Do you miss knowing which letters are on which numbers, like when dialing a number from a business? Like, "Call Now! 1-800-YES-YEAH" Here's the fix for Kavana/Ricky/HTC based ROMs.
This is a mod of Surreal Networks Alpha-Numeric Display patch (grey), without the T-Mobile Branding:
Now, with correct spelling. (Hey it was late!)
download BRANDING.GIF
place in the Windows folder
browse to it with resco explorer
rename to ms_mobile.gif, confirm
May require rebooting. You are welcome to modify this, make into a .cab or desktop installer.
UPDATE April 4: Newest version, no branding, simpler install, and works on both the in-call and dialer screens here! Or jump to page three for preview.
UPDATE April 18: One Point Zero release here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2129954#post2129954
Thanks, that's great. Although, you spelled Excalibur wrong...
Thanks a ton! This is a great help!
Nice but I was wondering how the hell to get the panel AFTER you make a call to show the numbers on Kavana's 6.1. Like automated service tells you to put in your name or whatnot on the dialpad....
dialpad cab minus excalibur branding
attached is the same dialpad without the Excalibur branding.
install cab, reboot, enjoy.
thanks to Ben Hirashima for the cab

Now, I am analyzing how to make a slicker package from Ben's example.

Not sure. I will look into it. I suppose it could be added to the top of whatever image is in the "next" screen?
So it's only in one colour, and it might not match your blues, but I'll share the one I made for my phone if any of you like it.
I made one too
Windows standard colors
Here are original ones for each of the default colors and Segoe text. No Branding. Included one in grey, too!
Anyone else having a problem with the automatic alpha-num installers with a cooked ROM?
I like the one with T-mobile Branding. It makes the rom feel more official. (Extracted from the Surreal Networks CAB)

I am working on a complete suite of not T-Mobile Branding, trying to figure out the splash screens at the moment. I just cant dig the pink T; Ive tried! Been cruising the other forums for clues...
It seems that the Ben dialpad works on the in-call screen, but I cant simulate the behavior if i uninstall his cab and manually it the reg. What keys do others use to change background on the in-call screen? IT really needs some livening up anyway.

Just one key...but it has to point to a file that exists. So if you've extracted the .gif file from the .cab / make sure you drop the .gif file in the windows directory and note what the .gif filename is as thats what you're going to put in the regitry entry...also make sure you soft-reset otherwise it won't change until then.
And as far as the in call screen is concerned ... look for a file in \windows directory named cprogback_land.png for your in-call screen
Here's the one that i use: It looks good with technology's another blue color scheme .......Just rename the extention from .jpeg to .png if you want to use it

It appears that that file is hard-coded, so there is no way to mod the reg with the installer, but it looks like windows mobile's .cab-install system will back things up alright from a file replacement approach. So, a single installer for both is do-able.
Interestingly, the image I am overwriting is called Carrierlogo.gif, not cprogback_land.png. Are there two potential images retrieved for the call screen, one in the fore and one in the back? I wonder what I could do with that info...
Or, maybe it is named differently in different source roms with the same purpose. Will text that next.
boom, got it
So, I think i this is how the in-call graphics work:
It appears that the call screen does indeed call up two images (not including a contact thumb, if applicable) The background is hardwired as "cprogback_land.png". Also, instead of having the carrier text string at the top, it can have an image across the top, which is hardwired as "carrierlogo.gif". Nothing can be done, as far as I can tell, to change the pointers to other files, so overwrites are the only method of changing.
If the graphic is put inside the background image itself, it can be the full width of the screen, like any background, and likewise any height (up to 213) But the in-call screen is a bit busy. The top 24 pixels (after the window top) are reserved for the carrier branding text string (or image), followed by 2 blank rows of pixels and a horizontal rule at row 27. The next 88 pixels (the middle area is a call status area followed by another rule at row 116, and pressed digits fill the bottom area.
However, if the graphic (.gif only) is in the foreground, it can be any size and proportion, but if it is taller than 24 pixels, or wider than 311 pixels, it will be (UPDATED) scooted over four pixels and cropped to fit a box of those dimensions at the top. If it is smaller, it will be top-, then left-aligned. Either way, if it is there, it replaces the carrier text string, rather than having to be designed around it. One thing to keep in mind, if using this method is that it has to be 10 pixels narrower than the image that might be used on the dialer screen, or it will "shrink" when you switch screens, if you want them to "match".
If anything is unclear, or anyone has any details to add, or corrections to make, please let me know! Thanks

One could be made by renaming any wallpaper that would work on the home screen.
I am working on a png one that blends seamlessly with a floating .gif dialpad right now. Must test it out tho'
Here is a trio of images to bring a consistent and mellow dialpad feature to BOTH the dial and incall screens.

