I've searched both the forums and google, but can't find an answer to my question. Can someone quickly explain what the nb0.extra and nb0.header portions of a ROM contain?
I'm trying to create a flashable ROM from a dump, but I don't have an existing template to work off of (Samsung SCH-i760). I'm hoping it is similar to the SCH-i730 or the SGH-i780, but I'm not sure what I need to be looking out for. I have successfully disassembled the bootloader and confirmed the phone is looking for an unsigned bin image.
Any help would be much appreciated!

If I need to dump a firmware of a particular sgs, in order to use it on other sgs, how's that possible?
Is it enough to use ODIN and select DUMP (AP RAM/NAND - dunno which to choose)?...
Thanks.
Please assist your favorite troll...
I have no idea, but I have searched the forum many times for a way to use the ODIN dump, and I don't believe you can.. I have my rom dumped with it though
Well... it looks like my attempts to save the world have failed, again.
Pls help. Lots of NOOB questions as I learn about my Android phone.
1) I have done a backup of my phone using ClockWorkMod ver.6.0.3.0, but I am concerned that the generated .tar file does not have anything in it. Is that correct? The phone is new. I have attached an image for whoever to have a look at.
2) I am trying to perform a mdsum5 check. I have read tutorials (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939007) and I have looked at Youtube videos, but I still don't get it. I have downloaded the md5.exe. ClockWorkMod generated a nandroid.md5. Does it contain the number that I am looking for?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

So, I have had to restore my phone, since this posting. I used ClockWorkMod to restore and it worked like a charm. However, I still need help with issue #2. Any ideas?
i can't seem to find much info on root/recovery for g3. i found a little bit about bump and stump.... saying that twrp is possible but not much hard reliable facts on the topic.
Can someone who knows what they are talking about or knows a link to someone who knows what they're talking about help me get informed?
Basically i just want to know the procedure, how reliable it is (what are the chances of bricking the device), and any other relevant info that may be available. Any help is greatly appreciated and i'll be looking forward to developing some themes for this phone .
Thanks,
KS
*edit* also wondering if anyone has tried backing up a rooted version of the stock rom and restoring it. Does this work? Or do you have to flash kdz to return to stock after trying out some custom roms?
follow this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5T7By2Zqvk (you can skip the parts on installing the rom)
Hoping to extract this file. Though from reading other threads, I suspect I need a rooted device. Is true?
thx in advance for your help!

Hello,
I am looking to root my A50, model SM-A505W, and I need the correct TWRP file in order to do so. I am having a hard time finding the correct file. I am unable to find the file on twrp.me, which is where I normally go to find these files. I have read a few other threads on here that provide a TWRP file, but I am unsure if they work with the Canadian model or are safe to use. I should preface by saying I am relatively new to rooting. I have rooted a Galaxy S5 and S6, and had a few issues but managed to solve them. My main concern is getting stuck in a bootloop by flashing the wrong software to the device. At that point I would rather have done my due diligence first rather than flashing a file that I am unsure of! Really I am just asking for clarification if I can use the TWRP files from either,

In the second thread there is mention that Magisk doesn't work with this software? I need Magisk to work for the usage of Smali patcher. So, if anyone could provide the correct software, or advise me as to what the correct solution would be, I would highly appreciate it!
