Problem uprading with HTC TyTn official ROM PLS HELP - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hello to everyone in xda-developers. Thank you guys for existing!
I have a problem uprading my HTC TyTN to official ROM version HTC_TyTN_WWE_3.54.255.3_6275_1.48.00.10_108.exe. Im a complete noob and have never flashed my pda before. My eyes burned from reading the forums for 4 days now. Basicaly what my problem is:
I've downloaded the RUU and I run it on my Pc (XP, Active Synk 4.5), connect the pda and when the device goes in to bootloader the active sync looses connection, so the RUU doesnt show my current rom version. The active synk is disconnected all the time. I press update, the progress bar shows on Pc and Pda, it goes to 1%, it stops giving me invalid vender id error and restarts PDA. I tried a different approach - i run the RUU, and on the page where is says "make sure that the active sync is connected" I connect the Pda. Active sync is connected then and I go to the update page and now it shows my rom version. I click update and the screen of the Pda goes dark, and in a while I get the connection error. I'm I doing something wrong?
I red almost everything several times, and I cant do it. I feel like a dumbass Can someone tell me if it's possible that my device is CidLocked, because the OS is in English, and when I go to the HTC e-club cite, it allows me only to download German version ROM? Do I have to try to CID unlock using AUTO_Unlock_v3a.bat and install HARDSPL7 before installing that ROM? Will I be able to install official ROM's if I do?
Thanks to all the addicts that will help. I promisse to learn fast!

HTC support
I also wrote to HTC online support - they haven't replied for several days now. Some support...

Hello, correct you do need to learn a bit more before proceding down this avenue im afraid From what ive read definatly DO NOT attempt to CID unlock the device....there is no need anyway.
First give us the following information:
What brand of Hermes do you have? Orange, Tmobile etc...
What language is the device in??
Where are you running the device??
What do you want to do??
You ARE a noobie....but thats not a bad thing....we all were at one stage so the best thing you can do is to give us that information and I will attempt to point you in the right direction.

Hello MrVanx
Hi MrVanx,
my admirations, I know I'm talking to a guru here, I red many of your guides. I can not say I understood much, but got a basic picture of things.
I will not attempt to CID Unlock the device as you suggested.
I think the PDA is genuine HTC TyTN. On the front side its only written HTC, behind the battery HERM200. I will upload an image, so you can see for yourself. The device is in English, but when I log in to HTC e-club, the only available rom for me is German. Maybe the PDA is imported in Bulgaria from Germany.
I'm using the Pda in Bulgaria (East Europe), the carrier is Globul.
What I want to do with the device is to upgrade it to a newer version of windows. I would like also to try some of the cooked roms but I don't feel quite so confident in my flashing skills - I actualy think I don't have any skills yet I really like the black today screen of LVSW WM6, can this be better for me than the official HTC WM6 ROM? Will I be able to upgrade to HTC WM6 official ROM and if I don't like it to go to LVSW?
Thanks for helping MrVanx. I couldn't think of a more appropriate person.

I Have screwed my MDA!

I bought a MDA2 off ebay and it said in the ad it had WM2005 on it, i figured it was a typo so i went ahead and bought it. ANyway i got the MDA and it has WM2005! The main reason i bought it was to run tomtom navigator 5, now i managed to install it but the backlight refuses to work. I just want to know where i can download the original rom from as i dont want WM2005 because its not designed for the phone....
Tried to be clever and i downloaded a rom from the o2 website and tried to reflash the phone with that rom, it came up with some error message and it totally crapped out my mda. My mda is now on a dark screen that says serial v1.02 and when i put it in the cradle it changes to USB v1.02. Tried running different roms but its not accepting any. Activesync is not picking the device up anymore...
can anyone help?
OK so you want an official rom?
1) What is the HTC anme for an MDA2?
2) What carrier are you currently on?
i dont mind what rom it is...as long as it works. Carrier? I am on the o2 network if that helps. HTC anme? I have no idea what that means. If you could tell me how i can get this info for you i will
oh crap, spelling mistake on my end, i meant HTC name
also i forgot, what country are you using the phone in?
Well its a T-Mobile MDA (what it says on the device itself but i beleive its the same as an XDA2). I am in England and i am on the o2 network.
looks exactly like this

Do you mind having a non-official rom?
I dont mind at all, anything that makes it work.
ok, try hard resetting your phone, it should boot back into WM5, you will then need to download a wm2003 rom (check the WIKI for options and choose one) and install that (again the wiki should hold all the information you need)
( i didnt tell you this in the first place because i was looking to find an official o2 uk rom, however you need to give them your imei, and o2 phone number to do that, somthing i dont have )

