Hi,
My Qtek9090 started to act wierd.
When I reset it sometimes it says "no GSM".
I have tried to reload latest radio software without success.
The phone also stops responding now and then for a minute or so
All this happened after I tried to install pocketZip (and run it once)
My guess is that something in the registry or some more deeper vaule (like calibration data for the radio) has changed and made the phone crazy..
Is their anyone out there that can help me to understand what happened?

still GSM problems
Hi,
I still have problem radio problem.
Now I have reassembled it and found a loose screw :shock:
After that, I "upgraded" to latest rom, 1.40wwe, and then radio to 1.15
After this the PDA does not say "No GSM" any longer, though I only have rebooted it ten times or so.
But when I wake it up from sleep I can see that the radio has been shut off, both via "phoneAlarm" and the GPRS icon "G" which turns into double arrow with a "x"
And the problem with "slow" responce still occurs, but if I do a call, the slow responce dissappears for while.
I have now given up, and ordered a HTC TyTN instead, I hope its not bad choice...

im having the same problem also
i know this may not work but i have no gsm sometimes on my o2 xda iis and it was solved via a soft reset try it
I have to say tht there are many issues in using the 1.15 radio..
it has borked many phones. so my suggestion to the mods is to remove the 1.15 link from the downloads.
I have also spoiled my phone using the 1.15 rom.
O2 says you need to change the mainboard..
so guys dont use the 1.15 rom
but i didn't install nethin and it happend...i still have the same problem...btw is there a way to instal the original radio rom...that might help my phone...cuz i dun thin i have one in ma phone

i upgraded my xda iis radio rom to 1.50 after a soft reset i have a no gsm on my bootloader can you teach me how you have use or install your radio rom?sorry for bad english, and thanx in advance...

Since thursday i have the No GSM error (even if i`m addicted to flash ROMs like hell, i really did nothing like 2 weeks with my device).
What i did before i do my posting this is:
Hard reset 127 times
Soft reset anything like 200-300 times.
Read about 30 threads with that error and most reflect to this guide.
Readed this guide 5 times.

Flashed original HTC Tytn ROM/Schaps Rom flashed different radio roms.
It looks ok for 30 minutes but then the device is stuck and after a soft reset it says No GSM again and again ...
It looks like it have connection but if i call my number it have no connection.
Now i give up and ask you guys for help please.

i have the same problem, i search for a result but now i upgrade the radio, but now i cant flash the radio again, it start to hang at 11%...
I had a similar problem on my Wizard one time.
I ended up fixing it by flashing on of the giant original shipping roms.
The rom includes everything and was the only way I could recover from the corrupt radio flash.

these problems are caused be something glitching up in the flash, not the sim
Got the same problem: the radio died without any new flash

Try to flash again, i had same errors after i flashed some different ROM`s.
What i remember just right now:
I get a new sim card on thursday since then i have this no GSM error.
Now i`m scared to setup my connection because the device is running.
Had some connection losses but as long its working...
Not really.... i open Programms and scroll down then windows hang.
No UMTS connection i bought it because i want to read my emails, not just to make phone calls .
And to be honestly : to flash around
Still looking for a solution for that no GSM error.

Same Problem
I got an replacement from At&t because of the white screen effect on the Cingular version.
As soon as I load in the sim it gives me a no gsm message..
so i load up black X rc and the newest att radio and i still get the message..
So finally i hard reset a couple of times and it goes away..
Now the only thing is that the connection reset a lot and even flashing back to the original raido with an downgraded ipl and spl still doesn't solve that. I even got a new sim and no luck.
I even went to the point of simunlocking it and it still doesn't work.
Keep in mind that this is the new att 8525 and the cingular 8525 worked better even it i cudn't see the screen..lol

yea i tried the one off htc's website i get an error about 11% thru, any other ideas because im going crazy i have no gsm no phone service no service period!! HELP!!!
Yes, the latest supported wm5 is the one i had originally.

