I have had this issue in a number of ROMs. I set my clock to +10 Hobart. Before long, it resets itself to Vladivostok. I dont really care, because it is the right time, but c'mon... of all the places.. Vladivostok? Sounds cool, I guess..
Yeah I had this too.
To fix just go into start, settings, phone, time zones and turn off automatic time zone.
Job done.

You are not the only one, try this!
I'm glad to have found a way to stop this from happening. Thanks for your advice. Question remains, though, why does it happen in the first place? I have noticed that a lot of these ROMs make no allowance for daylight savings time here in Aus, so that is one reason why automatic update would be handy to have turned on. Oh well, if thats the biggest issue I have....
Da, Comrade, I also have this problem.
I set my TZ to Brisbane, save, and then check again, and I am mysteriously teleported to Vladivostok again.
I think it is something to do with the way it reads the registry. It simply reads the hours past GMT (Brisbane and Vlad are both +10) instead of the next branch of the registry tree, giving the location.
Why it picks Vlad instead of Bris, I don't know - would have thought it went alphanumeric sort, but maybe it picks the last entry instead of the first.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I am in Syd so it was really screwing with our daylight savings time, my mind and my Calendar entries. It only seemed to happen when I active sunk. Will see how it goes.
Oh, and thanks to google search for without it I would not have found this thread.

I get this sometimes. To Fix it:
Log out and clear all your cookies (even though log out tell's you they are all cleared). If you using Firefox 3, click the Icon to the left of the address bar, the click More Information, Security Tab, View Cookies, and remove any remaining.
Somethings have changed, but this problem occured before and after the changes for me.

I sometimes get this. Often hitting refresh seems to fix the problem.
I'm getting the message on my Treo, something along the lines: 'a script causing device slow may become unresponsive'

Hrm, big bump in the road:
the thing causing the quick reply function not to work properly is a google ad. I removed it because I thought that it was an old, incorrectly working ad on the wrong location. But it turns out it's our ad hack that supplies us with 2/3's of our monthly income.
Now let me get this very straight: we are not in this to get rich, the current ad income is enough to keep xda-dev running but losing 2/3 to gain a correctly working quick reply function, will get us into serious money problems very soon.
So the only thing I can do at the moment is break the quick reply function and enable the ads, whilst searching feverishly for a better solution.
I'm well aware of vbulletin.org so I will be searching my ass of there, and try every possible solution they have, but untill the time comes where I've found a working ad solution, I hope you can all avoid the quick reply function.
I'm very sorry to have to make decision, but I hope you can all see that this the lesser of 2 problems.
Best regards,
Flar

Hi guys,
I seem to be having some problems. I previously sliced roloracer's colored topbar theme with the new delicacy theme to acquire some great effects. but now i need it in .cab form for others who want to colored topbar. i have all the files and my .xml in a zip file. if anyone wants to take a look at it and compile the cab and tell me what the heck i did wrong it would be greatly appreciated. shoot me a pm or post if you want me to send you the file for you to look at. it's always somethings small.. and i'm sure i'm missing it. proofreaders make the world go round.
Send me a PM with the link & where the files go and i'll shoot it back
I know what you did wrong!
you sliced "my colored topbar" instead of making your own.

well you know... i spent all day at the state fair and then doing homework and by the time it came to photoshop time my eyes where getting tired.. so i saved the hard work and went to the coding... but apparently that requires mental powers that aren't there.. i swear i need to mute my email notification. every time i go to sleep i get a message from xda with a reply waking me up again. if you give me pixel sizes i think i'll create some amazing topbar images. all you have to do is make the cab.. since thats the part i seem to fail at.

Any advice - I've searched the forum and can't find how to fix annoyances with my standard ROM Touch Pro 2 with HTC's Win Mo 6.5.
1. How do I get weather to update more frequently?
2. I'm mid-summer where I am now which means the sun is up and bright well before 7am. Why the @#&* does my Pro2 insist on showing me a moon until well gone 8am?! The weather app doesn't seem to be sunrise/sunset aware for each location and it seems to think we're all stuck in the middle of some Siberian winter all year around!
Mark
by defualt its set to update every 3 hours if you have auto update enabled.
If you want it to update more frequently use a registry editor and navigate to
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\
Scroll down to
Weather.AutoDownloadInterval
and edit the DWord Value which is in minutes
I just set mine to 45.
btw i just found out how to do this by searching the forum for "weather update interval" so try to search next time
98% of the issues your gonna have most likely have been experienced by somebody else
Well, the moon is often still in the sky, even if the sun is out!
Thanks for the pointer fone_fanatic.
Unfortunately that tweak doesn't work for me - the registry key didn't exist, but even creating it made no difference. I see others on the forum (I've found them now I know what I'm looking for) have the same problem.
Btw I did try searching ... but didn't think of that phrase. Which now I think of it is pretty obvious but at the time I tried several other that I thought would point me in the right direction!
You're right - xda-developers is a great forum for solutions and I've found many here. Problem is using honing in your problem on your phone when there's such a vast database.
Anyway - thanks again. Annoying that I can't fix this though!

