AT&T 8525 GPRS Password

Does anyone happen to know what the password is for the GPRS setting for the AT&T 8525?
I'm upgrading to WM6 Black Majik and the instructions on MrVanx's site says to copy down the info.
The only thing is that the password to log onto the network shows all *'s and I can't find out what the password is supposed to be.
Also the site says to go here to change the MMS settings:
MMS settings:
Again with any luck you wrote down the MMS settings, this time go to start>messaging>menu>options>mms>servers(tab). tap the 'New' button and enter the settings. remember to set the new settings as the default ones in the servers page.
But when I go to the options menu, there is no "MMS" option. Only SMS/MMS and after I click that it only shows to options box to check, no servers tab.
Anyone know what's going on?
P.S. I'm following the EXACT instructions on MrVanx's site word for word and everything has worked up to this point.

MMS settings - can't help you there - a good google search would get you this.
Anything u will ever need for AT&T:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1360192&postcount=1
actually, you don't need anything besides the AP. Usernames/passwords are not actually used any more. Just follow this:
If you have a pda connect plan then your ap can be:
isp.cingular
or
wap.cingular
If you have a media connect plan then your ap can only be:
wap.cingular
Okay, thanks for the link. I've installed the CAB file that was on the thread.
The only problem I have left is the fact that I can't receive ANY text, picture, or video messages. I've tried sending it to myself and from my Verizon phone. Nothing.
Any ideas?
Make sure you have the right text messaging/data plan..
I have unlimited data and messanging. So that is definately not the issue.

Need a little help, 8525 on TMobile(US)

I'm going to give my 8525 as a Christmas gift to someone who is going to use it on Tmobile, so I need to set it up for it.
I haven't been using it, and just updgraded it to the official ATT WM6 Rom, so I will upgrade it again to something on here.
It doesn't matter the ROM, I will figure that out later.
What I need to know is how to set it up to work on TMobile, sms, mms, internet, etc.
I tried searching, but the answer is probably stuck somewhere in 100's of pages of threads.
A quick answer would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If you upgrade towards one of the latest Schaps roms there will be no problem with those settings.
Autoconfig will configure the phone according to the network of the simcard in use. I use it everytime when I'm in England, I've got myself a T-Mobile NL simcard and a T-Mobile UK simcard, no problems with connecting to the net or mms
Hey you can give this a try I have the same phone and these settings.

Searching and not giving up are your best friends
Im currently using a 8525 on t-mobile. The only problem I had was when I called t-mobile they the broad gave me the wrong IP address for my MMS soo that was a headache. If you search you will always find what you need.
I use Schap's 3.20 on an 8525 with T-Mobile US. It was very easy to set up, as long as you follow the instructions listed in the forums and Wiki. I was able to use a settings CAB to get everything working properly right off the bat.
Only two things I haven't been able to fix- The TAB key no longer has any function, and I cannot send an SMS directly to an e-mail address. I found a rough work around for the e-mail, but not the TAB key.
EDIT: Was just kindly directed to a fix for the TAB key: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1764376&postcount=2
Good luck!

MMS settings for XDA IIs - Please help

I have a XDA IIs that when unlocked and i started using a T-Mobile sim did not send or recieve MMS. It kept trying to revert to O2 settings but would not accept T-Mobile settings at all.
I have now upgraded the operating system/ROM to Mobile 5 (having no probs at all on that... thanks ppl) and when i g to messaging i do not even have an option for MMS... Only Text and E-Mail.
I called T-Mobile tech guys and they had no answer either.
Anybody out there know how i can install the settings and configere it to T-Mobile MMS settings.
I know there are smaller PDA's out there but really dont wanna get rid of this as it has a decent screen size so you can actually see all the details on the map when running tomtom.
Look forward to hearing a solution soon

