i have a question to the different Memory Locations on the Artemis...
There is
- Storage Memory
- Program Memory
- Storage Card Memory...
What is the difference??
If i choose to install a app on the Device (not on the memory card), will this eat space on the "Program Memory"??
Which Memory Part has effects on the speed of the device??
Does installing Programs to the device directly effect the speed of the device??
Storage Memory is the space available on the phone's internal storage to store applications and data.
Program Memory is the RAM available to run additional programs.
Storae Card Memory is the amount of total space/free space on your MicroSD card.
I realised that Galaxy W got 3 layers of memory which is phone storage, USB storage and ext sd card, and I found out that most of the apps are saved in internal storage (USB storage), but it has very limited spaces, so I would like to move all the apps to my ext sd card.
Anyone can guide me that how to do so???
Flash the ROMs here

There are 3 storage options on this phone...
ROM aka Device Memory = 1GB = Where apps install to.
Internal SD aka USB Storage = 2GB = Extra space
External SD aka SD Card = upto 32gb microSD card.
So you dont need to use an external SD card until you've used up nearly 3gb of space!
Have you used 3GB already?

There is no installation of apps on the so-called USB Storage/Internal Storage......This is intended for data associated with apps, and storage for stuff like pics/photos/music.
There is built-in App2SD support in all Androids since Froyo, but it is not automatically invoked....you need to go to Settings/Manage Applications.
Look under Downloaded, where all the d/l Apps are listed, and tap on any app you wish to install on your SD Card, your external SD card, this is not internal so-called SD/USB Storage.
Any App that can be moved, will have a Move to SD card option.....those which are not written to enable movement, will be greyed out.
You could also get App2SD from market, which will give you a notification when an App is downloaded that it can be moved, and allows you to do this when you select the notification. It works well......IMHO. I use it and cannot fault it.
There is also another App 2 SD, which does a similar job, but has a Pro paid-for version......reports on Market that it does not support External SD, which is what we have, so avoid....IMHO
Right so still abit confused over this. Before i installed Kerza'a rom onto the phone.
Under the settings and storage and where is shows sd card, usb storage and Device memory.
On sd card it use to show my 8gb card and in the usb storage it use to show the 1.7gb that came on the phone.
After i installed kerza's rom it switched. But no matter what i do my apps still save to the smaller 1.7gb space.
Is there anything that can be done?
This means that KP's ROM switches mount points for SD's, and your Large SD Card is now considered as Internal SD.......
and no Apps can be moved to Internal, by Samsung design, they move to external SD.
arco says this will change with ICS, when and if we get it......
On the good side, your apps are now on probably faster Internal Storage (now mapped as External SD)......and you have more than enough to cater for apps IMHO. And you can probably force move other apps, maybe with Titanium Backup, or other ways, just be careful, some Apps should not be moved, so trial and error.
Even when I used DT's A2SD, on my previous, the biggest sd-sxt I used was 1GB.
Am asking all the Reputable devs/ "Knowledgeable" Personel this same question..I have the 16GB GNII and I am wandering what the best method is when it comes to Internal vs External storing of apps and roms. When I D/L a rom, is it better to have it stored in the Internal memory or External memory (to conserve space) prior to installation? Also regarding apps that save data, does it matter to have it in Internal/External memory. Backups are also another concern of mine. Should they be store in Internal/External Memory. Again, I am trying to conserve space but I don't want to jeopardize performance.
By default everything is installed into the internal memory. Some apps, like the camera will ask you if you want to have the ext memory as the storage but that is the exception.
What you store on the internal storage will not impact the speed of your device but will take up space and limit what else you can put on the "16GB" internal storage
There are scripts that will swap the internal memory with the external memory thus increasing the amount of apps (and media files) you can put on your device. This swap will cause a slight delay in the function of the phone but may not be noticeable.
There is an app called Binder which does allow more of the data from the apps to be placed on to the ext memory but I have not used it and can not comment on how well it works.
As to where to store ROMS you download for install, either location is good as TWRP allows you to flash from either.
Hope this helps a little.

"Insufficient storage" error, while moving apps in Android Marshmallow 6.0 Version.
Hi,
I have a Micromax Canvas Android ONE mobile phone with a 4 GB internal storage memory and 16 GB SD card external memory.
Out of 4 GB internal memory, 1.77 GB is occupied with system files, 1.86 GB is occupied with non system apps, 0.35 GB is occupied with apps related data and only 0.02 GB is free.
I have latest Android Marshmallow operating system updated on my phone, as I am typing this text.
There are following applications installed in my handset (from Google play store), which have an option to move them from internal storage memory to external SD card memory and vice versa.
1) Amazon Kindle (166 MB)
2) LinkedIn (78.22 MB)
3) Facebook (16.96 MB) moved
4) OlaCabs (3.40 MB) moved
5) I can't wake up (0.98 MB)
Out of above 5 apps, when I tried to move all of 5 apps, only app number 3 & 4 got transferred (or moved) to the external SD card memory space. i.e. for Facebook and OlaCabs, moving from internal to external memory card was successful.
However for rest of apps (Amazon Kindle, LinkedIn and I can't wake up), I get an error stating that there is not enough of memory space in external memory card.
However, as I can see out of total memory of 16 GB in external SD memory card, 1.17 GB is consumed by system files, 5.51 GB is consumed by existing data and apps and 9.32 GB is free space available to consume.
May I know what exactly must have been happening over here and why?
What is the possible solution to resolve this issue?
Hi.
My wife has already in use the Nokia 5.1 for a while. At that time we have also used a 64GB SD card and formatted it as internal memory. Thus, just under 80GB should be available as one drive.
However, the additional memory of the SD card is obviously not used, because although almost 60 GB continue to be free, the mobile phone complains about missing memory if you want to make photos or install apps.
The attempt to format the SD card as external memory brought no improvement, especially as apps like the camera can not access it then.
What do you have to do so that the storage space of the SD card is attached to the internal memory and is used by the mobile phone?
Thanks in advance.
