Sorry for my bad language, i'm French.
So, here is the pb: on my trinity, flash on WM6 (Faman Rom), i' ve NEVER the "H" (HSDPA) in the bar, just "3G". So, i'm not connected on the 3G+ connection, and not on 3G+. I live in Paris, there is 3G+.....
And, "Enable HSDPA" is properly selected...
Please, help !

yes, you live in paris and your phone is hsdpa enabled. but before the "H" shows on your screen, you have to set up your network and you need connect to HSDPA first by running you IE explore or
go to setting-->connection to connect　manually

Hi! I upgradet my Dopod 838pro with the HTC original upgrade from WM5.0 to 6.0. Since then encounter a problem when using "Internet Sharing".
I only have a data connectionif the "H" apears in the top bar. But it always switches back to "3G" and the the data connection stops.
Before it worked also on "U" (now "3G"). Is there a reason why the data connection stops in the "3G" mode - acccording my provider it still should work but only slower (i know) but it doesn't!
Anyone out there with an answer , a solution or a similar problem?
"3G" is the same as "U", both of which stands for UTMS. HSDPA is 3.5G. I don't see why it would stop working... do you mean when you stop using data the icon goes back to "3G"? If so, that's normal, because the phone's designed not to maintain an HSDPA connection to save on battery life.

I upgraded the slow M3100 of my Mother to WM6 using Hard SPL and the official TYTN French WM6 Rom. It seems to be nice and snappy, however there might be one problem.
Though the telephone says it is connected to a 3G network (UMTS), there is no mention of HSDPA (3.5G). Do you think I broke it?

HSDPA kicks in when you are downloading, set something downloading and see if it attaches to HSDPA.

Did you Check on the EnableHSDPAIcon Setting (there are some tweaks in the forum).
T-Mobile does disable the HDSPA Icon and will always show only the 3G Icon, even if your download is on HSDPA.

The H, as the majority of HSDPA phones, is present only when data exchange is active.
When the conection is idle you will get only the 3g icon even if you are under HSPA coverage.

I had Htc diamond and the H icon was present more than 3g
Guys is it totally normal for your internet connection icon to continuously switch between 3G and H?? no matter whether I set it for WCDMA only or GSM / WCDMA auto..
I have noticed that when there is no current internet connection being made - the icon remains 3G, then when i connect to the internet it switches to H, but freezes up all the time. When I use my o2 sim on the same desire handset, the icon remains H and the speed is fast continuously without any pause or disruptions.
Any help would be much appreciated, also a copy of an APN for orange internet would be great so I could check it with mine.
Never noticed a H on mine. Only seen it go to 3G+
Mine goes between 3G and H all the time while im in my flat.
Not checked while im out.
Its probs a network thing, orange might not have a strong 3G+ network in your area so it keeps switching. I even seen mine on GPRS sometimes.

What I'm trying to say is that my phone never displays a H just a 3G+. I have pretty good HSDPA coverage where I am
thanks for the replies - will keep testing my internet connection, still feel that o2 was faster but what the heck - the Desire was free so had to switch alliance!
My phone doesn't seem to have any data connection when "3G" shows, but works amazingly on "H" and just about bareable on "G". "E" shows occaisionally and doesn't seem to have internet access either.
When loading a web page for example, if it starts on "H" it will start loading, if it switches over to "3G" halfway through loading, it will hang and nothing will continue until it switches back to "H".
I've found many, many threads on similar issues on here, but wondering if anyone experiences this exact same problem.
I'm thinking my telco's (Vodafone Australia) default APN settings that are pushed to the phone arn't very compatible with android.
same for me. if it is 3g it waits till get h then loads... mine is t mob uk, probably because of them...
And what about E (edge)?

but after 2.2 ota everything is great.
