ROM Upgrading under Windows Vista - is it possible?

Hi there!
Want to repeat my post here:
Did anybody have successfull tries to update ROM from Vista? I can't do it with AKU3.2 beta8 by standart way, can't do it with MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe (got 'ERROR 150 ROM UPGRADE UTILITY ERROR'), can't do it with mtty (can't choose USB, only COM). Is it avaliable another way to do ROM upgrade?

Thanks for irrefragable answer

If you have RC1 there is a problem with the Windows Mobile Device Centre (so im told!) and so no sync at all apart from folder and files. If you have the first Beta release it works on sync - duno about upgrade yet though.
I'm awaiting the fix....

you can enable the WMDC in RC1...there is a thread on here:

that shows you how to enable it....mines working and sycing with Outlook 2007
ive not tried any sort of ROM action though...not willing to brick my wizard...

Damn - mine wont sync for love nor money!
I've done a hard reset - even reflashed the thing. Added the registry entry - forced WMDC.msi to install and still nothing - MWDC just crashed with a hideous error whenever i run it manually from control panel too!

I am on RC1.... build 5600

strange, thats exactly the same as me.
all i did was ad the WHOS key, reboot, download, reboot....sync!

When i run WMDC i get:

at Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DeviceManager.IForeman.StartFactory(Guid factory)

Nope he trying to install a rom on the universal using the RC1 vista build on his pc.

Windows Vista + Rombootloader not working!

ok so im running vista and when i try to use the romupdateutility it errors out. neone have a working ver of romupdate i can use?

Dont try to update ROM under Vista with old update utils!
Some people started update process under Vista but was not able to finish, therefore corrupting the ROM. Apparently a lot of update utilities are not compatible with Vista.

if vista didnt look as nice as it does i wouldnt be using it. thank god i was smart enough to dual boot!

Maybe install VMWare on Vista to host an WinXP

Or maybe not install/use vista at all what for?!? Another M$ fatware that instead of running other programs it drains all of the pc resources for itself to provide additional $$$ to M$
P.S. VMWare is a masterpiece.

I bought my phone in Romania, version XFHD1, and i would like to know if i can use the hxd editor to upgrade to win 6.1 official uk version or any english version of the windows.....
P.s. my OS is Vista and win7 so mirage updater solution is out....
P.S.2 the phoe is unlocked (it's not branded)

you can still use mirage....on windows 7. You need to download the usb drivers and install it on your comp....its quite simple! look around, you'll find it...search for usb vista drivers i780.
Of course, the other route is hex editing the original installer file you can download from samsung. The fun lies in using custom roms....so its time you get ur rig setup to use mirage!

requires just 5 mins to upgrade.
HIGHLIGHT:NO NEED OF ROM UNLOCKING TOOL.
FOLLOW THE SIMPLE PROCEDURES:
1:unrar the attached file.
2:stop all the processes or tasks in the cell.(soft reset recommended)
3:stop running programs in computer.
4pen the unrared folder.
5pen {app} folder.
6:click on DSUU program.
(before clicking DSUU program:
***connect the cell to computer via active sync 4.5 or windows mobile device center)
7:click on start update button.
8:then follow the instructions on screen.
9:the job is done.

its slim version already have.and same problems speakers cant onn.2nd cant press any button during call like for conference and card load
3rd messege problem letters cant b more then 160.u can send only single messege

a little bug i find,,speaker didn't work..
and backlight,if we change,it won't be change anymore..

I just flashed my O2 Stealth and I cant seem to be able to Synchronize my previous contacts from Microsoft Outlook when i had WM5. Any ideas? It is a nice ROM tho....

First special thanks to that person who invented this rom for xda stealth Friends I found that the phone gets hanged or they donot show contacts or I think it is not suitable for this phone

I recently found this old Qtek 9090 with Windows Mobile 2003, and I'd like to upgrade the OS to Windows Mobile 6 (in Italian) and then use it as a navigator...
I've already searched in this forum, but most of the links and downloads don't run, I suppose because this is an old matter...
I need also information about how to upgrade the rom... and I've read that I need also a "preparation pack" for WM2003 to use before upgrading, but I can't find a working link to the download.
Until now I found and downloaded this... "RC5 23698 Multi-Rom" by d-two... it is a .nbf file... but I actually don't know what to do with this file.
I apologize of having posted a new thread, I've already read a lot of posts in this forum, but the more I read, the more I get confused :S
I hope someone can help me, thanks a lot!

Yes, I'm using win 7 64 bit on my notebook, but if this is a problem I can use my old desktop with win XP sp2 32 bit! I've already downloaded your rom and also the updater!

Yes, better you use XP, if you have wm2003 on the blueangel you must only connect it on the PC, if you have WM5 or higher you mus put the blueangel into bootloader modus!

ok, sorry, I just forgot to put the .nbf file into the updater folder...
ok, upgrade successful! But now my pc doesn't recognize the device when I connect it... and I need to enter the device memory! What can I do?

It doesn't work... Windows recognizes a device called "Blue Angel" but can't find its drivers and the Windows Mobile utility of win7 doesn't recognize it...

The Update failed and now. the BlueAngel is in Bootloader mode.
Any ideas what I could do now?

same here my device is stuck now as well on the m#bootloader .cant do any thing at all after that or cant even get it out of the bootloaader. third today searching the forum any one who can help me out on that

hi i got wm 2003 ba . i connected it straight and now m stuck in bootloader any help please .searching every where for it . and i got win 8 64 bit but this happened on win 7 32 bit .

read and try to understand D-Two's how to- it is all written there.