ur RADIO ROM version is - 1.16.00.00. Hope you know that this has to be separately updated, and is not included in any of the ROMs available in the cooked format e.g schaps....
may i suggest that you upgrade to one of the latest RADIO ROMs, available here - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
The 1.48 RADIO ROM seems particularly stable all around the world, so go ahead and give it a try - ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Hermes/HERM_Radio_Only_1.48.00.10_CustomRUU.rar
After that, you could choose Schap's latest ROM and upgrade to the same; and check if things work out.
EDIT: I see that you have flashed different radio roms already......
NOOB's ANSWER TO THIS PREDICAMENT: Downgrade to the offficial radio and ROM. And see to it that you restore your SPL i.e., follow the procedures of removing olipro.... and take it to your nearest O2 dealer...

How about this one:
Flash your ROM radio etc.
Take out the battery for 20 minutes.
Yesterday i flashed the original O2 ROM after it said No GSM again.
I was mad and took out the battery.
In the morning i inserted the battery again and since then no problem.
To test this if its really working i flashed a HTC ROM, after configuration etc. i took out the battery again, waited ~ 20 minutes.
Because it said no GSM again after flashing HTC ROM.
Looks like its working (for me)

hey.. i would really appreciate if you guys could help me out with this one (i am a noob =(( )
One perfect night i loose reception and unable to retain it(no gsm). it seems like i cannot find my network (AT&T) i have the AT&T 8525 phone.
when i go to settings>system>device information, my radio field is blank, i persume thats the problem.. i have tried to install some, but none seem to go through completely.. I have installed vp's WM6 + addons ROM, but it is still blank..
It would be great if you could help me out, i really need the phone for my business.

vp's WM6 works perfect but no GSM
i know that radio rom needs to be upgrade by itself my prob is that there is no radio it doesnt even read the IMEI, but i know it works because on my old Hermes it still works so its the phone, any ideas? i try to upgrade the radio rom, ive read all the forums on how to fix the radio rom only and nothing again it starts gets to like 11% or 12% then error 262. HELP!!

Flashed WM5 same error = No GSM
Sometimes it shows No R No G
Tested it with 3 different operators sim card.
Setup a complete new OS on my notebook (because i thought a virus maybe and it corrupted the downloaded files).
During the flash process i even dont breathe but no help
Flashed HTC ROM with radio 1.47... interrupted the second update/setup process.
Was ok for 3 hours.
Are we all just beta testers from HTC and MS ?
Im still getting the same issue. Although I unlocked and superCID the deviece I will try to get a warranty exchange on it. It was messing up before I did any of that so I don't think that it should matter. I just want my old Cingular 8525... but i guess i have to keep on trying until I get a good one.

Ladies and gentlemen, I had the same problem, and I fixed it. Here's my story.
I was an idiot one night. Pulling my trusty 8525 from my pocket to read a text message, I instead dropped it. On its face. On pavement. From waist height.
I know, I cringed, too.
Ever since then, I got the No GSM error, and radio ROMs refused to flash beyond 11%, except the original factory ship ROM which got as far as 12%. Everything else worked perfectly except the radio.
I took it to one of the IT guys at work who suggested that I may have damaged something on the mainboard, but here's another 8525 you can play with if you want, because it's in the recycle box and will be going out the door to be recycled soon and we won't see any money out of it anyway, so here, it's yours.
Problem was, 8525-b had video issues. SOMETIMES would get the whitescreen. ALWAYS wrapped the bottom ten or fifteen rows of pixels up to the top of the screen. But the phone worked flawlessly.
Then, I discovered that the "video card" is separate from the main circuit board. Therefore, 8525-a had problems with the mainboard, and 8525-b had problems with the videoboard.
The solution presents itself.
Took them both apart, took the mainboard from the 8525-b and installed it into the 8525-a.
My Hermes is back. Everything functions flawlessly, including the radio. And everything flashes, too.
Point of the story: I don't know if you dropped your phone or if maybe something else may have caused some damage, but the only way that I was able to work around the radio rom flash hanging at 11% issue was to replace the mainboard. I got lucky, I was good friends with the IT guy. But I was never able to find another solution.
I have schaps 3 rom ,with 1.51 radio (for almost 1 month),everythign was working fine , yesterday all of a sudden i had no signal , sim not detected,same sim in other phone work , but hermes fails to detect any sim ,even without a sim card when I restart the phone I don't get simcard not detecete or missing issue.
Any ideas ? Should I try changning the radio rom ?
You may want to try the following...
1) Do a full backup of your phone (Sprite or SPB Backup)
2) Hard Reset your phone...
3) If Sim still not detected, reflash your phone again with your last WM6 OS or your phone's original OS.
4) After reflash.... check your SIM...
If your SIM is still not being detected, clean the contacts where the Sim contacts your phone with a cotton swab..
If that still doesn't work... your phone may be damaged and may need repair or replacement....

