TWRP for Galaxy A50 Canadian Model - Samsung Galaxy A50 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I am looking to root my A50, model SM-A505W, and I need the correct TWRP file in order to do so. I am having a hard time finding the correct file. I am unable to find the file on twrp.me, which is where I normally go to find these files. I have read a few other threads on here that provide a TWRP file, but I am unsure if they work with the Canadian model or are safe to use. I should preface by saying I am relatively new to rooting. I have rooted a Galaxy S5 and S6, and had a few issues but managed to solve them. My main concern is getting stuck in a bootloop by flashing the wrong software to the device. At that point I would rather have done my due diligence first rather than flashing a file that I am unsure of! Really I am just asking for clarification if I can use the TWRP files from either,
This thread:

Or this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a50/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-recovery-t3941843
In the second thread there is mention that Magisk doesn't work with this software? I need Magisk to work for the usage of Smali patcher. So, if anyone could provide the correct software, or advise me as to what the correct solution would be, I would highly appreciate it!

Stuck on Samsung boot screen

I rooted my old milestone many years ago but havee been keeping my devices stock ever since, until today that is. Today I decided I wanted to try to root my Samsung SGH-I747M with Telus and everything seemed to start off smoothly. Once installed the SuperSU stopped working. I tried fixs I had read online such as updating the app, but this did not work. I read on a forum that you could flash something to disable know to help fix the problem. When I tried going this avenue I was not able to reboot my phone. I tried restoring from a backup taken before flashing, but I havent done any of this in so long im not entirely sure the backup took properly. At one point I got a message saying no OS was installed but after restoring this seemed to go away. I apparently do not remember anything about rooting from my milestone and am hoping someone may be able to help me get out of this mess. I am currently downloading the stock firmware and I think I will try flashing it tomorrow. I also was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a thread on xda that went into a more detailed explanation of how rooting works, what specifically roms and flashing all is and does. Any help is greatly appreciated.

General section is most likely the best place for that.
Here's a How-to that should get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
And here is the Sticky index: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839 Lots of good guides and info in there!

The Only problem is I already attempted to follow this and my phone will no longer boot up. Also I tried navigating through the stickies. couldn't find much info for my device. I will be trying to flash the stock firmware tonight but I want to have a clear understanding on what flashing is and what the difference is between os firmware kernel and rom and such BEFORE flashing this firmware tonight. I hope someone will be able to help.

Well that info is already in the Sticky Index. Understanding what you're doing (or about to do) is really important but you gotta start reading, it's all there.
OS, firmware and ROM are the same thing.
When your phone boots, it basically goes: Bootloaders -> Kernel -> ROM (OS).
The kernel has pretty much all the "underground" controls (RAM, Mhz, governor, scheduler, BT, Wifi, etc).
I won't write everything but those are the basics.
Also, having a Canadian variant of the S3 (that's what the M is for), doesn't change much other than flashing bootloaders and stock ROM (which you'll wanna use the Canadian variant bootloaders and Telus ROM for stock). Everything else is basically the same.

Sweet I will definitely check that out. So I did flash twrp to my phone. Is it possible that I flashed the version say for the i747 but not the m version and that is why the phone wont move past the samsung screen? Also should I attempt to get rid of twrp before flashing the stock firmware. This should answer all my questions and then I will explore the stickies some more.

If flashing a stock ROM, flash the Telus one. If flashing a custom ROM, it doesn't matter (I747 or M variant), as long as it's D2LTE.
Your recovery doesn't change anything to flashing with Odin, it will overwrite it.
Flashing the stock firmware fixed my problems. Thanks for all of your help and I will definitely be checking out the links that you sent me before trying to root again tomorrow.

fixed brick still need help

i bricked my galaxy s3 i747 and using enewman17s method I downloaded an mk5 file from another of his posts, and with his post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486 it gives me multiple folders and a boot.img. Now correct me if I'm wrong, the phone is actually up and running now, but the main problems i have found with it is that it will not read a sim card, it says the IMEI is unknown and the sound is not working at all and videos dont want to play. Do i need the files in those folders and the .img file to make everything work properly? If so Im not sure how to flash those on to my phone. The phone was originally bricked by rooting then trying to update, and the phone would only load to the at&t logo then freeze. any other information can be provided and all is welcomed thank you.
It sounds like your IMEI/EFS was corrupted or wiped.

