Registry Entries For Sfr / Vodafone Live / Tv - P3600 ROM Development

Hello you all,
I'm using Faman's great 4.0 and would like to set up wap and TV on my trinity.
Could you transmit working registry keys for the extended version of the wap and for tv to work ? I've read many tutorials but there seems to be trouble with WM6. I currently can only get a simplified version of the wap, and where I try to get some video content the wap says that I don't have 3G.
The keys concerned ar HKLM/Security/Internet Explorer/User Agent
(Default)
Custom
CustomBase
and HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Internet Settings/5.0/User agent
(Default)

Thanks for any help you'de be able to give.

Hi, just pushing the topic back up...

OK, I've done the job, here are 2 files made by forum member Queenmallory and they work great.
A tribute to Queenmallory then.

Better Japanese support in Dutch T-Mobile ROM (or English)

When i tried with integrated IE browser to check Japanese sites (with Shift-JIS or UTF-8 ) it fails easy, because the installed fonts doesn't support Japanese fonts.
I have installed MS Gothic, which have Japanese fonts. The speciale smaller 4MB file is succesfully installed, i can now use Japanese fonts.
But there are some problems:
- Fonts that don't use MS Gothic are still visible as blocks.
- Fontlinking doesn't work (from MS site)
I have tested in IE with my selfmade html page to check UTF-8 encoding with MS Gothic and standard font. Only MS Gothic selected font works.
You can see, there is more work and tweaking needed for good result when i check Japanese sites on non-Japanese WM5.
Oh yes, Opera 8.50 don't work very well.
Your help is welcome!
I have T-Mobile MDA Vario here, but this is general problem for all WM5 mobile telephones.
(I'm anime fan, that's why i check many times Japanese sites)
Many links checked but no much effect:

http://portable.syste.ms/ipaq-j.html
http://ftp.monash.edu.au/pub/nihongo/#wince_r
And some special registry tweaking which doesn't help very well:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...html/wce50confontregistrysettingsforjapan.asp
There are more information on the site self.

hi!
Hangle No.5 is not Japanese Support,
Thas is Korean Support.
So i Suggest
if you like CAB install, use Lats Japan No.5 from
http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=781630#post781630
or if you llike Flash ROM with Japanese
pls try Japanese Support ROM image on your Device.
This ROM made with O2 Exec english ROM, add wince.nls and japanese Fonts.
Good luck!
Have tested the cabs:
Japanese cab (i use korean/chinese/jap cab) works good.
No need to modify registry. The values are already inserted.
The change to Japanese mode is not needed. That is already done.
This in Output.
The characters in Internet Explorer are now visible in Japanese sites.
But the input is not good. (http://asukal.seesaa.net/article/9216384.html)
The Japanese IME boxes are TOO BIG. They're made for VGA mode, but not for smaller QVGA, for my 320240 screen.
Please fix the problem. It's like 2x zoomed keyboard input.
When i have first installed Bagoj's IME, the floated box is seen here.
But the Japanese IME boxes are not seen.
After softreset, the Japanses IME boxes are now working, but too big (VGA mode) and the floated box (which you can select modes) is now gone.
Something is wrong here.
I have already use keyboard switcher, but it doesn't much make effect?
Oh yes, because the calendar is viewed in Japanese chars, i can change it to English words in settings. Now it's good.
The only point are the char '/' which you use for directories. It's now like Yen character.

VERY VERY EXCELLENT! I am so happy you have done this. Just a quick question though, how much free storage and program memory does your X01HT have running your rom?
-Joe.
What did you do to make the battery icon look like that with a percentage value instead of just bars?

softbank mail sms mms
Hello, just wondering, Mr. Samurai-ne, if you could post cabs of the mail applications (mms mail, and sms mail) for this rom. I want to use them with other roms.
I know the MMS version you used for this rom is msslite 2.75, but for some reason it causes non-Japanese wm6 roms to crash. Why does it work perfectly in Japanese roms? Did you modify it?
ALso, what about sms? What is the application? How to install on non-Japanese roms, eg. black 4.0, lsvw, elf, etc. Now, I run black with mmslite 2.75 installed, but it crashes often. And, I have no way to install sms...
Any ideas would be appreciated. Best regards from Kyoto!
Thank you for your effort.
Excellent!!
I can use MMS Lite 2.75 on LVSW or Black as following:
1. delete registry reference for Arcsoft:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Acrsoft
2. install japanese font
http://www.asukal.jp/WM5/LetsJapanNo5x.cab
then SoftReset
3. install MMSLite 2.75
About SMS, you can use default Messaging from start menu
Also take a look to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298919
After checking MMS is working, you can change locale back to English because some programs are not working with Japanese Locale (Start -> Settings -> System->Regional Setting)
Good luck,

