I'm hoping somebody here can help, because I'd hate to have to get rid of a device that I really love...
Used Helmi's WM6 (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_Home) to upgrade from WM2003SE and everything was working beautifully!
I was absolutely LOVING the new software until my device just stopped accepting the passcode that I had been using for 2 years. What I don't understand is I had to use the passcode a few times after the upgrade and all was fine. What could have happened for it to suddenly change by itself (because I know it wasn't me)?
Someone at the PocketPCAddicts forum suggested that I locate an original factory ROM to wipe out everything on the device and try again from scratch. I've searched the web looking for such a beast and can't find one (since the manufacturer/carrier no longer support it).
Can someone here help?
Debbie
Wow, I'm on pg. 3 already... :-(
Someone have a solution, fix, suggestion for me on this? I can't possibly be the only one this happened to.... Or am I?
Thanks again!
Debbie

I have been sent a link from O2 Data Support for downloading the new XDA2s ROM upgrade, which apparently will fix the Bluetooth problems.
The link is...
http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda_II/XdaIIs_launchROM.htm
Haven't done anything with it yet, but thought you guys might like to know...
regards,
Guy
Hmm I wonder if I can use this update on my O2 Xda2s.
I got it in Malasyia.
Noel
I installed it on my UK XDA 2s, I will report back later.
In the PDF it's saying that this version is only for devices sold by O² UK or O² Ireland... Not sure if I should give it a go on my version..
Noel
I think I might wait and see what others say about this before I install it myself. So many that have it already say it is great but then you hear others say it has caused problems.
That post is the launch rom, not an upgrade. LMAO It is intended for people who attempt to flash the XDA IIs with a different vendors rom and screw it up.
Mike
Nope, its not, click the link. O2 are obviously just too lazy to create a new page for a new rom!
Nigel
HAHA you are correct!!! LMAO oh well.
Hi..have installed the update..and have encountered several problems...was wondering if anyone could help me.
I hate the fact that the clock has disappeared from the top right so whe u are using applications its no longer visible. Is there any way of bring it back?
Also now when you click the o2 at the top it dosn't give the active connections anymore. Therefore whats the quickest way to disconnect the gprs? and is there any way of bringing that back to how it used to be?
I have also had to reset my phone more often that I had to before.
Was wondering if anyone had encountered the same problems and how to resolve them.
Thanks so much...
Bit the bullet and upgraded last night, wifi still works and as I use Corporate mode I don't get any issues with 02 active, icons or clocks. All seems normal, so far!
Have to agree with Dave. I finally bit the bullet and installed the update last night. Don't like the new O2 active and put the clock straight back with the registry key.
Other than the missing clock and poor O2 Active software which I never use anyway no real problems. Tom Tom still works fine with my Bluetooth GPS receiver. WIFI still works fine with WPA security and everything locked down on the access point.
Still receive SMS notification and its nice that you're not limited to 70 char when using ' in sms text messages now!
All ok.
har5ha:
Just get the old O2 active back. To to this, head to the xda-dev FTP site, find the old O2 XDA IIs extended rom, pull it, find the file install.ARM.CAB (O2 active)
Sync/backup yr stuff then hard reset the XDA IIs, and let it do its stuff. When leave it to install the extended rom, but be ready to soft reset it when you get asked the 'corporate/personal' question (you'll have to watch the screen since there is a timeout). Once it reboots, copy install.ARM.CAB to the machine, and execute it. It will soft reset yr device at the end.
I use 2 things from O2 active, the battery plugin and the O2 icon to kill connections. Shame billy did not think to include a disconnect dialogue as well really (he put on in for vpn).
There might be a way to install old over new, dunno. I tried and it locks loads of files (even if you prevent it from loading).
Nigel
thanks Nigel...I ended up installing gb soft for the disconnect button.
So its ok...still getting loads of crashing. I think am going to reinstall it and then use corporate mode..hopefully it will crash less!
can I get an update on xda iis rom update
Hi all, I'm still new to this whole thing but reading and researching all I can. Don't have an xda iis as of yet, but on the high streets waiting list. I like the phone and in one way, can't wait, but don't want problems when I get it, especially at the price. Can anyone on o2 that has purchased their phone from o2 let me know how you are getting on...problems...ect, before and after the update.? To be honest, I'm a bit afraid to bite the bullet and get one right now due to what I'm hearing...especially since I'm not very computer smart. I do understand that it depends a lot on the manufacturer of the phone but if I had problems like I'm hearing about it would really do my head in...(no patience). Thanks
Well I love my phone to bits...had issues with the update but now that I have hard reset it and put it corporate mode its not freezing anymore.
But you have to remember its a pocket pc...like a pc..will need to be reset every so often...I was resetting mine of average once a day. It just takes a minute.
There are some negative points..but the positive outweighs the negative I think. My old pda was palm os (clie) and this is windows which is really good! As well as the fact that it has a phone built in too!
Hi all.
Can you please post some more feedback on this rom.
How is the BT stability?
Range?
Crackling noise?
License Expired troubbles?
I know its Build 3500, but maybe something else in this rom makes a difference.
How about the problem with sound dissapering when you answer a call.
Any troubbles here? This is really a pain in the (_!_)
Running the New Rom for a couple of days now and it seems much better than the launch Rom, The O2 active stuff is just as pants as usual so remove that and the "Connections" exe from Windows\startup.
Best thing is that it's stopped the annoying bug of the GPRS settings being screwed up when you enable/disable Wi-Fi.
Recommend it myself