MMS and internet settings
you dont say if it is pay and go or contract or even mention what wm5 rom you have installed, maybe the rom has no mms built in to it?
Anyway here are all the uk mobile internet and mms settings cabs
just unrar the uk gprs settings file and copy the t-mobile cab over to your device and run it, that will set it up, but as i have already mentioned if the rom doesnt support mms then none of this will do much good as you will have to install arcsoft mms to get it to work
Not sure if this version is compatable with your rom but worth a try
http://rapidshare.com/files/93853581/Arcsoft_MMS_4281_2_.cab
P.S I forgot to mention you have to send at least one MMS with t-mobile to be able to receive them
Btw i used to live in Hemel Hempstead and work in st albans
Hope it works for you
Thanks for your advise.
The ROM version installed is 5.03.02 WWE ROM Date 03/02/05 and it is on t-mobile contract.
You meion you live in St Albans...l so do I in London colney... as i dont know much about what im doing when it comes to messing withj the system stuff could we meet up and you do it for me at some stage and i'll be willing to sort you out a little drink for it?
Billy B
sorry i dont live in st albans, i said i USED to live in hemel and WORK in st albans but that was in 1995, i now live in manchester.
As for setting it up just install arcsoft MMS and then install the t-mobile cab and it will set it up for you.
Thanks mate
No probs.... i think even a simpleton like me cal manage that.
If MMS still doesnt work you may need to change a couple of settings for pay and go ,if it isnt a contract sim
let me know if you got it working

well depends on what version of arcsoft mms you have installed, v5 and above click on messages then click on menu then click on mms settings then click servers and you add/amend or create a new server there. on version four it is exactly the same but to enter the server options you go about it slightly differently. It has been a while since i used four so i cant remember exactly how. once you are in the server options page in arcsoft then create a new server with your settings and also make sure you set it as the default server, otherwise it wont work.
I need these settings for the USA, this is for use on a standard plan, not pay as you go.
BTW, the password, is it the same password used to log in to the T-Mobile website?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

MMS Help & BT MMS Settings

Ok so I have been able to send and receive MMS fine for several weeks with Rogers and my HTC S621 with the new wm6 rom on it.
Worked for awhile with the tmobile rom and then stopped working before i changed rom.
So anyways whats happening now is I can send FINE but I cannot receive.
Finally got someone at rogers who seemed to know what they were talking about and they said that if I have my sim in another phone like a nokia that is supposed to send and receive then if their system updates and shows me with that and I put my sim back in my HTC then I can receive but if the system updates again showing me with a HTC S621 it will no longer accept the incoming.
There is nothing they can do to fix it... they said they were planning to release a rom with a fix for it but I dont want to wait for that so does anyone know a way around this?? is there a registry fix or something to allow me to keep getting them??
Thanks
Not only that,
Sorry to thread crap, but i was wondiering if any body had a how to on setting up on the NEW WM6 internet settings for rogers. I c ant seem to get it to wokr.
REgarding this MMS stuff, i was having similar issue where i could send MMS but not receive. I then realized that my friend had the same issue as well. I checked my online album and all the pictures were going there. I don't even receive notifications of my MMS messages being received by the other person. I worked with rogers tech support for nearly 2 hour2 with 4 different phones (rogers does not support MMS on HTC s621 or any other phone running windows mobile because they dont have an agreement with microsoft apparently). I could not even get my rogers razer to work, same issues. They kept telling me my account was fine. She then recommended i try a new sim card, which i did with no luck. I have yet to call back and let them know that im still having problems. Has anyone been experienceing similar issues?

I have the exact same issue. I can send but not receive. What do you have for your MMS settings?
Sorry, Rogers does not support MMS messages being received on the Excalibur.
The software they use does not have a profile for the device, so they make you log in to their website to view mms messages.
pain in the butt? YES.

MMS Probs after HTC Rom update?
since i upgraded to the htc rom yesterday, i noticed that my mms when receiving a pic, i get a "error synchronizing" when i try to hit menu and download message.. hopefully this has not been talked about already. HELP!!! I am on the t-mobile network..
I too am getting the same error message since flashing my dash to WM6 htc ROM...I still think the Robust Rom outweights the sms problem...however in a perfect world, we can have both...anyone else with the problem???
I meant to write those settings down before upgrading -- someone with a standard Dash might be able to post them. As with the wap.voicestream.com setup to get internet going, I believe there is additional configuration to be done before MMS will work right...?

