Keyboard help QTEK S200 + Stowaway IR Keyboard - General Accessories

Installing from CD or from onine driver I get identical results. Working with Windows Mobile 5.
The PC shows this message:
Could not delete registry: SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\{FD32EBD5-A526-44C0-8464-5BC3F4136F60}\\WceIniFiles\\Install
while at the same time the PDA shows: Keyboard installed and ready to use.
Then after a PDA restart (automatic) I get this:
Keyboard Driver Error! The Keyboard driver StowawayXT.dll is not responding. Please reinstall.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times!!!
Then when I go into "Program Files" and press the Keyboard icon, I get this:
The Keyboard language file StowawayXTRes.dll has not been loaded on the system. Please use the correct installation process.
I can select the Stowaway as text input but nothing happens when I press keys.
I don't know anything about programming. I just hope to run the installation and everything works... so I'm in big trouble now!!! Anyone have a clue?

Hi I have the same problem with the Serial keyboard did you manage to resolve your problem?

sofware for xda keyboard

I bought the expandable/foldable xda keyboard from o2 for my xda, but my phone crashed and I lost the cd a few months ago. I don't have any documents that would tell me about the makers website so I have no idea about what to do. Does anyone know where you can download the installation software
Here you are
Dear you is what you need to install to make it work. Note that you should DISABLE the "recieve all incoming beam" option in the setting to aviod possible port conflict when using the foldable keyboard.
HTH
How do you install this CAB file?
Ken,
I finally got a G7B0 folding keyboard for my SX56 (XDA). I lacked the CD, so I downloaded the driver from the Darfon site that was labeled G7B0. I installed it and it turned up on the list of Programs on the phone, but nothing happens when I put it on the keyboard. And when I click on the lower right corner, I get the usual list of choices (letter recognizer, on-screen keyboard, etc) but no mention of the folding keyboard. It does appear in "Remove Programs" as being in memory, though.
I downloaded the CAB file you attached (thank you) and clicked on it; au unzip program appeared and extracted seven files, ending in .001, .002, etc.
Now what? I can transfer these into the phone, but in which directory? And how do I get the phone to recognize and use these?
Dan
Dear Boston,
The file I attached here is already in .CAB format, You need not extract the file, just copy it to whatever location you prefer on your device (XDA) and then double click on it for self-installation.
Once the installation is complete, the keyboard icon should appear in the program menu and not in the "input method panel" in the lower right corner.
Once it's complete, activate the program, and in the window of setting, select "Keyboard" (not Infrared and serial). And as I mentioned, to aviod possible port conflicts, UNselect the "recieve all incoming beam" in the setting window.
HTH
Ken
Thanks
Jusy a note to say thank you to those who post replies to those of us who need to be spoon-fed when we hit problems, and to the site for archiving these replies.
Special thanks to Ken, I have just successfully installed the driver for a keyboard given to me by a friend.
Regards,
Dave

See here maybe help http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Technical
I did the upgrade from Jasjar WWE to Dopod CHT. Here is how I did it:
1. Connect JJ to ActiveSync thru USB and wait till the sync session is completed.
2. While the sync is still active, I ran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. After a few steps of checking, it will disconnect ActiveSync and put the JJ into the bootloader mode.
3. The upgrade will halt with a country code error. No upgrade has been performed yet.
4. Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again while the cable is still connected and JJ still in bootloader mode. I was prompted that I am upgrading from [Blank] to [NewVersionNumber]. Click "Next".
5. The ROM will be upgraded this time till it's done. It took about 20 minutes.
6. I pressed both softkeys and reset. When the reset prompt comes up, I pressed "0" to reset to default factory settings. After some booting time, JJ starts to speak Chinese.
I upgraded to Chinese ROM because the Chinese plug-in I used to use for English ROM is kind of buggy on WM5. Thanks to everyone on this forum.
There are a few things I did after I upgraded to CHT ROM:
1. Changed the system font to the more artistic Kai font (from KAIU.ttf on a Windows machine). The original system font was MingLiU, which looked kind of scrawny on a VGA screen.
2. Re-enabled ClearType for the system and PIE. For some reason, Dopod disabled ClearType settings so the user cannot turn on ClearType from the user interface. I used a registry editor and modified a few keys to get the ClearType feature back.
With the Kai font and ClearType, the screen becomes a lot more readable and very pretty! If someone is interested in step-by-step instructions, let me know, and I will post them.
By the way, I was so excited when I discovered the im.tv site actually works for me in USA. I was able to watch the TV news in Taiwan in full VGA screen.
One difference I noticed is that with the WWE ROM, I can very easily set up Bluetooth ActiveSync. With the CHT ROM, the device can only discover the serial port service on my computer, but not recognize its ActiveSync capability. If someone knows how to correct this, please let me know.
Also, in case you don't know, the keyboard mappings between WWE and CHT ROMs are slightly different. The SYM key is swapped with the ";" character, probably because SYM is hardly used in Chinese input. The shortcut "FN + ;" can toggle the English and Bomopofo modes. Note the ";" character is now on the SYM key of JASJAR.