Hey Guys,
Dunno about you, but I've installed the T-mobile NL latest ROM - but - and a big BUT -
Who designed that dialer skin!?
Attached are 2 nice backgrounds I made (landscape and portrait), and a Carrierlogo for Orange Israel which looks really great.
Replace all 3 files in the windows directory.
Note: If you get problems with write access, try with "Total Commander" it seemed to work perfectly!
Btw, for nice buttons, elsewhere on these forums is ablackqsilver skin for the universal.. didn't have energy to design the buttons...
From what I understand, the nice dialler skins won't work on our Universals, so I guess we'll make our own
If anyone else has some nice ones - Share!

Very nice.
hey do you have anything for atom like this carrier logo and splash screens.
Thanks
I'll be buggered if I can overwrite or delete the carrier gif file, I want to overwrite the 2 DLL's that contain the pink video buttn as well.....
Ayone go any ideas? tried in flight mode and with resco and total commander.
Cheers
To change the button graphics
To change the buttons I first installedthe black/silver universal phone skin. It redirects the registry phone buttons to its graphics, and they are replaceable.
Works great for me and got rid of the pink buttons...
Well people who designed the T-Mobile dialer skin are Either colorblind or complete Arses....
I understand that you guys were able to get rid of it? to get back the original HTC Blue and green buttons ??
Can you please tell us all how to do it ??
The only way I can see to get rid of it 'completely' without loosing the Video button is to replace the 2 DLL's that contain the video button resources.
Unfortunately they are in ROM so it would have to be a cook of a new ROM.
I was thinking about giving it a go, but to be honest, just cannot be rsed, I'll leave it be until either HTC make the dialer completely skinnable to the end user or a new HTC (iMate/QTek) rom that is newer than the T-Mobile one is released.
I also don't like the other mods that TM do (to the start menu etc), but I've got rid of those, and everything else about the latest NL Tmobile WWE ROM rules, def the best one I've used yet.
So I'll live with the garish pink dialer for now...... unfortunately
Thanx for the info.
I am myself on the DOPOD ROM and am very happy (I do not have a stereo headset so the A2DP is not important
Hello all. I never saw these posts before so I never knew how to change the dialer skins until I found the registry tweaks in the wiki area. I've attached a zip file of all the buttons on T-Mobile. I haven't really changed them. Just made the buttons rounder! ... Not much difference but it does look better. The only problem was that I couldn't change the Video button for some reason. I changed the background and the buttons by copying the files to the mda, either the extended ROM, the sd card (which could coz a problem if you remove it) or the mda's internal memory and then in the registry just change the location of the files. All the buttons are named the same as the original. This way you won't really have any problems and you can revert to the originals by just renaming the registry settings back to the "\Windows\" directory. The registry keys are in: "HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin" ... the "Dialer" directory holds all the buttons and background for when the dialer buttons are on the screen. The "Progress" directory holds the buttons and background for when you're in a call and the dial buttons are not visible. The keys that you have to edit are the bmp... entries. The default string is "\Windows\...bmp" just change them to wherever they are, like "\Storage Card\DialerSkin\...bmp", etc.
The only think I couldn't change was the Video buttons and the Operator logo. If the background you put up is not white or a lighter colour the logo looks retarded. I tried looking for the file "erlogo" but i didn't find it. However I did find a file called "Carrierlogo" in the Windows directory. I'm thinking of backing it up and then blanking it out. Don't really care about the logo. Anyways, I've added a zip file of the buttons I edited. I've also put up screenshots. You can change the buttons to whatever you want if you can design one. I tried looking for one but seems like no one is really making them for the MDA Pro's as the MDA Vario's and the like are more common. Anyways, hope I can get some help with the Video buttons and maybe some nice backgrounds for the dialer?!

Well if you want to get the default blue Windows Mobile dialer then just go to the Registry to: "HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin" and the entry for Enabled change it to "0" to disable the operator dialer or then "1" to enable it. If you disable it and reboot the MDA you'll see the original blue dialskin but you miss out on the video button. so no video calls can be made also the Smart Dial feature will not work if the blue dialer is used. I don't know why so don't ask! ... Hope this helps?!

