Hi, anyone know the difference between the 2 rom in its initial release?
Thanks
They're both working beta versions, both have bugs, maybe not the same ones but still bugs.
Unless you want to bugtest the ROMs, leave it for a week or so for the next versions to come out.
These are not ROMS you want to flash if you're looking for a stable replacement for WM5, therefore if you're asking which is best, the answer is, neither, at the moment.
If you want to know the differences, read through the threads for each one and see what problems people are having with them.
well, there's a lot of differences here and there.
Mun's rom is a higher version of WM6, and includes some stuff (office 2007 compatibility) that LVSW's doesn't. Of course LVSW's has some tools and apps that Mun's doesn't have. Haha.. It's pretty tough to compare them.
I will say this, I found Mun's ROM to be a bit faster in terms of bringing up new programs/windows. I dunno if that has anything to do with his customization or just the version of WM6. However right now a lot of people (including me) are having trouble using activesync with this version. I switched to LVSW and am syncing fine now.
There's some other issues here and there regarding VOIP and stuff that separate them...
hope it helps. As always, for comprehensive info, you need to go read the posts..
Well my opinion is that this thread is pointless, try thrm both and you will find out which one fits your needs, thats all, it is not a hard task
so if active sync works in one and not in the other how about some combined work?
How about waiting until a stable release comes out. I mean wtf, it has been a little over a day and people already want the perfect ROM.
Tweaking a ROM takes a lot of effort. Its not always that easy to locate problems and even if you do, they are not always easy to fix.
Give it a few weeks or wait for an official ROM if you can't deal with a few bugs here and there.
Who is complaining? I think you are misreading peoples intentions here by criticising the ROMs. It is in essence part of the testing process that you give feedback and also desire to solve the issues.
Noone is expecting the perfect ROM, but if you dont want the perfect the ROM then what is the point in developing?
I didn't quote anyone so I refered to the previous post by jpless.
Maybe I misread it but he made it sound like it was as easy as putting feature A from ROM1 into ROM2.
Its possible for some parts but could introduce a lot more new bugs.
I'm sure mun_rus and LVSW are well aware of each others Roms, it just takes time to evolve it to the state WM5 is in today. Especially since we don't have an official WM6 Rom.
Sorry for my harsh tone earlier. In time, we'll have a perfect WM6 Rom.
I take them both.
Mun's ROM so Quickly
LVSW was able to sync
Thanks a lot both MUN/LVSW .
@ZakMcRofl
Thanx for comments. You are absolutly right.
Just wait for next release. I have to test new rom before and should say that:
-AS sync - OK
-GPS camera - ok
-etc
I have no chance t otry videocall, so don't know anything about it
I'm waiting for the second betas to come out, and I think I'll jump on Mr. Mun_Rus's rom because, well, I sent him money, so I might as well use the results of that, right?
In the name of healthy competition, I declare that I find mUn's ROM the better of the two after careful evaluation. So im going to go back to mUn's ROM for now. Faster and less buggy camera-wise. Maybe you are tired of this now, but thanks again to both you and lvsw for your work.

You didn't quote but referred? Anywho I know it's not as easy as it sounds, just thought that maybe by comparing the bugs in either one we could maybe help solve some of them or something Just trying to help here...
Usually its considered bad style to quote the person right before you since it takes up board space and is the default reference point anyways.
The problem with the bugs is that you can't always pinpoint them to a single file or module, otherwise what you say would be possible (replace the file from other ROM).
A Rom error can come from a file, a registry entry or combinations of the former. Obviously having a comparison base can help but its obvious that LVSW and mun_rus already use it plenty - check their WM5 AKU 3.5.x Roms for example.
MUn is Best
In all the roms I've tried, Mun was the very first I tried, and although I don't use it any more, It was the most stable, IE I didn't soft reset it unless an installation wanted me to, it never crashed on me.
dude... the last post on this thread was in 2007...
happy new year

yes it is a pointless thread... play with them to find which is best for you
To me the best version is windows CE,do some research and install it,it'll make your xda rock or maybe brick
whats the best 6.1 ROM out there right now and why?
Please no, not another one of these questions. If you are not going to take a bit of time to read or search the forum then just try one of the lastest 19213 builds!
Ive already tried A LOT but nothing compares to Chap ROM with all the applications and stuff.
oh dear... i'm with gwen on this one... hahalololzzz... i'm off or some more reading... what a spectacular 1st post i've ever had here. btw- thx u gr8 pplz!
I agree with wam7. Always a horrible question. Every ROM is different just like every users needs are different. What is the perfect ROM for one, is not for another. Just read more, try as many ROM's as you can, and settle on the one that works for you......
Agree with wam & mike, you need to read the chef's wm6.1 threads / posts for all details & specific. Then flash some to see what fits U best...
Mod...close this redundant thread question!
My opinion is that any ROM that has the essentials that you use is good.
On my ROM, I include what I consider to be the essentials, and not anything else - if you want to add more, you can. Office, WLM, and Voice dialing is included with my ROM, but you can remove them if you don't want them.
I look at the ROMs that have 40+ applications installed as a default and usually think "Wow, I'd never use all that stuff" - but again, this is only my opinion
I was using CRC's WM6.1 v9 Rom, but I had a screen problem so changed to Schaps WM6 v4.31 which didn';t solve the problem (which was a loose D-Pad connector).
BUT, I decided to keep Schaps rom because I missed all the excellent functions it has. It may not be WM6.1 but it's the ultimate rom out there IMO.
best rom = ppc2003. google and install it. its the latest version.
My request (please, please, please!) is simply as by title:
anyone could gently upload a full working cab of this app for us "poorly" diamond vanilla roms users?!
I've tried one made by Swtos, one made by Dutty (i think, but I'm not so sure), and also one created for QVGA devices...but nothing! After the installation, and after a soft-reset, the contacts page is still the same old one: without the alphabetical sidebar...
Any chance to have it running?
PS: currently I'm using the Swto's 1.0 Vanilla rom..but I don't think this is the matter 'cause I've experienced the same issue with other vanilla roms like others from Swtos, and two or three (1.9/2.0...) from Dutty...
Thanks a lot!