Hi yyl :
Can you tell me how to change system front to Kai ?
Thanks
1. Copy KAIU.ttf from a Windows machine. Paste it into the Pocket PC's "Windows" directory thru ActiveSync.
2. Using a registry editor (like PHM RegEdit), BACK UP your registry first! Then go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink\". Change the data of "Courier New" and "Tahoma" keys to "\windows\KAIU.ttf,DFKai-SB".
3. Soft-reset your device. Now all the Chinese characters become Kai font. It is not very smooth, because ClearType is still disabled.
4. To enable ClearType, this is how I did it. Maybe some steps are not really necessary.
5. Using the same registry editor, search for the keyword "cleartype" in all the keys and values. I found three matches. I set ClearType=1, NoClearType=0, ClearTypeText=1 respectively.
6. Soft-reset your device. You will see that the system ClearType is still disabled. Go to "Settings -> System -> Screen -> ClearType" to enable ClearType. This option was originally hidden from end users. Now it's visible. Once you check the "Enable ClearType" box, the font will immediately smooth up.
That's it. One thing worthy of note is, KAIU.ttf seems to only have traditional Chinese characters, not simplied Chinese. I am not sure.
Thanks yyl , I will try it today

Can you upload KAIU.ttf which I can't find in my window machine, Are you used Chiese window system ? mine was English + language pack
The KAIU.ttf comes with many versions of Microsoft Office of many languages. When the Asian character support is selected during installation, Office will install some extra Asian fonts for you. This is one of them.
Anyway, I uploaded this font to ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Universal
I don't know if this upload is appropriate. If it is not, the board moderators, please feel free to delete it. Thanks.
The principles that I outlined above should work with any TrueType Chinese font that you like.

Download "(Open_ch)UNI_DOPOD_11336_134_10402_Test.exe" from the "Universal" folder of this site (see the link in my previous post). Use Winzip to extract all the content from this EXE file into a folder on your hard drive. Place "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" into the same folder. Then perform the steps I mentioned above.
I have Modify the font to KAIU , But it does not suppurt Simpfy Chinese, it only support tradition chinese, does any font will fit Both?
I did it!

Yes, as I mentioned in one of my previous posts, KAIU.ttf seems to include only traditional Chinese. The MingLiU font that came with the Dopod ROM has both traditional and simplified. I presume there are many third-party fonts on the market that support both. Note that fonts supporting both styles tend to occupy a lot more space.

