Answer phone in Loudspeaker mode - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi everybody, does anyone know of a fix so that I can answer or make phone calls using loudspeaker mode rather than having to press the Speaker button?
I have an artemis (XDA Orbit) running WM6, I need this functionality when in the car.
Gary

I hope to save your life! DO NOT fiddle with your phone while driving!!!
Anyhow, a quickie! --> There was a very light program I used a while back... search Buzzdev website (google?) Otherwise, "Photo Contacts Pro 5.x" has this feature. Its not free, but you can definetly find the full version somewhere... umm, search and download it from:
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/forumdisplay.php?f=7
I know I got it from there sometime ago.

shirreer,
the reason why I want the fix is so that I do not fiddle with the phone whilst driving, I currently have a loud speaker connected by bluetooth which is a waste of time considering the xda has its own speaker.
thanks for the reply I have trialled something similar to what you suggested in the past; this was not quite what I wanted because I found that I still hat to fiddle, first to answer the phone then secondly to get speaker mode.
Oh well, will have to continue searching

New to XDA IIs - is there anything I should know?

Having just taken delivery of an XDA IIs on Tuesday of last week, I was wondering if other users of this handset (or its variations) had any advice on how to get the most out of it in terms of useful apps, upgrades etc.
As a MS SmartPhone user for over two years I'm not completely clueless when it comes to the device or its operation, but there seems to be a dearth of information about these PPC devices elsewhere. I'd appreciate any pointers and tips.
Thanks in advance.
Get the Bluetooth patch then enjoy.
Can I apply the Asia BT Patch for the O2 XDA IIs to a UK XDA IIs, without any sideeffects?
O2 XDA IIs Bluetooth Patch?
Can someone please post a link to the 02 XDA IIs bluetooth patch?
Cheers
I've got 2 bluetooth patches, one is the essential one to bring you up to build 3500, the other is the one released at CES to give us 2 new bluetooth profiles.
both are available here[/url]
Thanks for that, have they made much of a difference for you?
The build 3500 patch made a phenominal difference to the build1900 that my XDA2s came with. bluetooth is stable, works, doesnt crash. fantastic.
I've installed the other one since then, it doesnt stop any of the other stuff working, but gives you new profiles for a stereo headset when playing music, and a bluetooth keyboard, neither of which I have, but reports on HowardsForums.com suggest that other people are getting on great with this.
I have been able to activate a semi-voice dial from my bt headset since I've had both patches (dont know if second one is essential or not - didnt try before I had it), as long as your voice dial software is running, you have to wakeup the headset by pressing the call button for a period of time longer than a single press but less than turning it off, you get white noise, at this point you can send voice commands to your XDA, but the feedback still comes out of the XDA speaker. it's a send only. Once the call is dialling though the ringing comes through to headset as normal.
This is a step in the right direction in my opinion!
What voice dial software are you using ?
Does anyone know how I can get hold of an O2 patch for fixing the poor mic performance when using the speaker?
@raiderz
I'm using Fonix Voice Dial, which came free on a disk from o2, apparently their new and improved Voice Central is much better (according to other forum users). Check out www.fonix.com
@mhanbury
Can't help with a speaker issue, havent tried speaker phone myself yet, I'm more of a headset person.
I think other users may have had the mic problem, not sure if it was hard/soft ware in the end. Several people have had it fixed now. I was reading about it on HowardForums, I've seen you there too, so it might be worth doing a search for microphone issue and seeing what comes up.
Works a treat, many many thanks!
XDA2s - Blackberry ?
Does anyone know if Blackberry is available on the XDA2s ?
- Activate the button lock or it will do all kinds of wierd stuff in your pocket.
- Check out clear type and see if you like it.
- Go to permanent save and make sure your contacts and calendar is stored permanently. With an XDA you NEVER know when it will do a major reset.
- Assign a button to flip the screen to make it easier browsing the web.
- Chose corporate during install to avoid the slow O2 active interface (that is if you don't like it)
- Get a fix for the minimize/closing of programs, like pocket plus.
- Take frequent backups to the PC
- Be carefull not to break the connector locking pins on the charger interface.
- Put the back light while on battery to the lowest setting. It drains your battery.
- Dont leave wifi on, it drains the battery.
- Get a better case for it. It's a pain having to get it out of the case to answer a call.
What case did you go for?
Do you have a link for it?

I cant get it to work!!

Hi all,
I have been reading about the HTC Universal for a long time, but only became an owner on Monday.
I am having real trouble getting my o2 xda exec to work with my motorola HT820 bluetooth headset!
My problem is that the headset button does not trigger voice dialing.
What happens is this...
I press the headset button for a short beep and nothing!
I press it again for a short beep and my head set seems to connect to the phone and all sounds go through the headset.
But the button STILL does not trigger voice dialer.
The other thing that seems to work is that I press and hold the headset button and the phone automatically dials the last number to be dialed on the phone.
I am pulling my hair out and I cant think what the hell is wrong
I heard that the two devices made a great combination, but I can not get it to work yet.
Can anyone shine a light on my darkest hour?
P.S.
In case it makes a difference somehow, I am not an o2 customer and am with Vodafone. Because of this I removed the o2 active UI software by giving my device a hard reset and chosing a co-operate install.
I did not think this would cause any problems as I heard it was all garbage to do with o2 networks only.
Please guys this is driving me nuts!
Has anybody been through this?
I searched the boards and have not found anything
I can work on it tomorrow for as long as it takes, but I just do not have the faintest idea where to start.
Just wanted to say that I managed to get this working in the end by first using the bluetooth off cab file and then after a soft reset using the bluetooth on cab file.
Both from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...stdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=hack&start=0
I even have voice cmd working with contacts and everything!!!
I am a happy guy

nice to hear, just bought a HT820 myself yesterday as finally a SHIPPING ROM with A2DP came out (QTEK weeee)
Have a problem, when i play music, i just hear the first second then it cuts out.
Also in bluetooth settings when i click/hold the stylus on the HT820 icon, i get options to set as either Wireless headset or Handsfree. Isn't this supposed to be automatic? Which do I set it to?
THanks...

