Hi all,
I wanted to flash my phone with the "Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM" from meschle, but after starting the STEP 1 batch file, I get an error that the flash software cannot be run under a 64 bit operating system. Any ideas how to avoid this error, or do I really have to find a 32 bit machine from somewhere?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Kind regards, Matthias
PS: sorry for x-posting, but it seems the original thread was not the right place for my question
I had on my Notebook also only Vista (with the 64 Bit) and only problems with flash.
As solution I added myself an external, boatable, USB plate with XP-pro.
With this plate boats and everything runs as lubricated.
Try this link at it has all the info needed for USPL in Vista as the drivers you need.

and this for the XDA forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312052
thanks, I will check that out ...
kind regards
I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and have flashed my Artemis several times with different roms. No problem at all.
Hi mfajf,
as said I have tried it with the "Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM", but get the error that the flash program is not able to run under x64. Don't you get this error?
Kind regards, Matthias

ROM date : 11/26/02
Radio version : 6.18
Protocol version 324e4
This is locked to T mobile. I want to unlock it. I have usb cable with me. I downloaded xdaunlock.exe & saved it in my PPC with help of active sync. I opened the soft in PPC it says cannot get codes. I think this version of my PPC is too low. WHat am i suppose to do now? Should I upgrade? if i have to upgrade please tell how to upgrade or is there any old soft to unlock this? Please help me.
You should upgrade to the xda-developers special edition ROM
xdaunlock requires the wmodem application, which isn't included in your ROM-Version.
Or you can alos cook your own rom. Best choice for unlocking would be 3.17.03

You do not need any Linux on your machine.
The special Rom comes in exe format and if you cook your own, you can choose between exe-Format for easy-Flashing or nb1/nbf-Format for secure flashing.
You find Special Edition ROM here:
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/tools/special_rom_1.2.exe.zip
and a Rom kitchen here:

Thanks a lot again. I have stared downloding the special edition rpm now. Is it ok if I run it in the Windows98 meachine? Should I transfer the full 15mb soft into the PPC? I think i am asking u a stupid question but i am not too familiar with these PPC. Does this works only in WIN XP or WIN 98 is ok?
I think win 98 should be ok.
It just requires a working active sync connection (I never tried this under win 98)
You don't have to transfer the file to your PPC.
Unzip the file, so that you get the real exe-file, run it on your PC and follow he instructions....
Stefan
I will try it out in an hour & post the results.
Thanks a lot. I unlocked my ppc without any problem. Thank U very much.
Hi there,
I read the forum for some days now and did learn quite a lot. Unlocked my T-Mobile MDA Vario II, flashed HardSPL, and also a new WM6 Rom. Since I'm on Vista i have some Problems now. After the WM6 Rom was on the Device Vista detected a new Mobile Device and now Mobile Device Center from Vista is freaking out, sometimes it detects my phone, sometimes not. I pressume because of WM6, since with WM5 on the Phone i didn't have these Problems..
Anyone knows something about that?
Another thing is, i really would like to have a german wm6 rom, but the Tool to convert a .nb to a .nbh file i found in the Wiki (Koch) doesn't seem to work in Vista, i always get an compiler error when i load the .nb file. Are there any other Tools or could someone here maybe just build me a german rom with Vodafone OEM stuff and convert it for me?
regards,
nEUTRon
You really need to read mrvanx guide, look at my signature.

I must learn to read properly! The problem is caused because the device centre sees it as a new device, it would be best to uninstall the device centre and reinstall it that should sort it. In regards of the tools problem I know of nothing to fix this, I have to run mine on XP it is the only way.
Damn...Thanks anyway. So i have to make my rom when i'm back at office with some XP machine
I have the same problems with Vista detecting my phone. I sometimes have to plug and unplug it three times before it detects it. Also, it seems to work best for me with the option "Enable advanced networking functionality" unchecked in Settings | Connections | USB to PC.

Cheers
Im pretty sure it is unlocked because I did install the USPl by poof and i did try to install the original files but it still giving me errors ! What can I do we talk about 1 month phone !!! please help me SOS
Why would you want to downgrade to WM5? WM5 was a pain in my arse. so many problems I could have smashed my phone with a hammer (estwing of course) a thousand times. Have you tried to upgrade instead? a new batch of diamond roms is looking like an awsome possibility at the moment. Aside from that, are you using vista or xp?
I get the same problem: after 2% the ROM Updater (at my point this one: "HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP") says: 244 Invalid Model ID.
Also, I previous installed USPL (again) via the Artemis_USPL.
I did an update to the "Artemis Touch 4.02 Full with 4 sided cube" ROM before, so if there would be a problem with that?..
For me all the WM6-based ROMs are too slow for an 200Mhz-Phone, e.g. my Phone needs like 10 seconds to load the contacts (no other software is running at the same time..). So its getting a little on my nervs..
I tried to find a WM 2003SE ROM for the Artemis, but there is no such Version.
Any suggestions?!
edit: I am from Germany, so is this "HTC_1.12.405.01_026790_WWE_SHIP" ROM not compatible with a german HTC Artemis?
hm, if i remember correctly this is all about the different bootloader versions...
could it be downgrade (in bootloaders) is not possible..???
we had some of this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282195
then again check with the versions here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Upgrades
maybe this works ( though its french):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1520661&postcount=13
and:you must use uspl before you try another rom, it might have been altered by another rom!!!
but seriously no wm5 is faster then yue extraclean!!! or comparable
greetz
another idea:
take out your sd card when trying to flash,
alternatively try sd-card flashing:

how faster is it than a normal wm5 rom? are there any pictures to see how it looks like?
dor515,listen to the guys wm5 sucks,really...and for those 200mhz...try overclocking with batterystatus...you can get 247mhz all the time (which is preferred) and if you want you can set up to 300 (at your own risk)
