Hi all, I've had my Desire since they 1st came out, so about a year and a half now.. Had the same rom on there for about 10 months..
Last night I was sat at my desk and the phone just slides out of my pocket onto the floor, no big deal and it's not a big drop at all, I pick it up and go to turn wifi off and the phone just turns itself off, I try turning it back on and it stays on the pink logo for ages.. about 5 minutes before it reaches the lock screen but I cannot go any further because the touchscreen is no longer working.
The charge light doesnt come on, the battery icon is red all the time and the big battery appears on the screen saying please plug in charger, if the charger isn't plugged in then the phone just turns itself off.. Battery is 100% full and I even charged it on my partners desire and also tried her battery but it's the same.
I can access the bootloader but I cannot select anything as when i press any button the screen just turns off, and when i press any button again it comes back on. The phone will stay running in bootloader mode from the battery for hours and hours so maybe this could help pinpoint where the issue is as when the phone is on the lock screen it claims the battery is dead when it clearly isn't.
The phone still has reception and even H is connected still but I can't do anything at all.
I'm hoping somebody will recognize these symptoms so I can perhaps buy the correct part to fix this.. I'm pretty sure the fault is not the screen.
I have the phone layed on my desk now, I've stripped everything away and just left the screen and board, attached battery.. Same issue.. Detached screen and plugged in charger with battery attached, no charging light..
Just made a call for 45 mins on lumia 900 which I got from ATT today (data connection problem has already been fixed), the screen turned to be black and cannot get back to the normal state with any effort on pushing the buttons.
Thought the battery might be drained, so connected the charger, wired things happened again: the question marker showed on the battery and the screen was frozen. Waiting for 10 more mins, the question marker was still there and no more actions could be done on the screen.
Press on the start button for 10 seconds to restart it without sliding the screen to power off (since the screen was frozen), finally it got back to work. Checked the battery was 45%, so it was not drained.
Maybe another problem Nokia need to fix......

800 also suffered similar problems. So does my woman's Focus S. An update did indeed fix it.
Yesterday my phone didn't manage to boot in Cyanogen mod 10.1, it showed the logo then froze..
After a while the screen went black, and the battery was nearly at 0% so i don't know the correct motivation for the turn off, if it was due to the reboot since cm wasn't loading or just no juice in the battery.
No it doesn't turn on no matter how many seconds I keep the switch on button.
Can't even get to bootloader or HTC white screen.
Connected to a PC it doesn't show up (neither as APC). The red light doesn't turn on.
I don't know if it is charging, but as it stay connected to the plug it became warm as if it were charging.
Said that it is no more under warranty (bought in China, now i'm in Italy) how would cost a repair? Is it convenient or just buy a Nexus 4 and say goodbye to my HTC?
Best regards!!
Connect your phone to a wall charger for a few hours and then hold down the Power Button + Volume Down button together until the bootloader shows up!
If you can go there, you can revive your HOX!
Repairing or buying a new N4 is completely your choice. If it is indeed a hardware fault and the motherboard needs to be replaced, it could be quite expensive!
Hey everyone,
I was using facebook while my G3 was charging and it suddenly turned off and since then it's not turning on. I've tried everything I could but unfortunately nothing has helped. There is no display and it seems like my phone is dead. A positive note is, when I put it on charge, display comes for just 2-3 seconds and it shows the phone is charging but then it disappears too and nothing happens. One of the repairman suggests that it's motherboard is not working anymore but to this I disagree cause if that was the case, the phone won't show a display even for a second? Please if anyone could help me. Thanks!
DId you try leaving the phone on a charger for a few hours? Maybe the phone needs a new battery?
Yeah I've tried 3-4 new batteries too, still it doesn't work. But one thing that's happening now is my phone is turning on, but it reboots (or turns off sometimes) when reaches the home screen or just before that. Same is happening when I enter into download mode.
I just replaced the screen and touch of my phone, and also the battery, and I'm having trouble with the touchscreen when turning the screen on. It takes about 10 to 12 seconds to get a response since I turn it on and it moves. After that, it works GREAT, until you turn off the screen again. Then it goes all around again.
The dude told me that the battery had some lithium leakage, but didn't know if the phone was affected or not.
Any ideas? Could it be from the leakage? or maybe a faulty touch/screen? Or incompatibility since it's not the ORIGINAL screen?
Hi Friend, has the same problem here, went back to repair shop and they changed my screen with a new one (warranty), now it's working perfectly.
