Hello everyone:
I did a search and didn't find anything, but if I missed a thread about this, please point me in the right direction.
I bought a Dash off eBay quite a while ago and flashed it with a standard HTC ROM (1.27.405.1), it is on Rogers in Canada. Everything works fine except I cannot get any headphones to work.
I bought an adapter off eBay (Actually 3 adapters now). They are extUSB to regular headphone adapters. I plug them in but the music still keeps coming from the speaker on the back.
Am I the only one having this issue? Is it possible I have a defective unit in some way? I find it unlikely because USB Sync / Charging works fine.
Any ideas, I really want to use this phone as an MP3 player.
Thanks,
Matt

Buy a Bluetooth Headset Stereo, it works very well.
I got the Sony Ericsson HBM-DS970 and the sound is pretty good

Any other suggestions?
Same problem
I am having the same issue with my S620 and I don't know what to do. Can anyone give a noob a hand...
Try a new ROM.. if not, it's probably a hardware issue.
make sure your extUSB looks like the picture below. The normal miniUSB does not work.
It does look like that picture and what rom do you recommend I use?

I'd recomend a BT headset or going for a HTC set of headphones or getting something like this and using a "normal" mini jack headphones
well I have tried some different roms like you all said but nothing helped. I would get the HTC headphones but kinda strapped for cash, anything else you guys might recommend?

Hi!
i have two poblems with my new vodafone v1640 that i bought on Ebay.
Problem 1: camera aint working
when i try to start the camera there is a pop-up warning that says
"Failed to initialize camera. 36001:100:1.
Could it be a cord or something that is loose or is it the main board, or what?
Problem 2: when i try to play any kind of sound it doesnt works, not even
the ring tones hears, i doesnt work neither with the speakers, headset or
earphones
The worst thing about this is that i dont think Vodafone V1640 is sold in Sweden at all , so i can't just call the support either.
I would be realy glad if you could help me to find a solution to these problems!
PS:
i have tried to update the rom to the latest version but i didn't help
Try to reflash your ROM and see if everything works out fine. I doubt it is a motherboard issue.
Both things makes me think about the possibility that someone have really opened that PDA, it makes sense to me.
First, it can be a program/rom problem like omega_ says, but thinking from hardware side, a loose camera connector and loose or even unconnected speaker/phone jack cables, solder joints can be also good options.
What to say, are you willing to open the device by yourself?
Do you have somebody to do it for you?
Do you know a trusty technician to make this work?
Whatever you do, do it carefully.
Bye
Ok here we go,
I have a MDA compact III which i have taken apart and am in the process of manufacturing a new custom case for, this is something that i notice not many people seem to do, at least i havn't seen any photos of someone doin this - maybe someone else should give it a try and post something... i'll post images of mine when i'm done.
Anyway what i really wanted to talk about was a custom docking station i want to make. i intend to use the mini USB port on my phone for both a method of charging through my computer but i also want to use it as the hands free... but this is the tricky bit... i want to use my computer as the hands free device i.e. use the mic and speakers connected to my computer all at the same time while charging my phone... sounds complicated ay? this is why i need your help... i can manufacture the dock and everything else but the hardware/software issues im well not that great at... please help and maybe give it a try yourselves... it'll be cool to see what everyone comes up with!
Cheers, Benjamin

Maybe you need something like that : http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Headphone-4...yZ150774QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Or alternativly that one : http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-Stereo-a...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
so you can transfer the sound from your artemis to yous PC and at the sametime sync/charge it!
you know what, i reckon that might work, i could take a feed from the mic and also use the 3.5mm jack run through my amp to my speakers. i had hopped for a software alternative using the USB port, but on further thought and now i've seen this device i think this is the only way that i'm going to be able to do it. thanks for your input, i'll purchase one of those adapters and post what i come up with.
Cheers,
Benjamin
Hi guys,
Fairly new so take it easy on me.
New owner of the One X and is a worthy upgrade to my excellent Desire HD.
Sorry if this has been asked already but has anyone had any headphone problems. It seems when headphone inserted its just doesn't pick this up and continues to play audio via speaker.
I'm hoping I'm being very dumb and missing something cos I don't want the hassle of returning the phone.
Much appreciated guys.

