flash a lite rom and only add what you need. Some of the superstorage roms start at around 80MB before you add programs

Thanks Venlar!

Memory

Is there a possibility of using SD card memory for running programs? i write aprogram that need about 20MB of memory for work, but i cannot get enough free program memory....
Any idea?
Thx
Too much memory
I am doing the same, but my program needs about 5MB. I only can think in working directly with Windows CE source code and possibly you will have to remove some DLLs.
Remeber, with the optimized ROM from XDA-devs you can get about 5MB of memory free in ROM. Have you got some idea for getting some more free space, but not as many as you want?

RAM allocation

I'm asking you all WM5 geeks: is there a way to change the memory allocation in WM5? In my prev PPC 2002 I could dedicate more RAM to apps running, but I learned Tynt has no such feature. I also read about the ROM unlocker but I think it's not what I'm looking for since it frees up memory for installing programs.
I would like to move all the installs to the miniSD and I don't care how many apps I can run wothout miniSD... I wish only to have from 10 to 30 MB more memory at expence of internal storage quote.
Is there a trick to perform?
default all 128MB are application memory on wm2005
ppl use the ramdisk at buzzdev to make some of that application memory into storage
if you are using a ramdisk you can use a smaller one you can find them at buzzdev

Confused: Clarify Free storage

I am looking thru some roms, and whatever ... i see some that have storage and programs free space. This is just one, the last one i looked at before having had anough of the confusion.
Here is what the rom lists
Free Storage: 224.62
Free Program: 70.83 (Manila Running) 78.06 (Titanium Running)
Total storage on my tilt 2 is 225.93 !!!!!! This doesnt make much sense to me. If i install that rom, i will have all of my internal storage free??????????????????
And my program used will be about tha same as i have now??? Well, with a reboot first
The storage (FLASH) of TP2 (and Tilt2 as well, I guess) is 512MB, what you see is what left after the system/being available for programs you would install in so called "internal memory".
Same for program (RAM) - the total is 256MB (plus 32MB for radio section) and what you see (70MB etc.) is a free memory for programs you would run.
More is better, of course, but who cares on "internal memory" when one can fit a card with 32GB of capacity...?
A free RAM is an issue however, so please judge on it rather when choosing a system to install ;-)

[Q] Missing bitmap bootmenu_bgk (Code-3)

Can someone tell me what this means? Also for some reason I can't install certain apps, such as firefox, even though it states that I have about 600 mb of free space?

It would help if you give out more information, like how and where do you get this message.
And about the problem with installing Apps, I think the 600MB of free space you are seeing are of your Micro SD Card because the Xperia Play only has around 400MB of Internal Storage.

I see this mesage when I enter cwm. I'm using x elite gamer and xtreme kernel.
The 600 mb should be from the internal storage (I think its a custom partition) because I have a 32 gb sd card and it does have many things on it.

External SD as system partition???

So, what I am looking for is information on the possibility of making your external sd into a system partition so when you see your free space, is not just showing a bit over a hundred MB, but all the free space on the sd card also.
Is this possible?

I believe that it is possible, if you write yourself firmware.
In the meantime, please refer to the Android HTC - Hacking explained