what if my hermes detects one simcard perfectly and the gets the sim menu for the other one but it is unable to recieve signals and just keeps on searching for a network....tried hard reset and no luck ....using schaps 4 and 1.54.07 at&t radio rom...

it would appear you'll need to reflash with a radio version that it likes or accepts - try flashing with an orginal rom, then u know its definately not the handset - just your rom that your flashing with
I just tried the 1.54 rom , doesn't do anything , I am able to do a rom update but when I try the radio update I get stuck in the bootloader altogether , then I again have to do a complete rom update.
I've been reading in the forum , I am yet not getting any gsm error , but as I mentioned I am getting all Radio as 0 ,Imei as 0 when it does start.
Mind it,I started getting all this ,just all of a sudden, I wasn't flashing anything.

I live in Bangladesh. Recently I visited Malaysia and bought a Dopod 838 Pro from there. I checked it over there and it worked fine. But after getting back, when I tried the mobile with my country's SIM, it gave a error message saying ' your current network 47001 is not supported, please ask your device vendor for an update' and I got a no service problem. In the available networks section my operator (GrameenPhone) isn't listed.I tried almost everything I could, upgraded to SPL v.7, tried different radio versions, tried different ROMs and modified windows mobile versions like Black version, Pays version etc. The best I got was I got a signal for 2-3 mins. During that time I could make and receive phone calls, it worked fine for that short time. But after that 2-3 mins. the signal drops and the phone starts checking for the signal and eventually I get a no service problem. I tried repeatedly but with the same result. Have you tried to SIM unlock it?? Take a look in the upgrading forum...READ READ READ before doing anything else ok?
Try a different more newer SIM card, or maybe a different provider!

And I also need the radio ROM version 1.40.30.00 (that's the only radio ROM I couldn't try because when I clicked on the link shown in the forum I got a '550 Failed to change directory' error. Phone problems
Make sure you are SIM unlocked and not just Device unlocked. They are two different things. I've heard of some folks having to repeat the process a few times for it to "take". Good luck.
Hmmm... If an IMEI is reported as stolen etc would it cause the phone to work for a couple of minutes and than lose service? This may be something for you to check into. Just my 2 cents.
hi, first of all: I have been searching for solution to this problem for ages but the problem still persists
I bought the phone a while ago, worked pretty much perfect, I experienced some random signal lost but right after restarting or some minutes the signal went back, so after some months and after changing my phone screen my signal disappeared completly It once worked with my friend's sim card but just with that card and just one time, I tried differente sim's and operators but got no sucess, the phone recognizes the sim but the signal strenght is null (X)
I already tried the following options:
reset
hardreset
5 different roms (cyanogen, and some stock 975/977 roms)
flashing another modem
4 differente sim's
didnt tried anything related to the kernel, this may solve my problem? seens like my problem is related to hardware problems, I dont know..
additional info: my imei is not blocked or N/A but my phone cant recognize my sim number
Additional info: on the fastboot menu the baseband is "N/A", is that value normal?
