Hey guys, I just wanted to know if there was a way to get all of my contacts out of my phone into Outlook.
I just want to do this in case I lose my phone or something.
I have over 400 contacts, and putting them 1 by 1 is quite a pain in the beeeeeeeeeeeeeep lol
Any ideas?
Synchronize via activesync.

Hey all,
Someone stole my Dash =( and now I'm probably going to get the Android - I was wondering how I could recover my contacts... I've got Vista, so it syncs via device center, and I know I did have them syncing.
I thought they would be in my Outlook address book, but none are there; nor in my Windows Mail contacts.
Did something go horribly wrong? Or is there way to find them?
Thanks
Y don't you copy them to Sim card?
I'm sure on the Dream, you'll be able to transfer contacts from sim.
My phone was stolen... I don't have it or the SIM card any more.
There syncing on the Outlook. If they where not there then you have to get them one by one
Hello,
I was synchronizing my HTC dash with my new PC and I forgot to change the setting in the Microsoft Active Sync to be; replace all items on the computer in case of conflict from replace all items on my device in case of conflict... So now I deleted all my contacts...
ANY way how can I retrieve them???
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thank You!!!
Tony
You cant. This is why you should always back up your contacts (and all data)
Contacts can be backed up onto the SIM card and you can use a service like Google Sync, Dashwire, MS My Phone etc to keep a back up.

Click to collapse
Thats what I thought...
No biggie. I have them on my other computer in outlook...
Hi guys, hope this isnt in the wrong place, but having a real nightmare...

Im running the latest 3.55 L26 rom, and no other probs, but not sure how i get alll my contacts to sync back without having to do a hard reset...
Hope someone knows the easy way to sort this..
So my TP2 just got stolen and I had to get a brand spanking new one. I had backed up my contacts on my computer using Outlook. I'm trying to restore the contacts from Outlook to my phone, and for some reason I can't figure out how. Can anyone run me through this please?
active sync isn't working?
The phone is connected, but how do I tell the computer to send the contacts to the phone? I'm usually rather computer saavy, and I'm sure this is very simple to do, but I'm missing it.
I left ActiveSync for WMDC 6.1 when I switched to Win7, but I believe if you just sync once it is connected it should work. Since there are no contacts on your phone it should just copy them all over.
did you go through active sync device set up?
I got it. I'm a moron. Wow. Thank you anyway.
Hi, After using gmail to sync al contacts, calendars & mail & getting fed up with the way google handles contacts, I decided to untick "contacts sync" from googlemail on the phone, then hooked phone up to pc & sync'ed calendar & contacts. In doing so, I have somehow & very stupidly removed ALL my outlook contacts...I can get to my googlemail contacts but outlook is now empty of contacts...please tell me there's a way to get them back from somewhere! Thanks very much
Check the Outlook trashcan.
lol...what a doozy. In the mad flap I was in just didn't think straight. Thanks very much indeed for that. Is there a way I can stop this happening again? I only want Outlook contacts on the phone but happy to sync email & calendar with my gmail account. Cheers again, appreciate your help.
I also decided to remove all sync'ing from my google account- if you have done the same, then you shouldn't have that issue again.
Just to be on the safe side, now that you have your contacts back in Outlook, I'd suggest creating a back up of it (perhaps regularly), to a PST file or similar. Might to be wise to use an app to backup contacts/calender entries directly from the phone- Wave Secure as an example.
Cheers for that, outlook contacts backed up yesterday straight after restoring them back! Appreciate the advice though sh500
Just a quickie now though, I've made a "group" to send funny texts onto and while ome of the texts go to the mobile number, some are being sent to emails...again, anything really simple & dumb I'm doing here? I have set the mobile number as "primary" on all the group members but the phone seems to mix up the emails with the mob' numbers if the contact has more than 1 email address, 1 of which I set as primary too. Cheers again...
