im just wondering if anyone actually had dis phone for a year. If you had multiple dashes, count the most recent one you had or currently have. So, how long have you had your dash?
Had one since last May
I've had mine for a year and half, I think. All I know for sure is that this is the phone I have had the longest out of all the phones I have had before. Best phone I have ever had.
I bought my Excalibur about a month and a half ago. Love it.
About a month ago too.
It came available in october 2006 in The Netherlands. I switched from a clunky Treo 650 right away. Loved it every day. Will soon switch to iPhone though as soon as it is available here.
Ordered mine at 3am the day t-mobile released it. Lucky I was working nights at the time! hah! Think its been about a year and half. Longest i've ever kept the same phone..

I bought one about a month ago and had to send it back after two days. It would not turn on. Got another new phone and all is well. Amazing product for the bucks.

Got mine when it first came out, and this is the longest i've kept a phone aswell.
Since March 2007
I have owned mine since 12/22/06 and have loved every moment. This is the best phone I have owned and has certainly taken more use and abuse than most phones I have owned. I have worn most of the chrome off the edges and the keyboard feels really broken in compared to newer ones I have flashed for friends, but I wouldn't trade this phone for any other right now. All I have replaced since the original purchase was the battery.
A year and a half

I bought mine from my nephew at Christmas and he had had it for a year. (he didnt like it) I have reflashed it about 5-7 times and presently have Rickys v22 (gonna make any new ones Ricky) I love it. My operator TIM Brazil gave me a Nokia N73 and a E62 which I could not learn to love after the dash and I sold them cheap. LONG LIVE THE S620/621
ill be making a new rom v24 as soon as OrganicM has finished his weather panal and tlogix has finished his Chrome Configurator but only if thay say its ok

Hey with all those phones to develope for, how do you manage to work and have a family lol
around seven months...maybe more. which is a good amount of time on one phone for me. i just cant imagine getting board of it with this nice forum right
Since November 07 and I just am amazed on how much modding one can do with this phone. I am pleased. I just wish Tmobile had more towers in Northern rural WI.
I've had mine for about 4 months now.
got my first dash when it first came out in october 06. used it for a year when i got the shadow. Used that POS for about 4 months then I got another dash and I will use it until Tmob releases a 3G 6.1 Professional phone.
My at the time girl friend found it at a bus station around christmas and gave it to me. Hard reset and i had a new phone. so about 5 or 6 months

i know it sounds crazy but im thinking of selling my dash
i figured id post on here to see if anyone was interested.
body is in good shape, might have a minor ding somewhere. screen has a protector on it, one of the static ones. screen protector has a few minor scratches on it, but that can be removed lol. has rickys wm 6.1 rom on it, i think my sig has the version of the rom i got on there.
if your interested send me a pm. i can post pictures sometime if needed.
it is branded t mobile. i can have it unlocked if requested.
also i can put it on e bay if one of you guys really want it.
I'm actually looking forward to an upgrade as well...
Why? To get a better processor, more memory, built in GPS, touchscreen and WM6.1 Pro. See Samsung i780.
Sorry, don't mean to threadjack...

honestly i just started a new job and i have been working a lot. so far this month two out of four weeks have been 40+ hours. i havent had a lot of time to text a lot or to surf the web a lot, especially at work, they dont like for us to even have our cell phones. so i want something a little more basic, and itll cut a few dollars off my bill.
My HTC S620 will be replaced next week as the iPhone has officially arrived in The Netherlands. I loved my S620 but it's time to move on.

here are some pics. the two of the bottom of the phone shows the dings the phone has, not very noticable from normal distance. then one of the keypad, cause its so nice lol. and one of the screen protector, its earned the money i paid for it.
Yep same with me. I need an upgrade but the Dash is one of the better phone in my opinion that are out there but I guess ill be leaving this forum because I have put my Dash on Ebay and have got bids so farewell!

Totally agree and it's not got alot of software available, no where near as tweaky, yes it has a touch screen but so does the Kaiser, that would be my choice if i had a chance of an upgrade and as NRG states it's a bit bah.
Second THAT
"F" the iphone. It is already out of date. Our Excaliburs whoop its ass. I like the idea of the Kaiser, if you just gotta have a touch, but the touch seems like a big waste, when you already have a superior phone NOW.

if you want a wing then go for it, good trade. but a wing is more bulky than the dash, and harder to access the keypad cause it is hidden.
i thought about getting a wing, had a mda abd it got too bulky for me, so i got the dash and i have loved it since. now im gonna sell it and try to cut back on my bill
I still don't know how you are gonna cut $$$$ off your bill since your dash still can do everything any other cell can.
Saving $$$$ can be done through your plan and whatever extras you have through your provider.

I loved my Dash. I loved my Treo 650. Both are history know. No hard feelings. I saw the sinking ship named Palm and I see one sinking again. It's too little, too late. Microsoft arrogance or incompetence I don't know, maybe both.
I like this forum a lot. Thanks Kavana again for the great superior ROM.

