After I install "MMSLite.bld265" in WM6 and soft reset, I can't open and access "Messages" even "SMS" or "MMS" (before restart MMS was working well).
I though the problem with some software I did hard rest and I just install "MMSLite.bld265" only but all the same, after install working but when I restarted “Massages” doesn’t open
I uninstall "MMSLite.bld265" now, I am able to open the Messages but I can’t get Softbank MMS.
There are anyway to get the MMS without using "MMSLite.bld265"!
Thanks in advance.

There are two ways, but they are both slow and stupid. MMSLite is the best option.

Before you installed MMSLite, did you erase all registry entries containing Arcsoft? If you didn't, do that. Arcsoft can cause conflicts with MMSLite.
In my case, erase arcsoft entries is no neccessory.
I have experienced the same problem as you, what i need to do is enable japanese support first.

I think those are:
1. Install Softbank mms software
2. Read this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288136&highlight=MMS+softbank)

I had this problem once, when I use Starbase64 ROM which I knew it is not compatible with MMLLite (after consulting it with Rom owner). Hard reset solved mine
You should edit the registry of Arcsoft before installing MMSLite
@jarotbudhi Yes, those are the two other ways. Thank you for clairfying

Wow! I didn't know that some ROMs were incompatible with MMSLite! Do you know why this is? Is it the version of Arcsoft that is cooked into the ROM? Perhaps if hi25man knew which ROMs were okay, he could choose one that works with MMSLite.
mmmh
My favorite ROM (TNT) doesnt work with MMSLite...
But I cannot live without MMS in Japan (SMS dont work between different operators...)
There must be a way to fix the incompatibility (Could be just a registry issue...)
Does someone have a clue ?
problems.... with mmslite. 265 and 275
I have also had this problem on most of the newer rom builds (since about Dec. 2007) as well. I installed it and it worked once or twice but after a soft reset it did not show up at all in the mail menu, or in other cases it would not work at all - even though it showed it had been installed in "Programs in storage memory).
To solve the problem, what I did was:
1)hard-reset.
2) Install softbank network settings
3)Install Japanese support (ask IME 311) SOFT RESET
4)Install Asukal Lets Japan no.6 SOFT RESET
5)get rid of arcsoft references from registry. (not really necessary but I do it anyway). SOFT RESET
6)install msslite (I use 275 since it has some more features like bcc, etc)
All should then be fine. Let me know how it goes!
Oh I am using K's Rom v 1.21 at the moment. Seems very fast and stable.
Mmmh looks likeI did everything but 3)Install Japanese support (ask IME 311)
I had other WM6 Roms before and never had trouble while doing all the operations you described (Except 3 which I believe is not really necessary...)
I am worried it's something else. Gonna try anyway
Thanks

Hi25man wnet through the steps you decsribed and it doesnt seem to work for him...
Did he do it following a hard-reset?
I had really thought it was not going for me as well, the first time in recent ROMS. (post-Dec. 2007). I am not exactly sure why, but it seems that mmslite can be fickle at times, so I made sure I followed the above steps. All is fine now. Really, you just have to make sure you install Japanese language character support first, before installation or it will crash the phone.
Other steps i described above are probably not necessary, although I find it works for me (gives me Japanese input, gets rid of arcsoft mms, etc).
Oh, and it probably pays to set up things like MMSLITE, Japanese support, network settings FIRST, following a hard-reset. That way there should be minimal conflict.... And, as a last measure, perhaps the MMSLITE application could be somehow be corrupted? Try and download it again....(And use 775, it is better).
Cheers.

I am going to try again
Honetsly it worked... until I installed my push email account...
And then it started conflicting
Have you installed anotehr meail account ? Is it an Exchange server push type account ? I am worried that it is what is conflictingBasically what I did was:
1. Hard Reset
2. Install japanese fonts (I didnt install IME 311 but as you said I dont think tis matters.). I used Lets Japan no5. Where did you get no 6 ?
3. Delete all references to Arcsoft
4. Install MMSLIte
At this stage everything worked fine. The problme occured after I setup my Exchange server references...

I found this in another area of the xda-developers forums, thought it might be worth sharing here, as i havent seen it mentioned here yet, apparently you can use it without it clogging up your contacts with loads of emails. i will try it now,
I have also put a copy of this on my own server in case it goes walkies.

Working !!
Hi guys,
just tried on Meschle's Touch 1.0 and after reboot my device didn't boot up,
i had to reset. But after reset i just installed (without making changes on my device) and it worked.
Maybe it's because i installed HTC Home 2.0.xxx ? I don't know...
It really works. Now when you setup your account you have the option to choose if you want to add the contacts to the phone-contacts. Great work ! That was worth to reset my device
Thanks a lot !
Thanks for this, I'll give it a try, was a right mess with all the contacts being added to my contact base on old version.
I tried this and got an error about "wlmsetup.exe is not a valid pocketpc application". Upon reboot WLM kept stating no Internet connectivity. I removed it and went to re-install. It now won't install at all and just comes up stating install was unsuccessful. I now have no WLM at all on my Orbit and hence have no e-mail.
I am hoping it can be easily solved without a hard-reset as can do without re-installing all my apps etc.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Dae
Wlm is better cooked in the rom - by cab install seems to slow device down. My new rom has this cooked in but an even newer build 10.6.31.2600!
Tested. You get tick box to say if you want to merge your contacts. I decide not to merge my contacts – naturally. Works fine on my Oribit - WM6.
didn’t notice a slowing down. But I am using P4.1 touch.
Thanks joey jojo
This ain't 10.6.0031.1600
I have downloaded several versions which intend to be 31.1600 but after installing it says it is version: 10.6.0030.2100