Thread for Bluetooth Problems with Black 3.0.1

I did a search on the other thread and found many people with the same issue. In order to organize our thoughts on this topic I would go ahead and open a thread for it and maybe this will help jj and community members to find a solution.
My problem is much like everyone else. I can connect my motorola S9 they will play music; however, when I go to try to make a phone call or answer a call all I get is a slight hum through the headset with no audio and a possible freeze of the device. The slight hum is initiated by pressing the phone icon button on the headset.
I hope I haven't pissed people off by starting this thread I just thought it was necessary to come together on this because it is not just noobs having this problem but members and senior members.
EDIT: It looks like from the other thread JJ just came on and addressed this issue and is working on a fix. mods please remove this thread.

Widcomm bt project?
My problem:
Parrot ck3100 paired and sincro without problem. But no sound, just static.
Nothing original, as I can read in meny posts.
I wonder if somebody tried widcomm bt drivers (the project for hermes) with black 3.0.1.
I've been seeing a weird issue where the phone doesn't seem to know if BT is on or off. The Comm Manager will say BT is off -- but the blue LED is blinking. You go into BT settings, and it's unchecked (and presumably off) -- but it's still discoverable from PC's. Also hitting the BT button on the comm manager doesn't always toggle BT -- sometimes it works, sometimes not.
It's not a major deal to me, since I only use BT for PAN and file transfers, but that's only because I lost my really nice BT headset.
I have the Motorola HT820.
Black 2.0, not working
LVSW 5/5 working but phone only sometime answers
Black 3.01 - Success! All buttons work and sound is fantastic with stereo. Headset seems to work for call.
Widcom stack on my lappy seems to connect ok, although it seems slower than previous roms for transferring files
I'm currently testing an uncooked version of this ROM and BT is working without any problems
Am using a Jabra BT 250 headset. Initially paired it fine but went to use it an hour later and would not connect.
Re-paired it and it worked but with static.

Mute and Unmute by pressing the Green button twice should bring back the sound.

whats wrong with posting this in the thread for black 3.1? i guess this issue will never be solved not the bluetooth the stupidity
If the BT issues are a problem, do as I and many others did; flash Black 2.5 back onto the phone. Hopefully, your backup will be better than mine
But, the reality is that these are ROMs that are put together by volunteers, and use the latest available software. It can, by its very nature, contain bugs. It is NOT JJ's issue to fix them all--he's done a great job (walshieau too!) making these kick-ass roms. If you want to complain about the roms, flash the official carrier rom, and call them and complain. If you want to be on the bleeding edge, you are going to have to READ, LEARN and UNDERSTAND what you are doing--and be proficient enough to at least TRY to fix your own problems.

Voice control Bluetooth motor intercom?

Hi everybody,
Hope that someone can help me here with the following:
On my motorbike I have an (Starcom1) motor intercom.
I can speak to the passenger, listen to navigation, listen to music and talk to another motorbike. All fine.
Now I use (of course) WM6 devices. Currently the HTC Cruise.
Before I had it set up via my Garmin Navigator, phone rings, number appears on screen and I can decide to pickup or not.
Problem was that on short rides, it is too much hassle to put the navigator on all the time and I hoped to find a better way to still recieve phonecalls.
SO I paired my phone straight to the Bluetooth box on my Starcom.
The problem is that, according to Starcom, my phone needs to be in autoanswerring mode to be able to use it.
Of course this works but is not exactly what I have in mind. Now it is on autoanswer alll the time or I have to go through long menu's to switch it on and off, if I get away from the bike.
I see two options but have not found a solution:
There is some kind of 'connecting' profile system thats switches to autoanswer when it detects a BT headset or special device.
Use voice commands but I have found I always need to press the button to be able to use this. Would there be a method to answer a call without touching the phone in my pocket?
Please give me your thoughts and suggestions.

Headset always on problem

Dear XDA-Developers and users,
For 4 months now, i have my (T-Mobile) Raphael and it's been working great. I have the latest (dutch) HTC ROM installed and that made my Raphael faster.
PROBLEM
Since a few days now, i have a problem with my headset. Actually the problem is not my headset, but when i pull it out of my cellphone.
- The Headset icon stays always in the top bar of Windows Mobile.
As a result, I can't hear my music trough the external speaker. And even worse:
- I can't make a call without the headset plugged in because I can't hear the person speaking and my internal mic doesn't work.
Has anyone ever had this problem? I've searched the internet using Google and I found some articles of Treo user who had the same problem. They recommended pulling in and out the headset, so it would 'reset' this function. So i've tried, it wouldnt work on my Raphael (else i wouldn't start this threat, would i? )
SOLUTION (?)
At this point, i think a great solution would be a little (registry)tweak which can switch on/off the headset-sensor.
Any ideas (or solutions)?
I'd like to hear from you!
Greetings
A Dutch Touch Pro user.
Nobody of you guys ever had the same problem?
Maybe i should create a threat in the Raphael topic?
i have the same problem on polaris
