Hey all. I used IMEI-CHECK to unlock a T-Mobile Dash I bought and now I am encountering some issues. I am using the phone on Cingular’s network. I have a Data package with them and for some reason cannot connect to the web from the phone. Also, when I ActiveSync, my contacts from OUTLOOK do not transfer over. I get an error message. I had a NOKIA E61 and all worked fine. I do not know why I am getting these error messages.
Also, under the COMM manager, the “Direct Push” and “Data Connection” options are grayed out and I cannot set up anything….
Please help. Do I need to rip the phone’s software off and re-install unlocked setting or what? How do I do it?
Thanks….
I don't think your issues are related to unlocking, backup everything and try a hard reset on the device and then try to activesync and setup your email account.
Did you change your settings?
You need to change your settings to work with cingular. Search this forum for the cingular wap/mms settings.
I am using XDA Live 0.20.1 together with radio 1.35 on my Imate jasjam.
Before WM6 , I was able to use Cardexport 2.20
But now it does not work.
Windows XP pc discovers a new device named HERM100, then USB Mass storage but at the time of its drivers being installed, "a problem occured...." etc.
So I end up with no device connected.
I also tried WM5torage and it gives the same result.
Is there anyone with WM6 who can use Cardexport/WM5torage ?
Which version of radio rom (is it even related) ?
Thanks...
Go to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC
Then unselect "Enable advanced network functionality"
That works for me.
is there any conflict with secure file on storage card is enabled?
Card Export II web page says it's still not compatible with the Hermes. WM5torage never worked for me in WM5. Then it worked in XDA Live 0.10, but was a no-go in the various subsequent releases/versions (tried them ALL just for that purpose!). But I'm happy to say WM5torage works very well in the Black Ed., for me, at least.
I have also this prob, untill now I did not find any working solution for mass storage, if I uncheck advanced network functionality, then driver is sucessfully installed on PC, however access on disk still doesnt work. I tryed WM5storage and also soft stick card export...
coeptum,
thank you. it works with Card Export after disabling "advanced network functionality"
btw, what does that mean ?
Using XDAlive 2.0 it works fine also, I had to un tic the boxes under status, where it says Read only and Removable class. I'm using WM5torage.
WM5torage works for me - for the first time ever! The original TyTN ROM and the 1.35 South Africa ROM did not work with it, but WM6 Black Edition v1.1 does. I'm pretty much confirming most of what whatledog said.
Has anybody gotten WM5torage to work on the Titan/Mogul? I'm currently running WM6.1, but I don't think either worked in WM6 either.
WM5torage 1.8 Working on Apache with helmi 6.1
I took a couple tries, but here's what I did:
Disabled Advanced network functionality in the USB-to-PC settings panel.
This did not fix it on its own, but I have left it off
In the Menu > Troubleshooting turned on Disable RNDIS on Activate
No love. Unchecked Disable RNDIS. Muttered absently.
Menu > Troubleshooting turned on Disable Concurrency
Hey howdy, it works.

i had the same problem, and fixed it yesterday by checking 2 points in troubleshooting menu of wm5torafe. you should have disabled concurrency and rndis. that's enough. no need to disable Advanced network functionality in the USB-to-PC settings panel.
Sprint HTC Mogul 6800
Works on my phone now. Card Export v.3.12 was the trick.
Alright, I just recently upgraded my 8525 to CUSTEL's v2.5 WM6 rom not too long ago. Shortly after upgrading, oddly enough, I cant really sync my phone period to my PC. Everytime I connect my device, it picks it up as a Windows Mobile Device, but then afterwards gives me an error telling me the device wasnt properly installed . Ive trekked around a bit and to no avail, couldnt find a solution to this kind of problem. Does anyone know exactly whats going on and how I can resolve this?
I am getting the exact same problems. My phone seems to sync the first time, but then afterwards i get the usb device not recognised pop up
Did you find a solution?
I actually did.
Start > Settings > Connections Tab > USB to PC.
Make sure to disable Advanced Network Functionality, because it'll recognize your device as a modem if you dont.

Shift I love you. I've been trying to get my ActiveSync for about 2 or 3 hours.
Hello,
I've upgraded my HTC P3300 with the htt://member.htc.com downloadable HTC_P3300_FRA_3.13.406.1_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship_R.exe
The ROM updated like a charm.
Since done I can no more connect my P3300 to Internet through my PC while using ActiveSync (4.5).
This worked correctly with WM5, on standard settings.
The USB to PC "Enhanced network" setting is enabled, I tried to disable and enable it again with no change. All settings are by default.
My PC get a 169.254.2.2 IP adress and I can Ping 169.254.2.1
Trying to load a page in IE returns a warning window "Connection impossible, go to connections settings"
Thanks for any suggestion,
Jean-Jacques

Could you have it set to Automatic?
I had the same issue, solved it with this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321471
Hi all,
Since re-installing activesync my PC will not pair with my PDA. The PDA connects as a guest and I can use activesync to install software and browse files, but I cannot sync!
I believe a sync wizard is supposed to open but this doesn't happen.
I really hope you can help as I currently have no calendar or contact data on the PDA.

Open AtiveSync with phone NOT connected, goto "File" and "remove portable device" (or similar, I've italian version, I don't know exacly string in english).
If there is an old configuration, in this way you'll remove it, then it must start the wizard... (I hope...)
Hi!
Thanks for the reply! There are no existing partnerships in Activesync, because it is a new installation!

I thought it was a re-install... You can try removing all drivers and ActiveSync and reinstalling all, it seems an istallation problem or a wrong ActiveSync version...
Try to download ActiveSync newly
If you have any kind of firewall software try to disable it...
Then, if activesync works, you have to set up new firewall rules...
Did any of these methods work? did you do something else to make it work??
This is how I got it working.....
go to settings/connections, open USB-PCand untick "the enable advanced network configuration"
if this does not work, and if your trying to sync to an outlook server then in settings/connection, choose connections, chose advanced tab, select networks, then ensure both have chosen the same network ( ie my Work Network). On the chosen network chose edit, and you should see a Proxy Setting tab.. Choose this and ensure the only top box is ticked ( this network connects.....)
worked for me... dunno why?
yeah try xda-boj's one it should work fine
start\settings\connections\usb to pc and uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality'
Thanks for the suggestions. I know I wasn't clear in my earlier posts, so:
- I had Activesync 4.5 installed, and it worked.
- Then file transfer from the PDA to the PC stopped working (the files appeared to transfer, but did not appear on the PC)
- So, I uninstalled Activesync 4.5, downloaded it again, and reinstalled it.
- After the re-install, Activesync would not create a partnership with my PDA running WM6.
- The partnership wizard does not start!
- I don't get any error message; in fact nothing happens, except that the PDA connects as a "guest", so I am able to browse files and install software but not actually sync.
- I have tried: disabling Windows Firewall; disabling Avast! anti-virus; checking that all connection protocols are enabled in the "network connections" control panel; re-installing Activesync again; and finally I got the same error on another PC.
- I haven't yet tried unchecking the "Enable advanced network functionality" box - I'll try that as soon as I get home tonight.
Beyond uninstalling Activesync, is there anything else I should be doing to start with a clean system?
Thanks again,
K
I have the same problem.
You can try reinstall the active sync app (repair option) and then reconnect and uncheck "the enable advanced network configuration".
I am doing this evey time
I've tried unchecking "Enable advanced network functionality", but that doesn't solve it!

Where can I find this option?
K
start->settins->USD to PC-> Enable advanced network functionality
Oh, OK. I'd already done that! Keep coming in with suggestions though!
