How do I remove program bar from bottom of a screen? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi,
I thought it's launched by some program in StartUp folder but I deleted "Launcher" out of it but I still see that bar on bottom of my screen (with CommManager icon). How can I delete it? I cooked my ROM using Pandora's kitchen.
Thanks,
G

Try "dciNoBar" you can find here or just google it, it's an exe file just copy to startup folder in windows and SR and no more bottom bar. Hope this helps.

An application call wisbar is very good and helps in customizing as well

use schaps advanced config tool and disable the wireless icon.

dciNoBar hide the bottom Bar not Tray bar. The Cab makes a Shortcut in Startup.

I need to disable tray bar not bottom Bar. How do I do that. The bar I'm talking about is on bottom part of a screen on top of bar which shows functions for keys (contacts and calendar). How do I remove it?

i have been searching for a solution a while ago for the same problem: disabling the tray bar. the tray bar becomes visible one one app makes use of it.
all the different solutions i have found made my device instable or made the device react in a strange way.
my workaround is to avoid icons in the tray bar. the tray bar is still there but invisible as long as no other icon appears.
i konw of three icons which you can rid of:
- comm manager (use schaps advanced config tool)
- battery (dito)
- vibrate button (delete the lnk-file of the stratup folder and replace the app with "vibra switch")

Remove the Battery Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Power]
"ShowIcon"=dword:00000000
Remove the Wireless Manager Icon:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000

I had no idea it's so difficult to get rid of that bar. It was not like that on my Wizard, I only deleted single StartUp executable and never saw bar again. Anybody has any suggestion how to permamently delete that bar?

yea i came from a wizard too it was easy but i only had those two in the bar anyways so for screen cap and all that idunno its probably the app check the settings but other than that i dunno

Remove task bar and icon
You can use Advanced Configuration Tool.
With this utility you can edit a lot of settings.
When you launch the program on Apparence tab remove the flags
on battery icon and wireless save and exit.
Make a soft-reset. The task bar is only show when you connect the device with usb cable or bluetooth active sync.
I hope to have been usefully to you

Possible Solution
Search for 'Clear Today Screen' cab. (I think it is in the Pandora 6 Naked thread) Note that to uninstall you will have to first delete the VijayToggle link in Startup, soft reset, then delete the program in Programs folder.

Have a look at the attached ZIP file; it's got loads of .lnk files (shortcuts) to all/most of the Control Panel type applets. There's a memory one in there that should do the trick.
Mark.
Cheers
Worked a treat
maybe dumb question but...
Where do I have to put the icons in order to use one of them?
Do I have to create registry in order to get a Screen icon on the try??

I was gonna ask the same thing. What folder do the .lnk files go in to have the shortcut show in the tray?
EDIT: Found this app that does the trick called "PHM Traylaunch".
I just put the control panel folder in program files went into battery status>tray launch then navigated to the programs>control panel and chose the shortcut i wanted and then tapped add.
hope it helps

Notification Bar

I haven't seen this anywhere else on this forum, but is anyone else frustrated by the notification bar (top of screen) on the TP2?
On my kaiser I was used to being able to tap on each icon to take me directly into the relevant screen (e.g. Mail, calendar appointment, battery status, volume control or connections screen).
On the TP2 every icon just takes you into 'Notifications' and then you have to click again to go into mail or appointments, but there is no way to the battery, volume control or connections.
Is there any way of restoring the previous functionality of this bar?
Also - (unconnected) anyone know how to change the text colour on the Today screen?
Cheers,
Yup.... asking same question myself.
Get a registry editor, and find the key HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\Flags. It should be 0 by default - change it to 4. This stops the HTC notification manager running and restores the default WM functionality.

Works great. Thank you.
*edit* After hours of trying to find out why my text alerts (custom only) wouldn't ring. I changed the value back to "0" and my text alerts worked again. When I used the HTC stock text tones it would work, but not my custom ones. The phones ringtones and custom ringtones worked fine. Any ideas what would have caused the custom text tones not to work with this registry change?

If you are still having this problem, post the ROM version and the registry editor you are using and I can try to help you make the change to your registry key.
Thanks for the response
Rom version is: 1.19.61.3 (51489) WWE This is the standard Orange uk rom
For the registry editor i am using either Schaps registry editor on the phone or Mobile registry editor by Breaksoft on my pc.
Thanks in advance.
If you install the Topaz Notification Manager it gives you the battery status & an icon that'll bring you to the battery options.

Sorry, I am not familiar with that ROM. You can try using a different registry editor or just use the Topaz Notification Manager like xnifex suggested.

Add Power to Start menu

With the original notification bar it's hard to go to the power options.
You can't click on the battery icon.
(I know, I can change back to the old notification bar, but that introduces other problems... )
So I was wondering how I could get the power option in my Start Menu.
Because you can only add Programs, not something from the Settings Page.
Install the Topaz Notification Manager, it works for me very well
You can create a shortcut to Powerexe.exe in the Windows folder, and add that shortcut to the Startmenu folder. After that, you can add power to the TFlo3D start menu page.
Fantastic been wondering how to do this thanks.

I don't know if this is different for the Touch Pro 2, but my Touch Diamond only brings up the battery level when "powerexe.exe" is run from within the "Windows" folder. Is there a different powerexe file somewhere else?
It's one and the same.
I'm using TouchOff, besides shutting down the TP2, it can also switch off the screen and perform soft resets. Just use the search function, and you'll find!

Hide WM 6.5 Taskbar

Is there a tweak or a software to hide one or both bars (bottom & top) in winrows mobile 6.5?
The following cabs remove the topbar (operator logo) & bottom bar (TF3D tabs). It is advisable to install sdkcerts first.
EDIT
I have no cabs to remove top bar (startmenu/taskmanager) and bottom bar (soft keys)
[QUESTION] How to make taskbars transparent?
Hi,
Recently, I was wondering, how to change taskbars (upper and down windows, wich are black and Manila's tap-bar) to transparent? Right now I have my wallpaper in hi-res (480x800px), and only taskbars disturbs my HD look-and-feel
On screens:
1 and 2 visual of my HD screen.
3rd screen I've lent from MaxTTm's thread, to show wich bars am I talking here about... I mean number 5 (Manila tapbar), 10 and 11.
What I want:
5 and 10 could be 100% transparent
11 could be 65% transparrent.
Could Anybody make cab's with these settings for me? I would appraciate that.
Thanx in advance....
My screens:
I'm affraid that is not possible in WM6.1, but a feature in WM6.5.

I'm using ROM based on WM 6.5 (like in my signature, or secound screen shows that). So I think it is possible...
2nd screen shows, that top and bottom bars are a little bit transparent... I just would like them to be (top) 100% and (bottom) 65%...
THX for reply...
mmm
not possible in 6.1 ? what makes it possible in 6.5? a reg hack ? as this is only software and there is no physical change betwen .5 and .1

On my previous ROM (EnergyROM), I had MaxTTm installed and there is an option, wich allows You to change transparency of top, bottom and Manila tap-bar... Maby person, who developed MaxTTm can say something about that...

Question: could You please attach some screens, how does it look after cab's install?? I'm wondering, is this the thing, that I'm having on my mind...
EDIT

Ok, I'm your first tester if you release a cab. ;-) Just let me know.

PS. I don't think, that merging my thread with this was good idea - I'm having other issue than x0a... But if forum rules are strict in this case, I can't do anything about it
for those of you interested in hiding the bottom bar:
if have started a new thread here in the development section as i found the source code of dcinobar on the author's website. maybe someone can use this and create a new program