It seems like your phone doenst recognize your headphones...
I had the same problem when i bought my sgs+
i solved it by trying several headphones and it worked with one i found
Thanks for the response.
I'll give that a good but seems bad that it can't work with any headphones.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
It does seem strange, I have tried 4 sets of headphones with my HOX (I know, I just like headphones) and haven't come across this.
It could just be an issue with the set you have, hope it's not the phone/headphone socket, good luck!
I've only had it for 4 days so if I'm not happy after some tests it's going back to O2 shop. Which I want to avoid as I have just set everything up etc.

Lets take into consideration
he told us that he has a new phone
so i realy cant imagine its the headphone socket in the phone
if its stock it cannot be a soft bug (ofcourse it could but if it would be a soft bug htc would be a poooooooor cellphone manufacture )
So lets look
some phones (dont ask me why) do not recognize cheap headphones
in some way the do but than only one side works propperly or the sound is messed up or something else
I would call the HTC support hotline
IT must be your phone, mine recognises it perfectly.
Ok however this is a problem that cant be redone by anybody else in a propper way
i would suggest to contact your cellphone seller or the htc support hotline
Thanks for the response guys.
I'm going to try a few different headphones tonight and see what happens. Hopefully it's just these headphones it doesn't like.
If not then a return it is.

Let me know how u fixed the issue
definitely try different headphones. My Favourite pair of Sonys dont work in any HTC phone. They are noise cancelling, so they have a 5pin jack, and HTC's simply don't recognise it.
as long as you have a standard 3 or 4 pin pair, it should be ok, but there are some where the pins don't seem to line up just right...
**** thats what i mentioned to be the problem....
i know it sounds a bit stupid but if the sony headset is ur favourite u might search for a adapter or something else
Sounds like a phone fault to me - I've tried loads of headsets and headphones, all have worked in terms of sound coming out (mic and buttons working is a different story).
Did your HOX come with HTC headphones - I thought they were included as standard, (although they are tinny/cheap) if it doesn't work with them then there is a problem.
If all else fails take the phone and the headphones to the shop and get them to see for themselves.
Good luck.
Ok i dont have this phone and i dont know anybody by the moment who hast this phone
Ask other people u know owning the same phone like u if the may let u test the headset that works for them
To be honest today was the first time I tried some headphones while at work. And they were my old desire HD headphones I had in my draw.
So once I get home I shall try the new HTC ones as well as others I have.
And if not then I will indeed be returning to the shop. I'll let you guys know. Thanks again.

It most be as mentioned earlier about the pins.

The battery does not need "calibrating".
Android calibrates its battery meter against the battery when the battery is fully charged. This means that the battery meter will show reasonable values for the remaining battery life.
That is a fact, regardless of what other people may say, think or do.
Hellow, i`m a user of HOX for about 2 monthes.
I`m a daily user of earphones.
Today when i connected the earphones, the logo of the earphones at the status bar did not appear and the sound came out of the phone and not from the earphones.
I tried using 2 other earphones and obviously the problem is at the AUX port and not the earphones.
Is that hardware problem or it can be software related?
I`m using stock rom(1.29.708.15) and stock kernal.
Also, if that hardware related and i unlocked the bootloader through HTCDEV at the past(i relocked it), can it damage my warrntey at that case?
Ty in advance.

It's a hardware fault.
You have Hong Kong phone, where did you buy it? The warranty shouldn't matter since it's clearly a hardware fault, but some places have less good statutory rights than others.

I was asking about what country, really. If you bought it privately, and you don't have the receipt, not fun. Anyway, HTC might still fix it. Just return as near to stock before returning it.
There is an app that can switch to headphone mode, but I dunno if it requires root. I'll let you find the thread here yourself.