I will ship it anywhere for $150. It's a Taiwan build HTC S620 + 2GB card. Screenprotector from day 1 but the 'silver' striping around the case is now black on several places. Plastic USB cover is missing since last month (perfect!). It will be off duty as soon as I can obtain the iPhone 3G. hope I can get one on Friday. The Netherlands has a 100% full speed 3G coverage .

Hey, I was just wondering where to buy this phone on contract.
I see many people have it and I really want it on contract.
Its on www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk but is that website trusted?
Thanks, Chris
As far as I'm aware, they've been around for quite some time, so I certainly don't think there's any issue of them being some didgy company if that's what you're worried about.
I do know that they've got limited stock at the moment, although they seem to be getting new deliveries fairly quickly. They're not too easy to get hold of on the phone, and can take a while to respond by email (my guess is they're slammed with demand for the TP2 as they seem to be the only place at the moment to get one on contract).
I had some issues on Friday ordering from them so ended up cancelling, but they emailed this morning to apologise about the mixups, and I had a very helpful guy who's trying to get me one out pdq so fingers crossed.
If you want it on contract, and you want it now, then as far as I'm aware, they are your only option. Others on here have already had TP2 delivered from MPD so they will get you one, there might just be a couple of days delay.
Sweet, thanks.
I think I might just have to purchase one soon then. See, I really need a new phone. I did have an LG viewty which absolutely sucked and wasn't working so I threw it at a concrete floor and the screen went blank and doesn't show anything so now I'm stuck with a SE W810i and it's torture ;o
So yeh, Thanks, Chris

What did you expect? Dont Do this with the Touch Pro 2, it wont fair well at all.
I expected it to work :O Didn't think about it breaking was too annoyed when trying to make important texts... And I wouldn't dare do that witht he tp 2
Thanks
Just to clarify... bought my TP2 on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk a week ago... it's sweet as a nut!
I got my Tilt 2 March of this year. While it's been fun, I notice less and less support for it everywhere. We've had some good times together, but it' can't be helped that it's time to switch over to an android phone. It's in really good condition and I was thinking about putting it on ebay. Can I charge at least $200 for this thing? I don't want to get a new phone until I can unload this one somehow. Yes it does seem like a waste, but it's rapidly becoming the phone not to have IMO. I've been rocking the Energy Rom since I've had it but the lack of apps and other goodies that the newer phones have are killing it right now. So that's why I think it's time for an upgrade.
This was my first smartphone. I upgraded from a motorola razor that I had for 3 years. I think that the next phone I get will be the last phone that I'll need. It just seems like the Tilt 2 didn't last as long as I thought it would.
how is the condition? if in mint condition 200 is easy on ebay
It's definitely mint. Never been dropped or anything like that. I'm just wondering if it'll be worth anything to the general public seeing as how there are bigger and better phones out there.

its easily possible if its in mint condition and comes with accessories and all
It's not worth anything. Send it to me for proper disposal.
Seriously, I've only had mine since June, but I love it. Not my first Smartphone as I replaced an LG Incite with it and have been using a WinMo PDA since 2003. I have yet to not find an app for the things I do with a phone and for just entertainment. Is it perfect? Of course not, but is any phone? I don't think so. I have friends with iPhones who marvel at some of the tings my Tilt 2 does and I have friends with Android phones who are jealous of some of the features their phones are missing. If it isn't doing what you need it to do, then by all mean upgrade, but ditching a prefectly good, working phone just because you think the grass is greener on the other side is foolish. You might get $200 on eBay (I paid $250 for mine in June and it was NIB), but with Verizon getting iPhones in Jan and Windows Phone 7 due in December you better hurry as prices will be falling real soon.
...they change their old phone for a new one?
I mean, I've had my galaxy s2 for a year now, and it's been my trusty sidekick, never any problems, complete powerhouse and nothing has really made me want to change in that year until the One X which I will be getting later today.
I just feel that somehow I am betraying my sg2, it is still in pristine condition, has been flashed with different roms multiple times, mods etc... we've been through a lot together - I can feel it looking at me with it's sad super amoled plus eyes.
If the one x provides as half a good an experience as my sg2 has then I'll be a happy man. The sg2 is going to the mrs and I can already see how it'll be getting thrown into her bag with keys and other random objects rather than being safe in my pocket.
Be well old friend
Will feel similar with my HD2, though not at the same level as the SGS2 in terms of hardware, but our bonding is much older (since 2009), been oc'd to 1.5 and have seen Windows, Linux, Mango and got stuck with Android. I'm still quite happy with the first 4.2" multi touch phone and will feel sad to see it converted into just a mobile with songs and games when in the hands of my missus.
Well, I for one will not feel sad at all! That is because I am going from the ageing Desire
It has served me well so far and I am glad I will be staying on the htc bandwagon.

