Hi,
Could it be that there is a problem/bug in Pbar 1.5 ?
I am using regional settings Dutch(Belgium). This, amongst other settings, changes the clock to a 24h format (so no AM/PM).
Now when I choose in the Pbar settings to put 'Local time' as main number in the task bar the problem occurs...
After a soft reset:
- the clock setting is changed to a 'strange' 12h format (starts at 01:00 to 12:00; no AM/PM).
- calendar appointments change from i.e. 15h (3PM) to 03h (AM/PM not defined, but in Google Calendar, after syncing, it appears to have changed to 03AM).
I hard resetted several times to reproduce the error, and it happens every time.
Any idea's?
BR,
Pete
this problem is really caused by pbar! the solution to me was changing in Start>Settings>System>Regional Sett>Time>Time separator... from ":" to "ยบ"

I am not entirely certain that this issue is tied to the (official) rom upgrade but it has only started to occur recently.
I have implemented the registry hack which displays both time and date in the top header (rather than only the time).
Lately, the top header is displayed in thin text after a soft reset, for some seconds, and then the text turns bold. As a consequence of this, the displayed text is displaced to the right and the time and date disappears off the screen.
Is there any way of keeping the text from going bold?
Have you recently run a utility that would change any font settings at all? A program like Tweak2k, WinCETuner, or even Nyditot Virtual Display with it's appearance settings could have affected your display in this manner.
Also, if you had recently installed a new theme (TSK file), this may also change your font settings.
I have used none of the listed applications and only the MS WindowsMobileOrange tsk which is what I was using before the upgrade. Reverting to the standard does not help.
I would be happy if there were a registry setting which would force the top bar to remain non-bold just the way it is directly after a soft reset

Hi LarsN,
I got round this by altering the format of the time in the registry (adding a spaces to the time format, from "HH:mm" to " HH:mm "). The result was that the width used on the taskbar by time/ date was broadened resulting in the missing date info not being cut off. Incidentally I placed spaces before and after the time simply so that the time would be being centered underneather the date.
reg: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides\
String Value name: STFmt
Data: " HH:mm "
The final tweak I made was to reformat the short date to give the short "day of the week" (ddd) and date of the week (dd) as I always know what month we are in and certainly the year (but that's only my personal preference).
String Value name: SSDte
Data: "ddd dd"
Be advised that this tweak has knock on effects e.g. Clock & Alarms (usually on Today Screen) follows the formating when tapped, similarly File Explorer. For me I can live with such things but if ayone else knows the reg setting needed to only effect the taskabr time/date that would be better (I noticed that although my setting was originally HH:mm:ss only HH:mm was being displayed not the ss part so there must be another tweak out there).
Cheers - Mallow1
NB for those less familiar with tweaking the quote marks are only there for reference in the Data field and are not to be actually included.
I'n getting exactly the same problem, but mine seems to happen after the "G" for GPRS flashes up - interestingly it then disappears, but my this time it has moved the date and time to the right (lets forget about the font for the moment) so there is just not enough room for it to display date/time.
Has anyone had this problem with O2's "G" vanishing?
How do you cure it?
If I could work out how to copy the file for the o2 battery plugin - I thought about doing a corporate o2 install, then copying the o2 plugin back. I think this may work, because I think the problem is still related to the o2 crap they put on the machine
any help appreciated
I did a hard reset & cured the problem
Maybe it was font after all
MYTODAYSCREEN.exe
or
Journal Bar - Weather, News & more! 3.4.3 JrnlOD343.EXE
which I had uninstalle4d - but it obviously left something lieing around
Was running ATT WM5 and all was well. Flashed to Offical ATT WM6 using SPL2.1. Now I'm at ROM 3.62.502.3 1.54.07.00 32.86u.7020.23H. At this point, still ok. Installed PPTFix to remap button 5 to Voice Speed Dial and setup Plantronics head set. Still ok. Added some email accounts and a customized background. All ok. Synced Contacts, Notes, etc. Still ok. Decided I didn't like the Comm and Battery Icons on the bottom tray and ran MobileRegistryEditor and changed values from 1 to 0. Still ok the rest of afternoon and last night.
Got up this morning, did a soft reset, and everything went to hell. Booted normally up to the green Windows screen, then hung there for 3 or 4 minutes. Finally got to the Today screen, but all apps run like honey on a cold morning. I can use VoiceCommand to place calls and I can Dial out Manually, but if I tap my contacts button, no contacts show up. Email won't send/receive, but I can get incoming calls. Today screen shows correct appointments and task, but tap Calandar and they don't show up there.
Before I do anything else, I wanted to get some ideas on where to start.
Pretty sure hiding the comm manager was your problem
I'm pretty sure hiding the comm manager icon was your problem, I've heard there are numerous problems when you hide the comm manager icon. Change that key back and see if your problems go away.
KarhU said on the ROM benchmark :
6. Never hide the WirelessManager Tray Icon at the bottom.
Don't believe me?
Try it and feel the difference.
This is the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000 ;<--- (dword:00000000 to hide and dword:00000001 to show)
Yeah, I've seen this issue in many of the recent WM6 ROM Threads. It's a true shame, since it means we're stuck with having to keep the bottom tray visible. I (for one) do not like that waste of screen space.
Too bad the fix for this anomaly is so elusive.

Thanks for the help. It looks like the Comm Mgr icon may have been the problem. My 8525 wouldn't connect to the Internet, Email or (thru Active Sync) to my desktop. Finally went into Settings/System/Clear Storage and it completely reloaded WM6. Reinstalled all my extra apps and things are fine. Of course I haven't tried to edit the registry and get rid of those bottom icons, and I don't think I'm going to. If anyone finds a sure method to get rid of the bottom system tray, please post.
Can anyone else confirm or deny that their Settings => Clock & Alarm => Date and Time works properly?
Mine gives me an error "The settings could not be opened." I noticed this problem after I fixed the Clock On Top to the 12 hour (probably coincidence). I've tried a couple of reboots to no avail.
because you've deleted HKLM\init\launch107
Hallo!
I've got some problems with editing the registry in my htc.
I'm using - CeRegEditor and PHM Regedit and I can't change, f.e
- waking up my device while getting a new sms:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to
"1" = no wake up
"0" = wake up after sms
or
-the navigation control lightening after getting a new sms:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Defau lt\Duration --> I've changed from default "5" into "1" and nothing - there is lightening all the time, untill I answer the message
What's wrong?
Obviously after any change I do Soft Reset. And there are changes visible, but only in the registry (and it's still NOT working)
I've got standard rom from HTC - 1.93.
Maybe I have to change my rom? (but I do not want to, I'd rather set up mine)
I have the AT&T SIII, and I can't set any notification tone for the calender if it wasn't included on the phone.
Example, if I set it to any tone that I have on the SD card, when I hit the home key, and relaunch the calender, it resets the tone to "on time". If I set the tone to one that was included, such as "harmonics", it sticks (even after a restart). I've tried force closing/clearing data from calender & calender storage, and also disabling/enabling both (along with restarts) to no avail...
Maybe it's just me, but after I tried to set a user generated tone, it also seemed to stop the calender reminders from functioning correctly.
Is anyone else seeing this issue or have a fix for me?