I`m too lazy to search the receipt right now, but i`m sure i have it.
anyway i`ll contact global htc tomorrow and see what they can do, if they will refuse to fix it i`ll contact the seller.
At the worst case, this problem can be fixed at a private phones lab?
edit:
Ok i found this app - toggleheadset2.
when forcing it to headphones mode the AUX works, but again when canceling the force of the app it`s not working.
How can it be a hardware fault if it work`s at forcing mode? that means the port is working.
Try a factory reset, if that doesn't work try installing mist recent ruu make sure it matches your cid, if the port works its probably something else messed up
Your boot loader reads re locked so htc know it has been unlocked before

Did try a factory reset + SD wipe that didn`t work, and i can`t reinstall the ruu because i cannot find it over the net, only the 1.29.708.9 version is available.
after that i wanted to check if that happends with other roms also, so i installed CM 10 (always wanted to use it but i was 2 lazy ) but also at CM 10 theres the same problem so i restored everything again.
so now i back to point 0 with a wiped phone :/
...
Ok, after speaking with htc for using my warranty, they want 15$ just for send the phone to their lab.
After that the lab will make an offer for me, and then i will need to pay another 15$ for the shipment...
so that`s too much for me.
I tried today to "play" with the AUX port by pushing harder the connection, sometimes when i pushed the connection harder or moved it the earphones logo appeared for few seconds, so now i`m totally sure the problem is with the AUX port.
My question is - can i buy a replacement part and fix it myself? if so, what do i need to buy?

The headphone jack is usually soldered on to the motherboard or a daughter board. In most cases you'll need to do some soldering, which is not advisable if you don't have any experience with that sort of thing. If you don't want to waste your money/time with HTC then the next best option is to take it to a local mobile phone repair shop.
Or you can buy a Bluetooth A2DP clip/ headphones/earphones and use it over BT.
Challenge htc if your headphone jack I loose and it's happened through normal use then ring them back and speak to a team leader or manager, htc dev voids parts of the warranty but the headphone jack isn't anything to do with it, I'm in the UK so our laws are different but fight them

Hello,
i would like to know if it workes with the ONE (M7). I would like to buy that dongle if it works.
thx in advance..
Of course it should work with the One, it's a BT device after all,it even works with samsung SGS2 and 3 and my Cowon J3
I got mine a few days ago, when i 1st tried to pair them together it failed about 3 times so i rebooted my phone and tried again and now it works flawlessly :good:
Doesn't work for me. Reset HTC One several times, paired and unpaired. Annoying.
Don't buy it. It doesn't work.
Maybe your car or Bluetooth just doesn't work?

I've been on to the phone to HTC.
It's works fine with any other phone I have including windows phone 8, just not the HTC One. I even did a factory reset. No difference. When you paired yours, what was the exact name given, trying to see if the version number at the end is different to mine.
This problem has been escalated to HTC in Taiwan.
Also where did you get yours from, both phone and A100. Did you select soft reset from menu , pair and unpair? Exact steps and I will try again.
Thanks in advance.

hi gavin
when mine is paired up it says
HTC Car A100 V2.4B
I bought my One from phones4u and my car clip off ebay:good:
Same model version as mine got from HTC accessory store. My HTC from Three UK.
Oh well, found another way. Used my Samsung hs3000 with a male to male 3.5mm lead. Does some job.

I wonder if the phones4u has a different firmware or something. Just don't understand why your A100 works fine, and mine doesn't.
Did you manage to get this working?
I'm also on three UK and don't want to wast £50 on this.
No. But that was on software 1.28 not 1.29. So it might work on newer software. In the end used my Samsung HS3000 Bluetooth and just got a 3.5mm cable to 3.5mm. So one ends plugs into car aux, and the other end of the lead goes into the HS3000 headphone socket.
Same Problem
I also have the "HTC One" and the "HTC CAR A100 V2.4B" and like yourselves it will not play audio through the A100.
I have tried it on my old HTC Sensation and it works beautfully, (almost like having the cable connected).
It doesn't make sense to me as my bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager Legend) works perfectly (when wifi is off (really bad interference with it on)).
I have also submitted a Ticket to HTC and waiting for a useful reply. So far I have the common sense actions to take, which have already been done.
stereoclip
I have had the stereoclip since June and have got it to work with the evo lte, note 2, and the one. The best way to pair it is just open Bluetooth and pair it there before you open the car app. Once it is paired you can hit the settings button next to it and switch on/off the connections. I am able to use my Dual deck for calls and the stereoclip for music and media.
Well I've now tried 2 HTC One's both failed to play sound, they connect that's not been a problem.
I have even done a factory reset on my phone and it still didnt work :S
unfortunately I can't post the link to my logcat on dropbox so unfortunately this has scuppered that idea.
If anyone can figure it out please let us know
Currently stuck using a Belkin b68 but it isn't as good as the A100 (quality of audio).
