Hi,
I'm using a T-Mobile MDA. The SPL version displays as follows:
HERM300
IPL-1.00
HERM300 MFG
SPL-1.01
I tried to flash the HardSPL V7 but failed with error 262. Tried to falsh the HardSPL V6 - failed with the same error.
Tried another desktop computer - no help
Hard reset the MDA - no help
I got the error 262 every time.
Could anybody kindly help point me a way to bypass the error 262?

I have tow T-Mobile USA Touch Pro2, in the first one i put the hardspl and it work,than i put the Rom without any problems,but in the scened one i got the message windows updating the rom image in your pda phne....... 0% and after 10 min of waiting i got the message Error [262]: update error.I cant flash my phone with the hardspl to put a new ROM.

If you used the Hermes Hard SPL then you probably have a brick...
You need to use the Hard SPL for your model, touch pro II is DEFINATELY NOT a Hermes...

Noobs beware!
As a number have been flashing their devices with various roms not from their own carrier or country or cooked roms and bricking their device - I put up this sticky. Your device must be cid unlocked first before you do this. This applies to the coming wm6 roms to - if the rom is not specific to your device - i.e. if you try to flash the upcoming htc 3300 wm6 rom on O2 orbit - you must cid unlock first - with imei check or you will end up with a BRICK!

cid = country id i.e. locked to that country/language/vendor

If you have flashed your device and not cid unlocked it, your device maybe salvagable if you can get it into bootloader mode.
Hold down the voice speed dial button and soft reset - you should then enter bootloader mode 'multicolored' screen'
If you do, attach device to pc via usb cable (a small usb will appear bottom left of screen) and flash factory rom. (run rom executable or RUU updater from pc) You do not need to be activesynced to do this.

Before you flash again with a non-factory rom, your device MUST be cid unlocked.
If you cannot enter bootloader mode your bootloader has been damaged and your device will need to be sent away for repair.

Firstly many thanks for everyone's freely given time! Great Forum!
There seems to be a lot of confusion about who and what can be flashed with the German official ROM and then with Bepe's creation.
Can we try to clear some of the ambiguity for us simple folk? Might stop some of the repeated questions littering threads in both related artemis sections.
So, many thanks to anyone who can clarify the situation by providing definitive answers to the following questions!
(1) Can an 02 Orbit from, say, the UK or Holland be flashed with either the German and/or Bepe's ROM, even if it is CID Locked (i.e. same devcie and carrier, different country).
(2) Can a non-Orbit O2 device be flashed with either the German or bepe's ROM, even if it is CID Locked (i.e. different devcie but same carrier).
(3) Is there a fall back Rom available for non-German O2 Orbits should the upgrade fail?

By what i read "wrong vendor" means CID locked right ? but what EXACTLY is CID locked definition ?? i CAN put any sim card inside my HTC P-3300, whether from SFR operator (france) or Proximus (belgium) one... so why do i have this wrong vendor when trying to upgrade to WM6 german rom ?

cid = country id i.e. locked to that country/language/vendor thats why cid needs unlocking before flashing diff any of aboves roms.

is it just me or is any one on this forum a bit sceptical of a merchant who so brazenly operates their business under the assumption that all potential customers are all fraudsters/criminal scum? is there no - more customer friendly- merchant who can perform this much valued service?

My HTC has no vendor since I can use all SIMs from different vendors, now I upgraded from HTC Spanish version to HTC WWE version, so Vendor and Language (plus location?) locks are disabled?

Hello,
I would like to Upgrade my O2 XDA Mini S with Windows Mobile 6 (localized / German version). I hardly searched for such a WM6 Upgrade but there seems to be no final version for my device and german language.
I figured out that there is an WM6 OS Upgrade for the XDA Orbit and XDA Trion (coming soon). Might it be possible to flash only an OS-ROM for WM6 extracted from one of these O2 ROM updates? I was able to extract the OS-Image and I already backed up my current ROM using aWizard. aWizard also supports flashing a single OS-ROM only.
Some people in this forum already said I might brick my device. Is it possible or not to flash the OS ROM? Is it risky to give it a try?
Do you know a final working German Upgrade for the XDA Mini S (Qtek 9100)?

I am in Bootloader mode right now and I started the updater but it says it can't connect. I see the device in Windows and my Artemis says it sees a USB connection (it says "USB" on the bottom of the screen in the white stripe).
What do I have to do for it to start working for a change?
I think I found the problem: First, it would be wise to close mtty . Then it is important to reboot and after entering Bootloader mode to connect USB not while booting. After trying it a dozen times it suddenly worked.
Please, could someone explain how I can unlock the CID with USPL? It starts the batch, when it's done I have a black screen with the Linux penguin and it says loaded. When the RUU tries to connect, though, the device doesn't respond. So I take it the process doesn't actually get finished...

