I just did a fresh backup of my phone contacts to my SIM and discovered that it doesn't pull any "name" for contacts that have no first and last name but that are instead just a company name only.
Is there a way for me to fix this? If not, how might I go about editing just the contact entry on the SIM itself so that I can correct manually?

hey guys, just a simple question, i finally backed my contacts up on my sim card but now they are showing up on the contacts as well as the original contact entry. how do i disable sim contacts from showing up? many thanks.
holla
I had the same issue.. I noticed that on the kaiser advanced config tool, there is an option to "hide contacts". It actually worked a couple of times for me but I eventually just deleted my contacts off of the sims card and started syncing via exchange server or windows PC. You may want to give it a try though. The cab was called "Advanceconfig.cab" If anyone else wants to add something please do. I would be interested in hearing more as well. I was just disappointed that you cannot back up all your information such as E-mail addresses to your sim. That is why I started using Exchange.
shaps advanced config tool has option for you
I belive that is the program that I have used. It is a great all around congig tool in my opinion.

Thank You it works
Someone called me, and I didn't have that number, I wanted to save it to existing contact, but when I clicked on save to existing contact, none of my sim contacts appeared. There wasn't a way to get to it either. I load all my contacts directly from my sim. Is there a way to move sim contacts to phone? or save current number to existing sim contact?
any good app to manage and sync phone contacts?
I have my old sim and I want to put the contacts from that sim on to my new Desire. I had to have a new sim and number for it so want to add the contacts from the old sim. I wondered what the best way was. Any help greatly appreciated......
I know it's laborious but you could copy your old contacts into your Gmail contact list, then they'll automatically be sync'd with the device. It'll be less of a ball-ache than having to key them in on the device.
I was wondering the same but seeing as hand problems going from SE sim contacts to Samsung HD contacts (loads more field options) then spent time having to clean up all the contacts.
So this time i was able to first export all my contacts to VCF files then just joined them up into one big VCF file split by GMAIL groups and they just synced straight to the handset as i was doing it.
Plus its a lot easier to edit the contacts via GMAIL than on the phone.

Just stick your old SIM into the Desire and 'Import all contacts from SIM to phone'. This will transfer all your old SIM contacts to the phone itself. If you want these contacts in the new SIM (not necessary) then stick in the new SIM and transfer the contacts (now on the phone) to your new SIM.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe contacts saved on SIMs do not support multiple entries/fields or is quite limited.
If you want to transfer all your data 'as it is' (or as close as possible) then you need your old phone and transfer via a common software - MS Outlook for example.
i imported the sim contacts, but didnt link them with my facebook contacts. So i reimported my sim contacts and linked them to my facebook contacts.
now i have duplicate imported sim contacts.to confirm this is an issue i tried clicking the "import sim contacts" button again and yea, it did import another set of duplicates.
Is there any easy way to clean up your contacts list? I cant find anything in settings.
I did this aswell, if you are importing SIM contacts then i assume you have only just set it up so the easiest thing i found was to reset to back to factory default. Only need to set up your accounts again but doesnt take long.
Ok here's the story
saved contacts to gmail account
needed to return phone for repairs
exported contacts from gmail to SIM card
put SIM card in loaner phone
added new numbers to SIM card from loaner phone
got back real phone and inserted SIM card
imported contacts from gmail AND SIM card
Now all (but the newest) contacts appear twice What's the easiest way to fix them? Do I need to do all one at a time?
In contacts set which number or.places to show (gmail, sim etc)
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Delete all contacts and then just import from either gmail or sim, since they are identical.
You can also check whether your contacts weren't doubled on your Google account (via PC is most comfortable). If so - there is a tool to remove all doubled records offered directly inside your contacts list in the account.
Choosing the source of contacts to show as described above by colleagues will help surely as well. Regards.

Just download MyPhoneExplorer from market and for PC and have full access to your phone.MyPhoneExplorer was initially made for SonyEricsson phones but then expanded with android devices from all brands with WiFi support.