But how about this? It's 10:30pm as I write this and the sun is still showing on my Pro2 home screen!
Make sure you are going to HKCU and not HKLM or the such. Setting that has worked for me for making it update properly for 5 different versions of TouchFlo.

Hi and thanks for the advice, but I have checked and triple checked.
I note plenty of people on the forum are having problems with this so I'm not the only one. Strange that HTC didn't allow a setting for this within the interface somewhere.

TouchFLO 3D's weather data seems to come from AccuWeather. (This might vary by the ROM and its intended country though.) Maybe HTC didn't want to risk overloading AccuWeather's servers with too many users updating too frequently.
As for the sun/moon ratio, I don't know where these guys had their heads. My location doesn't change from sun to moon until 9PM, even though by 7PM it's already dark.
Hello Eveyone,
I downloaded Zooper on Friday and have been playing with it, learning it, reading the forums about it and killing a LOT of time with it LOL! I have learned a lot, and am ploughing through making my own theme for the first time. I have found most of the answers to my questions on here except the main one I need help with:
I want GMT displayed on my home page, not just the differential that's included in #Dz#. I've tried everything I could think of for it, including using the math operators to take local time and add or subtract the value of #DZ# using if then statements but nothing is working. I'm a pilot and that would be a handy value to show on the home screen for us frequent time zone crossers.
Can anyone help me with this please? Seems easy enough but I am obviously missing something. Any help woould be appreciated.
I am a retired Navy fighter pilot, currently living and working in Jakarta, Indonesia as a pilot training captain. Look forward to seeing all of you in here and if any of you live or wander close by, be sure to hit me up!
Cheers,

Zooper: How to display zulu time for pilots
KilaWatts, It's been awhile since you posted this, but here is your solution. I also wanted to display this on my zooper widget, and I figured it out! Even though it's posted late, I thought that it might benefit other pilots like us as well. Rob
$(#DHHmm#-#DZ#)$Z will display zulu time (eg. 1543Z)

Correction
I just realized that I was wrong, please disregard my previous post. The correct way to do it is to go to "Override Widget Locality" for the specific module. Then touch the "+" button. Type in the name of the city that you are in, and for the time zone scroll down and select "Etc/Zulu". The code that you need to enter manually is: #DHH#:#Dmm#z

Rob,
Thanks for both posts.....I appreciate the effort even if it's wrong mate. I understand the second way, however, that seems to just do it manually, and not automatically once I land in another time zone, like the time gets updated. Maybe I'm wrong and if I do it once, where I live now, it will update by itself when the phone comes on and I'm in a different time zone?
Thanks in advance and hope that's not a stupid question LOL! Caught me a bit off guard with an answer finally! My UI is all set up, sans this of course. I'll play with what you suggested and see and maybe you can answer my question in the meantime.....
Cheers buddy and thanks again! :fingers-crossed:

I wanted to display GMT that will auto correct when my time zone goes through a time change (-5 to -6). The closest I got was the following conditional. I hope this helps
$(#DH#-(#DZ#/100))$:#Dmm#
This uses your phone's local time and then factors in DZ.
Thanks!

So I've just started playing with Zooper and this is something has been an issue. With the layout I have now whenever the weather condition whenever it is thunderstorming outside (which is very often) it overlaps the word condition. So my question is: Is there any way to abbreviate thunderstorm to T-Storm?
Well that was actually easier to do than I thought. Just in case anyone else needs it here is what I did.
$#WCCOND#=thunderstorm?T-Storm:#WCCOND#$

Found this buried in a Google Search. Thank you. Any idea for how to do this for multiple codes? IE, T-Storms, Scattered T-Storms, Heavy Blizzard, etc.?
Wrong thread
Thanks! I'm digging around a bit more with Zooper. Appreciate the information!
Mokum020 said:
You just have to repeat the code for every weather condition you want to abbreviate.
I also think you don't need the last bit of the code, this should do the trick:
$#WCCOND#=thunderstorm?T-Storm$$#WCCOND#=scattered clouds?S-Clouds$

How is this code finished? I tried using what's listed and nothing displays. It needs to end by telling it to display the current condition if it's different then any of the conditions listed to abbreviate. Messing with it and can't figure out the right ending.
