I thought about this issue too and it interests me extremely !!!
Somebody knows about Android ROMs for Artemis or where can I find informations on this ??
No
Read the Android's FAQ. Basically it will only run on new unknown hardware.

Hi,
I have a Huawei U7517 wich is similar to the U7510 and I was wondering if its possible to flash or install a Windows mobile version or android OS into this phone.
It seems this phone have a custom OS by Huawei and there are not many applications for it other than java apps.
It looks pysically the same as a HTC Jade or touch 3g but im not sure if its the same internally. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this.
Regards,

Hello there,
Like you can see this is my first post, so I start with saying I am happy to find this place and to be here.
Just a little while now, I am a proud owner of a HTC Desire aka HTC Bravo.
Now i am a little into programming with languages like java c c++ c# and some other strange ones.
So you can feel where I'm going to maby... I wanna start of developing my own APP on my HTC Desire.
Now I have a strange feeling that it's different to develop for a Nexus One as for a HTC Desire, like maby the way drivers are installed etc.
So can anyone point me in the right direction to start off?
Thanks in advanced! DesireDroid

I found this article very informative: http://www.vogella.de/articles/Android/article.html
And you develop an app for Android, not for a specific phone.

Thnxs for your reply petz, I'm going to study that page carefully
I understand that you dev for Android, but there are allot of stories about apps only working on 1.5 or 1.6 , 2.1 etc.
Also the point to use the HTC Desire as a developers phone. Are there differences between developing (connecting the htc desire to the pc, and test your self made apps on it, so you need propper drivers etc... or are these the same as from the htc sync.exe ?) on the HTC Desire and a Nexus One for example?
I've only begun developing apps yesterday
As I understand it, you only use the functions provided by the Android SDK, so you don't need to use specific drivers. One app should work on every phone, as long as the phone has the appropriate functions (GPS, Wifi...). You can develop an app for a specific version of Android (1.5, 1.6, 2.1,...) If you use 2.1, older versions of Android won't be able to use the app.
Hi,
New to all this: I was wondering if there's perhaps an "FAQ" which answers these:
- Is it possible to change the handset from Windows Mobile to Android (or any other OS?) The reason for this is that Windows Mobile is just not stable enough on this handset.
- Is this "risky"? Might I end up with no working handset?
- If it is possible to do so, is is then possible to ever revert back to Windows Mobile?
- Do you have to "buy" the Android OS?
Thanks,
Mark
1. There's no Android for hTC Mega, but here's a thread about it [here]
If you say that WinMo is not stable - why not try to flash a custom ROM?
2. You may and you may not, as there is no Android for it, then most likely not
3. In most cases Andriod boots from SD, so WinMo is always there.
4. Android is free.
PS. next time post in Mega section.
I don't understand. Is it possible to flash mango to my DHD? Why? I've watched some relative threads but still don't understand.

What you might have seen, is just a theme of Windows Phone OS and not actually the Operating system itself. Desire HD is an android phone and it is not possible to run Windows phone on DHD due to two simple and major reasons.
1. Devs don't give a dubblido about porting windows phone OS onto DHD
2. We all know that Android is much better than Windows phone OS, in terms of accessibility and utility.

Thanks, but what is dubblido?
Windows Os Is A Closed source and porting it to android is very very hard and impossible if i may say. and if you need windows 7 go and buy one, meanwhile the thread will be closed.