Vodafone live! (incl. TV) with WM6.0

Hi,
just a little note - I hope this will be helpfull for some of you - It's possible to use vodafone live! even with your WindowsMobile6.0 (without patching the ROM or using other dll's) - I tested it with schap's ROMs - but I am quite confident that it will work also with other ROMs as well.
Also I extect that it will also work in other countries (with the apropriate connection settings / network setup).
go to: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Cooked_ROMs_QA_Schaps357a and look for: 'Access to Vodafone live [GER]' & 'MobileTV with Vodafone live [GER]' - let me know, if you have success.
Matthias
It works!!! Thank you!
works great thankz
I can't seem to get this to work on my new TyTn II (Kaiser) on Vodafone UK. Does anyone have some suggestions? (I've used the UK wap profile proxy settings and not the German proxy IP)
Thanks in advance!

How do i trick the internet nto thinking my hermes is a normal crappy phone?

Basically im going to the carling reading festival on thursday, nd nokia offer a wap sevice which gives you all the stage info, timetables maps and such via a link they send to you. When i first signed up, i put my phone as other, and it wasnt recognised. Then i signed up as another user (as the site didnt seem to have an option to change your details) and i put my phone as K800i which is my other phone. The thing is, they sent the link ok, but when i click on it in either opera or IE it says your phone isnt compatible. Which is id say outrageous, as its wap and i ahve proper internet..
So i was wondering if there is a hack or reg tweak or program which will tirck the site into thinking im on a phone thats supported.
And by the way i ahve tried changing my opera settings to handheld device, btu it seems tht meand windows device rather then phone lo
thanks in advance

I did that on mine and there are still a few sites that pick up that it's a mobile phone and show me their mobile version of their website, specifically myspace. I hate the mobile version.
I remember seeing a post once where there were registry settings you can change to make the browser emulate a desktop, but I can't seem to find it in the search function for the forums.
Anyone else remember or know how?

EAP-TLS authentication protocol

Hi everyone.
It's almost 1 year since I bought my S8500.
I think it is a really good smartphone and I will try your Android port soon!
This said, I have one big problem and I don't know who I could talk about it but you: I am a student at Politecnico di Milano and my univeristy offers free wi-fi connection; this connection have these characteristics:
* WPA2 with password and certificate
* EAP-TLS Authentication
No problems with WPA2 and certificate (I successfully installed it on the phone), but, as you probably already know, bada 1.2 doesn't support EAP-TLS, while you can use EAP-TTLS.
This is the problem and the question: what can I do? I tried contacting many forums, but I never reached a solution.
I am not really good at programming, but if it is the way, I'll write an EAP-TLS "program" by myself.
If anybody has got any suggestion, I would really appreciate it!
Thank you and goodbye.
same problem, currently i haven't found a solution yet, needs to find where are stored those settings, then perhaps we could add eap-tls authentication settings in a custom firmware but probably are protected system file, anyway hoping will be added in bada 2...

I have found a link some time ago:
As I cannot post links, you should Google for: static.bada.com/contents/docs/resources_1.2.0/com.osp.apireference.help/namespaceOsp_1_1Net_1_1Wifi.html#c3dfe935675929c6ce0f2ceb7ee0bf1b
I am not sure if this is of any use.
Bye
No ideas?
No one?
Well what was to be said has been said, I see.
So if someone knows how to close this post, I think it can be closed now!
Thank you!
Any news?
So, it has been quite long since the beta release of bada 2.0 was made available and, as I could read on this forum, many people already installed it.
Can I ask you a favour?
Could you tell me if bada 2.0 is provided with EAP-TLS authentication protocol?
Thank you very much for ANY reply
It has option EAP-TLS to choose in WiFi menu while connecting, but i cant tell you if it is working because when i tried do it (KH3) on my university network phone every time resets.. so we must wait for final 2.0.
In my opinion, probability of EAP-TLS working implementation on final Bada 2.0 is very high.
Sometimes it is very hard to get an answer...
Me myself and I
For instance not use WiFi nor BT at the moment.
So no idea.
About bada 2.0...
Maybe we know more in 1 month... if Final version is available.
Best Regards
Good!
That's very good news!
Thank you everyone, I'm looking forward to get bada 2.0 as soon as possible!!
unfortunately Samsung "don't like" TLS authentication, both with my old S8000 and S8500 i've never succeeded in connecting to my university's wifi...