[WM5] BT mouse

My configuration:
PDA: Qtek 9090, WM5 [fix 4]
mouse: Anycom BTM-100
I'm not using any other BT devices, so I cann't tell anything about conflicts.
I've found only one bt mouse driver.: http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/Drivers.asp
Works only with stowaway mouse
Solution is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=137702.
Version 4.3, designed for WM2005 doesn't work for me. Version 4.2 designed for WM2003 works fine with both 2003 and 2005.
Safe mode:
Here you will find repacked driver [any mouse, any OS]:
http://www.cabfiles.net/view.php?id=50
Just download, install, wait several seconds, reboot, follow the wizard and customize as you wish.
So many taps, so many reboots
My procedure [works only with WM2005]:
Install attached CAB
Wait several seconds
Reboot
Turn on BT
Tap: Start -> Settings -> System -> BTMouse -> Connection -> Connect
Power on mouse or press mouse button 'connect''
That's all.
Every time you need mouse - turn on BT, turn on the mouse and use the mouse.
First of all: be warned. Uninstall procedure is very poor. Both in my version and using safe [original] mode. Before (!) driver installation write back value from registry:
key: HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\BlueTooth
value of: Dll
If you would like to unistall any version of the bt mouse driver - simply restore this value [and wait several seconds] and reboot.
My value is "Serial_BTUR.dll".
If your value is something else - use safe mode described above.
If any of your BT devices is using COM4 [tap BT icon, then COM ports] use safe mode or modify HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Stowaway\BT_Port to any other COM port.
Good luck.
Turn on BT
Tap: Start -> Settings -> System -> BTMouse -> Connection -> Connect
Click to collapse
When I click on BTMouse Folder I get Keyboard Driver not functioning and The Second time it complains the keyboard driver ""STow...dll" not responding please re-install
The safe Mode method gives me those two errors when i boot up
I have a WM5 JasJar Radio 1.06.00
Please Help
Maybe this way:
download stowaway driver for jasjar http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=13&ModelID=75
and follow the instructions from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=137702
Or try to install driver version 4.2 [attached] [this works for me]
and follow the instructions from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=137702
but I'm not sure and results are not guaranted
I was fighting with my mouse at least two days
Still no Fun
Any Driver prior to 4.3 fails on the Jasjar
with two errors as explained before
Who **fixed 8) ** the Stowaway driver initially?
Can't we fix the latest driver
My ultimate prize would be if MS brightens up and include updated BT Mouse drivers in the BT Stack of their much anticipated Release .....
**edit** I see this is the BlueAngel Forum - You lucky people are all probably using a BT Mouse right now heh
Does anyone please have the files from this thread? I've tried to download thme but I just get a 1x1 pixel so I'm guessing they are dead... any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Peter

HTC TyTN vs. HTC HomePlug

Hello,
I've read so many posts about this nice little plug-in, and found a couple that seem to have the exact same issues as me but no solutions/aswers has been posted. I'm hoping someone in here can shed some light onto my ignorant mind.
I have an HTC branded TyTN (Model name HERM200). I have flashed it with the official HTC Swedish WM6 upgrade ROM. Now I've found this nice HTC HomePlugin that I wanted to use. I've tried many different versions but I have the same problems with all of them.
I install HTC HomePlug 2.1, soft-reset. The plug-in loads up nicely. But these things doesn't work:
1. I cant seem to connect any contacts to the speed-dial buttons.
2. I cant seem to connect anything to the launcher-buttons (It just displays a folder icon when I click an empty button.)
3. Weather tab doesnt show anything. (I can live without it though)
4. Musicplayer seems to stop music after a second. I press play, it plays for a second, then stops.)
Please, does anyone have any ideas on why it won't work?

Hi !
Same here with the "HTC Home Plugin v2.1 (patched by N2A)" found at http://www.pocketemu.com/download8.html on a Touch Dual, with French OEM ROM !
1. Cant' add a working shortcut into the Contacts tab : the name appears but when I tap on it, nothing appens
2. Showing a "Folder" icon into the "Sound Profile" tab
3. Showing a "Folder" icon when adding a HTC App only into the "App" Tab : ie. "rotate" or "backlight" adjustment app
4. The weather is working.
The language is French, on a French ROM, but in HTC Home Customizer 1.0, the selected language is "US English". When I switch to French, the language in HTC Home is English...
Any ideas ???
Thx
Try this here. Should be what your looking for.
I've tried this one already:
"Update 17 November 2007 New Version 2.1.1005.722
1. Install on HTCHome Dir and With Brghtnes Fix for Hermes
http://rapidshare.com/files/70343559....schen.cab.zip"
Does not work. What I don't understand is where to get these...
- If not working properly, Try to install sdkcerts.cab.
- If still not working properly, Try to Install cert_SPCS.cab
...and if this is meaning it only works on an English language WM6:
- This is 0409 English version.
HELP!