Ok firstly, hard reset (holding power whilst placing stylus in reset hole) is the first thing i tried, its not having non of it. Just shows USB v1.02. I was able to download the rom from the o2 website by giving my IMEI of this tmobile phone (how? i dont know). There was an error durin the installation which caused my mda to crap out. Its not going past that screen at all.
during the install? as in while it was actually copying the rom?
yup m8, as it was getting transferred over
k, this hapened to me earlier todday as it happens (i was testing ivans new rom)
the reason it was caused is that the operator ID is set wrong, to fix this follow these instructions:
go to "c:\documents and settings\your_username\local settings\temp" and delete everything there.
run the origional o2 upgrade DONT PRESS NEXT OR ANYTHING, JUST START IT.
go back to "c:\documents and settings\your_username\local settings\temp"
there should be a new folder created, copy this to a tempory location.
extract the contents of this attached zip file into that copied directory.
double click on setoperator.bat
run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe in that folder to put your phone back to the wm2003 os.
if this doesn't work then i'm stumped, sorry
when i run the o2 upgrade it just shows a plf183.tmp file, no folders... ill try afew more things
ok this is what i am getting...
http://www.killerinstinct.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/xdaerror.jpg
ok maybe the password was wrong for the file
does anyone know what version of himaupgradeut the latest o2 uk update uses? then i can get the right password
i dont mind using any ROM as long as its WM2003
try the same method as above, but with these files:

ASUS P535, call history doesn't work, Flashed twice...

hi all!
First of all a big thanks to all of you who made it possible to flash those ROMs, my phone is so much better in english
However, ever since I updated it first time (french to english) with wm5 v4.3.15, I lost my call history. I tried a lot of stuff, nothing worked, I even reflashed with another ROM TH and MS, nothing changed.
I the let as if I had forgotten about it and told myself that "when wm6 comes out, everything will be good again"...
well, wm6 DID come out, but it DIDN'T change my problem...
so here I am, I'm a newbee and all, yet I do know how to search a forum before posting, and so I've done. I haven't found anything, and am yet to find someone with the same problem.
Can someone give me a hint, idea, anything? It's kind of annoying not having the call history... Well I do have it, it's just that it doesn't show a number or name, just unknown ever time.
I'm having the same probleme on French and Suisse networks, my provider is SFR.
Thanks in advance!

Do you mean that in the dialer the call history is empty?
On te contrary on mine (Thai ver WWE WM6) the history comes up as pulldown.
Have you hard reseted the P535 after the flashing?
What do you get on the Version/system information /system/settings /start(reverse order from above)?
Have you done the radio upgrade as well? See the SAUS site.
Did you make any backup (for ex with SPB Backup)? If yes, that's why you don't have it. With a ROM upgrade, or HR the device is revert back to factory default - so you must have call history.
Guys, first of all thanks for replying!
The only numbers iI do see in the call history are numbers I've called. The same happens when I have an incoming call, I never see a number or name of the person calling. I've tried taking a screenshot so that you can see what I mean

The version saysV4.7.12 WWE_AU00
Radio version is V.4.7.0
I did in fact make a SPB backup with the first update, you think that can be why? Is there any way to restore it???
Thanks again guys!
So I just updated the radio version to V4.8.0 - It didn't chane a thing.
I deleted all calls in the call history too, just to try, but no change
Nobody who can point me in the right direction? Please?

Official WM6 ROM for AT&T has been posted

Go here to get it
http://download.america.htc.com/RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_3.62.502.3_6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship.exe
Or Rapid share if you prefer
http://rapidshare.com/files/6639371..._6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship.exe.html
Are you sure? ROM version on the web site is the WM5, and the file it downloads shows to be WM5.
The ROM date is 10/11/2007 and the Radio is 1.54. I've downloaded the ROM but I can't install because I don't have an 8525 anymore.
Here's the file I downloaded RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_3.62.502.3_6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship.exe

Great catch
Thanks for the link. It seems that AT&T is duing this under some duress. The blurb on the site makes it clear that this is WM6, and also encourages hoarding! Here is the text before it goes away:
"Welcome to the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the AT&T 8525. Please review the following prior to downloading and installing the ROM update on your device:
* This ROM is available from November 1, 2007 to February 1, 2008. After this date, the ROM will be removed from the website and will no longer be available for distribution.
* This ROM update is intended for the AT&T 8525 only and users should not load or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/damage.
* At this time, Good Mobile Messaging is not supported on the AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. It is recommended that Good Mobile Messaging users not upgrade their device’s firmware at this time. Please note that once the latest firmware has been loaded, it can not be undone.
* HTC strongly suggests that users create a back up copy of this ROM and keep it in a secure place as all new and refurbished 8525 devices (including those received via Warranty Exchange) will come loaded with Windows Mobile 5 rather than Windows Mobile 6. "
Store it while it lasts.

Ok...uploading to rapishare...give it approx. 20 minutes then I'll post a link
This seems to be a good link to the NEW rom.
http://download.america.htc.com/RUU...502.3_6275_1.54.07.00_108_UOOS_SVN05_Ship.exe
plz i will ask again can i update it with my jasjam>
cause they say no
I just extracted the file, and this damn thing is about 90 megs, does that sound right?
I'm noticing on my desktop the software download page is taking me to the old rom for some reason. I use the same link on my laptop and I get the WM6 download page. Anyhow, the link I provided above should get ya the right rom regardless if you are having the problem I am.
I've got a link to rapishare on the 1st page now
why cant you tell me?

