Phone won't turn on after falling - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I dropped my phone on the ground and now it wont turn on, I think the LCD screen its ok, but:
1. I can't turn on using power button.
2. Also doesn't work power button + down/up volume.
3. Emergency Off button (near to SIM card) - don't help.
4. After plug in to charger - only red LED flashes.
5. After connect to PC via USB - similar to 4. - led flashes and pc dont recognize my phone.
The best solution for me will be saving my photos etc. But I have no any idea how I can get from smartphone memory it. (I have no microSD card).
Thank You in advance.

Any idea? I need to get access to memory inside the smartphone....

Don't see an option I'm afraid. Except maybe go to a store and ask if they can save your data by taking the memory out and wire it up.

i assume that your battery disconnected from motherboard after hitting down and you should open the back cover of your phone and check the battery connection if steady

Screen dead after PS3 charging attempt

Hey guys
a friend of mine tried to charge his TD from his PS3's USB port. Sadly, this has ment that the screen will now not work at all - completley dead. The phone however, does appear to be working properly but there is no way to confirm this (i.e. it will vibrate etc and make various sounds). It also doesn't seem to respond when plugged in to a PC's USB port.
I've tried a hard reset but this doesn't seem to do anything....
Any ideas?
I charge it off the PS3 all the time; it's only a standard-power USB port so it's not the problem, it's your phone.
Try the following:
- Remove the battery and drain residual power by holding the power button for a few seconds. Leave for a few minutes.
- Plug in to an AC power source, wait 30 seconds, and try turning it on.
- Try going into bootloader (hold vol. down on boot). If you get there, reflash a stock ROM (including radio) and try again.
- Do you feel the vibration on power up? If not, the screen is not the problem.
- If it is the screen, wait until you know it is turned on, then put light pressure in various places on and around the screen. If it flickers at any point, it's a hardware problem.
- If you really can't get anything done, you'll have to take it to a repair shop and get a diagnosis or call HTC / your provider / your insurer.
All the best

Desire broken?

Hi,
The screen of my Desire was broken. It goes on, but the screen stays black with a little green line on top of the screen.
So I thought to check the used LCD and order a new LCD and fix my Desire. I used some tutorials to disassemble the device. After reading the LCD part, I reassemble the phone to check if his working. The screen goes on like before, but the vibration after pushing the power button doesn't work. When I connect the device to my Windows PC the charge led goes on and Windows sees a device. I can't come on the SD card and HTC Sync doesn't see a device. Probably this comes because normal in the interface I must check the UMS option before the SD card comes in Windows.
How can I check my device is working so I can to order a new LCD. I'm afraid to order a new LCD, but the phone is already dead en so the money is wasted.
Kind regard.
are you sure you connect vibration motor correctly, it has two tiny contacts, they neeed to sit properly on motherboard, try to take out bottom part and check it

Can you say where that vibration part is located? I've uses this websites for the steps:

May be there is another way to connect the device to check it's working properly. The problem with USB is that 'charge only' the default is.
see pictures attached...
did you tick ASK ME in settings/connect to pc?
another way to check UMS- boot to recovery and try it there and you can test keys there but you need to borrow screen again

thanks. I can't see anything wrong with the vibration item. It looks there are no flat cable or contact that got loose.
I was running ICS Aplha / beta custom rom for two days. I think that like all other ROM's the user must tick the USB option to see the SD card device in Windows. At the moment Windows sees an android device, but nothing more that that.
Problem is that the screen is completly black. So thicking USB option or recovery mode is no option, I can't see anything.
it has tiny legs on the back of motor... i stretch them a bit
you can boot into recovery and do it blind but you need to know your recovery layout (some video or screenshot of you recovery will help) to toggle usb storage in recovery
to boot in recovery is easy vol down + power wait about 30 sec vol down then power and wait for recovery to boot, then follow you recovery layout
great, i'm in the recovery and with this image I've set the phone into USB-MS mode
After that I can see the phone and SD content in Windows. Is this enough evidence to get confidence for ordering a new LCD screen?
The vibration device looks ok. I can't see any connector or flat cable that can be get loose.
if usb working and you can live without vibrating phone go ahead... I bought new screen just under £25

sprint galaxy s II will not turn on no more

Hello to all yesterday, I tried to hook up a speaker system to the audio port on my phone to listen to music, and the screen fizzed up and turned purple. None of the buttons will work so after trying everything I just took out the battery. but since then the phone will not turn on( even after charging) when I press the power on button, the indication light (which usually turns blue while starting). just blinks purple and does nothing, not even a vibration. My question is where do I go from here, is the phone bricked? if so is it possible to get my pics, which I believe is on the phones internal memory not the sd card. any help info. is well appreciated.
thanks in advance
See if you can get into download mode. Power off completely. Then hold power button + volume down, then volume up to confirm. If you can try an Odin one click full restore no data

its sounds like hardware failure. if it is, no you cannot get anything from the phone, you need a whole new device
TheAtheistOtaku is right. Bight the bullet and get it replaced.

[Q] GNex won't power up, won't charge HELP (T-T)

my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Maguro and it wouldn't power up.
Here's what happened:
1. I think it started when i was transferring files from my phone to pc, then a notification came up in the PC (Windows XP) over voltage detected.
2. Charged it through the outlet
3. Next morning, battery drained but i was still able to start it up and get to the home screen for a couple of seconds.
4. then i accidentally entered fastboot, (volume + power buttons down), didn't even know what it was till now, i just selected the "START" then pressed the power button.
Info that might help:
1. charger is working, tried on other phone
2. when i connect it to the PC i get a notification "OMAP 4400" detected then tries to search for a driver
3. When it is connected it shows the lightning bolt, then the battery animation for a couple of seconds then its gone.
4. Removed the battery (i read that, that's how you get out of the fastboot mode)
Update:
Still able to get to the home screen a while ago. I still do not know if its the USB hardware or just the battery. will try another battery when my friend gets back.
Solved the problem:
checked the cable, and its more of a connection problem. used another USB-microUSB cable (not provided w/ the phone).
Hope it helps other people having the same problem.

Dead Z1C - once again

Hi guys,
I know it's been posted like a million times, but I've got a dead Xperia Z1C. Powering with neither of volume buttons does not work and the mysterious red button next to the SIM tray does nothing as well. PC does not recognise the device, however it shows, that some kind of a usb device is connected. Phone's red indicator of charging is on and working, apparently it's the only thing that is working.
Is there any other way to turn it on, or do I have to contact the retail service?
I had perhaps the same problem with my z1c. I manage to recover by:
1. Press vol + and power button. The phone vibrated 3 time.
2. Press vol - and connect the usb cable to pc (flash mode).
3. Open flashtool and flash 157 Rom.
Sent from my SM-T315 using XDA Free mobile app
I have tried holding all the button combinations - none of them worked - the phone never vibrates no matter how long I hold the buttons. Got the phone to the retailer, I hope the previous owner has not voided the warranty somehow...