I hate to do some cross-forum posting stuff, but PocketPC Addict has the settings for T-Mobile (a little Google goes a long way!). I learned that MMS and GPRS settings are not often sent by the carrier when I jammed my AT&T SIM card in there.
I find it funny that AT&T keeps all their settings for all their devices, yet T-Mobile doesn't, especially considering that T-Mobile is far more liberal when it comes to customer support (allowing people to bring their unlocked phones with them, unlocking phones after only three months of service, not charging extra for teathering, relatively cheap Internet rates, etc.)
thanks for the info, couldnt really find anything on that particular site, but i bookmarked anyways! looks like another great forum to relate too!! anyway who ever else still have a prob.. with mms (tmobile dash) since the htc upgrade, myself too found a site by googling it.. and here is the link.. it worked for me! good luck

MMS/SMS settings for cingular on unlocked/unbranded dash
I just got finished flashing my dash to the generic HTC ROM and I'm trying to find the procedure for putting the settings in for cingular. I tried following some that I found that aid to go to:
Start > Messaging > MMS > Menu/Settings > Menu/MMSC Settings
But the fields don't match up with the settings that the Cingular/AT&T site provides. For instance, there's no username/password settings on the dash in this location.
Anyone have a working set of instructions/settings for the new AT&T/Cingular?
I do NOT have a data plan, nor do I want to use MediaNET, etc. I just want to use WiFi and MMS. (WiFi works fine.)
*sigh* I spent 2 hours looking and looking.. then, imediately after posting this, I find it. Well, at least this may help the next poor soul looking for it.
This is for another device, but the instructions are exactly the same.
For pretty screenshots go to:
https://www.wireless.att.com/support/deviceConfig.do?content=KB69475.html
1. From the home screen, press Start and select Messaging.
2. Scroll to and select MMS.
3. Select Menu.
4. Scroll to and select Options.
5. Scroll to and select Account Options. (mine said 'Account Settings')
6. Scroll to and select MMS.
7. Select Menu.
8. Scroll to and select MMSC Settings.
9. With "Cingular MMS" highlighted, select Edit.
10. Validate the following: (Edit existing or Add)
* Name: Cingular MMS
* MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
* WAP Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
* Port: 80
* Connect Via: The Internet
* Max. Sending Size: 300K
* WAP Version: WAP 2.0
11. Select Done.
finally! mms settings just copy from blackjack ATT
find the mms settings for your dash/att at att website. go to support select the BLACKJACK and copy the settings. lol SO funny i was looking and looking and looking everyone had a different flavor. but when i tried this setting it worked instantly. GO right to good old AT&T/support/blackjack/mms settings.
MDA MAIL (T-Mobile DASH) (HTC S620) - Internet Gprs, MMS Settings and WIFI Problem
Guys,
I have been reading all of the threads on this forum and i am glad that you are solving almost all the problems that ppl occurred while using the dash.
I have the T-mobile MDA Mail europe and i love the phone but there is no wifi. In order to get the wifi i installed new ROM (thanks to this forum) and now I have the newest ROM but i still dont have wifi. I asked the chief of T-mobile service in my country how can i solve this and he said the actually T-mobile Europe is ordering this phone in HTC without the WIFI antenna. I was amazed and dissapointed. They are sooooo ****ing gay coz they want us to use their gprs as only internet access.
However, After the installation of the official HTC WM6 ROM (i hated the t-mobile rom), I cant use even the GPRS. Can set the settings by myself. Can you please help me? There are no hints on the official t-mobile site.
Thanks in advance