Try the attached version with some added Extra's
De Nada
I don't know which version they are using.
This one is with contacts picker from Blackstone but the main DLL is from Raphael.
I have no time to test the Cab as a seperate install ATM.
So please feedback.
@Noonski: Thank you a lot but your cab wont work, exactly as the others I've tried...maybe, and I'm really thinking about it, to have a full working random acces app it's required another (or more) application with some reg keys or something else...
PS: just to ask...somebody knows where can I find a "transcriber" (maybe with the oportunity to change the localization) cab for vga?
TIA (another time)...
Very weird this is the full Randomm access.
It's OEM works just fine.
Dunno...maybe I have to set something into some option menu?
So...no news?!
Try this one. It is working for me.

Thanks a lot for your help!
Anyhow...no way to let it works...same thing than the others: no lateral bar on contacts page

Yep... That's exactly what you need to do.
For some elusive reason you don't get this letter slider per default and it only shows up after disabling alphabetical index...
Yes...tried also to do this.
Still no random access bar on the right side, just the standard scrollbar...
I'm going crazy with it and sincerly don't know how solve this issue!!!!!!!!

Hi there,
can anyone give me a link of where to download Touchflo 3d for Touch HD??
I've recently found a thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470164 which compressed whole manila files to make the Touchflo 3d relatively smaller and faster to the original one, but this is for diamond only, I'm looking for something that suit for my touch hd, if anyone got what i'm looking for, please let know, many thanks!!
wrong post ?
dude, the Touch HD comes with Touchflo as standard, why on earth would you want to download it again ??
Also this is a the wrong part of the forum to post on !!, if you havent got it, then contact your phone provider

I believe lynne02191 is asking for a compressed/sleeker version of HD Manila (i.e., the images in Manila's qtc files are compressed) that runs more smoothly, etc. than the stock version, and this would be the right place to discuss this, IMHO.
I think with the inherent capabilities of the HD, as well as the wonderful cooked ROMs people are making, Manila runs very well, and there is plenty of extra memory on the HD with it running, so a compressed/sleeker version may not be a priority.
Just my opinion, but this might explain why no one is trying to do something similar to the thread you linked, which was done to make HD manila run smoothly on the Diamond. Then again, someone may already be doing this, I do not know.
You may want to look here ( see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798) and look into the compression process.

Hi sk806,
Thanks for reply!
I've already been searching for a while, and I didn't found any version that is manila compressed but several .cabs which claimed are ported from the original blackstone manila.
after that, I installed all of them, but the result disappointed me, since I've encounterred many problems from the procedures.
anyway, like what u said, there are plenty of nice ROMs around there which run HD manila very well, so I won't bothering meself from searching anymore

KWBR's ROM; 'a Touch of HD' uses Chainfire's CFC
and TouchFLO runs VERY VERY nice, mean it's night and day difference!
i tried the "live patch" before flashing a full ROM but it didn't work on the HD, Chainfire is too busy at the moment to fix that up

Hi,
please help an HD newbie...
I like the standard TouchFlo on my, more or less, still standard HD but would simply like a plain black background on all the Tabs/Pages or whatever (The home/weather/ music etc ).
Can anyone give me a simple cab or something equally straighforward to do this?
Also, I have a different contacts program running (funcontacts) It is called fine when I call it from contacts via phone etc but NOT from the People tab, All People button. How do I get my HD to do this please.
Any help much appreciated!

The cab below should give you the same background image across all TouchFLO tabs. Install it and soft-reset. As far as I know you cannot re-map the "All People" softkey from the People tab...
Thanks
Thanks CW,
Going out for an hour but I'll try when I get back. Thanks again,
Scott
No Go
Thanks CW but I'm afraid it only partially worked. All the tab screens went black but the ino at the top of each went really weird and cr*ppy!
Anymore ideas anyone please.

I should have looked earlier at what rom you are running. You have quite an older version of TouchFLO in your rom. The cab I posted was intended for a much newer one. That's why it didn't work as I described it would. You could look into Maxycy's software to customize your TouchFLO. Other than that, I don't know what else still supports the older version.
Stupid question?
Why is it an old ROM in a brand new phone?
Shouldn't it be bang up to date? I had to wait for delivery because they were waiting for 'new' phones!
Am I just stupid?

No, HTC / the vendor is. Said you had a 1.19.xxxx rom when they have up to 1.59.xxxx released now. You should look into updating it. Are you interested in custom roms? If not, you should still look into updating to the latest official rom
in fact even the most recent stock roms (provided by operator) are often outdated compared to the roms you can find here (@xda)
they are mostly based:
newer builds of wm6.1 or wm6.5beta
some parts from other (newer) devices
optimzed and customized by the authors
i suggest you to read the hd section to see what u can do with your phone
Will do guys, thanks.
BTW, got my black screen on all tabs! Just had to do a bit of work and use Manila Editor. I will take a look at custom ROMs but they scare me
Maybe I'll pluck up the courage, just worried I'll brick my device!
Thanks again.

Flashing is easy if you are well informed beforehand. Just do the research before you flash. Read the Wiki and my guide on flashing roms. Links are in my signature.
