I have a xda IIs and it has a security pin is there anyway i can take it off
Is it the pin for the simcard? or the device itself?
If its the device you could try a hardreset.. but not sure..

Hi
Thanks for a very informative forum.
I bought a Verizon in the U.S. for 14 days and will be using this in Norway, I have read that there are some ways to open this to other telephone operators but has not been able to find something that works in Norway.
Does anyone have any tips?

I am using mine in japan so other Sims work, you will just need to enter in the correct apn settings for your carrier.

You need to either get SIM unlock code from Verizon or an unlocking website, or use an xtc clip to s-off and sim unlock. Then you should be good to go with sim cards.

I would oijen to know if unlock the mobile it's a easy process? Because I only can buy locked to Voda.fone
Usually you can buy unlock codes for samsung phones pretty easy. Search the internet and you'll find a service.

If you have a code where you enter it

most GN are not locked. Try another sim from a different provider and it should ask you for a code. If not, its not locked!
Hi
Just bought a Note II, I was told it was a sim free model, and whilst its accepted my tesco sim card without issue when I log into google play on my pc its brought it up as an O2 Samsung GT-N7100 so the question is have I been sold a O2 handset thats been unlocked? I know it doesnt really matter that much but curious more than anything
Or is it possible tgey have flashed it with a o2 firmware my mistake?

You could try. Borrowing a friends sim and see if you can send a message. If yes, the you are likely sim unlocked.

The N7100 is the international version so it should be sim free.
To test your if your phone is unlocked, insert another sim card other than your "tesco". And if it shows enter sim unlock code, it is locked, otherwise it is unlocked.

Tesco runs on the O2 network. That is why, sometimes Tesco handsets will work with O2 Sim Cards only etc...
Yeah I know, hence why im looking to change o2 data coverage is shocking and I cant use sky go or tvcatchup using 3g as it comes up with some rubbish about saying im abroad...

Hi, I got a Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 from my mother. It's been laying in a lost and found box for a couple of years at her work.
There is a simcard in it but I obviously don't know the password to get in.
So I tried doing some factory reset thingie in hope that the password might become non-existant.
Now, I don't know if that iworked since it's now asking for the PUK-Code before I can do anything else.
What I am asking is if anyone know any tips and tricks on how to overcome this problem and get into the phone without erasing what's on it?
Only network operators have the PUK.
There's also small phone stores that may help for a small fee.

agree with this commend.
you should call the operator to get the PUK number.
or the simple one just change the simcard.