Just to inform you guys that i tried the USPL Method 3 times and always got an error message UPDATE ERROR (i think it was error number 270 ??).
Well, that was because after the DOS mode went until 100, and the dialog box for the ROM Update Utility appeared, this dialog box ask to wait for the PDA to be activesynced before presing the "UPDATE", so i was waiting for the PDA to reconnect to activesync (while in a black screen mode) before pressing update . THAT was the mistake. Don't wait for it to RE connect to activesync (strange right ?) and just press the NEXT and UPDATE without waiting anything.
THEN it worked i just upgrade to WM6 without VENDOR ID error anymore thanks to the USPL method
just got a dopod m700 for my wife i know it is a g4 ppc hence will this zip file work on it to get the cid unlocked or do i have to follow a similiar procedure as i had to for my wizard

Last night I flash my Dopod M700 to WM6 but after reboot it only enter to the boot flash screen showing IPL SPL 1.11 OS 3.7 etc......
I did unlock the CID but the flashing of WM6 seems not ok.
Then I enter to the bootloader mood and flash the WWE WM5.0 of HTC M700 rom. It did turn the M700 back to WM5.0 and then I flash it with WM 6.0 again.
However, I forgot to unlock CID again before flashing. Then now the device stuck in the boot screen with SPL 1.28 OS 3.7 etc......
I still can enter to bootloader mood, but I have tried to heal the device by flashing it with the WWE WM 5.0 rom of HTC M700 again. But it cannot be flashed again!!!! Error message came out that the rom is not for my device!!
Help!!!!!!!!!
Is the wm5 wwe rom the factory rom for your device or are you from another country?

I think I lost my HTC Trinity P3600 device :-( I was trying to update INDIGO_LITE & upgrade failed during half way and I rebooted the device & now it only boot to white screen. If I try to reload another rom it's keep saying rom is corrupted.

so it's an HTC product? look at the wiki, or logon to HTC's website to download the latest ROM for your device and region (europe, asia, etc).
What i meant was did you have hard-spl installed before you flashed, but i'm guessing not since you have the new bootloader. You really need to read up and protect your device before you flash.
Try to find an official ROM and see if that works first..

htc has official rom already.. just try and see what you like, but pdaviet and indigo are good for me.
make sure you have hard spl installed before you flash again. You can follow the guides here if in doubt.

I read your other post today and seeing no one else has replied , I will try to help you.
Have you tried a hard reset ?
If you have and had no luck , try to find an original shipped rom consistent with your spl and flash while in bootloader .
Don't try to flash any of the doctored roms, either spl 1.2 or 3.5 as you will not be able.
It is a long time since I have used the unlocker but I think if you read through the later posts , the authors used a wrapper program that requires an initial activesync connection to work.
I will look in here occasionally to see if you get it sorted or you can pm me if you have a question.

i tried to upgrade my HTC x7500 via SD card using a .nbh file found in ap3.rar
but it didn't work. After enter in the bootloader, it displays "loading..." and "00068002" and after few seconds it's going back to the colored screen displaying the Rom version 1.07.0000
What does the "0068002" mean? i suppose it's an error code.
Please could somebody help me get a image file version earlier than 1.07.0000?

Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+com manager+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD. sometimes sd flashing wont work with an sdhc card
but in any case you have not unlocked the rom yet.
You need spl 1.2 to flash the ap3 rom
I cant remember if you are the guy trying to find a dutch rom but try and find an original rom for your athena and then flash that.
once it is working you can apply the unlocker and then flash any rom

Unfortunately i can't use the spl 1.2 to unlock my HTC X7500 because it crashes just after startup (when displaying desktop) preventing me from using. Is there a possibility to use the spl 1.2 via the miniSD card? I'm not using the sdhc card.

youmust unlock the athena before flashing an spl1.2 rom
you can flash your original rom from the bootloader menu to get a working rom ,
once you have done this you can use the unlocker and then flash any 1.2rom

My ROM version is 1.07.0000, please do you know where i can find the same version or one which will work?

Marius you need to get the original language rom that came with your athena
I don't know for sure but i think spl 1.07 is the dutch rom which is nowhere to be found at present
i suggest doing a search for this or contacting htc or the original supplier of your phone.
Alternatively post a request in xda but I would do it in the general section to get a wider audience

Hi, I'm from Poland, so sorry for mistakes. I have problem with my s621. I had flashing my rom, and it wasn't finish. Now my htc when I turn it on shows only white lcd with htc logo. I turn the bootloader and try to reflash rom, but at 3 % there is an error, that is a valid id or something like that. I was trying with orginal htc rom. What Rom i soupouse to use to make reflash that rom? When boot loader menu is active on lcd is:

Turn your phone completely off. Pushing the camera button in, plug in your usb cable. The tricolor, bootloader screen will come up and you can flash your regular OEM ROM which can be downloaded from one of the stickies.
Unless your s621 has spl mod on it, you can only flash an oem rom thru bootloader.
What's the ,,OEM" rom. I do everything just like you said, I trying with orginal htc rom 1.27.405.1 and at 3% flashing there is an error 244 - this update utility cannot be used for your smartphone. Please check your update utility.... :/
try this! flash the uspl cid bypass mod, and you should be able to flash any non official(oem) rom after this.

But i need to connect s621 with active sync to flash the uspl cid. My active sync Can't be connected with my s621 in bootloader.
the one and only left thing to do, is thru bootloader, without active sync, flash an original rom from this thread if you don't already have one, and if the one you have didn't work , try another one.

Don't work. Again invalid ID my phone. I think I must write to htc, send serial number my phone and please them for a rom created for my id...
Very much doubt htc will be of any use since most ROMs are carrier specific.. If you know the carrier then a good search via google will probably find you the ROM?
