BatteryStatus Problem with 6gb micro sdhc card - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

I,m using the Artemis Touch 3.01 Lite rom, i was running a sandisk 4gb micro sdhc card, and batterystatus correctly displayed the remaining space on the memory card, ie "2.4g"
But now i have installed a sandisk 6gb micro sdhc card, and everything works fine but batterystatus now displays "349.1" instead of "4.2g"
Any ideas please ?

ok i have now solved it of sorts by installing a newer build 0261, now i have an old problem back where the cpu load is displayed instead of signal strengh. And if you change it to signal then it also changes the program memory to storage memory.
I have installed it fresh with no old settings, but still the same.
any ideas at all ?

I do not have this problem

I am using Vanilla 3.01 and do not have this problem. My 6G has 4 G left yesterday and just now I download 300MB to it and it said I have 3.6G left.
I used BS V.260

Yeh sure is strange, i was using beta build 2.39 with my 4gb card no probs. I did get this icon mix up before though and solved it by removing the settings from the registry and restarting, then installing batterystatus again.
I think this happened because i replaced the one that came with the rom.
I wonder what batterystatus version / build others are using with 6gb or 8gb cards ?
For now i'll stick with build 2.61 and do without the signal strengh. I do think the earlier betas and also the stable version can't display the 6gb and 8gb cards properly, as i tried this earlier.

ok i have installed the clock theme for batterystatus and i now have all the info i need, lovely

Does your wm6 work well with a 4G mini sdhc???

hello everyone
i'm using a 4gb sandisk mini sdhc with my trinity, and the rom is "v3.00.07.09 PDAVIET". there are lots of problem on this combination, the biggest one is that i cannot find anything after i open a folder!!!(for example, clike storage card->progame files-> you find nothing there!!! but after one soft reset, the system runs well in about 10-20 minutes, then same problem again.)
is this a bug of the rom? or does the problem comes from this sdhc card? anybody know how to fix it? thanks
Hi there... I've got the same problem with all the wm6 "flavours" I've tested so far.
I've narrowed the problem down (in my case) to the way the device was being powered down... If I just let it by itself so that it powers down own its own when I power it back on everything is OK with the memory stick. All the folders and their contents are there.
In the other hand, if I press the power button so that the device powers down (what I usually do to save battery switching off the screen etc and keeping the phone functions on) whenever I power it back on all the memory card contents are either gone (can't see them on the file manager) or otherwise corrupt, showing as garbled characters sometimes or just showing empty folders.
As for now I'm waiting for Mun's next ROM to give wm6 another try... but if the problem persist I'll have to stick to WM5 (sadly missing the HTC Home Plugging which is wm6 only).
Best,
M Addario
what language do u use in your wm6?
i just find that, a english rom without any other language plug-in, the rom will be stable with this 4gb sdhc. hope this can help u 2. cheers.

Hello, i use a Transcend 4GB SDHC (class 2) card and have no problems at all with ax3l wm6 rom 2.0.8
under wm5 the card didnot work correctly
My Transcend 4GB SDHC works fine too.
i'm just testing 4gb Transcend classe4 SDHC an no problem
I'm using Sandisk MiniSDHC 4 Gb and tested many WM5-6 roms.
Every rom worked properly with the card.
some software make system unstable.
hi everyone, i just find where the problem comes. some software, like ce-star(this software enable your system display asian language) can make rom unstable. the problem will go as long as you uninstall that software!

Maximum Storage Card Capacity in O2 Orbit ?

I have an O2 XDA orbit and used to have a 2GB SD card i it which worked fine but I have lost it. I am not looking to buy a new one and the prices have dropped so was thinking about getting a 4 or 8GB card but was wondering if my phone would be able to handle it.
Does anyone know if there is a maximum SD card size we can use in our O2 orbits?
Thanks for your time,
memory
hi,
it supports 4 gb as i have used the same with a 4 gb
a friend of mine uses 8gb, there is a "patch" for it somewhere; dont know the link atm
Obviously the one named wm6 is for wm6, the other is for wm5 (although I think they both work for wm5)
Maximum Storage Card Capacity in O2 Orbit
Hi,
inside my Orbit, a 8GB SHDC card is working. I use the Artemis Touch 4.02 WM6.1 ROM --> the SDHC support is already implemented in this ROM --> no patch needed .
Kind regards,
hqqh
Thanks everyone. I ahve the touch 4.01 so does that have the patch ?