Thanx I am aware of that HACK, but then you as you quite correctly mention loose the video call and the smart dialer.

About the buttons I meant you could take the originals and colour them different, instead of have the buttons curved like I posted previously you could have them a different shape, etc. I currently have my modified buttons and pics on the ExtendedROM which pretty much is a part of the inbuilt memory and so far it's working fine. I haven't noticed any slowness or sluggish behaviour. I'll try make some different buttons and post them up. ... Should be fun but time consuming. ... If you've seen the skins for the MDA Vario using the ETen Dialer, those are really sexy but that means one has to sit and make them for the MDA Pro. I'll try it out and post what I can get.

Well the buttons I modified were for the T-Mobile skin so I don't know what happens with the QTek as I've never seen the skin so try at your own expense. Mine is working great. Just changed the links to the locations. I noticed when I flashed the i-mate rom, the dialer was completely different. If you're going to flash your PDA with the T-Mobile ROM then you should try it out. Though I have never replaced the original files coz then if anything goes wrong I have to reflash so be careful. My archive is only missing the background pics which are named as "Bkgnd_land" and "Bkgnd_port" in the same Windows directory. I've posted the backgrounds as well but you can put anything you want as long as it's the right resolution. The one I use is always 640x480. However, I strongly advise you to copy these files in another folder on the PDA and not replace the originals. I placed mine in a folder in the ExtendedROM. I originally figured out this hack from the wiki page:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry
Check it out. There's allot of nice hacks there.[/url]
Hi guys, I was messing around with the dialer buttons and if you take the bmp's that are in the zip file (or if you copy the ones that are in the Windows directories) and open them in paint (or the like) and colour the buttons "NmBtnUp_..." fully black and then in the registry only edit the "bmpNormal" under "dialbutton" to the black ones then after the reboot, your dialer buttons are invisible. Only thing you see are the numbers and alphabets. Pretty kool! ... I only did it for the "dialbutton" folders not the rest as in the erase, talk/end, or the verbbutton. Quite an interesting effect for the dialer depending on your background or your choice. Just thought I'd share. I also changed the really nice green backgrounds by "summoner" into dark grey (I hope you don't mind) and I've posted screenshots of them up. K! Thought I'd share my interesting discovery.

I managed to overwrite the carrierlogo.gif file from the explorer built in with "Pocket Controller - Professional" that I bought. It's a nice program. Little sluggish sometimes but i can use the MDA from the pc without touching it. By the way, what are you going to overwrite the 2 dll's with? Have you found a way to modify the video button?

Well if you exctract the cab and change the extentions to .bmp you get the buttons.... The nicest one I think is the O2 one
Hello all,
You may have seen my earlier thread with the modified color clock digits for the HTC Home Plugin. Well, I just can't leave well enough alone! This started off as JUVS color version of the Kaiser Home Plugin. I took some of the icons from JUVS version and some from Schaps. Then I made the 'unselected' ones dark and lit up the selected one with a bright spotlight. I also changed the house colors a bit and turned it to face the other side. Just didn't seem right with a blue roof . I like it better now and I hope you do too, see screenshots attached.
To install:
First install JUVS Kaiser Home Plugin, color version, see the CAB file later in this thread. Then go in and make sure the plugin is unchecked in Settings, Today, Items. Make a backup of the HH_FW*.* and HH_HOME*.* files in your Windows folder for safe keeping. Then copy the contents of the ZIP file attached to the Windows folder on your device (not the zip itself, extract the contents) replacing the same-named files. Reselect the plugin and take it for a spin. Love it? Good! Hate it? Restore the original set of icons and associated files or reinstall.
By the way, the colored clock digits I made for the original HTC plugin work perfectly here too. Copy them over the same way if you like. You can find them in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314510
And, that reminds me, I figured out the bezel issue affecting some of the icons in the files I put out for the original HTC Home Plugin. For those who were bugged by that issue I am attaching a bezel fix ZIP file that will correct the issue and leave a nice transparent icon background in keeping with the them of that set of files. You could use this fix on this Kaiser version as well and it will remove the spotlight from the selected item without affecting the colors and brightness/darkness differentiating selected and unselected. You just have to see it to see if you like it.
Is this for Hermes or Kaiser? This is posted in the Hermes WM6 forum.
Yes!
This applies for both actually, but I'm using it on a HERMES, running the Kaiser HTC Home Plugin. See the 5 tabs instead of 3? If you want it, look for JUVS version in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107
gmgonzal, great work again! Thanks!!!
i'm trying to copy over the files in vista but i can't seem to... do i need to do this via the phone?
nevermind, stupid vista won't let you extract from an explorer view of a zip file
so the spotlight for each tab seems to show the old black/white icon when it is selected... going to try to recopy the files again.
That's because...