Cannot send MMS from my Desire HD :(

Hey all,
Trying to send MMS with my Desire HD and it just wont send any!!
I am using a ICS ASOPX rom, i tried cm7.2 (stable) and i was able to send one to myself, thought brilliant!
Tried to send another, just would fail/time out. Same as the ICS rom.
any idea's?
Or is my phone just crap.
Also it doesn't seem like a carrier problem, i put my sim card into a iPhone and it sent/received mms no worries
I believe (don't quote me on this lol) that its a known issue on ICS/JB
Try using CM7 again and see what happens. Also what carrier are you using, which country and have you checked the MMS/APN settings?
The Corner approves..
That thanks button ain't gonna push itself!
You just clicked this cause its hidden didn't you?
I am in Australia using Vodafone AU at the moment, but soon to be on amaysim (optus).
Checked my APN settings hundreds of times, entered them manually, got them off the sim, carrier website still no dice.
Hopefully it isn't a ICS/JB issue because this ICS rom kicks ass!
CM7 just feels so old
I did try it for a few hours (CM7) and it was doing the same thing.
Hoping it isn't a JB/ICS bug
Turn ON mobile data and it shuld work.
Otherwise restart your device and try it again.
Tried with data on/off, WiFi on/off,
Still no joy.
Flashed a different radio, still no difference

May be onto something.
Flashed back to stock, MMS now magically works no problems
Back to stock as in an RUU? Or flashing a rooted stock ROM?

I grabbed a rooted stock ROM and MMS has been flawless so far.
Downside is....HTC sense, and android 2.3
I have the same problem, perfect mms on rooted stock rom, but on Jelly Bean it refuses to send the damn message....
Same here, However work fine in CM7
Same issues here. Using CM7 no problems. Using a JB rom (tried jellytime & codefirex), I can get Vodafone Au to work if all the settings (internet & mms) are in a single APN. When I switch to Optus (Au), I can send mms if I use mms only settings but have no internet. I am unable to combine all the settings into a single APN as with Vodafone. If I use the recommended APNs for internet and mms (separate APNs) I can no longer send mms. Then if I switch on wifi, I can. Has to be some sort of jb bug.
This is getting very frustrating.:what:

I couldn't send mms on Telstra AU (Jelly Time ROM) for a couple days and I spent HOURS changing settings until I FINALLY managed to get it to work.
Don't bother ringing the telco and getting help for anyone thinking of doing that - they have NO idea what is going on.
Anyway, I found what worked for me was doubling up the settings.
Telstra comes with 4 APN settings, normally the Telstra.wap is selected as default. Some phones only have the one setting (Telstra . wap) and everything works - everyone is different for some reason...
ANYWAY... the problem thereafter is that the other 3 settings are all fighting for the MMS profile, and it basically - screws everything up.
So... if you have other APN settings there, modify them - go to APN type and delete the ,mms part ONLY. I found deleting the APNs to stop my internet from working etc. and only leave the proper .mms APN with the mms setting
If that doesn't solve your problem (and it didn't for me the 2nd time I installed a Jelly Time ROM) - add the ,mms to the default Telstra . wap and leave the Telstra . mms, add the mms settings to the .wap APN (MMSC, MMS Proxy and MMS Port etc.)
If that doesn't work, modify the Telstra.mms to have the Proxy and Port set to the same values as in the MMS Proxy and MMS Port, also change it to PAP or CHAP
After a reboot this should work...
So my two settings look like the below:
shifted-is said:
telstra.mms settings:
Name: Telstra MMS
APN: telstra.mms

Get rid of the spaces in the MMSC between the dot and the com and change the 0 to an o... says I can't post links to "outside websites"
Will this work on other services? I don't know... but may help people play around with the settings and see if it does fix their issues.
Hope it helps...

It's like u just checked MMS APN, nothing else. Except u now can't get data connection, so I think this is not very helpful.
I have the same problem with CM11 KitKat. When I'm sending MMS, I have to switch APN to MMS settings, and for internet I have to change back to Internet APN. On CM10.1 all worked fine... But, for me it's not a big deal, cause I rarely send MMS, so...