Came in to post almost this exact message. My Desire will be consigned to the phone graveyard of the third draw down in my desk, from which it might occasionally be called back into action, but will mostly be enjoying its retirement
I was really sad when I went from my old SE G502 to Desire...one, because I had never spent that much money on a phone and two, when I pulled it out of the box I thought "What have I got myself into??" But it was step I had to make and got over the initial sadness pretty quickly.
Now...I am saying goodbye to the Desire. Like the OP, it has been my trusty sidekick, I have looked after it like no phone before, rooted, ROM'd, and basically learnt a lot of tech things on this phone. I will still mess with it as Dev continues on that device, but I cannot wait to order a HOX!
I'll be sad, yes, but this is just the next chapter
I'm gonna miss my little Desire S ,never had a prob with it in the past year and it goes like the clappers ;(
No, not really.
I usually pass the old one on to my wife so I still get to give it the occasional tweak. It's not very rewarding though as I have to dress it up to look like an iPhone so she can use it.
I'm currently on a Nokia 6210 Navigator, you can imagine how sad I'll be when my HOX arrives
Wow. I hope one x blows you away otherwise 5+ years is a long time to wait for a new upgrade! For me anyway. lol
probably the wrong place to say this as i know everyone here hates apple, but when i sold my ipad 1 on ebay and had to wrap and ship it, i was sad too!
i had taken it everywhere, and it was in pristine condition, really looked after. used it pretty much every day for hours, and i was one of the first adaptors too (had it bought for me in the US a week or so after launch).
i don't feel that way about my iphone 4 though, its been getting sluggish and the home button is dodgy, and there is nothing special about the phone that i will miss, or that makes it any better or worse than the next phone i get (be it the Note, or the HTC One X, I still havent decided!)
Indeed. It'll be a huge loss to not only myself but my immidiate family when I get a new phone.
I will still pop round to see it at the weekends and sit with it in the garden and pour it some afternoon tea. I'm just glad I still have the memories. I remember ordering a Pizza on the dominos app and.... ohhh... how we enjoying those late night under the duvet while I was knocking one out on the youjizz mobile site.
You never know whats around the corner. Live each day with your mobile phone like its the last, but just remeber all the good times you had together.
As I'm coming from a Legend, I won't be sad at all. Well, thats a lie. It was a great friend for the past two years and no matter how often I dropped it, It's still in a great condition! It will go into my drawer together with my G1 and probaly be forgotten until i go on vacation this summer.
I gave (lent) my Desire HD to my cousin who is trying to develop some android apps and Im using the wifes Desire til the One X arrives (if it arrives, order kept getting cancelled by vodafone system for some reason)

5* post, I whole heartedly enjoyed this
Yeah, I do miss my phone when I send it off for sale.
However, I usually upgrade to a better phone, so that love usually vanishes almost instantly.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I'm going to miss my Desire, I've had it for almost two years now. But the shiny newness of the One X will more than compensate.
I'll miss my desire. It has survived countless drops on the ground, the rare times were I don't check the weather and end up cycling half an hour trough the rain w/o a jacket and many screw ups with roms and mods.
But despite that it's still going strong and still would for more than a year.
Also the fact that I've sanded the brown coating of the aluminium down giving it a total new look doesn't help when I'm looking for a new phone.

Haha I also bought a G502, it's the only phone I've ever bought without contract, so that was my most expensive phone. My next phone also was the Desire, but I didn't feel sad, I was relieved. And guess what my next phone is: a One X
The One X is not that expensive for my, I got a really great deal. A one year contract with 100 minutes + 3000 sms + 1 GB data and I got the phone for free. I pay 38 euro/month for 1 year. Total costs for 1 year contract: 455 euro. The price for the phone without contract: 550 euro
Yep - I'll be coming from an Evo 4g. It got stepped on a few weeks ago and I'm stumbling to the finish line with an old POS phone (as of yet, that phone is undetermined.) The Evo was my first smart phone or even high end phone for it's time. I loved it. That being said, the one X is just better in every respect (especially if the rumors about Sprint's one X coming with a kickstand are true !)
Debating whether to upgrade from my SGS. I got it last year and T-mob say i can add the remaining 4 months contract onto a new 18 month contract.
Is the phone worth it?
I'd say wait until the GS3 is announced and make decisions then. It's a great phone , everything runs brilliantly for me apart from a few games and battery life is pretty good.
Wait for a month or so, you can see many of us are having sorts of issues with the screen and such. Until we get some form of official statement it's not worth the hassle of going through replacements.
By then SGS3 might have been announced and production of HOXs may have improved....
Definitely.
It's an amazing device that makes iFans very jealous when you show them
There are a few software issues at the minute (nothing at all major despite what you may read on here) but it is still THE BEST Smartphone to date.

yes my friend worth it...dont thinking
Is two years not too long for a phone. The thought of moving from 18 to 24 worries me.
Will the phone be 2 year future proof?
I did get my SGS about a year and a bit after the launch and its only just getting "past it"

Why do you have to get a 24-month contract? You can do 12-monthers with Vodafone.
And in terms of being future proof, it definitely will be. Especially when a quad-optimized Jellybean is out. Oh that and the X has a lot of developer support on here so it certainly won't be left behind
Maybe this is fate, just called t-mob to buy out my contract and take out a new one. Out of stock!
I think its a sign to be patient
Took the plunge... But Tmobile are out of stock.