This is meant as a mod for the JUVS color version of the Kaiser Home Plugin. It brings the color icons that you are missing. You should install that first, then copy these icons over. I'm including the CAB file here in case others need it also...
do you know if this has the fixes included in the version posted on pg 6 of the original thread? thanks!

This is great, thanks! Removing the bevel was part of the things I wnated to change about this plugin. What I would really love to be able to do now is completely remove the useless highlight that appears over the icons when they are selected - is this possible?
edit: just to be clear from the post above ... the highlight I mean is not contained in the images, I mean the OS highlight that appears over the images themselves when selected.
Also, for me personally, it would be great to be able to change the colour of the font used - if I change the colour of the clock images, then the font stay white which looks inconsistent to my fussy brain!
Thanks for any help with the highlight thing though.

That highlight pi$$es me off too, what I always wanted to do was have the icons in greyscale and then make them bright color when selected, with no highlight around them. But that highlight seems to be built into the code. As far as the text color, Zoharbl said in my previous thread that you can change the text color for each Today screen item with a program called Today Agenda, but I haven't tried it to see if it works on the text on the top of the HTC Plugin. I thought this would be an interesting customization as well maybe some of the more technically inclined members here could give us some insight.
I have already posted on this site how to change your background. Just use the search button at the top of your page on the right side.
Any other questions, just pm me. It's easier than going through this forum's threads, plus it keep these threads not so clogged with repeated questions.
Have Fun.
How can i change the color of in-call screen??
Also, is it possible to change the call-in font color? For whatever reason, it's black and all my other fonts are white, makes it hard to read. I'd like to keep the background as is. But I guess I could change the background image to something lighter so the black font will show up, but I searched around and I don't know how to do that either in Ricky's.
I too have this issue with the black font on the incoming call screen very hard to read. All my other font colors are white except the inoming call screnn. I posted in the alphanuma thread asking how to change it but have not gotten an answer. Hopefully someone will help us resolve this soon.
This color is located in your xml. It is the homehighlitetext and hometext colors
If you want to change these it will apply throughout your entire phone. It will do what you are talking about, but beware these will affect the entire phone, and this IS the only way. Worked with it long enough to know.

This can't be the case because I look at the theme xml file and the homehighlitetext and hometext are set to #ffffff and all the text on my phone is white except the incoming call text is black and no where in the xml file do I see font set to #000000 for black Im using alphanuma wonder if it has something to do with that but its odd because when I make an outgoing phone call the text is white just not the incoming very strange.

But do we want nice large photoes and album covers on our home screen? Do we want my fave loading with Flash-like slowness? Some yes, some, not so much...
There is a *load of possibilty in this .1 release, beyond what we've seen so far. SmartPhone Cube? Excalibur-exclusive UI functionality exploiting the unique hardware I assume is only days away, if everyone is as rapid-fire as you, Rick.

The interface on the Juno... which is what you're seeing that in video... IS Chome. It's even the same CLSID on the home screen's .xml... the same GUID's... etc I'm thinking the .dll's are different to make it "special" for the TMobile Shadow (the HTC Juno).
I thought it was just a matter of formatting, like changing the .cpr file or something. I don't think it is so though... as I've searched the file system on a TMobile Shadow phone and couldnt find any .cpr files whatsoever...
All CHome interface in bronze.dll (i think so...)

PE is much friendlier! Thanks for the tip!
When I replace the images, the file is nearly 4x larger. When I replace bronzeres on the phone it kills Chome-based screens. Is there something I have to do to force a file-size match, or sign it, or something?

