xda v2 to 1.30.707.8 without screen?

I need to bring my device in for repair at the shop but need to go back to wm5 but ic an't see anything on the screen, is it possible to flash without having the screen work? its all white. im currently on wm6
I don't mind if its in the initial setup as long as its got wm5 on it from three au.

Hey, Was the all white caused by the WM6 upgrade. If you reboot do you even the the boot splash screens???

No, i didn't brick the device, it was working fine and then one day it goes all white screen.
It used to fade away to white screen during use.
It still runs, and i can use the phone, it just doesn't show anything but white on the screen.

try using mtty and aee if you have bad blocks and try flashing a non tool chained rom and see if that helps!

I have successfully flashed it back to the default rom with no screen.

I have searched the internet high and low - found many threads in many forums about the O2 XDA IIs being stuck on boot screen and wont hard reset and NO, I mean NOT a single solution posted anywhere despite the numbers of people with exactly the same problem as me.
It will enter boot loader mode and will flash with WM5 or 6 but neither have working camera or sound.
I have flashed it with Ship versions of O2 and even T-Mobile roms but both freeze at the boot screen and wont do anything else, pressing the usual buttons to get it to hard reset don't work.
So unless anyone can help me either restore the factory rom and solve the frozen boot screen or fix the sound / camera I am going to smash it to little pieces and throw it in the bin.

Don't do that, tell me the cost and post it to me. I can use the spare parts.
Seriously, what have you tried so far? (I missed the earlier posts).
Are you getting stuck at the four colour boot screen, or at the WM splash screen?

I have tried sooo much with this thing I cant remember what I haven't tried now. But to recap when I first got the Xda IIs it was locked to O2 and stuck on the boot screen with the O2 logo and the red writing in bottom left corner showing rom version. Nothing seems to shift from this state, no reset hard or soft makes any difference - take out the battery and when put back in and powered up sticks at the boot screen.
However - I can get it into bootloader mode and merrily flash WM5 or 6 which appear to work perfectly but there is no sound whatsoever and the camera says it fails to initialize the hardware please reset.
I then reflashed it with an O2 stock Ship rom - presumably WM2003 and it is exactly as it was at the start - stuck on the boot screen showing the O2 logo and rom versions.
I even tried a T-Mobile ship rom of the same version and it stuck on the T mobile boot screen.
Arrrgh!!!! I am at my wits end with it - maybe it is faulty somehow and this is not a software fault - I wish there was some diagnostic I could run on it and find out.
I currently have WM6.11 running well but as I said with no sound or camera.
Hope you can suggest something I may have overlooked or done wrong - I am new to this and it is very possible I have missed something.

Well, I am, kind of. I have an XDA IIs as well that needs some replacement parts, so if you are going to smash the thing, I'll pay the post to send it my way.

Hrm...
When it is stuck the boot screen, what does the R, G and D lines show? I'm wondering if the radio ROM might be buggered up. However, you do say that it's working... mostly...

No sound... As in playing a sound file with WMP doesn't even produce anything?
Can you use it as a phone normally?
Have you opened it up to see if the camera and speaker(s) are loose?
One other thing to try, if you don't mind doing another hard reset:
1. Download mtty v1.42
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete) kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001 (If you only see COM 1 and COM 2, try unplugging the USB and replugging it)
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.

The wierdest thing happened.
Have to say that none of the suggestions or ideas (though welcome) helped. I reflashed the WM6.1 after flashing latest radio rom. Still no sound and camera.
Last night I had kept the battery out for a few hours and then on replacing it had to do reset - hey presto after all this time the sound worked and so does the camera.???? I have absolutely no idea what I did to fix it - almost as if it needed resetting a few times - cant think what else I have done.
Anyway I am happy bunny now - it all seems to be working perfectly.

Well, a typical windows machine. My UNIX and Mac's rarely go and burble to themselves like my windows machines do at times.

I see you forget the HARDSPL , This is needed for flashing to an another ROM, you have a ROD100 so you need a hardspl for gsm, install that first and then flash it with a rom ; link to how to flash your phone : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540 let me know if it worked.

You can still flash the phone without sync.
Make sure you have a fully charged phone then
Try this -
Power off the phone.
Hold the Volume Down key, while still pressing the volume down key press the power on key.
This should bring the 4 color screen (red,green,blue,white) with the info you gave in your previous post. Its called the Bootloader Mode.
Now plug the phone into your pc - the pc will install some USB drivers.
The word USB should appear in the white part of the screen on the phone
Then flash HardSPL, wait for reboot.
After flashing HardSPL - go back to bootloader mode and flash your ROM

Verified rawdikrik's fix in post 370. Memory Card needs to be REMOVED for the unlocker to work. This should fix the 262 connection error

I believe HardSPL will try to connect to the net. Please reinsert the SIM

flashed to stock rom...then hardspl and flash to titanium rom...everythings ok...but after 2 hours,went back to a never ending reset of the phone...did i do something wrong? or ill just flash it again and again?!?!?!?

its stuck in loop[ and i cant get to recovery, i can go to the bootloader but nothing past that either way... is there a update.zip i can use or something??? its not rooted and dont remember what this one was in the box for but i do know a rom was tryed to be installed with s-on

Doesn't sound very good.
If it doesn't bootloop inside the bootloader, the best you can do is to download and put this file on the root of your SD card, then try to install it through the bootloader to see if it fixes the problem. If not, there is not very much you can do to solve a bootloop with the phone S-ON.

You can use htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader but you need hboot 2.18 and you have to select all other supported models on the htcdev tool as your device

ok then i didnt do the htc unlock, well i tried the img u said and when it started the update it failed the radio, the first one, but finish the rest fine but said update failed.... i think maybe batterys low so im charging it now to try again, but i have a few bricked evos if anyone wants to see if they can unbrick em'
well i did the update about six times and differnt everytime, but the last time i had no errors an all complete but when it turns off to reboot it never comes on..... once i pull the battery and reinstall the battery if i turn the phone one it just bootloops still. anytime in a menu it says reboot divice and i do hit the button the divice never comes back on??? ivew tryed a few batterys, could this still be the problem?

well i got two bricked evo now if anyone wants them i can send the motherboard out

well my phone was working absoultey fine all day untill it decided to reset and go into a bootloop, well i went into hboot at this point the touch panel-was ok....it said pm...image fail or summit, anyway i took out my 4gig card, reset phone booted as normal, cool i thought prob with corrupt fdiles on sd ard,
then 10 min l8r
it reset itself no mem card in, then bootloop once again. again touch still ok, i put mem card back in! then reset, and again all good! booted fine, everything sworked etc.

no matter what i do now cant get out of this boot loop, can access hboot, but when try to goto recovery it resets a htc logo creen appears with a strange green hue, then back into hboot,

If touch panel broke you aint gonna do anything by yourself, unless you're working in HTC service.

well thats just it---- it was working perfectly , even the first twice it rebooted into the loop, the touch panel, in hboot said ok, it wasnt until the 3rd n final time, that when booting into hboot it said touch panel-fail, follow my first post to get n idea of the order and time frame these set of events occureedm it was strange , as the first twice i was able to remedie it,i presume it wasnt hardware failure, but software, but now im in two minds i have no clue, hence why im here, how can i tell if my touch is deffo upit?
can image failure of some sort cause this?the front led neither works...whiloe in the loop scenario.

ps--- i have replaced touch screen n lcd on iphones, is it as easy as that? if needed!
