wm5torage for sony ericsson - General Accessories

I know this is a WM board but i gotta ask u guys cos the knowledge here is very good, my friend has a SE w850i and he want a program like wm5torage, if you know any, or know a specific Sony ericsson board?

To the best of my knowledge, new SE have this built-in and selectable from a menu when you plug the phone in. What happens to your friend upon connecting?

he wants to use it as a protable memory for his car stereo with an usb jack, i do that with my phone, and it works great, but my mp3 wont work, dunno why cos it appears like a portable device in windows but the car stereo just says usb usb then fm radio again, i guess he has the same problem...

Precisely, what is shown on the phone display? There should be a menu: http://www.knowyourmobile.com/sonye...uides/101/using_the_w850i_as_a_usb_drive.html

when he plugs it in, the menu appears and he select file transfer, but it wont work...

Do I understand you right? It works with the computer but not the car stereo, which refuses to accept the MP3 player too? Then it's just an incompatibility. And as that SE is not a smartphone, all you can ask for is a firmware upgrade - check SE site.

okay, thanks!

did he tryed connecting the phone while off?

whenever you connect it it turns the phone off and asks if u want file transfer or some other stuff

Hi, I think its easy enough to do so. I use to do this with skype but the idea is the same.
First the bluetooth stack that windows has is no good. You gonna need another one with more profiles. I use the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack.
I dont now what hardware u have, mine was branded in device properties "blutonium" and its internal in my laptop, I search their site and downloaded the said drivers (stack). Now maybe urs maybe different... u should find one and the newest version the best. Use google or something...
Anyway, after installation I run the bluetooth configuration utility and after pairing my bluetooth headset with my laptop I shoose to use the profile "hands free audio" with my headset. Afterwards I open skype and in settings where u choose audio (in which the only option before was my sound card) now appeared the option of my wireless headset. After that the sound comes from my headset.
I think that u can choose to use the Artemis as a "hands free audio device" among others when u do the pairing.
The funny thing is that u can do the opposite and when pairing u can choose your PC to be Artemis' hands free audio meaning that... when u play an mp3 or someting on ur Artemis u can hear it through ur PC speakers... from 10 meters distance...
The only requirement is to have a new and feature-rich bluetooth stack.
Good Luck
Hey thanks a lot for the tip!
I'll try it out

Audio over Bluetooth question

Hi all, I can’t seem to find a straight answer on this forum about how to connect my SX66 (WM6.1) to my Windows XP PC over Bluetooth so I can listen to my mp3s or internet radio on my HIFI system that’s connected to my PC?
I am using a Bluetooth USB stick and I have them both paired using the BT software the came with Windows XP.
I had tried BlueSoleil software in the past to listen to my music but I didn’t find it practical because it keeps disconnecting and I would need to pair them again.
I am running ROM version: 6.141 WWE, RADIO version: 1.02.10 and ExtROM version: BLACK KERNEL
Thanks
first of all let's make sure i got the question right:
you want to stream audio from your sx66 to your pc, right?
well that is no problem in general, since the sx66 is known to have better BT quality than most of the other BA models (further range, higher tx rate).
since windows xp does not come with a proper usable bluetooth client (unlike vista) i woul generally recommend bluesoleil, because it can be a handy tool, once you got all the settings right. plus you don't need extra drivers, since most of the BT chip manufacturers work with bluesoleil.
then all you have to do is pair your device with your pc and once that's done, set bluesoleil to allow the device to do all further things in all areas without further confirmation.
then you need to make sure you have the a2dpfix on your sx66, which is needed for stereo bt stream.
then, when paired, start wmp and play music, and look in the mixer on your pc, if a signal comes in, and what channel and turn it up / activate it for audio input.
(let me repeat that all this is so much easier in vista, and for every step i made the other day i have to think of 5 ones which are necessary to do the same on xp)
then your stream should work as long as you don't close wmp, if you do so and then want to continue playing, you need to connect to your pc in your BA's bluetooth app again, but need no settings on the px anymore which i guess is a relief.
back to the basics: if you really want to do that, you can do it now, but still i can't think of a reason why anyone should do that, i suppose the mp3s your playing come from your pc and you could play them there anyway, your pc can probably also play internet radio.
if that is a "i turn the screen off and control the music with my mobile!" thing, i can give you another freeware, with which you can control winamp, whenever you are connected via activesync, no matter if you are doing that via cable, cradle, BT or wi-fi.
i just gotta look it up, i don't have it right now either but it is great!
e.g. i want to control my music while playing, but with full screen games and without media keys on the pc's keyboard i need an external winamp control to (plus it also provides jump to and other things media keyboards can't do).
EDIT: i could not find the program i had to control winamp from my device, but it was a bit older, even worked with wm2003se, but i did find, that people do like to control their pc players from mobiles, therefore, a thread was made, to be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294524
greetings Chef_Tony
P.S. please re-post, if it worked and if that is what you actually asked.
Thanks
Thank you for the quick reply; Yes you understood correctly.
It seems that BlueSoleil is the only solution for what I want to do, so I reinstalled (version: 6.4.245.0) again with the A2DPFix.CAB and it’s working for now.
Do you know where I can find a cab file to install on my BA to enable the rest of BlueSoleil services (Bluetooth phonebook….)? BlueSoleil is asking me to install “symbian\IVT-wm(1.0.2).CAB” on my device, but it doesn’t work and the only file I can find on this forum is the “bluesoleil_r2.arm_163.zip” for magician.
actually, for other services, like dialing, phoebook, sms and stuff i would suggest pairig the device, and setting up activesync via bluetooth, your phonebook is to be found in outlook then and for writing sms and completely controlling your device i would suggest MyMobiler, which is a freeware remote program which gets the BA's screen on the pc and you can control the device via the pc's keyboard and mouse. i also use that for making screenshots of new roms and stuff, it's free and works with activesync, so cradled, BT, wi-fi doesn't matter. that of course, doesn't 100% satisfy your question, i guess. i'm in a bit of a hurry right now, but be sure to check in this thread later, because i will edit, as soon as i found something that really brings you the services.
Thanks for the info. MyMobiler works great
By the way I uninstalled the A2DPFix because the sound was choppy.
Good evening,
Well MyMobiler is not working everytime on my device and i'd appreciate to find bluesoleil CE if it allows you to send sms from PC without having to link it anytime.
Have a nice evening.

