right, i want a dual sim adaptor for my artemis. i'm going to use the 2nd one for GPRS only.
Can anyone vouch for an adaptor that'll let me stick 2 sims in it and not mess with the battery life? ideally i'd like to switch sims via an app, but i can handle switching via com manager...flight mode.
any personal recommendations?
there re something called double card .. but u must use only one sim per time.. and the application to convert between the two sims is inside the windows "STK"
You need an analog SIM adapter, I'm using one of those. The digital versions consume more power. The difference is that the analog switches from one card to the next by switching the phone on and off or on our nice pda phone by going to flight mode and back. The digital cards use the sim tool kit menu, so no need to switch anything on and off.
Up to now I haven't heard of any programs that can switch the cards for the digital cards but I have one for my analog card, it's called Flight Mode and has a plane symbol. Do not use Toosten Flight mode, that won't switch back from flight mode. I think it was this one: http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=1161
I use Hbutton for Flight mode. I have three apps on one button, I press it for the first app or hold it until it vibrates once for the next app or twice for Flight mode. This way I don't switch accidentially, instead I have to hold the button for a second.
Hi!
I'm new in this forum, and I'm interested in use a dual sim adaptor in my artemis.
Can you help me?
Which one have you tested?
Where can I buy one?
Works with every company?
Thanks a lot!

HOW DO I TURN OFF MY PHONE!!!!. i need to turn the power off completely so i can prompt my dual sim to change to the other sim.
when i press the power but it seems to do 3 things
turn the backlight off
turn the backlight on
turns the phone off but in standby mode (ie as soon as i touch another button it comes on again)
If I do a soft reset while the phone is in this standby mode sometimes it will change the sim but most of the time it won’t
Uhm, just a quick thought:
What about turning on and off flight mode (which normaly disables the phone part)?
HTH,
BGK
cheers mate that seems to work!!! it one of those y didn't i think of that moments.
now i can start cutting up my sim cards to fit in this device
i was wondering if it was possibloe to switch of and on flight mode using a button. couldnt find this option. the significance of this is that those who have dual sims can switch between networks easily. i know there are today profile manager avilbale like phonealarm and zenphone but i dont see a point using them as they just clogg up my today screen. im just trying to keep as little aplications on there as needed. someday ill get myself to remove pocktplus if i can find a good close program. ive tried magic button and battery pack both are no where close.
I use tel-on-off.exe from www.freecabs.de, a very small util. I bound it to a hardware button using AEBPLus, found on this forum. When I now press the calendar button twice, the phone radio shuts down and I go into flightmode. Pressing twice again reactivates the phone and shuts flight mode down.
You can also find a flight mode switcher on the site of Crino, who made Call SMS Blocker. You can find that thread with his homepage link on this forum.
That link doesn't seem to be working, try this one! http://www.inntalinfo.de/apboard/useraction.php?action=get_upload&id=252
thanks found tel.on-off.aebplus caused a mess with my phone last time so not installing that. another question i have is..
how do i display on today screen which operator is being used at present. (i.e. when i switch from orange to o2 it should show me on screen in big leeters)
Use pocketzen. gives u a lot of functionality

I'm trying out a T-Mobile Dash as a replacement for my MDA, which did not survive a ride on the top of the car. Some things have me really confused:
1. Is there a way to get to the voicedial feature in less than 11 keypresses? Is there a way to put it on the quicklist? (The MDA had a button.)
2. After some period of time, selecting the voicedial feature through the start menu only returns me to the today screen. I have to power off and power on the device to get it to work again.
3. I have assigned a speed dial number to voicedial, so in theory one keypress could get me there. But it too returns me to the today screen; I'm guessing the problem here is whatever is going on with #2.
4. Is there a way to reorder the icons in the start menu so that things I use would be on the first page?
5. Is there a way for a bluetooth headset to call up the voicedial feature?
6. Is there a source of further documentation on some of the features of the phone, like voicedial, speeddial, the port on the bottom, and so on. The T-mobile manual on the disk is pretty thin.
7. The manual skips the power button and talks about taking the battery out to soft-reset the device. But it looks like the power button does a soft-reset. Do they do separate things?
8. Is there a trick to dialing with the number keys I am missing? Sometimes, dialing the numbers pulls up contacts based on the 2-abc, 3-def convention, and sometimes it pulls up contacts based on 2-e, 3-r, etc convention. I can't figure out how to control that.
9. In Messaging, I've set the device to download headers only. When I see a message I want to read, I can toggle the message to download the body "next time you connect and receive e-mail." However, this only seems to work if you connect and receive e-mail while the message is open (that is, one by one). I don't seem to be able to select several messages to be downloaded and do them all at once.
10. If you miss a call, you get a missed-call icon on the top line. How can you clear this icon?
There are some things about this device that are way better than the MDA, like the "Internet Sharing" way of using it as a modem for a laptop.
Yes. RTFM. For VoiceDial hold the home key.
Everything you took the time to type is pretty much covered in the 'thin' manual...

Thanks for the response. Actually, I can't find this in the T-Mobile manual, and it doesn't work on my phone.
more tips
i have been using the smt5600 and have found that the charging cables from boxwave seem to work fine. what i can't seem to find anywhere is an adaptor from the mini usb to a 3.5mm audio plug for connectiong to travel speakers?
Hello all!
I am having a strange problem with my MDA III (Win Mobile 5). Some month ago I did not have a connection to the GSM network but only a plane symbol, where usually the antenna signal is.
I was not able to activate GSM, so I made a soft reset (I have to do the soft reset quite regulary because often my screen will not go on, when I push the power button).
After the soft reset everything worked fine and I forgot about this. But then four days ago I was entering a plane and tried to activate the flight mode by tipping the antenna icon. When doing so I only get an pop-up named phone with the name of the provider and the option to go to the settings. but no option to turn the flight mode on.
I tried every menu on the phone and was not able to find it. So I decided to update the ROM to Windows Mobile 6 using Helmi BA WM6. The update worked fine, but still I do not have the flight mode option. Quite strange, because I thought I will remove everything from the ROM with this update.
So if anybody has an hint or solution how to get the flight mode option, I would approciate it very!
Cant you just go into the coms manager in WM6 and click on the phone icon to turn it off?
You can just turn all the Radios off from there as well, wouldnt that do the job?
Hi,
I dropped my phone on the ground and now it wont turn on, I think the LCD screen its ok, but:
1. I can't turn on using power button.
2. Also doesn't work power button + down/up volume.
3. Emergency Off button (near to SIM card) - don't help.
4. After plug in to charger - only red LED flashes.
5. After connect to PC via USB - similar to 4. - led flashes and pc dont recognize my phone.
The best solution for me will be saving my photos etc. But I have no any idea how I can get from smartphone memory it. (I have no microSD card).
Thank You in advance.
Any idea? I need to get access to memory inside the smartphone....
Don't see an option I'm afraid. Except maybe go to a store and ask if they can save your data by taking the memory out and wire it up.

i assume that your battery disconnected from motherboard after hitting down and you should open the back cover of your phone and check the battery connection if steady
