Blinking light on 080312 - HTC Excalibur

is there a way to disable the green flashing light? Have it blink only for notification (SMS MMS Voicemail missed calls etc)
Without using an app. I know dontforget does it well. Since notification (reminders) works on this version, no need for that app.
Thanks in advance

There's nothing different about the blinking light. ALL ROMs blink that light as long as the GSM radio is on... I dont think anybody found a way to turn it off.

try this

This one works.

Yeah i know about programs out there that manipulate the registry. I just dont want to add a program too turn off the blink.
I figured someone might off figured out what registry gets changed.
Thanks

Deactivate the right LED

Hi,
i hate the right LED over the Display which all time blinking... Did someone know how i can deactivate it forever?
greets
Kenny
Desolder it from motherboard
..or simply stop the driver for the led (with a taskmanager stop $device\LED1, or maybe $device\NLD1, just try what works for you.)
(I use FdcSoft taskmanager)
hi,
great. it´s ok now.
thanks

Kenny
I'm glad it works
Just for curiosity..what driver did you disable?
NLD or LED1?
Do the WiFi led work?
AFAIK you will deactivate vibration alert as well. Could you check?
I think I wrote VJImpoto for this, but it doesn't work 100%. Haven't had the chance or inclination to finish the work off - but the right led reactivates itself after a while (I think with any of the currently known techniques).

Hi,
today i checked, that my Vibration will not work. Can someone explain how i can activate this LED now. When i click on Set Manual and will start it, then comes an error and it don´t start.
I try it with the Task Manager

Black nikko goes a long way.. also duct tape
Now i have the Problem, that i deactivate it with the Task Manager and now i can´t activate it, because the Vibration is too important.
I hope someone can help me.

Kenny
However I can't understand the reason why it seems so difficult to deactivate the right led on the Hermes....I remember that in my BA was such a simple thing to do...
Hi,
when i deactivate the LED with the Taskmanager, then the Vibration is off too.
Thats the Problem. And the funniest thing is, that i can´t activate it now.

Get Rid of Blinking Green Light???

Yes i used the universal cab found everywhere for this that is suppose to give u options in sounds and notifications. I installed, soft reset, went to sounds and notifications, drop down menu, nothing for this flashing green light. Yes under new text message and stuff like that theres a box u can check to flash the light and how often but that does nothing! I have all the boxes unchecked, i get a new sms, and still the green light blinks until i read the sms, wtf? Anyway to get rid of this light completely?
I heard that once you change the registry for it to blink...it will blink regardless if you have it checked or not.

So where is the registry edit to turn it off?
I have a problem similar. I dont want to get the blinking light on new email but cant seem to get rid of it. I did find a post where it told the registry edit to turn it off and it only worked for the first send/rec then after that the blinking light came back
Just my theory as I have been looking for this for months is that we are missing an alert setting. WE are missing the "unread message alert" that has been missing for a while. It is not that it doesnt shut off, it is the unread message overrides it and keeps it blinking. Have yet to find a fix for it

Change LED flash color per operation

I did a search and didn't find anything(although I used the mobile app to search, read:aggravating)on this subject. I want to know if there is a mod to change the led flash to blue for messages and missed calls instead of red. Just a personal aggravation, really. Not something I absolutely can't live without, clearly.

The only thing I know of is to use GO SMS. You can change the LED to blue for SMS messages through GO SMS but I don't think it will change the color for missed calls.
LightFlow has been working very well for me on default mode on EL29 and FC22. Only blue and red work, but they work reliably. You can get purple to work if you use "direct mode", but I find that the LED turns off when the phone goes to sleep mode, so it's not very useful as a notification light.
re
I as well have been looking for a WAY or MOD or APP that will successfully allow me to change the LED notification accordingly but yet have been able to find anything that FULLY works. Liteflow doesnt FULLY work as the adjustments are off and when screen times out its pointless pretty much.
The ONLY thing Iv been able to find for another "notification method" is having the LED Flash from the Camera flash for an alert. Pretty cool thought if you have your phone faced down and dont here it.... Send me a message as for request if anyone wants the know how to set that up and I'll give you step by step..
try blink from the marketplace. its like lightflow, but its much lighter and more efficient and works great.
keep in mind the led will only display blue red or purple tho.
blink is one of my must have apps

LED Notification - change timeout?

Right now it looks like the LED Notification on the One X is set at something like 5 minutes (it stops blinking after that). I presume this is a simple setting (maybe in build.prop - I'm no dev). Is there any app or hack that can make this longer? I don't always look at my phone every 5 mins or less and I like not turning on the screen to know if I have a notification.
there is a app in market - i think it called "blink". With this you can manualy setup all led-colour, blink-time and much more others.
Will that blink app works with extending htc one x notification led duration?
You can also do it with Tasker.
I didn't find the blinker.
Tasker is not working for me...
I don't believe that can't configure the led timeout...
Yes I would also like to try it. If you search "Blink" on google play online it's the first result. However that app only lets you configure the green led and I don't think the frequency change works. Also you can't change the orange led and it cannot find it.
Still searching...

Other ones to try are, "Lite Flow" and "LED me know".

I'm not sure if these work with One X. I used Led me know for my Desire HD.

unfortunatelly the led blink only five minutes in all applications...
I used to have LED me know app on my Desire Z, but it didn't work so good after the Android 2.3.3 update.
I'll follow this thread, I need that blinking light to stop only when I turn on the screen, otherwise it's pretty useless if you don't see the phone in the first 5 mins.

i absolutely agree with you. This is useless feature in this form.
I've found the application (with source code) which name of missed reminder.
https://launchpad.net/missed-reminder/+download
if you disable the factory led notications and you can enable this (except the gmail notification because is not working whith new gmail api...) it will works sms, mms and missed call notification without time limit.
i've tried repair the code that we can use gmail reminder but the new gmail api don't work with HTC sense 4.0 (but with CM9 works)
i'll try more... maybe
Thank You!!!!
Thank you man, i followed your advice on my HTC One X and now thanks to you the 5 minutes