When I replace the images, the file is nearly 4x larger. When I replace bronzeres on the phone it kills Chome-based screens. Is there something I have to do to force a file-size match, or sign it, or something?

unsign the dll first then once done resign
i think it would be real neat to have a shadow interface on the dash it would make the excaliburs unique and for people in the barbershop with the same phone as me can envy lol
It works, it works! And boy, does this quick test version look like crap--- but it works, so I think I will try again, but with feeling now. Woo hoo hoo...
So, how shall we get this working on the same phone with an existing bronzesres.dll? I notice that thehome.xml calls only 2 plugins, iconbar and "Bronze". Anyone know how to dupe Bronze, and have it call the new dll?
Off to Google I go...
Ok, it's closer, and much stronger than the first experiment. In fact, the black is too strong. Back to the 'shop to tweak it again...
UPDATE: Closer still... (#6 & #7)
Got it
Ok, here it is, a nice, dark, but not too dark Sliding Panel set. At this point, it will REPLACE your regular sliding panel's soft translucent white bubble look.
Although a simple script to unload any current Chome-based homescreen and swap the dll's is probably trivial for someone to write (hint, hint), it is not for me.
Directions:
Be running WM6.1, and have Sliding Panel (Chome) working.
Switch to any homescreen that does not use Sliding Panel.
Backup your existing bronzeres.dll
Overwrite with the BrightNight version.
Load a Sliding Panel style homescreen. For best results, use black text and a bright and light background, or a medium text and a dark background for a low output "night mode". Hence the name.
CAUTION: This .dll is experimental. Use at your own risk. Look both ways when crossing the street. Floss. For those of you who didnt follow directions, the original bronzeres.dll is available earlier in this thread. It is in use and cannot be overwritten while chome is running.
UPDATE: Added some bright wallpapers, since they are hard to find around here. © someone else. If you need directions on what to do with them, just skip this whole topic.
That's tight! Maybe we can "join efforts" and make the top of the rectangle darker also, like I did in a previous thread around here. Oh... what do I do with those backgrounds ?!
send me the pic. I was toying around with making a whole new image, if I ever get a day off, too.
With honor to the_ape for finding the registry key HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMenus
This allows you to modify the menu size and skin the images of the HTCMenus, as found on the new V3 TF3D, like the one in all the latest ROM's with Topaz stuff in it. See the screen prints if you are unsure what I am talking about. You need these newer menus already installed, if you not not have them yet, these settings will not install them for you.
Remark 1: Oddly though it changes the menu size for all programs, except TF3D itself....[elim]
Remark 2: Problems with menu's drawn from the top (slow with floodfill error) are solved. So it should now work with Resco, wktask, SC3. The error may still appear if you are in landscape, the menu is drawn from top and has 6 or less items. To solve that too, also restore the included bitmap to the windows directory.
The bitmaps are hardly changed (I colored 6 very critically placed pixels), but I did re-encode as monocrome & 8-bit, so the first load of the first menu should be marginally faster.
For full skinning, read post 24. But if you just want to make the menus smaller, the attached registry file will allow to fit 11 in stead of 8 menu items on a screen by reducing the tile hight from 72 to 60. To restore to the original, import the HTCMenuNormal file.
The total allowable 'Navi' + 'Item' heigth is 696 in portrait and 376 in Landscape.
Original portrait values are 72+46 which at 8 items means (46+8*72+46)=668
Original landscape values are 72+46 which at 3 items means (46+3*72+46)=308
Not only too large, but non-optimal use of space, especially in Landscape.
I use portrait values 60+18 which at 11 items is (18+11*60+18)=696 Exact!
and landscape values 57+17 which at 6 items is (17+6*57+17)=376 Exact!
So I believe these values are ideal in efficiency, large enough to select and drag, but quite a bit more menu selections (double in landscape!!). The 'Navi' is too small for the finger, but you are supposed to drag the entire menu. And they do still visualise the fact there are more menu options. Below zip file holds now these values.
Or do it manually:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCMenus]
"ItemHL"="0,[B]79[/B],0,[B]6[/B]"
"ItemHW"="440,[B]60[/B],640,[B]57[/B]"
"ItemTile"="10,[B]60[/B],[B]152[/B],0,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99,110,121,132,143,154,165"
"NaviHW"="440,[B]17[/B],640,[B]17[/B]"
"NaviTile"="10,[B]17[/B],[B]162[/B],200,211,222,233,244,255,266,277,288,299,310,321,332,343"
"NaviIcon"="20,[B]17[/B],[B]162[/B],354,375,396,417"
I was hoping also to find a registry setting to speed up the animation (sliding, appearing from bottom) but that I did not find yet.
Below files are registry files. You can import them using your favorite registry editor. Don't forget to also copy the bitmaps to the windows directory, To uninstall/reset, import the 'Normal' registry file, which is the values as I first found them on my Dutty's 1.8 EXTREME. The bitmaps you can leave (it does not matter) or delete (the old ROM version will re-appear)
NOTICE: Even newer TF3D (Dutty 2.2, but possibly also other recent ROMS) have slightly different settings. Co0kieMonster worked it all out nicely here, so best not use the outdated files in this thread anymore, unless if you have a really old version of Manilla.
This is a cool idea, as those menus took up the whole screen sometimes. Got any screen-shotties?
Good tips. Thank you very much.
Helps if you could give some instruction on how to use the files.
I tried changing the reg vaules (all the "item" values). It does change it smaller, but causes havoc in my Resco File explorer. When pressing the favourite button, the device freezes with no drop down menu displayed at all. I then press the menu at the bottom right, and the entire screen went hair wired for a while.

