my question is, is it possible to flash a samsung sgh-i300 ? I know its an older phone. But I like it !
Is it possible to flash an other rom, for example the one for the sda music ?
I just want to have windows mobile 5 or 6 or 6.1 ... because of tools and programs and games.

I think it is possible to port wm5 or wm6 in i300,but there isn't anyone to do this .
I am looking for that Since one year ago and doesn't found any thing and just heard that o2 released i300 with wm5 in last series.

sorry for posting this noob questions here, I see that you all are discussing software development and stuff, but it is the only place I've found to ask about it.
My situation: I have a Dell Axim X51v wich is still on warranty and CompleteCare (until march 2009!). It has a WM5 A04 Portuguese Rom wich is very unstable and quite lame (I don't like the system in portuguese!) and I'm looking forward to use the WM6 Football Rom, that everywhere I read says its very nice.
The fact is: If I had to call Dell for support, I'll need to give them the Ax with the WM5 Portuguese rom. I really consider this since the device isn't brand new and if something happens I don't want to loose it.
So, what I need to know is how (and if it is possible of course) to get the image of my Ax as it is now, to store in a safe copy on my pc or a cd, upgrade to Football's WM6 (wich version, btw? I see that there are RTM and Preview A06 on the thread) and then eventually get it back to my current rom, if I need to use the warranty. I know that the upgrade part is well documented around the internet, but the downgrade to the same or similar system is the major doubt.
I'll be grateful for any help. I'm new to all this and there are lots of knowledge around. Never had any experience flashing, just upgraded my ROM one time with the official procedure from HP, on my old Ipaq.

I do not recommand to install the new file because they will broke dell warranty (I know you still come back to A12 rom but for potugal rom I don't know.
Well, I guess since you can flash a different language ROM of a different OS you could turn back to the other... or does there are problem flashing into an "older" version rom? (mine is A04 brazilian)

My WM5 is crashing frequently and I don't know why... I've installed some old dictionaries and maybe they messed it up. As I think on hard-reseting it, I consider the system upgrade, since WM5 is stupidly slow sometimes...
anyone else know about this rom switch-around?
I guess that if I have to call Dell, or my Ax is usable and I can switch the rom or it is unusable and probably they won't note that it was hacked! What about that?

Y dont u try a samsung epix rom i heard the epix is just like the i780 but with wm6.1 and some tweaks

You can go to the Samsung website and check the WM6.1 update information. There is detailed instruction on how to update
I just upgrade my samsung I780 from FMG service center at 2nd Floor Lowyat Plaza, Take around 3 hours and then after 3 hours the technician said my phone upgrade half way got problems, so i ask to downgrade also cannot then when start phone hang in the welcome there, then later they said need to change motherboard cause got chips spoil need RM600++ ,and i ask before that trade in only RM350, so luckily my warranty period still got 1 moths left, need 1 to 2 weeks to change things inside, so want upgrade faster go any FMG service center then you can upgrade FOC!!! I've bhought a couple of days ago a brand new htc p3300, and now I want to buy a SD.
Can you please tell me if I can put a SD with a capacity bigger than 2 gb?
The problem is that at the moment I can NOT upgrade windows mobile 5 into version 6... so for wm5 exist a patch to solve the limit of 2gb?

if its new brand then it shoulb e WM6.0 Profesional.
Check once again the Version.

No, it's new but p3300 has istallaed wm 5.0, I've already checked.
Does the patch works also for wm 5.0?
I just buy a p3300 for my girl and it's a WM6: WM5 is too old, you think about a "last piece" of an old stock!!!

Hello! I have a problem... I would like to do the upgrade to windows mobile 6 (I have an ASUS A636 N... ) but i have fear that if I will have problems I will never be able to downgrade again to wm5.... (I read some people had problems and to connect with internet and they want to downgrade to windows mobile 5 again but it was not possible or was too much hard)...
I have wm5 in italian but the upgrade it's only in english...
since an instruction say:
"Please do not upgrade different language version ROM."
That mean that I can't upgrade an english rom version over my wm5 in italian version?
Please, can you help me to find a rom of windows mobile 5 that works for my asus a636n in the case I would downgrade again?
I have some programs that runs on wm5 and I'm not sure if they will runs again with wm6 , more, I don't even know if I'll find again these good programs for wm6!
I m also searched pocket pdf reading for wm6 and I can't find anywhere!
The same for the japanese's program dictionary that I used often....
Basically, the programs that I need to use are words, pocket pdf, pocket dictionary (japanese language), to be able to navitage without problems to internet .
Ah! I read also that windows mobile 6 have included a program (push mails) that allow people to know when they received a new emails even in standy, a sound or vibration will advise that I received an email! And all of this for free! It's a feature includes in windows live ... is true?