Anybody knows the password for this rom
PDA2K Upgrade
Hi, Can this rom replace the i mate rom on the 2K.& If so will it then be sim locked to O2? as I want to use an O2 pay as you go, & T-mobile sim
many thanks in advance............
Sorry to annoy everybody, I have had my M2000 a while now and there are a few things I would like a hand with.
1) I unlocked the M2000 and am currently using it on O2 pay and go. However I cannot use GPRS, if anybody could help me out by telling me settings and/or how to connect properly I would be very grateful!
2) I am running Windows Mobile SE Version 4.21.1088 (build 14132) are there any upgrades possible at all to be able to use Windows Media Player 10? I don’t mind upgrading operating system as long as it doesn’t cost too much.
3) Is there a way to back up just my text messages from the M2000 so I can have them saved on my computer and/or my 1 GB SD card?
4) Finally (sorry about this) does anybody know why sometimes when I make calls I can’t hear the dial or the person talking but they can hear me? I have checked the volume (I'm not that dumb) but resetting it is the only thing that works, which is pretty annoying.
Thank you very much for your help. I know there are probably a million listings with these answers but if you could direct me to them or give me your own verdict I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks again.
1. do a search in the forum maybe excluded to the networking it forum
search string should be something along these lines "gprs AND payandgo"
or something like that
2
read this
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
3. again search for something like "SMS AND backup"
Thanks for that Rudegar, if anybody else can help me out on this one too, I would really appreciate it. You gave me a link to download WM5, are you currently using WM5, and would you recommend it? I have no programming experience really and it looks quite complicated to install so much so I don’t know what some of the files are etc. will there be an easier version where all you have to do is click a button and it will auto install? You’re the clever one here so ill do whatever you recommend, ill take your word for it. Thanks again Rudegar, if anybody else can help please do.
Thank you.
I have had my M2000 for about 2 months and for about the last month i have also been have the same problem as number 4, where people i call can hear me but i cant hear them, when i fiddle with the volume slider on the side i can sometimes (only sometimes) hear a split second of sound from the other person, its SO annoying having to reset
could be a radiostack issue
maybe an upgrade of it will fix it
also had some issues with my xda2 when people call it sometimes take awhile before they can hear me
the cause of that is bluetooth tools which seem to be trying to direct my call to my bluetooth headset
dont matter if i have a bluetooth headset though it still try take about 10sec before they hear me then
Hmmm, glad to hear I'm not the only one with that problem. It is really annoying though having to reset it when i need to make a call. I'm worried about using a radio update as I don't have a clue about who has made it and what it will do especially if its a con. Where can i go about getting a trusted Radio update? Talking about updates, is there a ROM update available?
Guys install this cab file it will fix your problem..
Or while you don't hear the other party just turn on the BT then turn it back OFF this will solve..
read these pages
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel
there you get all you need to know about upgrades of all kind
I have taken a huge risk in installing WM5... Well I'm doing my best anyway. I need some help though.
I have so far got to re-partitioning and formatting my device but whenever I press format an error message comes up saying "Error FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed" what the heck does that mean? can anybody help me out?
Big thanks to everybody who has helped me out so far with this and for anybody elce if you can help me, please do.
Thanks.
Anyone know if it is possible to remove a cab file like this after I have installed it? I've loaded it and it seems to have screwed up my pocket pc.
Thanks,
Cian
PHEW!!
I'm so glad i didn't install that cab. I was weary to start with and I'm glad i didn't it appears to be some sort of intruder on a pocket PC which jumbles up the settings. Just for anybody elce who is about to download it, take some advice, DONT PLEASE!!! I'm trying to upgrade my ROM but orange are crappy and dont supply ROM updates yet. Ill try the I-Mate Update. Fingers crossed. Thanks again to everybody who's helped me out!
I know everybody hates these types of posts, but I've searched through everything and I think I've finally got it.
I downloaded the XDA-Dev .20 version (wmxl) off the Wiki, and installed it. It all went great, was fast to load up, and its much faster then WM5 in my opinion. Then, (this is where I might have screwed up) I installed the 1.38 radio. Was I supposed to do this? Who knows. I set up my internet access (I have the traditional unlimited package, not medianet or anything) and I'm browsing with 3G. Works pretty well, but I notice its hanging after sending emails and whatnot (doesn't disconnect even after I click "disconnect" in the email program for POP3).
I also installed the 8525 keyboard fix. Looks like it worked, because I don't have any keyboard problems.
What should I have done differently? This place is a great resource. Edgier then Hofo but still smart.
I'm a happy 8525 owner now that I have wm6!

