider that a hard promise. You will find it right away with Google.
heavy use which includes: WiFi/ friendstreem /emails/ weather/ game/ download /installing and more
battery life is about 12 hours
+ display is fantastic
+ performance is great with pictures and videos (watching)
+ screen size generously big
+no problem with WiFi and networking up to now
+ you enjoy Eclaire on this hardware
+good on-screen keyboard
-still no root access so no other fonts languages yet
- HTC sense is not really that hot as it seems to
-I can can not find a grip for wrist band on the phone
- camera focus really dodgy and almost slow shooting
o. optical is not bad I don't really use t
hat much
at the end nothing is perfect
and yet I am really happy with this phone

Hey folks,
Recently I purchased a LG G3 on contract from Vodafone Australia (I got the G Watch free so it was a sweet deal). Although I had been using an iPhone prior to this, I'm in fact an Android lover and fan. I was using the iPhone due to unavoidable circumstances (no cash for a new one and this one was lying around at home). I did a lot of research and reading up before going for a new phone and decided on the G3, given its killer specs and impressive reviews.
But it's been two weeks now and its just problems after problems. I've not even rooted or installed any mods or such.
Audio issues - Inability to connect to external device via AUX cable. Like there's a lot of hissing and static but no audio output.
Until recently, my Audio Technica ATH M50's were working fine but today I discovered sound is playing only from the left speaker and the right one just hisses and crackles. Like when i navigate menu's and make selections, the hissing fluctuates.
Also, when I put a call on speaker phone, the mic does not work.
Yet again, when I use the handset speaker for a normal call, it hisses and crackles.
Overall I'm really disappointed with the audio performance. Everything else is alright considering the device is running an OEM skin along with factory settings.
My question is, are there any fixes for the above issues I have listed? Are they hardware based (not fixable) or software based (potentially fixable via a firmware update or mod, if and such when one becomes available) Does anyone else in Australia on Vodafone have the same issues? If so are you considering trading back on warranty for a new one. And yet again, what is the guarantee that the new device will be rid of all these issues?
Thanks,
Sezy.

Use the warranty
I doubt it's Vodafone's fault, most probably lg's
The real problem with Vodafone is the coverage. It's only good for cities. I used to use Vodafone, now I'm on optus.
Exactly the same as I said here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57161767&postcount=8
I think a headphone amplifier would perhaps solve the 'issue'
Sounds like an LG issue. I'll also add that my included LG headphones are a lit quieter than any other pair i use
Hello guys im creating this topic in order to find out more about this particular unit, ive already been searching the forum but i cant seem to find opinions on this unit.
Im thinking in buying this one instead of rns-e (original audi) because not only it is cheaper, but it also offers a lot more options since its an android unit. altough its a chinese unit and thats kinda what makes me get one foot behind this buy.. Is there anyone that has the same unit? or same hardware/software that could give me some positive/negative feedbacks?
The unit its this one.

Can you tell me if the screen is good against the sun light, even on full brightness? Can you actually read things there while theres light in it?
How about the sound quality? Bass?

Hi @Ezreal,
I have that one (manufacturer KGL) installed in my Exeo and it works pretty well, only thing I am missing is the radio station/song names and well, of course the navigation instructions in the FIS/DIS screen that you can get only with the RNS-E...
Everything is working fine and would recommend that 100%, although I think I remember the original radio sound better. But that was over 1 year ago when I had that.

Well thats my fear too, i know that the rns would sound a lot better than this one, but well its expensive, and old, its not even touchscreen, although its OEM and wont have problems with GPS/Sound quality..
Do you recomend giving like 360€ for a chinese radio?
RNS its like 550€ +.......
Depends on your needs... If you want to have your car full OEM, then for such a difference go for a RNS-E, but if you want to have all the possibilities that give you android, then China radio... You can install tomtom + all the apps from android for instance and is more customizable...
If you use the gps a lot, I would decide the China radio, if it is only to have MP3 + basic gps functionality + full integration then go for the original one. Your decision

The thing is. I would like to have a radio that could reproduce videos like concerts and stuff, and many more stuff.
The RNS wont read video files.. but has a really nice sound quality, which i dont know if the chinese radio has since its not OEM.
I have a radio 1 din on my A4 and has a really nice sound quality, and bass etc. Im afraid i will lose that quality if i go chinese radio and not OEM.. What do you think?

Then go for the Chinese one. RNS-E will not give you out of the box what you are willing to play.
Sound quality in the Chinese one I think can be improved via de equalizer just adjusting manually the values, but didn't tried yet several combinations. Anyway it is not bad quality sound not to choose that one because one because of that, but I think it is little bit below the standard radio. I may be wrong as it is just my point of view.

Ok i see, i never heard a chinese one playing thats why im questioning..
But how about gps for instance? Does it work well? Crashes? Bugs?
Video must be awesome to play it at night for the passengers and stuff...
Everything is working flawlessly, I am pretty happy with it, I have Malaysk rom and improves the device a lot.
Regarding music sound, I use the app "bass eq" and really notice the difference for better
Try Viper4Android!
Hi, I'm looking at getting one of these for my Audi A2. Currently the only option for the A2 is to purchase A4 RNS-E and modify it to fit the dash of the A2.
The question I have, which relates to your units, is that the Eirisn ES2028A states a resolution of 1024x600, and the pumpkin 11-C1220-UK-A states a resolution of 800x480.
Can anyone confirm if the Erisin does actually have a higher resolution screen, as I was on the understanding that they are all made by the same company (HuiFei), then distributed by different resellers (Pumpkin, Erisin, Eonon, Joying, etc).
Any help would be appreciated.

Well according to ebay, pumpkin is 800x, I think the others are all 1024x, but cant confirm 100%
Thank you for the quick reply.
Is it worth going for the higher resolution screen?
I've seen more info about Pumpkin versions than Erisin, so wasn't sure if it was worth going for the lower resolution screen and getting a possibly more robust headunit.
I'll keep an eye on the Erisin units then, unless the others update their screens.

Well i dont think its a huge diference between resolutions since the screen is only 7"..
If it was a TV i would go for higher resolution, but again, i can be wrong because i never saw both standing near me so i could test it.. I would wait for experts to come and take our doubts out..
But the price its kinda the same.. the 800 one its the same (sometimes bigger) than the 1024.. according to ebay..

In my A3, I have had to fade the sound mostly to the back and then crank up the volume a bit. With the addition of Viper4Android app, I have been able to make a pretty good sound stage... but the original Audi Concert audio system still sounded better IMO.

Yeah that's what I've done up to now, but the volume is turned up to 3/4 or higher now.. May just run new wires to the front door speakers and rear speakers, and do away with the factory amp.

For sure, it's nice to have another Audi on here with the same issues... my volume level is constantly up to about half (15) just to hear anything, then up to like 25 with the windows down and rolling.
Viper4Android installed, with the stock firmware EQ's basically all the way up and the "loud" setting on, has made a significant difference. I'm not sure why V4A says you don't have root... but I would reinstall it right after doing the root password and adb password in the system settings. I have constant root on the Malaysk ROM, so I am not sure.
I am also thinking about hitting up the guys on this website... http://enfigcarstereo.com/audi_radio_installation.html . They have all sorts of aftermarket gadgets for our Audi's that help overcome aftermarket stereo issues. I am looking at the "Enfig RWH-AUD2-HILO" as a possible solution for the low audio/factory amp problem.

Thanks again !!