What is the easiest way to get all of my settings contacts and e-mail settings back on my phone after I do a Rom upgrade?
use a backup utility before you re flash
Will a back up remember all the programs and contacts and mail settings?
I'm by no means an expert, but it was my impression that it was not a good idea to restore a backup onto a new rom. Things are not necesarily in the same place and it can cause problems. That being said i don't really know of any solutions for you.
Haven't tried it yet, but the new Spb Backup v2.0 will restore data between upgrades, don't know about each setting though. On the other hand, if it saves all registry settings and certain files (i.e. ".ini") then everything should be the same.
if you're installing another ROM, you'll do best by reinstalling all your programs. this will ensure that the programs work with the newly installed ROM. i use MS Outlook to backup contacts... backing up email settings depends on what you use for email; if you're using a POP3 account, i suggest you reenter them.... in my opinion, using backup software to reinstall your programs, settings, etc., is risky and may cause unexpected issues. good luck!

Spb Backup has been incredibly buggy for me on my Telus Touch... does it work well for anyone else?
It freezes unless I do this: back up my documents only, turn off the option to create an exe and don't use encryption.

so,on the telus touch, have you tried the rom upgrade and used spb backup to restore?

Not dumb, there are always questions when you install new software. But, this is another great feature of Spb Backup, it creates self-extracting restore files, with an option to create a copy of the software as well. So install it to your main memory, and have the files kept on your card. Whenever you need to restore, just run the file, you don't even need the app installed. Also includes a desktop sync app.

No prob, almost forgot to mention, after restoring the data, your PC will recognize it as it did before. I really like this feature, thought all my data was going to be duplicated.
First, I'd like to thank everyone in this forum for making our phones more awesome than they already are, you guys know who you are. I've been lurking around since I got 6.1, but now I have a very annoying issues that I'm trying to fix.
I created a backup of all my phone's (not sim) contacts with 6.1 before updating to 6.5. However, I realized that same menu with the Backup/Restore functions has completely changed and does not offer the Restore function anymore. So now I'm stuck with a .dcb file that I can't restore, or open up in any other program, as far as I'm aware. Besides the obvious option of getting someone with 6.1, opening the file there and making a backup to my sim card directly, is there anyway that I restore that file, or at least open it up somehow?
Thanks in advance.
See if you can install this?
"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient file permissions."
Nope, can't get past that message.

I`m not sure if this is the same subject, but my sister-in-law wants me to upgrade her rom(she seen mine with 3VO and she freaked out.she wants it bad.......the rom that is.)...well,shes got over 100 contacts on the device. Not one on her sim card. How can i save all her contacts all at once before flashing? Thanks for listening.
I sync all my contacts to Outlook and resync my phone after flashing. Makes it easy and is one of the reasons I am now a Windows mobile addict

Glad you sorted & happy to help
I used Microsoft My Phone its free and easy
Oh here is the cab
I just got a Tilt 2 from ATT. One of the first anoying things I've noticed is that when I configured Windows Live, that I could not choose which folders to sync. Before, I could go into Hotmail (once I've configured in Windows Live) and then go to Menu --> Tools --> Manage Folders (I believe that was the option). From there I could select which folders I wanted to sync. Now, when I click on Menu, I don't see any option for this. So, I can only read the email in my inbox and I cannot read the email in Junk or any other folder.
If anyone knows a work around for this, I would appreciate it.
I had the same issue on my T-Mobile TP2 when I used the T-Mobile upgrade to 6.5. I made same request and someone told me to run the upgrade again. Oddly enough it worked. I don't know if you can find the ATT 6.5 ROM, but if you can, try to give that a shot or maybe even a hard reset.
I don't know why, but it did work for me.
Thank you. I think that I will use the homecooked ROM on this site. If I'm going to reimage this thing, I might as well be for an improvement.
Problem solved. I downloaded Windows Live services from Microsoft's website and installed it. Once the install finished I got all my old school options. Looks like the default one does not work.

You can use that link to download it to your phone, or PC first, either will work.
Another fix
If you turn off HTC Sense (or 3D flow, what ever you want to call it) then you can make these adjustments to Windows Live.
EDIT: 4questions !
Hi guys. I just installed the 2.2 update via OTA, but now i got "3 little problems". Since i didnt find them via search buttom, i'd like to ask them here.
1.- Most settings are the same as before (2.1), but for example, Google Talk changed my nickname, from my name to my e-mail. I know there was a way to change it, but i dont find the way to...
I know people can change my nickname, so each one sees me with the nickname they want, but the "default one" was my name and now's my e-mail
2.- Facebook events + brithdates. Is there a way to disable them? I got all kind of connections from facebook disabled.. but dont find this new feature so i can disable it.
3.- Flash. I found on market Adobe Flash Player 10.1. Wasn't it supposed to be enabled by default? I mean. Should i install it? Is it better than default? I dont understand anything since i read that 2.2 came with default 10.1... but there's an app, from Adobe.
4.- Is is recommended to do a hard reset after updating? I mean. I got all apps from 2.1 installed. And since I update, none of them were removed, etc. Do I lose some speed or something if i dont hard reset? Maybe Hard Reseting + Reinstalling ALL apps make my device to run EVEN smoother and faster than it does. (It goes faster now than before with 2.1, but maybe...)
See you soon and thanks for all!!!

3 - included as default in the official rom
4 - always recommended when installing a new system, if not this could lead to bugs and performance issues. The official froyo is also odexed there's a chance your apps may conflict. if you have the time to hard reset then it's defo recommended.
don't know about the google talk thing though sorry.
