HI Guys I have just got my self an XDA11s from a frend who's gone missing he gave me the wall charger and no usb cradle
Im trying to do the bootloader thing but can I do it without a usb cradle since u've recomended I use it and disable active synch :?:
please frens give me some tips as to how I could accomplish this task
Thankx Heeps
you need a cradle, otherwise you cannot connect to pc/laptop.
what exactly are you trying to do with the bootloader???
sounds like you are trying to upgrade the rom, maybe not, but if you want to put anythinf on your device, then you need that usb cradle.
you can buy them online.
Don't buy the USB cradle until you have looked here

This is the the bees knees, charges and connects to your PC thru USB.
i assume you have seen the unlocker here?
I have used it on my XDAiiS and it worked like a dream
It can be found in the Developers forum, just search for UNLOCK
Thanks for the reply GUys :!: :!:
Hey Thanks for da reply Jojo & Aphuk :!: I will check out that site.
Hi !
I have the following Problem.
Charging via USB is working and also the headest, but icannot sync via usb or do anything else.
What can i do ?? Wheres the Problem ?
Question; Are you using a charger in the car?
Yes the original T-Mobile charger
Well I guess that must be the bad guy.. do you plug your phone in the charger before turning on the engine? That causes higher voltage peaks which can damage the USB-circuit.
Since your using the original charger supplied you should send your device in for repair.
OK, thanks for your answers.
What's the good way for charging the device in a car?
Thanks
The safest thing to do is to start the engine before plugging in your device.
Here is another thread about current overflow with the Tmobile car charger: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1686041&postcount=10
RE-INSTALL
Try re-installing active stink on your main computer.
Maybe that will sort it.
Hi i've the same problem. When the phone is turned on in the bootloader it doesn't say anything on the left bottom of the screen (normaly there was standing something like "USB"). and now its blank? ActiceSync isn't working eather and WM5 storage doesn't work. I only use the original USB cable and charger from the phone. when i plug in the usb it starts charging. but no usb connection.
Please help?
same problem as above, same as my Artemis, blown USB board. If its still under a year old send it for repair. Mine is over a year old now, so i cant get it fixed (unless i pay)
I just called T-Mobile Dutch, they will send him on repear. this is my second mdac3 in one year that needed to be send on repear. I hate it when i need to mis my telephone. hopefully when it comes back from repair it's fixed.
So if you got the same problem that USB is not working, you need to send it on repair. because you can do nothing about it
(fixes typefaults)

yes the correct way is u start the engine then plug ANY ADDITIONAL instrument so that the output of the power outlet in your car will be from the dynamic distributor and not from the battery directly!!
I have the same problem-can't connect via Usb anymore.does anyone know how much the repair will cost?My Orbit is out of warranty.Or is there any other workaround fo the problem?

Hi Guys n Gals,
Please help me!
Basically just got a HTC Universal locked on T-Mobile UK, which I bought 2nd/3rd hand.
Got it quite cheap and love it! Only problem is I want to unlock it and use on O2. However, whenever I attach USB cable to phone and laptop/PC message comes up saying USB Device not recognised!!! It is really frustrating!!!!
Tried all variations e.g. diferent PCs, cables etc to no avail. My HTC Artemis connectes just phone on any computer!!!
Basically all I want to know is that can I unlock it without being able to activesync to it?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Help as I am running out of options. Have hard reset phone to solve USB issue bt nuttin! Tok it to phone shop to get repaired but they said they could not USB to it either and can't unlock it!

Two possibilities,
1 You dont have activesync installed on the PC (activesync drivers are required to communicate with device or you use Vista which requires driver downgrade (instructions in the Wiki))
2 Your USB port is damaged and requires resoldering to attach the correct pins (simply job to do, cheap repair, instructions are on the forum/Wiki)
Cheers,
Beasty
Thanks beast0898 for your suggestions. I use Win XP.
I suggest it is the USB port that needs repair as tried many PCs all with activesync latest version installed still same response.
Ill try the soldering now. Hope there is some pics and stuff to help me out!

The job is a very simple one to do yourself, the connector can easily become loose if your are not gentle when inserting cables. When you open the Uni up, you will see how easy it is sir. There are companies in the UK that will do it for you for around £40 with a new connector, if you're not happy doing it yourself.
Cheers,
Beasty
i just received my friend's old t-mobile dash after he got his g1.
it will be my first windows mobile device so i am pretty excited
unfortunately, all he gave me was the phone+battery. i tried turning it on but with no success.
i don't own a mini usb to usb cable (i must be the only one in the world) so i can't test if i can charge via such a cable.

Just one more shot, go to active sync/windows mobile device center and see if you have "enable usb connections" box checked? that's in archive>connection settings
Its possible its a faulty wire. My mom and I had regular USB, and they were horrible. We got docs for them and they sync alot better.

Bruv, I have your same phone (made in taiwan) HTC s621 and I don't use the original USB cable, I use a motorola cable...I even used sometimes a digital camera phone usb cable (since some of them are standard) and sync everytime with no issue at all. Try what I posted before, if not reinstall activesync in your PC.