Using Tilt 2 with a Bluetooth dongle

Hey all -
First post. I've searched all over and can't find a solution for this.
What I want to do is use a Bluetooth dongle to connect to my Tilt 2 (accomplished) so that I can listen to whatever audio is coming out of my sound card on my desktop have it transmitted to my phone, which I have headphones for.
It'd be a nice substitute for PC headphones, and would allow me to walk around the house without being wired to the desktop. If I missed a relevant post to this issue, please point me to it, because I looked all over and couldn't find anything.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
If this is not possible and I'm asking for something that can't be done, please let me know.
I'm using Tilt 2 with a stock rom and an ISSCBTA (it says ISSC-5) dongle with windows XP sp3, if that helps at all.
As of right now, I've managed to open a few services like file sharing and serial port service. There is two audio options, but I can't access them.
I thought maybe the problem was the Bluetooth program I'm using on my Tilt 2, which is whatever comes with the stock rom.
Any which way I can figure out how to use my phone as a wireless headset for my computer is fine with me. Thanks in advance.
A dongle like that (I have a Jabra) is supposed to go to an audio out and pair to a device that accepts audio in. I believe the Tilt 2 BT audio profiles are only setup to send stereo audio out to another device and not to receive audio in. I'm pretty sure you can only use the BT on the phone going both ways for data transfer and not audio transfer.

just wondering if anyone might have an idea on how i can get my Desire to connect to a nokia in car handsfree kit... which connects via bluetooth..
I assumed all bluetooth devices could talk to each other but when i turn my bluetooth on and press the button in car to search for devices it fails to locate my desire....
Anyone got a workaround or idea on any way to get it to work??
Cheers for any advice
p.s. its a new car i just got.. and it had the kit already fitted

Usually you use the phone to search for devices: Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Check Bluetooth > Bluetooth Settings > Scan for Devices > Select your nokia device
Kit to find the phone, you will need to make the phone Discoverable: Follow the steps above, instead of Scan for Devices check Discoverable. But like I said before, use the phone to search for your car's handsfree kit.
As above make sure the phone is set to be visible and search for the nokia kit from the phone when the little led is flashing constantly (assuming it's one of those little button type nokia kits)
I had one working fine with my desire - from memory it could answer the call but couldnt hang up, was fine in call though.

Bluethooth multi connections

I would like to connect (not just pair) an extra loud Bluetooth phone ringer (made by Renny) to my rooted desire 530.
(6.0.1 marshmallow, ver. 4.1 bluetooth) that is already paired/connected to a Panasonic "link to cell" cordless phone bank.
The problem is of course that I can only connect one or the other not both at the same time.
Discussions with the Renny tech rep he says his LG will connect as many as you want. The Samsung rep says that only their Galaxy 8 with bluetooth5.0 will do that. My question is there an app for that or a different ROM or kernel update that will do this.
It depends on the capabilities of both devices and the type of service they can provide. At the moment my SmartWatch, my Bluetooth earphones and my pc is connected to my android phone. My Bluetooth earphones are also connected to my pc as the earphones have dual connection capability.

In my short time here I have come to understand that if you see no way to upgrade the phone's software to accomplish this, then it can't be done. But if you do think of some way then by all means let me know. I'm sure the folks that build the ringer would pay well for a patch/app to make their device work right. They have told me that some phones will make multi connections with their ringer and some phones don't and they don't know which ones or why.