Yes it does.
I just put a new Sandisk 8gb micro sd in my Orbit (using Artemis Touch 4.02 WM6.1 ROM) Works fine, shows as 8gb in Total Commander, but on my today screen (if I'm reading it right) it's indicating it's only 3686mb?
Have you formatted your micro sd card yet? If you decide to make sure you format it with fat32 selected.

No. I tried format from my pc card reader but it won't detect it. I didn't try to format in the Orbit (couldn't find the option) I found another screen (storage memory or some such) where it showed as 8gb, just not the today screen.
the micro sd 4g card doesnt work on xda orbit arte 200 wm 5 regardless if its formated to FAT or FAT 32, however 2g works fine. I suppose this is the reason that on websites its written " expandable memory slot" and the value aint mentioned. If theres any way to 'patch ' it to make 4g work on wm5, i'd be curious 2 know.
btw, has any one managed to use the internet via wi fi on xda orbit arte 200 WM5. what has to b done??? mine connects to the wifi, but is unable to browse the internet for an unknown reason.
have you downloaded the sdhc.cab update here on xda???
Will allow upto 8gig(what I use in my partners orbit) may even allow larger but never tried...just do a search...
It works on ALL PPCc and wm based devices...
I use it in my i-mate pda-n (8gig card) and Orbit (standard rom which is partners) but also try a newer rom with 6.5 as is included...
I use sandisk SDHC 8GB more than 2 years and it work perfect , i have wm6.5.
cheers
32 GB MicroSDCard working without problems for a long time. Prerequisite is the sdhc.cab patch for original roms, in current roms it is mostly included.
Regards!
Steve
Can any1 having like for wm 6.5 for o2 xda orbit

Haret wont finish loading android...

Hey everyone... I cant seem to start android. I run Haret and it does the whole text on screen thing, but it ends up with this:
[ 000.000000] Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl. This function should no longer be used.
Now the 000.000000 within the brackets just increases. thats all it does. it continues scrolling while that number increases over and over and over very fast. (i dont know if it actually starts at 000.000000 but it increases so quickly i am just using the zeros as placeholders for the actual numbers.
Any help?

I get the same error. Please let me know if you get a fix.
Try reformatting and a fresh install
I have tried that already. I formatted the card completely and tried fresh. Same error. The weird thing is back in december i was able to load the 12/24 build on my phone while running NRG's rom.
I am now running Josh's Perfect 1.7 rom. Could the rom have anything to do with it?
hey im no expert, but the same thing happened to me. I realized that the start up file was not in the root of the SD card. make sure u have the STARTUP.TXT file in the root, the build i was using came with a folder designated startup configuration, and i found the rhodium file in there and copied it to the root.
Hope this helps
Thank you, but i tried that also. and the same problem still occured. I dont know what it is that i am doing wrong. :-\
Maybe this will help
I have 2 Micro SD cards and I can get Haret/Android to boot on my 2GB card but it will not boot on my 8GB card. The 8GB card has all my standard folders and files for my TP2 but the 2GB card was a fresh format with only Haret/Android on it. I loaded up the same files and folders to the root of each of the cards but only the 2GB card will fully boot. For me, this works. I just put in the 2GB card when I want to run Android.
Same thing for me. I used two different cards, the 2G SanDisk worked and 8G Kingston didn't. I bought an 8G SanDisk and now I have two "good enough to boot Android" cards.
My 8G Kingston was nothing but trouble anyway. I bought the 2G SanDisk because I couldn't flash a ROM from the Kingston (which is in my wife's phone now ).
I suggest buying a new card
Thanks, i will try another card. However i am still using the same card i used before when it loaded.
With me, Haret will just randomly lock on boot. Usually, resetting the TP2 then trying a reboot will work.
It's odd. It seems to work sometimes, then not at all.
(BTW, I'm booting off a 16GB SanDisk card)
I still get the error also. I formatted the sd card and I still get the error also. 000.000000] Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl. This function should no longer be used.
I tried an old build and it works but I can't get the old build to work. Any ideas. This is a Tmobile Touch Pro. I updated the windows ROM to the latest offical build. I also tried it on a custom build with the same error. Any ideas?
when i run the haret program, its says that it can't open the script file. what i am doing wrong?
Newest XANDROID (XDAndroid 2.0.1 (rel 1.5).cab) clean install fixed it for me.
Well, I only had the Problem on my RAPH300. RHOS was working fine anyways.
I have a similar problem, haret runs and the normal linux startup stuff scrolls along until it does a fsck on the sd card. It stops after complaining about not finding rootfs and drops to a bash shell.
I've tried it on two different sd cards with the same result. I've formatted and reinstalled to the same effect. I've tried this with the latest and the next-to-latest xandroid cabs.
Is there something I'm missing after installing the xandroid cab? Perhaps I can pass a command-line parameter to the startup to not run a filesystem check?
Could you plz Post your STARTUP.txt? im just curious and wana try something out.
Damnit... Its still happeneing.. On the newest build (today's build)
I cant seem to get it to work...
I still have the problem also. I tested it with 3/1/2010 build. I formatted the sd card downloaded 3/1 build installed the cab. Soft reboot and ran Haret.exe.
Omega, What ROM are you running? Im on Josh's Perfect 1.7. Im starting to think MAYBE the rom has something to do with it?? (i have absolutely no evidence to back this up, however when i tried an old build while running NRG's rom, it worked, but now, it doesnt.)
I'm on clean official WM 6.5 rom.I recently run eclair on my TP2 and decided to reset back to WinMo.When I tried to boot back to Android,it took me forever to load.Anybody can help?
I got problem with 2gb Kingston microSd, but I tried to load Haret from Sandisk 1gk and Sandisk 8gb and it works fine