First off, welcome to the xda-dev! Second, there's actually an entire thread devoted to issues with this ROM already:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296126
Answers are best found there for your problems. Go ahead and make a post there and someone will be of some assistance . Just be sure to be thorough and list any other third party programs you may have installed (if any).
Overall though, it does seem like you've got a really good handle on things already. Good job!
@ tmoney
as taurusbullba says there is a thread devoted to this, however you can take a look at my guide aswell. You have carried out most of the stuff kind of blind but reading up always helps.
This goes through the process of:
prepping the device for flashing
flashing HardSPL v2 to the device (it explains why)
flashing radio 1.38.00.10
flashing WMXL v0.2
restoring stuff after upgrading
your first step should ALWAYS be to ensure a version of HardSPL is on your device, this SPL version is almost ready to make the device 'unbrickable' so is a must before doing ANYTHING.
hello everyone!
i am totally new to all this, just got my first smartphone (an "old" tmobile mdaIII). i palyed around with it a bit now, its really great! unfortuneatly i am running into several problems, eg. cannot connect to my wlan.
the thing is, i am a total noob with all this smartphones/handheld/pocketpc technics... so i figure, i will have to work my way thru. if you could help me a little, i would really be glad!
first of all, i would like to know if that phone could still have stored some kind of data on it? the battery was out for almost a year now, but maybe there are some files somewhere? how can i restore my phone to a totaly fresh status? is the hardwarereset the way to go?
of course i would like to update the software and stuff, i think the mda is still running windows 2003 and its rom is version GER 1.06 or something... (??)
do i have to get an USB2MDA cable for flashing roms and updating?
or can i do this via bluetooth or wifi?
if you have any other advice for a noob like me, i will gladly take it!
please dont be mad, if i have missed info on all this in the forums... i raed thru a lot now, but it is just getting darker and darker.....
any help is very much appriciated!
thx in advance!

HArd reset to restore your phone to fresh status.
From what I've gathered reading about the GPS problems on XV6900's with Verizon....you might need to know the history of my ROM's.
1. I got the phone brand new 3 weeks ago and of course it came with 6.0 out of the box.
2. I installed the newest Verizon 6.1 ROM w/ radio 3.37.78
3. I then installed NFSFAN's 6.5 v7 ROM
4. I installed "NFSFAN Verizon GPS Registry.cab"
So for starters my GPS does not ever connect. I don't even know where to start. I've been searching and reading on here for 4 hours this morning and about 5 hours before bed last night. I just got really confused. Lots of what I found was regarding an older Verizon 6.1 update, so I'm not sure any of that was applicable to me. Please point me in the right direction so I can start using Google Maps. Thanks in advance!
Now Pandora.....I have installed the pandora app that I found in the NSFFAN's 6.5 FAQ thread. Well it installed fine, but when it asks for my email and password there is no where to input them. The screen is just solid blue and at the bottom says "Back" and "Sign In". I changed my hardware button to bring up a keyboard thinking that might help, but no such luck. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it once already. Once again thanks in advance!

Alright, I realize it sucks when there is a new thread every week about this, but there is also a ton of old information on this site and it makes finding an answer very hard and even when I think I know what to do I look at the thread date and it's over a year old....and thus refering to an old Verizon ROM. Obviously the answer in on this site somewhere I just need someone to point me to the most recent solution that also correlates with my ROM history and problem. If I have to I'll paypal someone $5 if they can get my GPS working.
I haven't seen anyone have the problem I'm having with Pandora. Has anyone had this issue? Am I actually alone on this one? Are there any other native Pandora program options?

For the first time you open pandora,
open the keyboard before you open pandora,
it should stay open.
it's a problem with pandora itself.
also it seems to not be working correctly with 6.5 as of right now.
I put it on there for others to test for me,
but everyone is reporting it is a no go.
:/
hopefully pandora will release a update asap.
Also, gps issue,
verizon is blocking ip's or something like that,
therefore everything people are doing to make gps work,
is more of a work around.
And I'm sure verizon will figure out a way to counteract those as they are crafty son's of b*tches when it comes to people unlocking stuff they want locked down.