Thanks alot!
It doesn't seem like its the certs that stop it from working since
it loads up correctly. It's just the stuff mentioned in the first post that does not work... launcher, quickdial, musicplayer and weather.
Does it require WM6.1?
Did u manage to dig up anything? I'd really like to have it working.
If you are running a swedish rom you need to chenage some things in registry, or find the hhcv08.cab to customise the plugin, if I remember correctly you can change settings for language.
I also recall posting n the subject some time ago, do a search on my previous posts.
try this... I run it smoothly.

This did not work. If I check any tab other than Home, the plug-in doesn't show anything at all. Thanks anyway...
Just to follow up. I finally got it working. What did it was that I installed HTC Home Customizer and in the settings in there on the Options tab I selected Plug In Language Swedish and now everything works like a charm!!
hi
I need your help desperately.
I flashed Stu's vista rom and then I installed Emu's Htc home .cab (version 2.1)
After that my phone loads the startup screens and it seems to freeze in the windows screen. I can see the soft keys, the start button....but when I click on that nothing happens.
I try to connect it with my pc but there isn't any partnership established. Also I did many soft resets and pulled out the battery.
Can you help me please?

I'm not really an expert spinyian, but have you tried installing the certs?
Search these forums for SdkCerts.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab. As I understand it these allow some unsigned applications to run properly and may be required by some ROMS and devices.

New Comer , Really Use some Help.

Hello thank you for the site. Recently purchased a Dash from T-Mobile. Was following the directions according to the post: NEWCOMERS!!! Start here for UPGRADING WM 6 to 6.1 with PICS & various IMPORTANT LINKS by Mikey1022.
Chose to use Kavana’s 6.1 ROM.
I used the SDA Unlock Application, and then ran the RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE.
BUT, after the Rom finished installing and I got as far as the Which Voice Command Id like to choose, it restarted and then did not ask me which keyboard layout I would like to pick according to the step by step guide listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415225
Question 1: Please, how can I get to that keyboard layout setup screen because currently my keymapping is all wrong.
Question 2: I was going to move on to next step of installing Tegic eT9 US English Keyboard Layout. But now my ACTIVESYNC WILL NO LONGER CONNECT. It just sits there when i plug it into the phone like its trying to connect and then gives me an error message that unable to connect to the connected smartphone and would I like to trouble shoot it using Windows trouble shooter( Which i did run and tells you nothing)
How can I get my Dash to connect to Activesync. Because currently Im so screwed... Cant connect to activesync, I cant reverse the changes I made, cant download the Tegic eT9 US English Keyboard Layout. I Cant do anything.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Im sure you all read posts like this often, and I did search the forum but was unable to find the answers to these tw questions so any time pent responding I greatly appreciate.
Thank you!
Check out Sticky: ActiveSync Issues/Questions it will help you recover your connection. Then install your Tegic eT9. Your almost there.
Do this with the USB cord DISCONNECTED from the computer.
Scroll down or up to the settings panel.
Select
Scroll right or left to USB to PC.
Select
UNCHECK the first option.
Connect the USB cord after you click on ok.
Then continue with installing the Tegic cab, for your keyboard mapping.
Thank you
Well I was never able to find the keyboard layput screen again, but just hoped for the best and installed the Tegic eT9 US English, and hoped it would automatically know I wanted to use those settings. Which it DID, thank god. So i can type now. Thank you!
And I unchecked the first box like you suggested Mikey ( Disable Advanced network functions in the usb menu) and it FIXED IT! PHEW....
So now that I know I can access my data and can type again on it, Just wanna say thanks for the great site. Love the ROM build and appreciate your guys' help.
Have a good weekend.
WOOT
Came here to see if I could help instead I got help thanks Mikey
Anytime guys.