Well, I don't answer questions I don't know the answer to. Sorry.
I downloaded for warranty's sake only (I am quite happy with vp3G's fine, fine work), but it's really there.
Sad thing is, at&t's craptastic handling of the WM6 release was so threaputic, such a nice outlet for my normally bottled rage... I really don't know what to do now.
I know this sounds kinda stupid.... I've been around here for a while and I should know this...
Will this shipped update change my SPL? I'm HardSPLv7...

Flashing for Dummies(N00bPROOF)Incomplete

ONLY FOR HTC DIAMOND(VICTOR)
Ok .. , Something i thought this forum needs
Step 1 - Which Diamond have you bought ?
Is it the one with 3G or Not .., In most cases you would probably have an 3G enabled version however countries like India etc .. have the 2G version officially on sale ..
Step2 - Why should i FLASH ?
Flashing an new ROM would give your diamond's performance an significant boost but however it does have its short comings as it may not be perfect and in case of warranty you would have to restore to your original ROM ..
Step 3 - Ok .., Flashing ? Now you got to decide which ROM to flash
As i previously mentioned all ROM's have their short comings so decide carefully on which one you want to flash .. (Don't Create a seperate thread asking which one to flash because every one has his/her personal preference)
Step 4 - ROM decided ? .. Ok time to back it all up
Use ACTIVE SYNC on Windows XP or Windows mobile device center on Vista to back up all your data ..
NOTE - Flashing would result in loss of Data on your internal storage (NOT THE 4 GB ONE ) which includes messages , contacts , applications etc ..
Step 5 Prepare your PC
Turn off Hibernation , Standby , and other things that could lead to shutting down of pc ..Make sure Active Sync is installed on Windows XP .., if not download here ..Also if by any chance your area gets frequent electrictiy cuts you are better of using an backup source as disconnection while flashing may result in permanent damage..
Step 5 - Preparing the DIAMOND ...
Make sure the battery is around 75% (50% MIN)charged and connect the diamond to your PC .. Choose Active Sync on your Diamond (Selected in image below)and wait for the Active Sync to pair with it .. , Once you get the GREEN active sync icon on your start up (Bottom Right ).. You are ready to go ..

Active Sync icon >(2nd from right)
Step 6 - Which Hard - SPL for me ...
Ok .. ,one last decision you have to make .. which SPL to choose .. ,you can either go for the DEVELOPER EDITION which would allow you to install any ROM (Less Safer) or you could go for SIGNED edition which only allow for flashing ROM's approved by the experienced members here ..but this won't allow you to flash RADIO on your device ..
NOTE - If you HAVE a 2G DIAMOND you have only 1 option that is to install DEVELOPER EDITION AS YOU NEED TO FLASH THE RADIO TOO
Step 7 -
Note i will finish the tutorial tomorrow as i have some important work to finsh
Great tutorial espesially for me and people who have Victor 3702. I will be waiting for it's completion. I think i will not be able to use signed SPL, because i have Victor from Taiwan and as i understand it's not in the list of digned ROMs.
THanks anyway!
great tutorial,can't wait to finish.
thx
thanks
for the great tutorial,....waiting for the rest.....really helps a "dummy" like me!!!!
much respect!!!
Good idea, but I would rather call that thread spamming.
There are already a LOT of flashing tutos on xda, even in the diam dev thread.
Why make YET another one?
IF you want to contribute, wiki's the place.
great idea !!! i`ll be waiting for more instructions.
by the way, i used to see that screen , but i don`t get it anymore, although i didn`t choose the "don`t ask again" option... is this ok?

this is not my main phone and i'm using it to test WP7 , I never used anything on it except Zune ...
I downloaded "I8700_WP7_Downloader_Ver_7.03_For_Retail_Device__Product_Force_Select__.exe" and some roms to overwrite phone content
this software detects the phone correctly but cannot copy Roms on it , it says "this device is not retail device"
If someone got a solution how to dump its memory and completely erase it , in order to flash it with some of the ROMs that I have or any other exit to this situation.
Thank you !
I'm guessing the fact you're here, and not servicing it through your carrier/retailer, means you're not being completely honest. I suspect you were playing with various flashing tools and bricked your device.

I don't think it will dump the rom. It says 'dump ram'. So the contents of the ram will be dumped for devs to see what caused the exception.

Lol, no i didn't use any flashing tool yet. I only tried without success like described in my thread.
do someone have a tool to help me passing through this step ?
Thanks
This is what I understand:
Network operators can customize the CSC part of the firmware. They can put in their logo's, but they can also flag it to be locked. In that case only roms from the same network operator can be flashed.
So far, only a few Samsung roms have leaked. Look here (needs free registration) and here. Only one of those roms is branded. It is branded by T-Mobile, but they did not lock their rom. So I guess your operator is not T-Mobile. You have to wait until a rom leaks, which was branded by your network-operator.