There just registry files. Just import them. 'Normal' to go back to original, 'Small' to use my 10-menuline settings.
If you have .fred task manager (fdcTaskMgr) you may first have to associate .reg files so you can import. On Dutty's 1.8, this is already done. I think your resco also has a registry editor and can also import.
Or you just manually read the registry files and edit using your Resco registry editor

Odd. Are the menus OK in other programs? You should soft-reset between changes. Can you revert to 'normal' by importing that file and is the problem gone again?
There is a problem with the selection (see screenshot #1). I test a little bit and when I let ItemHL on the values "0,73,0,0" it works better (see #2).
I attach the changed registry file.
Update: The problem is now that this doesn't work in manila?! All other menus are smaller but in manila the entries are normal (#3).

I had that once too, but it went away with the next reset. So I still have the ItemHL set to 58, but the select bar looks OK. So though I do not understand ItemHL, I think it may not be the cause of what you saw.
Edit: You are correct, the ItemHL needs to stay at 73, that value probably is not related to the 72 of ItemHW

Hey, you are right. (I only use Manilla when I show of the phone, and use classic today normally) Maybe manilla uses hardcoded settings? Or some other registry settings?

The problem of hair wired display is observed in Resco file explorer when you click on the favourite (Star) icon at the top right side. The device is momentarily frozen but return back with a blinking blackist menu.
If I import in the normal registry item, this problem is gone.
Okay - I LIKE the HTC menus on touchflo apps and would like to have this style menu in ALL programs (much like in Duttys rom) such as mail, calendar etc.. How can I make this happen?
But, it works only in Manila or also in all others programs (like Resco Explorer, ecc...)?
Thanks.

It only works in other Applications. In Manila it doesn't change anything (for me). But that's okay because only in other applications the menus are to big.

Well, I'll see if I can get a copy of Resco and try if I can confirm. But if it is like you say, I am not sure if there is anything we can do about it. There is no programming or anything, just the menu size. If Resco is allergic to that, we may simply have to accept that.

This *does not install* any large menu program. You must already have the large menus installed, they come with the new TF3D. And you probably do not have that, otherwise you would not have asked. If you do not have them yet, these settings will not do anything for you.
But yes, once you have HTC Menus installed, they work in *all* programs that use the template Windows Mobile menu system. (I suspect HTC replaces the template menu driver or something)
PS: do not mistake "HTC Menu" with "LargeStartMenu", also by HTC. The latter has been around for a while, even as cab, but the menu replacement is rather new, and not extracted (yet)
Cheers for taking it further, I'd had a play with the size values (not long enough), and not got what I wanted.
You have to remember the defaults are probably set for the pro2 with a smaller physical screen, hence the big'nes on the HD.
Font's are dependent on the font family you use I've found.
Looks like the small font mess up wktask too, rending it impossible to terminate/close task, or go to the action menu. Restoring it to normal font cures the problem.
Great!

HTC Menu CAB installation?

Ok, I understood thanks.
It is possible to obtain the CAB for this application?
I Use Finger Menu, but does not satisfy me to 100%, I prefer an application developed directly from HTC...
Still thanks.

I do not think anyone extracted it into a cab yet.
And I never done anything like that. It probably means finding out all the interdependencies between files, extracting said files, extracting the service settings, and building a cab. Interesting, I am willing to try when I have the time, but don't hold your breath, it may take a while.....
Really it is a very big work!
Fortunately I am a patient person...
