Is it me or a lot of people are absolutely clueless that it is rude to quote an entire post (possibly with pictures) consisting from hundreds of lines of text and reply with a smile or a few words? Shouldn't this be against the rules? It is on other forums.
This makes some topics completely unreadable.

My pet hate is the post that says "trying it now". Can't they wait a short while and post once they have tried it?? However, unless the member is a serial offender, I would not be making a big deal about it.

Whilst I do occasionally say "Trying it now" I then update that post after I have tested whatever it is... My personal hate regarding this is the "It looks nice" type statement when the person isn't even going to bother trying it! Especially when they quote a ridiculous string of text!!!
Would it be possible to alter the way quotes behave such that they do not include images? Quotes currently do not include quotes (you can't quote a quote) so could this be done with the

Well... It's an annoyance, and pages load quite slowly when someones quoted a lot of images...
I wouldn't say it's common...but when a reply happens (like to the 1st post of a cooks new rom with 15 screen pics), then it's a real pain!

Hello,
what do you think about a re-order of the devices in the forenlist? the newer htc devices are all at the end of the list and we have to scroll a lot? Maybe ist is possible to reorder it to the top of the list?

I agree...better yet have user be able to decide which phones/devices appear when they are logged on.
This has been asked several times before...
First devies goes up and newer goes down, imagine changing the way it has been for years!
No way!, I like it just like it is now
Just my opinion,
While most people think reordering is a good idea. However I'm used to where everything is so please don't move it or you'll make me mad, along with a lot of other "ole timers."
This has been posted before.
And believe me guys...you don´t want to see JimmyMcGee or any other "ole timer" mad

If you really want the page re-ordered (and you use Firefox), you can hide the stuff you don't want with a plug-in called GreaseMonkey. It does take a small amount of scripting on your part- but, hey, why should the admins do all the work?
Greasemonkey basically runs scripts on pages as they load, which makes it possible to customize the way you see (and interact) with other people's websites.
If you're too lazy to do that, CTRL+F will save you a bit of scrolling.
I personally have a problem with these posts. Why not put up an add on XDA so you guys earn some money too with his adds to cover some costs of this great FREE forum

There is an Significant Injustice happening in this forum.
The flag of Cocos (Keeling) Islands, recognized with it's own ISO 3166-1 country code, is being misrepresented here with an Australian flag instead of it's own:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That is an untrue, treacherous, traitorous, deceitful, dishonest, duplicitous, untruthful, and false representation.
I trust that the Administration of this Forum will take corrective action to fix this high treason against the Cocos Islands.
Imagine one day the flag of Ukraine here turns into flag of Russia?
Or flag of Palestine turns into flag of Israel?
Thats how it must feel for the residents of Cocos Island.
Can you elaborate? The wiki flag is the same as you've posted? As it may fall under our no political talk rule, reporting anything in question is the right way to handle anything you find objectionable.
If you could report any thread /post you are referring to, we can look at it.
Otherwise more information... Cause honestly, I have no idea what you find objectionable on the site.
Thanks,

Actually, if you are referring to the flags that can be shown under members names, then here is where to point that out to our Admin staff,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976627
I can assure you no treason was intended, it's surely an oversight, or misunderstanding.
You can let admin know where I suggested and I'm sure it can be easily addressed. :good:
You mean this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=650541
I am new to the xda community. I figured out, that i always have to enter the captcha two times. Its not the captcha itself that fails. When you complete the captcha and have the green check-sign and then press the submit button, i always get the first time "The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed.". When i then complete the captcha a second time (have the second time the green check sign), then this issue is not there any more.
My cookies are clean. This happens also when you dont logout in the meantime and try to post a reply to two different forum posts. The issue is just always there.
From the site admin perspective it looks like there was a different captcha system before. Then the google captcha got build into the website and now it tries to read out data first time from something that does not exist any more.
EDIT: I did not have to enter the captcha two times when creating a new post(this one here). But i always have to enter it two times when i reply to a thread.
I recommend to use XEvil to solve most captchas — http://xevil.net/

THIS. How do I stop this? I've scanned my network, and installed the "Privacy Pass" addon and I'm STILL getting this stupid message.

There are some threads about this.
XDA is under constant attack from spammers and the like.
I believe this happens more often if you are editing long posts, try to avoid doing that.
XDA is moving to a different forum platform, soon like in a few days.
Some security measures may be relaxed after the change.

@GuyInDogSuit I know it doesn't help or will satisfy you but even I as a moderator occasionally get the captchas pending on my action. @sd_shadow explained the reasons well. And I apologise but I can't tell you how it will look like after the transition to Xenforo.
Yeah this usually happens when we try to edit very long posts. In the meantime of the transition to XenForo, a workaround to avoid captcha is to split long posts in 2 shorter posts, like explained here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/labs-t3241866/post83621087