This thread is what I have saved for dealing with such an issue, there maybe something newer take a look around the forum. Assuming there is nothing Restore Plan D of that thread is what I assume you will want to look at.
tried the methods, none worked. went to plan D and the link explaining how to do so no longer exists. is there any way i can atleast get audio output and videos to work?
Can you tell us the bootloader version on your phone?

rooting with JOdin on Linux (Debian)

I did some browsing around on here but nothing really definitively answered my questions. I just got a S6 Edge, running 5.1.1. After some research, it seems that rooting this is a bit more complex than phones I have dealt with in the past. I really don't want this bricked as I don't know how to recover. Tripping KNOX isn't a problem, I don't care about this.
From what I can tell, I use JOdin which I have downloaded. From what I gather, it works fine and can see the phone when its put in download mode.
I then need to dowload the appropriate kernel from autoroot.chainfire .eu My device is a G925T, so I expect to download that one from the CF-Auto-Root. However, I have seen one person saying that the kernel on there does not work with the S6 Edge and I should download the kernel for the S6. Is this correct?
JOdin requires a pit file and it looks like it isn't able to find one for the S6 Edge. I found a place (droidviews .com/download-pit-files-for-galaxy-s6-edge-all-models) where it claims to have the correct pit file but need to make sure.
Is there anything I am missing? Is everything mentioned above correct? Am I using the correct files here?
Anybody???

[Advice] [First-time Poster] XT1768 Flashing Stock Motorola ROM

[Qualcomm]
Hi All,
I'm here trying to root my XT1768 device, and I managed to soft-brick my phone. I was looking everywhere for a guide on how to re-flash the original (known as "stock" I guess) Motorola system ("ROM") but all I found was guides for XT1766. I didn't want to risk doing anymore damage, so I kept looking. I found a few tips across several threads, so I just wanted to formalize the way I solved it for my XT1768 so it can help someone. I have a Moto E4 I bought on eBay refurbished. It's unbranded, looks like straight from Motorola (so not Sprint, Verizon, etc.)
Disclaimer: this is only my advice. I'm no expert and not in charge of any damage to your phone. It worked for me, that's all I can say. Please be aware that other threads here instruct to verify your firmware version before any flashing of ROM, so the following instructions may actually do damage. I may have taken a risk doing those steps. If someone who reads this knows more about the issue, I'll be happy to supply more information about my specific phone and update this original post so others don't flash something they shouldn't. This post is currently the only post here specifically instructing how to flash this specific model XT1768. Please hijack this thread if you know more than me!
I flashed TWRP and Xposed, which caused a soft brick. The loading screen was stuck on the loading animation (Motorola + Lenovo logos).
Solution:
1. Download the Motorola flashing tool known as RSDLite: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59348530&postcount=6
2. Download the stock ROM from the following link. I downloaded the one dated 2018-10-31 (1.4GB). https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/perry/official/RETAIL/
3. Open RSDLite, hook up your phone. It should be listed in the tool on the first row. Choose the zip file of the ROM under "Filename" and click start. I did the decompression and flashing together.
4. Your phone will reboot and work fine.
edit: never mind

How To Guide [ROOTED] [SM-A325F/DS] Successfully rooted without any communication issues. (Android 13)

Humble Request:
I have finally done the scary process of voiding the waranty of my samsung device. I did it for nethunter. But as always, there are some major road blocks to get nethunter to work on this device to full extent. Currently, my device works seemlessly but the only things not working are HID and WIFI Injections. (the exact 2 attacks for which i rooted my device in the first place).
I have read alot about this situation, all info regards to the issue being related to the kernal of my device which made me go down the dark rabbit hole of learning how to create a custom kernel for my device. sadly I cannot do anything RN.
If anyone has the right kernel with external wifi adapter support, Please redirect me. I will be very greatful.
I want to use Ralink RT3070 usb wirless adapter with my [SM-A325F/DS].

Process of rooting the SM-A325F:
When i started to plan the Process, I read that many people were facing the IMEI problem with their A32s so I waited until a new baseband and firmware build was released. When i rooted my device luckily I did it correctly in the first try.
My Firmware Build was: A325FXXU2CVK3 Download [I used the "AP file to root"] [First check your Build no. If its differant then download your exact one. Don't blame me afterwards]
You can find the list of a firmwares for all A32 4G devices
After unlocking the bootloader, I followed this turtorial
Unlocking the bootloader was very easy compare to other devices. (For instance, I spent a Whole month tying to unlock Galaxy SCL24. I searched for the exact firmware so many times that i memorized the whole number.)
I used Latest magisk APK.
Afterwards, I downloaded This Root Explorer A/C to my knowledge, It is trusted. But Whose giving warranties.
I installed Nethunter By downloading form HERE Yon can find installation turtorial yourself.
After all this, I currently can't get my external wifi adapter to work yet. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank You.