Titanium Back & 16Gb memory card

This is an ongoing problem for me and it's definitely not ROM related, but it makes flashing ROM's difficult, in fact downright awkward!
When installing apps from TB it will get through a couple then reboot, at which point nothing will install until I repair my ext partition (Thank God for AmonRA!). Then it will do the same thing again. It will do the same thing with installing apps from the market too, but it's not so pronounced as I don't tend to install loads of apps at once especially as I've got TB.
I found that TB worked fine with CM7 as it didn't install to the ext partition until I flashed DarkTremors aps2sd, and that worked fine as a way round the problem.
None of this happened until I upgraded my 8Gb to 16Gb sd card. The card seems fine in every respect, just the problem with installing aps :-(
Anyone with any ideas?
My previous thread on disabling aps2sd has not proved fruitful either.
David
Before I upgraded my pathetic 2gb I done a little research and the word on the street was the hero couldn't handle more than 8gb, recommended by HTC apparently!
Whether this was due to the limitations of the rom(1.6 at the time) or the hardware I don't know.
Have you tried re-formatting your SD card and making sure the ext partion is compatible with the rom your using?

Yeah I've reformatted and reformatted, initially I thought that the problem mgiht have been the backup files had become corrupt when transfering them over ... and yes I've tried ext2 ext3 and ext4 all with the same results (the only rom i tried which wasn't compatible with ext4 was Cronos).
Maybe its true about 8gb being the limit the hero can handle, maybe someone else can confirm or deny.
I'm sure I've seen some on here using 16Gb cards, but it would be good to know, maybe I should change to the Froyo aps2sd?
Maybe you could try doing a nandroid backup, and trying a different rom to see if it works, if not you could have a faulty SD card???
I a, using a 16 Gb card without problems, I always do a full wipe of my phone and a format of my card before flashing a new Rom. I use the aps2sc within the rom and make sure that the settings are right (install to external) before I use titanium.
I am on elelinux 6.2.0

The max htc Hero should handle would be 32gb I believe. According to link 1, htc hero supports SD 2.0. While SD 2.0 is also called SDHC, which according to link 2 its max is 32gb
Maybe you should try to pull /proc/last_kmsg to see why it rebooted? (post it at pastebin.org, and place url here. Maybe we can understand it )

Yeah I'm really confused as those were my settings also and I tried in on Elelinux 6.2 ... I think it must be either my Hero had a bad day it was born or the sd card did, but it always comes up clean when scanned.

16gb card here, use TB all the time and nadroid as well and never had a problem. Maybe your card has some faulty sectors. Try to copy 16gb on it on the PC and copy it back to your pc after you've made sure nothing was cached. Or try scandisk to see if a part of the flash is broken, maybe.
Using a cheap ebay-bought Team 16GB Class6 with TB, flashing and nandroids. No issues whatsoever. Works great!
I've scanned the disk multiple times, not tried a full 16gb transfer ... and I'll get the log output in a minute or two
output of /proc/last_kmsg

Thanks in advance!
Edit: It got to installing around 15apps this time before crashing. It varies as to when it dies, but it will. I even considered that it was overheating, or due to OC'ing, but it does the same thing regardless of temp or CPU speed
i also use 16gb sd card for 3 or 4 months and nothing ever happens like that. everything works perfect...
Have a feeling that it's corrupt, as I have a new problem with installing anything, I now get told there's not enough room to install or updates apps ... when there's plenty ... arrrgggg!
if 16gb isn't working for you, send the card to me. I have a working 2gb you can have instead.

