He deleted or touched the folders inside \Windows\WinSxS
And now the only way is to let windows rebuild them... yippieeeee... will never do that.
U can try deleting all the *.config files inside the folder hopeing that Windows will correct them.

I've tried to change the dialer but I've not able to. Do we need the new 4 .dll and SmartDialing.lnk to use this ? I'm worried, because if I change the dialer, everything looks fine, I can receive calls, but I can't make calls.

1) in ita rom all works well;
2) same like point 1;
3) there is in 0409\OEM\ folder a subfolder thit inside a provxml, you have to add there the english string to replace the italian one...

when i try to decode the NK.nbf in the Qtek_9100_RUU_Prodigy_10107105_Qtek_WWE_ship ROM on the FTP, it appears some abnormitys.

I too got that error message in WinImage.. How do I get around it?
NEvermind - I realise now the nbk is the system ROM and not in FAT16 format. The _ms is the extended ROM and can be used with WinImage.
Is there a way to extract the actual files from the ROM using this? For example, if there is a specific file that is in the /windows directory, can I convert the .nbf to .nba then extract it somehow?

Run RegLogger and select "Capture" in "Log" menu.
You can save log into text file.
I recommend if you switch focus to another application, clear "Update view" mark.
This will increase speed in times.
When you switch back to RegLogger you can set mark again, of course.
Also you can specify include and exclude filter.
It will applied only to exe filename.
If you have VGA device you can decrease font size - you will see more information.
I don't recommend to kill my program. You *should* close it via menu, otherwise your device can hang.
RegLogger is free, but you use it without any warranties.
Compatible with WM 2003 SE and WM 5.0.
Tested on Dell x51v, HTC 3400 and on emulators.
I don't know if it work on WM 6.0.

Yes, filesys.exe in windows directory. I've moved the 3 program/dll/txt to windows directory and executed from there but still getting the same error.

i have been trying out this kitchen. quite nice.
however, i have a problem.
on first boot, volume slider works nicely.. but there is not task manager. I thought it needs a reboot..
after first reboot, task manger shows up in the right top corner and works fine.but, the volume slider gets unmapped.
out of the packages list.. i have chosen all bluetooth apps, java, task manager, volume control, keyboard, voice dial and command.
Any suggestions?

maybe a dumb question, but after I start the .cmd file, and the kitchen shows up, I have to specify the map where the packages are, then he keeps saying cannot find packages.sof

U press at the diamondkitchen then press 1.
After that up in the cornor u will see Package_tools & Buildos. Press at buildos. Then Load rom. Choose package, and press go and close window after it's finished.
As a reward for all of you for your tests of my ROM (over five thousand downloads ) I'm releasing the full kitchen for you to try out.
This kitchen is based on PlatformRebuilder from bepe and new interface from ervius. It incorporates the native AKU5 kernel, which has leaked from HTC's laboratories.
It's for smart guys - if you can't do anything with it, just flash one of the available ROMs. If you have some smart questions - don't hesitate to ask, but don't post generic questions about cooking! It's not the right topic for such questions...
I have one good advice for all of you:
as my ROMs a heavily modified, use "Load ROM" option and start from one of the predefined sets, don't start from the scratch! Later, when you get familiarized with my ideas of cooking - go on.
The same goes for adding new builds - DON'T do this at the beginning! There're 23017 and 23052 builds included, so you don't have to - and by just adding a new one you will most probably screw your ROM up!

Once I do this to my SPB do I put it here...OEM\HERMES\COMMON ?

I only 'loaded' your ROM,clicked 'create ROM' and got that error.
I changed nothing at all.
There is a folder cecompr_LZX.dll but no file.
If I untick LZX compression I still get errors

I cab2oem'd my SPB and placed the folder in "C:\Hermes.DarkVisions.v5.KITCHEN\OEM\HERMES\COMMON".
I then created my 1st ROM
SPB is in there but not 'active'.
I think maybe I should have placed somewhere else?

Can't remember, but isn't SpbHome being run from the StartUp folder? If so then make sure you have a proper initflashfiles.txt in your package. Check also the *.lnk file - if it leads to the \Windows\MobileShell.exe.
And as for the placement... while it's ok to put it there, all the additional and optional packages should be rather put in EXT folder (but beware, it has different structure!), because you can't deselect those from the OEM folder.
I tried so many times the spb mobile shell into oem or into ext and nothing... it dont works... simply this cab is one of those cabs that cant be set as EXT or OEM by a tool....
But maybe you can make it manually... ameet or -G- has wonderfull tutorials for this topic.
If I will have some spare time, I can do it for you... but don't know, when.

yes i'm getting an error to. i did just as you said. i tried on two computers, xp and w7.

Before upgrading，please make sure your phone unlocking. And then extract the the“Dopod C720 23121 6.5rom.exe”. Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe directly.

I think it's difficult to me. Because I lack the English resources, such as English 23121sys，oem and software pieces. And there are some input questions about my Chinese input software. I do not know if there is no problem with the English input, not to I have no English text input. I'm very sorry.
