Before he can cash on his discovery, let him offer a promo - i.e some free codes, say for 3 people, then he can market himself and profit if he wants.
Although, he will be defeating the objective of this forum, which I believe is not necessary profitering from knowledge, but providing something for the benefit of the community, then people willingly give you what they can afford if they find your solution helpful.
At least, that has been the case with all the other's efforts....pof, perjan, tom_codon, et.c to mention but a few.

Yeah he can make profit of his findings, but why for something we can get it done here for free, I unlocked my artemis for free, right here in this forum. no offence kingback, if every one reads the forum there is lot more anyone can do with patience, if kingback can offer better things he can get donations, if I can use what anyone offers and if it is working I'll be happy to pay for his time. Atleast this is I what think. and sorry if I offended any one.

Sorry am I missing something? Where is there a free SIM unlock option available in this forum?

The program has been deleted but Pof says it works. Ask someone and they may have downloaded it.
Basically you run the program and it writes a file that you use with a MicroSD card to change the unlock code on your device to one you know the number of. You then put in a different network SIM and put in the unlock code. And it is unlocked. Apparently. All the OP is doing is using the program he downloaded off this forum to create the file you need and then selling it to you. Shame on him!

Ahhh that. I thought it didn't work, but have read to see it may have been understood, although I don't read any posts saying anyone unlocked their Artemis with it.
Odd how come it was there for days, but as soon as it was deciphered it has been removed.

It was removed at the request of the software's author.

Why delete a free tool? That would give the people that have downloaded it more power, and make it easier for them to make money off it..

I don't think Admin really had much choice, if I have read the posts properly it was a copyrighted program and the holders asked for it's removal.

Rifaa - Where did you ghet yours unlocked for free ? Please provide the information then, so others can benefit. If you read my posting accurately, I am sure you will see I did not say people can't get it SIM unlocked for free.
I merely suggested that he make true his claim i.e by offering some free codes which in turn is ascertained by the beneficiaries and then state his terms...even if that is contrary to the objectives of this kind of forum.

unlocker didn't work...
as for now, nobody reported the tool actually worked! so be aware, the unlocker tool did not work so far. if someone is selling output based on the earlier posted unlocker, be a little bit skeptic before paying!

Maybe, if someone has the software, he/she could upload it to rapidshare?

He is hawking Kavana ROM as his own, he even uses kavana's pictures with his email address/profile.

God that is shady but where anyone can make a couple of squid they will and as gixxum quoted it's not an official release and i'm damn sure that Kavana has not got copyright of the rom in question, lets just hope that the seller has a freak accident of nature?

It's a disgrace that someone can make money for something that is readily available "Free" and not credit & royalty Kavana.

Wow, I can't believe people are doing this. But there is nothing we can do about it I figured because the Rom is not copyrighted material; therefore, anyone can sell it unless Kavana copy rights, which I believe can not be done since its a "cooked" rom rather then an official rom.

Oh sounds good, I will do the same thing as well... I am going to let everyone know that they could download it from our website... It seems as if people are getting ripped off by buying a free program... Kavana and Ricky put together this for us for free therefore it should be this way... No one should try to sell it... If anyone has the right to sell the program it would be Ricky and Kavana.

I suggest in your future ROM put comments in the home.xml files' header.
It's a DISGRACE for people to make money out of somebody else's sweat. I know how difficult and time consuming it is to make ROMs.

selling someone elses work is just wrong...

I made this little walk through so that maybe we can get rid of some of the common questions that get asked way too much. This guide will walk you through the process of app unlocking your phone, upgrading the rom, setting up the keyboard and setting up your connections. Beyond that, you are on your own. Pretty nice guide Gixxum... I wish this was around when I did mine! (I went through 2,000 something pages before I decide I was dangerous enough to flash my phone)... This will come in handy when I eventually flash my phone to version 24 of ricky's rom. Keep up the good work!

i made the guide because this process is so easy...but if you are new to it, and do anything out of order, you end back here asking the same questions and getting flat out frustrated.. im hoping that this takes away that issue.

Out of curiosity - when my phone boots up and shuts down it has HTC and no mention of S620. Not a big deal, I don't care what it says as long as it works but I saw somewhere on a post that theirs says HTC S620. Just wondering...
I am not subscribed to any internet plan, just rely on wi-fi so I will try to make this work and be happy as a fiddle as us Southerners say!!!!!!!! plus can't say what I'd like to say here.........

if you go to start> settings > system information you will see it shows as an s620

When you entered all the connection set ups I have a question I have an unlocked tmobile dash I"m useing an AT&t card do I enter [email protected] info for connection stuff or tmobile cause it was first programed for tmobile?
Other than the keyboard thing is there anyother things that need tweeking like bluetooth or voice ? One more question could I go back and relash with say the rogers version of the rom if something went wrong with this one/ Thanks

you will select whatever carrier you use..in your case you would select att/cingular (whatever they are now).
nothing really needs tweeking...meaning everything should work.
yes you can reflash with an OEM rom and you can find those files in one of the sticky's on this forum

yea i tried all i could and i couldnt get it to post in a good format. plus, the site wont let me link to more than 4 pics per post. i would have left it as a web page on my site, but i dont know how much traffic would be generated. so my last resort was to just make a pdf and host it on my box and hope for not too much traffic. so far so good.
you guys can take this and do what you want with it. just made it to offset my ability to be the biggest prick ever.. i figured i owed the community something. =P

good job, though - i remember when i wrote the guide to upgrade from 5 to 6 and most people found that really helpful. see, when you have a guide, it just makes life so much easier than going around hunting for information.
having everything in one place makes it easier not only for noobs but experts too.
I'm working on getting everything on here. Hopefully, everything should work out.

yea thats why i did the page 1..."get this and this and continue". by doing it this way with the screen shots...you cant really mess up. you have everything and you have pics to reassure you are going the right way. its just the order in which you have to do things that i cannot stress enough.

EBay is a Market Place, xda-developers is a developers forum. If you are selling your device, please put a link in your signature to the ebay (or whatever site) page you are selling your device on.

Mate anybody can get robbed at any place if the seller/robber for that matter is having this intention. If you think Ebay is secure I would suggest you to look at the facts.
As Dave has mentioned that this is a developers forum & not any market place.
That thread is just an humble beginning to consolidate the single issue of buying & selling devices.
It was not meant to make anything like market place.
Let me share one more thing with you. I being a volunteer in many of Climate change initiatives felt like sharing our devices which could help us mitigate the carbon emmission. You know how much it takes to make a single device. So you can understand if we could save some carbon emissions by sharing our devices.
Hope you would appreciate it.
Making a thread in itself emits carbon[atleast more than making a post & then avoid searching for something here & there].

They will, just like the HD2 for T-mo version. Initially they only had the Otter Box for the Euro version. Just takes a lot of request for them to realize that there is a market for it.

I've previously had the Body Glove products for previous devices I've had but always found that they didn't have a very good fit over time. Since I found the link over at XDA-developer, I've had a chance to see the products you make for the iPhone as well as the regular myTouch. I would love to see a product of yours that would work for the myTouch 3G Slide. If you were to make a product for this phone, I'd be more than thrilled to purchase it as it seems that there's a lot of care taken when your company designs product.

Yeah it does take a while for them to decide. People just has to keep requesting for it and hopefully they get enough requests for them to realize that there is a market for it.

Also requested and got the standard return e-mail of not right now but maybe.

Got the standard form letter a couple days ago as well. Hopefully we can get enough cases in there to make them get off their duff before T-mo retires the Slide.