Haha that's really funny.
Actually I ran some scans, fsck's and reformats with repair options, and if it wasn't for the reboot issue and instability issues I have with Elelinux 7.0.3 then I'm sure I've got it fixed... I hope ...

[Q] My Desire lags terribly after switching from class 2 to class 10

Hello,
I have bought a Kingston MicroSD 16gb Class 10 card from eBay, although I was a bit concerned(because its eBay), I have received the card and tested it with H2testw v1.4.
The results:
Warning: Only 15475 of 15476 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 10.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 18.4 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
Ive been using Starburst Lite + data2sd rom, and when I got the new card I have reinstalled the rom just like I have installed it the first time (partitioned the sd card with fat32 and less than 2gb to ext4).
Now, the phone keeps lagging, and everything is slower, and I have no idea why.
The weird thing is, when I tried to play Modern Combat 2, it was way faster than with the class 2 card.
I have tried testing the card through the phone with Sdt (SD Card Tester) and it says the card has a write speed of about 2-3mb/s.
I have not tested read speed.
Why am I expriencing this? is it because the way I have reinstalled the rom? is it because the card is fake(even though the program I used to check the card said it was alright)? is it because the facebook sync/google sync?
You phone might lag during the first hours after installing a new ROM, I've had this too.
I had a similar problem with a Patriot class 10 card. I changed to an A-DATA class 6 and have had no problems at all using the StarBurst Main rom. My class 10 card in the phone suffered horrible write speeds, but amazing read speeds (no good for data2sd). The class 6 is WAY better.
ooie: I have installed the rom on the new sdcard last night at 19:30pm, and now its 10:17am.
OpusX11: It's a kingston branded card, and they're considered to be quite good as far as I know.
Also, I have tested the card with my pc, and it had better write + read speeds.
many issues have been reported already with class 10 cards and data2sd coexisting u can check here. i have a class 10 kingmax and have no problems though. since u're using sibere's data2sd (Starburst ROM) did u align to MiB when u created ur partitions, have u done the optimization trick mentioned in the data2sd OP?
Edit: i don't see why u reinstalled the ROM , wouldn't just partitioning the new card do the trick ?

To be honest, I have no idea whats MiB or the other link you're talking about.
I have installed the rom the same way I have installed it on my other card, the class 2 sandisk, which worked quite fast.
I have reinstalled the rom because i'm new to android and I wasn't sure if I had to install it or not so I just did it all again.

if u partitioned ur microsd with Gparted there is an option "align to MiB" (MiB= mb)
the optimization link is from the data2sd thread
this is a line from starburst thread "Data2Sd Re-Installer
If you ever reflash the Rom alone after the Data2SD is installed, some essential libraries required by Data2SD is lost. To restore them, flash the Rom in Recovery, followed immediately thereafter by the Re-Installer.
so go to the thread and download the data2sd REinstaller, flash ROM and then flash the reinstaller without leaving recovery, then reboot and see what happens.
I agree that Kingston normally is a very good brand, i use their RAM quite a bit, but when it comes to microSDHC, not so sure. Search this site for Kingston problem and you'll see the threads I was referring to.
Ok, so i checked my partioning and it seemed like i checked the align to MB thing.
Ive reinstalled the rom, and then Ive installed the Data2SD REinstaller, made a reboot and the phone just freezed at the green htc logo screen.
So ive installed it the way i did the first time and it works again, but slow.
Perhaps its the card? Or the Desire compatibility with the card?
I thought my phone would become super fast, but now it operates even slower :-\
I´ve flashed RCMixHD Data2ext with a Kingston 16 GB class 10 Card.
First hours the ROM feels very laggy, after "sattle down", it runs fast and smooth.
Well I've tried to wait one day but it was still laggy..
It says made in taiwan on my card, where was your card made?
mine is from china
I havent found a solution yet.. i have tried to reinstall starburst a few times, and tried to installed the standard edition instead of the lite edition, and its really slow and frustrating..

You had the class 10 kingston too?
I am beginning to think its the sd card, after I read that its not just about the class but also about the random write speed
